The hair and face don’t match the dress. She need fancier hair and makeup.

    • MissAmynae

Agreed.  More eyebrows, less blush.  Soft updo. Pretty!

  • Kristin McNamara

    She looks like Christmas.
    ETA: Tired Christmas.

Edited AGAIN to add: or maybe Drunk Christmas (why are her cheeks so flushed?).

    • MK03

      Blush overdose.

      •  Or too-recent dermabrasion?

I absolutely adore that dress on her, but would it have killed her to brush her hair and pull it back?

  • Call me Bee

I always like an Anne Klein Dress–so simple and elegent.  Except here, with her flyaway hair and flushed face, M-L looks like she’s on the way home from the Christmas party having imbibed a bit too much.

  • Maria Rosenfire

Lovely dress (bit too shiny). Sad hair. Mildly crazed facial expression.

    •  I think MLP always looks mildly crazed.

    • charlotte

Well, a tiny ballet dancer is kicking her on the head from above. Maybe that explains it.

    • She’s got a mild case of Norma Desmond face.

  • Wendi126

It appears she got an early Xmas gift of Botox

    • Yep, something’s going on there… her eyes are getting a little cat-like and pulled up at the outer corners

    • Yeah, looks like she got all kinds of stuff done. 🙁

  • has one half of her face always tried to run from the other half?

  • librarygrrl64

She’s on my Irrational Dislike List, and I just can’t get past that.

    • scrappy1

Maybe because her character on Weeds is increasingly insufferable?  I loved her in Angels in America, though.

      • librarygrrl64

Well, it’s not that. I had no desire to watch Weeds at all because she bugged me before that. Like I said, irrational.

  • Bodice fits perfectly, and I’d kill for that body at any age.  The hem looks like it may be a teensy bit too long, but it’s hard to tell from a still shot. Sadly, it looks like the airline lost the suitcase with her accessories, makeup, and hair-styling utensils.

    • 3boysful

To me, the bodice looks a little weird, esp for a custom gown.  There is pulling/wrinkles?  And her boobs are running away from each other.

Plus, what ya’ll all said about hair, makeup and accessories.

  • PeaceBang

Oh girlfriend, COME ON. You couldn’t bring it even HALFway appropriately?

  • Robert Wilson

Is she smirking or did the needle hit a nerve?

  • Rand Ortega

A Chignon & better jewelry is in order.
What is it w/ ladystars these days? Where’s the ornamentation? Is there a current edict on adorning 1’s ears, necks or wrists?

  • Love MLP.  Love the dress.  She could try a little harder on the hair and make up.

  • alyce1213

In agreement with the general consensus that she needs a better hairdo and accessories.
The color is great.  I really like her as an actress.

  • AlexisPayne

I really like this, soft hair and face with a dress that isn’t stuffy. Gorgeous color on her.

  • scrappy1

I think the dress is lovely, but it appears to me she’s recently had plastic surgery.  And not in a good way.

    • Tatiana Luján

Or she had a botox overdose. Something happened, her face is all weird in theese pictures.

  • glennethph

I wish she had a cuff or bracelet or something.

  • jahphotogal

Oh what did she do to her face?

  • I am utterly sick of seaweed hair. I’d almost rather see Patsy Stone beehives than stringy, wispy tendrils all over the place.

Like the dress. Unhappy to see that she has that look of permanent surprise that unfortunate plastic surgery can give. Hope it’s just an overdose of botox and wears off.

  • Does she have Bell’s Palsy? Her face was never that lopsided – it looks painful.

    • Amy Ennis

I was wondering that also. Not to be mean. I’ve had it before, and when I did, no matter how hard I tried, only half of my face would smile.

  • At least she’s not dressed like Nancy Botwin.

  • Jackie4g

    Gorgeous dress. Lush color.

    • jenno1013

Cranberry I can buy.  Not maroon.  I was thinking this was more “brick” than maroon, but cranberry works.  Maroon is bluer.

  • Love the color!

  • neofashionista

Beautiful dress and color suits her but I will never understand why she is incapable of doing her hair any other way and why she has such n aversion to hair brushes

  • decormaven

Shot #3 cracks me up! As for the look, there needs to be a stronger piece of jewelry than that necklace to compete with the saturated color and sheen of the fabric.

  • Jennifer Coleman

She looks like she took a nap in the limo. A long one. But kudos to her for not wrinkling that beautiful dress!

  • B_C_J

Beautiful dress, wonderful color, perfect fit but the hair is simply a disaster.  Her makeup could also use some improvement.

  • Mary229

I sort of love the dress.  I’d love to see this with more chic hair and make-up.

  • Trisha26

Just an okay dress, but she looks so darn stiff & unkempt.

  • Melissa Brogan

That hair is a crazy ass mess. Makeup’s not that great either, but oh man her hair. Dress is ok I guess, but doesn’t look like it fits her in the bust that well.

  • meridian5

That blush makes it look like someone slapped her on one side of her face right before the pic was taken.

  • Michael Owens

The face doesn’t match the actress. Who the hell is that posing as Mary-Louise Parker. She looks nothing like her (anymore.) Less, and more discriminating, work is better.

  • She’s always been that sort of disheveled person.  It’s her quirk.  I like her.  Her hair looks like shit though.  As someone with none, if you have some, you have a responsibility to make it look nice.

  • Did I miss the commentary? Or has this actually rendered TLo speechless?

  • Amy Ennis

I have hair like this. It turns to Cocker Spaniel hair instantly, and the shorter I cut it, the curlier and more out of control it gets. What do you suggest ladies like us do with hair like that? For this look, I would have gone for an updo.

  • i have loved mary louise since she played the valium addicted mormon housewife in angels in america.  and weeds was priceless.

  • butter nut

why does she not even try?
