Yea or Nay: Fendi Spring 2013 Accessories

Posted on October 01, 2012

Darlings, what do we all think of the Rubik’s Cube-by-way-of-Legos-with-a-bit-of-Tetris Fendi spring 2013 accessories? They’re certainly fun, if nothing else. Anything that inspires THAT description would have to be fun.

It seems to us that the shoes are more than a bit over-designed, but we appreciate any attempt to try something different and it’s nice to see a chunky heel right now. They look better with pants than with a skirt. We think the bags work a bit better, especially the ones that aren’t quite so textural. The bangles are flat-out fab. As you can see, we have a multitude of opinions. Let’s hear yours.

Fendi Spring 2013 Accessories: YEA or NAY?

    • DominoEstella

      yea.. Much better than Prada.

    • StellaZafella

All this, with the right pants…yea!
And the shoes aren’t platform toes…in this case that would really be FrankenShoe.

    • TonyGo

The shoes all look like a more traditional shoe with a fancy slip cover over them.  No me gusta.

SHOE SLIPCOVERS! We need to make a million dollars with this …

    • S_Swift

I like the bangles and I think I am going to use them as DIY inspiration.

    • crash1212

Love the bags, hate the shoes, bangles are OK.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_BMEASIKJSVE6YP3DE2VLJA5CUU JulieJ

I am with you except I think the pump shoe that does not look like a shoe within a shoe is ort of fun.

I want the purse dongles, but I want them to look like companion cubes. /epicnerdery

    • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

I dislike pretty much everything, except for the handbag in the bottom row. That, I would buy. If I had more money than sense.

    • http://twitter.com/Lily1129 Lily

      Yea with the right clothes.

    • AudreysMom

Going Nay here. I need wayyy more help knowing what these shoes would look good with that doesn’t start with the words “Now on the SyFy channel….”

    • hughman

The bags and bangles are gorge. The shoes look rather utilitarian and clinical, like something you’d wear to Hazmat’s Night Out.

    • mjude

i dont really know what i think about this.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1576973112 Patricia Groves Dobrowski

Like the bangles, lukewarm on the handbags, HATE the shoes.

    • schlomosteel

      Yea, and moreover, yay.

    • holdmewhileimnaked

i like the sunglasses, the blue shoes & the bags w/ the most crap attached. there.

    • pookiesmom

      LOVE.

    • teensmom99

YEA–I think the front of the shoes is so much more refined than what you see with a chunky heel. I’m thinking of these as the inspiration and then I’m looking forward to how other mid-level designers (like Via Spiga-type) will reinterpret this with less whimsy and more wearability.

    • http://twitter.com/janedonuts Jane Donuts

Love them. Love a shoe you can build an entire outfit around. They’re fun and unusual.

    • Trisha26

Nay – too clunky all around. Bangles are just okay.

    • Insidiously

I WANT THE YELLOW GREY AND WHITE ONE

      • kimmeister

That bag is the best piece in the entire collection.  In fact, it’s the only one I’d want, but boy is it stellar.

    • random_poster

Love the bag in the bottom row.  Don’t like anything else.  I guess that means NAY.

    • http://heartprintandstyle.blogspot.com Vivi N

The shoes are horrendous but I’m sorta digging the bracelets and purses/clutches.

    • boomchicabowwow

I want EVERY pair of those shoes!  Some of the bags are okay, but I’d never go near the chunky jewlery, I just can’t pull that stuff off.

    • Clueless_Jock

      Inspired by Leggo?

    • rhl25

I can’t see beyond the wonderful chunkiness of those heels. My insteps are sobbing in relief. Also, no mutated platform. I will MAKE them look good. If, you know, I could afford them.

    • lalahartma

      Nay.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

I don’t see anything here that is making me (want to) take out a second mortgage on my house.

    • MarissaLG

YEA! I love a chunky heel.

    • janetjb

It’s all too much, overworked, etc.

    • Judy_J

I’m surprised, but I really like this.  It all looks cute and fun.

    • ccm800

Nay. on the shoes especially – the bags have a cool vibe going on.

    • poggi

I like the totes.   I don’t care for the shoes, particularly the ones with protruding and overlapping tongues.  I bet your pants would catch on them constantly.  There is a periwinkle and reddish pair that might have less 3 dimensional design elements (I can’t tell for sure) that I might like.  But I also don’t love the spiked heel elements.  If you distractedly cross your feet at the ankle you end up spiking yourself.

Overall, nay with an occasional yea.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

The Sydney Opera House as rendered in footwear.  Not a good idea-the bags are mostly okay.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

        Brilliant! :)

    • aristida_girl

yea! especially the bags and jewelry… the shoes maybe with a well-thought out outfit on the right girl..

    • you’renotmysupervisor!!

perplexed. The more I come back and revisit the pics, the more I like this. Totally not my typical style, but thoroughly intrigued.

Y’all can have the bangles- I can get the same thing at Target, but the bags are great and the shoes are really growing on me.

    • http://twitter.com/iraki86 IraKi

To paraprhase Baldwin … “Good God Fendi!”

    • https://twitter.com/LisaF1163 Lisa

I’ll give them a YAY, because other than the “armadillo” heels on the shoes, I really do love everything else!

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I want the clutch in the 3rd row and the tote in the last row.  They can keep the shoes, thanks.

    • Lisa Kramp

Not digging the Frankenshoes, but the rest of it is fun as hell!

    • Contralto

Definitely feeling the bags.  The shoes, not so much.

    • CatherineRhodes

I agree with all your opinions. Well stated.

    • Anathema_Device

Yea on most of the bags, Nay on the shoes.

    • Aly Light

Love it, love it, love it.

    • clevRcat

Fun!  And they can double as bludgeons.

    • understateddiva

the colors are interesting, but the shoes….dear god, the shoes….

    • IDreamIn4D

The bags are cute and can be statement pieces but the shoes are very FUG!

    • MilaXX

YEA for me. I like everything except the ankle strap shoes. The pumps I would buy and wear in a heartbeat.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Louise-Bryan/1177213326 Louise Bryan

I’ll go with Yea.  Several of the bags are great.  The shoes actually look like shoes.  Yeah, I’ll go with Yea.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=535548244 Kim Baker Vidas Davey-Irvin

i like some of the bags, but the shoes?  no.  big, clunky, and chunky = awkward and ugly.

    • frankystein123

Those shoes are OUTRAGEOUS. ly fabulous. YEA

    • formerlyAnon

Yea, but mostly for the shoes, which I really like. Not arguing that they’re over worked, though – the only pair I’d wear are the more subdued pumps in the center of the third row. But I still like a lot, for some reason or other.

Most of the rest looks like fun one-season novelty stuff you get cheap and don’t care that it doesn’t hold up. Obviously excepting the leather purses in the last three rows, which are nicer and someone will love but I still think they are a look which will date fast.

    • Jeremiah Capacillo

The bangles and clutches are just fab! IN!

    • TieDye64

The bangles are fab and some of the shoes could be lots of fun with wide legged pants.

    • Courtney Zanetti

Yea. The bags are great, and i like the front of most of the shoes, though those heels are cankles for the feet

    • holzfaellen

Yea! The bottom row shoes look a bit heavy, but the rest is fabulous! Especially the orange shoe in the top row…

    • eaglegrandma14

Luv all the bags, but then again I am a handbag freak!

    • Rachel Council

NAY. The last thing the world needs is more shoes the size of small cars.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_PCARAOJSL553GBBPQSLRYD5REE L.

Yes to the bags, but the shoes are too gimmick-y and the bangles are just meh.

    • http://twitter.com/debikayo Deb Oswald

Hate the shoes, love the rest

    • Eclectic Mayhem

On the whole – yay!  Especially those vaguely deco colour block bags.

    • Pants_are_a_must

YAY! I WANT TO HAVE TRANSFORMER FEET!

    • Candigirl1968

      Too much.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3JSTXMWWVZN2QNP2UEKJMTWD7U Isabel

Some Fluevogs look better and are way cheaper also.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Yea, for the bags and bangles.  Nay for the shoes.  When the shoes you’re wearing look as though they could really hurt somebody if you threw them across the room, I say nay.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Oh good — we can start a support group.  :)

    • EEKstl

Bags and Bangles: Resounding YEA!; Shoes: Not so much.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Nay – bulky, heavy, ugly.  Who wants their foot to look bigger than it really is?  Nay!

    • http://www.facebook.com/vdunbarjones Valerie Dunbar Jones

Agreed.  Non-textural totes only, and bangles.

    • marilyn

Nay.  Ugly and overdesigned.  No one could wear this in real life without looking like a freak.

    • http://twitter.com/MarfMom Maya

      nay

    • LinXGUA

I love all the bags. Only for that, Yea!

    • librarygrrl64

Yea to the bags, nay to the shoes.
