The dress has sideways vajayjay on her boob.

      • zenobar

At least the vajayjay is at a jaunty angle.

        • Kristin McNamara

Jaunty. What a great word here hahaha

          • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

The Jaunty Vajayjays. Sounds like a women’s barbershop quartet group.

I like the skirt, I like the shoes, I like the hair and makeup. Do not like the top or the earrings.

    • Introspective

something about this falls just short of fab. it could have gotten there but i feel like theres too much going on with the dress (velvet skirt! peplum! wilma shoulder with origami effect! oy!)

and the shoes (or rather mary jane hooves) make my eyes twitch.

love the dress… hate the velvet =___=

    • zenobar

Looks like Darren Le Gallo’s knicks are in a twist.  Why so dour, Darren?

    • Vickiefantastico

It was all just okay until the side view. Then I hated it. Oh well. At least her hair and makeup look pretty. The guy with her could smile a little.

    • clevRcat

I was liking it until we hit the side view.  The velvet add-on looks weird — like it’s trying to make a break for it.

    • Beardslee

It’s cold here on the East Coast; poor soul, she has to suffer for fashion and not wear a coat, or even anything with sleeves.  I am so glad I am unfabulous me and get to dress according to temperature.

    • filmcricket

I could do without the peplum, but otherwise I quite like this. I am a sucker for velvet, and she looks very New York chic.

    • MissMariRose

She must be freezing outside in that dress.

    • Tatiana Luján

I love the velvet skirt, but the origami on the top and the awful satin-ankle strap-platform Payless pumps kill it for me.

    • JasmineAM

I am so tired of seeing those fugly ass Atwood pumps.

    • Judy_J

      Tres chic.

I actually sort of like this…hate the shoes, though. I wish this platform/stripper shoe trend would die and never return.

I’m not a big fan of black-on-black — the colors never match exactly and it ends up looking sloppy. Otherwise, it’s a pretty dress for her, although to my eyes, it needs more jewelry.

    • MightyMarshal

      AMERICAN HORROR STORY?!

    • http://twitter.com/Nancer Nancer

Pretty but a little colorless. Maybe this would have been an opportunity to deploy a bright red lip?

      • Mary229

Her make-up artist seems to go for the natural look for her a ton.  And I get that.  She’s got gorgeous skin and is a true natural beauty.  But truth?  I think a darker lip and more glam make-up changes her entire look.  She can look totally vamp and Rita Hayworth-esque with the darker lip and I really want her to do it more often.

    • alyce1213

I like it a lot.  But I’m a sucker for velvet.  Her makeup is stunning.

      • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

I like it too. Seems that Adams has been dressing better lately.

    • Julie Isaacs

Kinda looks like a Christmas dance dress I got at Contempo Casuals in 1988.  Love the cocktail ring.

    • Sara__B

She’s gorgeous. Her outfit? Not good enough for such a beauty. New stylist, please!

      • Mary229

I just said the same thing.   She’s too naturally pretty (and ragingly talented) and I just really need to see a new stylist picking out looks for her.   She has the potential to be very Golden Age Hollywood/vintage glam.  The right stylist could make that happen all the time for her.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

I kinda love that dress, but, in my head, I picture it in a deep green for the holidays.

    • Mary229

She’s such a pretty woman and this is….interesting and fun I guess.   She looks lovely in it.  But I think I’m just gonna say it:  I really, really want this woman to get a new stylist.  She’s too pretty and talented and I just want to see a different stylist dressing her on a regular basis.  I want to see her in a darker lip more often.  I also kind of want to see her darken her hair a bit to a more auburn red.  Am I crazy here?  I love Miss Amy.   But I think she can do better.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

What on earth does the lady in the last photo see on the sidewalk?  Maybe that’s why Amy’s escort looks so pained?

I have an irrational dislike of ankle strap shoes and this is doing nothing to change my opinion.  She looks so pretty, love the earrings, hair & makeup.  Love the velvet bottom half of the dress, and I can even get with the peplum in this case.  But the crepe, or whatever, on top looks odd paired with the velvet.  Plus I think it could have been better fitted through the waist, and a bit shorter (just above the knee instead of just below).

“Make sure Amy doesn’t step on that grate. Her heel will get stuck.”

        • http://journal.translarte.de/ Muyserin

Only read your comments after I posted mine wishing for captions – sorry! :)

    • neofashionista

I think this is a WERQ for here she looks beautiful

    • spititout

shoulda had Amy play Elizabeth Taylor in Liz and Dick, she has a better voice than LiLo

    • kayleymaybe

Man, she’s gone all severe and pointy again.  I like her better soft…

    • Carla_Charlton

Once again, you tricked me with the thumbnail into thinking you’re going to feature a really beautiful look, but then when I see the head-to-toe photos and the different angles, I have to shake my head at another miss ……

    • http://journal.translarte.de/ Muyserin

I’d love for someone to caption those last two pics. Something funny going on there for sure.

      • Snailstsichr

I’m thinking BrooklynBomber called it correctly.

        • http://journal.translarte.de/ Muyserin

Saw it, but too late! :)

    • marilyn

      Double gorgeous.

    • decormaven

Hair & makeup are great, and I love the earrings. Something about the swoopy top makes my eye twitch, though. Another vote for a new stylist. This gal is gorgeous, and it’s been a long time since her fashions have matched her good looks.

I hope someday technology can progress from just black and white film.

    • ankali

I feel like this is better than the sum of its parts. I’m iffy on the shoes for the look, am not crazy about the button detail or cummerbund effect on the top, think her eye makeup in closeup looks terrible, and don’t care for the earrings (they look matronly to me). And yet she’s making everything work for her, as my overall impression is that she looks sleek, sophisticated, and glamorous.

    • http://profiles.google.com/dorothymichael Dorothy & Michael n/a

What does she have against necklaces?!

    • nannypoo

Lately she’s been employing the Michelle Williams lemon-sucking face, so these pictures are a big improvement. The dress is goofy, but she looks happy and pretty.

    • librarygrrl64

Meh. It’s a bit boring, IMO.

    • SorayaS

Hmmmm. I think this is a Girl That’s Not Your Dress moment because it really doesn’t flatter her shape but then I cannot imagine anyone looking really good in this dress.

Maybe give it to Lady Gaga who will go crazy with accessories and turn it into something special.

    • teensmom99

Proportions are all off.  the top needs to start higher but then the “wing” would hit her face.  The waist sits in the wrong place and with the too-long skirt it just looks off.

    • Carly Warnock

      frankendress.

    • quiltrx

She looks (as always IMO) really pretty, and I like the dress a lot.  A bit o’color in the shoe department would have been better than these tiresome things, but they’re not ugly or anything.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

My friend wore basically that to her sorority formal in 1984, except the top was black with a white inset in the flap.  Otherwise, yep, that’s pretty much it.

    • Qitkat

I’m thinking flash photography may not be doing this dress any favors. It keeps changing colors.
Also, to the fellow with her, look a little more pleased next time, OK?; you have a lovely young lady on your arm.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1832126583 Mary Lauer

Hair/makeup wonderful. Dress cute. Shoes eh. Needs more statement jewelry. Her neck/shoulders are awfully bare.

    • http://frockpaperscissors.blogspot.com/ kvlm

The earrings make it antiquated, the makeup makes it boring, the shoes put me to sleep.  But I do love the dress and her body looks amazing.
