Kylie Minogue in Dolce&Gabbana

Posted on October 05, 2012

Kylie darling, you look utterly adorable.

Kylie Minogue attends ‘Holy Motors’ photocall during Rio de Janeiro Film Festival in a Dolce&Gabbana dress.

Dolce&Gabbana Floral Print Dress

What a cute dress. We suppose the addition of the sleeves might make it look a little mature, but the gold peeptoes keep it on the fun and youthful side.  And her hair looks great.

      Love everything about this!

    • iheartbuffy

It makes for a more interesting piece with the sleeves: without it’s just another sleeveless floral print dress.

      • BerlinerNYC

Exactly. I scrolled down to make the same comment that everyone else is apparently making. The print makes much more of an impact with the sleeves included.

    • Vanja

I like the dress better with the sleeves and that’s a lovely flower print.

    • Sobaika

Sooo cute! I love the sleeves. I love all dresses with sleeves.

    • BazoDee

That a great dress on her. But it seems a bit spring/summery doesn’t it? And I’m not sold on the shoes….Oh wait -she’s in Rio -nevermind! Love it all!

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1180158327 James Figueiredo

THEORETICALLY, it’s spring here in Brazil, but the searing heat would fool anyone into thinking summer never ended.

        • BazoDee

She looks so cool and not the least bit hot and bothered.

    • imspinningaround

Utterly adorable is the perfect way to describe this look.

(I don’t even know why I comment on Kylie posts, because I adore her so, so much and I am incapable of being objective about her.)

      • Celandine1

But you are totally correct here, she IS utterly adorable in this look! She also looks carefree and younger than more recent pics I have seen. Not that she looked older in them, but this is so fresh.

    • Larkin21

Stunning dress and I can’t get over how great her hair and make-up look. Great shoes too.

      • iheartbuffy

The Sleeved Dress + Gold shoes are a MUCH better combo than what the D & G has on

    • http://stitchingincircles.etsy.com Tina

love the adjustment to the neckline, too.

      • alyce1213

Absolutely. She (or her stylist) really knew what to do

      • littlemac8

Question:  We all know stars borrow dresses (successfully, frequently) and shoes (less successfully).  Who knows what happens when a designer garment is re-worked like this?  Does the star request alterations and then buy the dress.  It happens often enough that inquiring minds want to know???

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

She looks terrific. And that smile is beguiling.

      • StellaZafella

She wrinkles her nose…it makes me smile back!

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/VEUOKQSCLLGXFYMWS7C7Z3X72Y NotToo

      She is 44??!!

      • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

Wow. I mean, when you think about it, I suppose she is, but day-um. She doesn’t look 44. At all.

        • alyce1213

This is what 44 looks like now. Or can, anyway.  She’s fabulous.
Then again, you have the Lindsay Lohans who look like 44 in their 20s.

    • Cousin_Rose

      Pretty near perfect.

    • Rand Ortega

She looks delicious. Gotta give it a WERQ!

    • hughman

I love how, unlike Madonna (who granted, is 4 or 5 hundred years older), she didn’t feel compelled to tart it up with gloves or some hat to remind us how she’s “relevant” or whatever.

    • SapphoPoet

      Pretty!

    • PinkLemon

holy eff, i need this dress.

      • PinkLemon

aaaaaaand THAT is how you do below-the-knee.

    • jw_ny

So why is this not a WERQ?  It’s perfect.

    • tereliz

I love it with the sleeves! So much more chic! Perfectly suited to her figure.

    • kimmeister

Love everything about this look.  Her makeup is soft and non-draggy.

    • nannypoo

It’s not the sleeves that make it look mature. It’s that damn length. My grandmother would have worn this length. She felt it was ladylike to cover the back of the knees, which she felt was the ugliest part of a woman’s body.

      • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I also have a problem with the length. Just hitting the knee would have been better I think.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3JSTXMWWVZN2QNP2UEKJMTWD7U Isabel

She looks younger than ever. I need her Fountain of Youth.

      Great dress

    • jilly_d

      WERQ!

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

She looks fantastic. That dress could look really schlumpy on the wrong person but she looks like a million bucks and about 15 years younger than she actually is. What more could a gal want?

    • sk8tfan

I actually prefer it with the sleeves. She looks adorable.

    • alyce1213

She looks better than the model.  Perfect.
      Love those shoes.

      • curiouserandcuriousest

Not least because those shoes fit perfectly! It really finishes off a gorgeous look.

    • ballerinawithagun

Love this! The placement of the floral pattern is much better on Kylie’s dress. When a print is this beautiful, I love seeing more of it with the addition of the sleeves. And I’m really tired of everyone going sleeveless; very few people have Michelle’s arms. The gold shoes are fabulous and pick up the tones of the leaves without being matchy-matchy.

    • http://www.facebook.com/AdriannaGrezak Adrianna Grężak

I don’t care for that print, but I think she looks great regardless

    • DeGuz

Wow, she looks fresh in a dress that would make any other woman look matronly!

    • http://www.thirteen.org/insidethirteen Gotham Tomato

      I LOVE this dress!!!

The sleeves might make it look more mature, but that depends on what they’re hiding. If they’re hiding toned arms, yes. If they’re hiding jiggly flags, no.

    • MilaXX

      Great look, full stop.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

What a fantastic look!  She’s even made me fall in love with gold peep-toes, and I never thought that would happen.

    • http://twitter.com/meredeth_gwyn Meri

Wonderful! The print is lovely and doesn’t overwhelm her, which it easily could, and the shoes are fab. Part of me would have loved a sleek little belt.

    • TSkot

      WERQ

    • PeaceBang

      100% beautiful and appropriate.

    • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

      Simply lovely.

    • poggi

I love this, especially with the sweetheart neckline and sleeves. I want this (I csn’t have it but I want it).

    • SewingSiren

      Love.

    • Qitkat

So adorable. It’s great to see prints like this being utilized by designers correctly, as they could go so horribly wrong, in the placement, colors, dress style. I would be a little intimidated in sewing even a simple pattern (the dress pattern) like this, knowing how well I laid out the fabric pattern would make or break it.

And am I too much of a geek to still wish she could have been a longer companion of the Tenth Doctor? They had chemistry!

    • DylanCurtis

      Love it!

    • ojosazules

Delicious dress. Sleeves seem more seasonal.

    • Janet B

      Love the print.

    • unbornfawn

      I like it.

    • Contralto

Very nice!  Almost demure, which is rather amazing for her.

    • frannyprof

      Pretty!

    • siriuslover

She looks GREAT! And I love the dress as it is on her than on the model. I like the cut around the bodice especially.

    • scrappy1

The gold shoes were a stroke of genius.

    • DCSheehan

I love a good floral dress and this is a great floral dress. Love this look hair to shoe.

    • Marcela86

What a refreshing look! This should be her style! I’m so tired of sparkling little dresses
      .

    • https://twitter.com/LisaF1163 Lisa

This is just really fresh and pretty and different on her.  I love it, and I”m crazy about the shoes!

    • MoHub

Except for the print, it’s really not the same dress at all; it’s an improvement on the original. The sleeves make it more interesting, and the sweetheart neckline is far more flattering than the original U-scoop.

    • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

WERQ! how is this not a WERQ!

      • Melvis Velour

        word!

    • mhleta

Why is she relevant again? In my mind she’s in the same mental folder with Terrence Trent D’arby. Who? Exactly.

dont be a sourpuss. she makes a very specific kind of music, and if you happen to like that genre, shes one of the best, and a living legend. there is so much joy in her work.

    • quiltrx

I actually like it better with the sleeves.  She looks great!

    • Patricia Gillett

I want to wear that dress and those shoes in Rio!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Louise-Bryan/1177213326 Louise Bryan

I like it much better with the sleeves.

    • leave_Blake_alone

This deserves a WERQ! Everything is flawless.

    • http://twitter.com/Nanskatoon Nancy Skaggs

To those commenting that it’s too long- she may be at an event where she needs to be seated in front of an audience. Many err on the too-short side and forget that it’s all too easy to give the crowd a free show… smart Kylie may have kept the length to refrain from flashing the goods.

    • DesertDweller79

I like it better with the sleeves as, apparently, everyone else does.

    • understateddiva

      snaps up!

    • pokokpuding

      WHAT a beautiful print.

    • afabulous50

      Stu-fucking-pendous!

    • Cathy S

So cute. And I love it with the sleeves–much better than the sleeveless version.

    • Kyle Crawford

WHO did not need a little dose of Kylie this morning ??? Thank you!

    • librarygrrl64

So fresh and pretty. Maybe too spring-like, though. Well, she is an Aussie, so this is her spring. ;-) I think the sleeves are an improvement on this one.

    • Lisa Kramp

Thank you boys, for this morning bit of happy.

    • guest2visits

Very pretty dress, – with or without sleeves; but I think I prefer the simpler neckline on the model-version.  Kylie’s looking pretty too.

    • B_C_J

Beautiful dress – so feminine – and the styling is ten time s better than the model’s.

    • neofashionista

      LOVE THIS ABSOLUTELY!
