IN or OUT: Kerry Washington in Mary Katrantzou

Posted on October 30, 2012

Darlings, we need to work through the following issue together. You see, we don’t know quite what to think of this look. Let’s all sit in a circle and talk out our feelings.

Kerry Washington attends the premiere of ‘The Details’ in Los Angeles in a Mary Katrantzou dress paired with a Christian Louboutin clutch and pumps.

Mary Katrantzou Spring 2013 Collection/Model: Carolina Thaler

Christian Louboutin Pigalle Spike Clutch Bag

Let’s start with this, since it sums up our problem. That close up of her face, in 3/4 profile? Stunning. Makeup looks great; hair looks gorgeous. Every other shot of her looks like she has a pinhead. The whole look is like that; from certain angles, it looks great: bold, colorful and fierce. From other angles it starts to look a little garish or not particularly shape-flattering. Even the accessories have us stumped. Black would seem to be a no-brainer, and we love the purse and the pumps. But we’re not sure they’re the best choices to frame the outfit. We don’t know, kittens. There’s a lot here to like, but we seem to be struggling to talk ourselves into loving it.

Vote Now!

IN! You don’t have to talk ME into it!

OUT! Postage stamp pinhead with pumps.

Poor Solange has been waiting a week to hear what you all thought of her heavy column of a dress. You all hated it. Or enough of you did to tip the vote to OUT.

The more I look at it, the crazier it gets, but I’m going with my initial impression and giving this an IN. That neckline is great on her- she has such beautiful shoulders.

    • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

I agree.  Love the fun print and her hair & makeup.

  • Karen Belgrad

She is wearing a postcard from my next vacation.  Out.

  • A. W.

Out. That dress requires somebody who is loooooong, elongated (like the model). While Kerry looks fantastic in the face, she’s just not quite the right body type.

    • kschwarting

I think you’ve nailed it.  The hair and makeup are great, but the dress just hangs on her and makes her look shorter.

      • julesj

Looks like she is wearing a colorful bag.

    • 3boysful

Exactly.  She lost half the print in the hemming up.  Also, the sleeveless-ness and print give it a tropical vibe, thus it cries for sandals rather than pumps.  But her face is gorge.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

      My thoughts exactly!  Out.

  • http://smalltownbigwardrobe.com/ Catherine

If the dress was more fitted at her waist, instant werq. Still, it’s striking, and I think she did the accessories right. IN for making crazy (barely) work.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Totally agreed. Just a slightly more shaped silhouette and it’d be so much better. But still an IN.

I don’t know why the lady stars spent all summer in autumn colours and now they are busting out the summer prints. Are they working on the fashion calendar now?

  • http://twitter.com/tangodiva Tanya Wade

She didn’t put “a” bird on it. She put two.

    IN. (she’s so pretty, sigh…)

  • http://twitter.com/grooxcore Marie Ee

In. Mostly gorgeous, although I agree that the black was not the best option to punctuate the outfit, especially since the bottom of the dress is already black. But still a concrete in.

  • http://twitter.com/glastea Coralie

I think this is actually an occasion where the dress needed the extra length it had on the model, to balance the bright print, as well as fitting the dress properly. The accessories are kickass but not right; I think she needed some yellow, at least in the clutch. No complaints about the hair, though! On average, she’s borderline but I’ll go OUT.

    • Pants_are_a_must

Agreed. The extra fabric at the bottom of the dress would’ve weighed it down enough to fix some of the fit problems. All in all, it’s not an easy dress to werq and I’m not sure she’s one of those people who can werq difficult dresses either. OUT.

    • SapphoPoet

      Yep–needs to be longer.

  • Anathema_Device

Out. This falls into the category of a look I WANT to like, but it just isn’t coming together. As much as I adore bold print dresses, this one has a few too many elements going on in the print and the dress design: one or the other needs to be more subdued.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/63F4DF4VDHSF2LPYOSWO5ZHAGU AdrienneD

In, with points for being adventurous pushing it over the top.

  • curiouserandcuriousest

Oh, her hair and make up is gorgeous! I’m giving it an IN – the pinhead effect is not terrible to me, and I like the way the texture of the clutch mimics the patterning of the dress. And it’s such an interesting dress!

  • Janet B

This is a dress for a very tall woman.  Kerry is standing on her tiptoes trying to convince us she’s tall.
    OUT

  • MilaXX

I’m on the fence about this. I think it gets a small IN. Yes the dress does remind me of a postage stamp, but it’s cute and colorful. The picture from the chest up is really pretty. Hair and makeup are really cute. Those are the lashes, minus the cats eye liner that I wish Michelle Pfeiffer was wearing. I like the black accessories because I think choosing a color would have taken this into Katy Perry cartoon territory. My biggest quibble is this is the second dress in this sack shape she has worn and I don’t think that it works for her figure. This time it’s not enough to vote her completely OUT.

    • random_poster

Good summary. I give it an IN for the same reasons.

  • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

It looks like a travel poster. Out.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

OUT. It’s just terrible shaped on her, and the collar around her neck is the final straw.  I immediately thought post card or postage stamp when I saw it.

  • MissMariRose

Out. That dress is terrible. First, it has a large horizontal line at the widest part of her hips. Then, to make matters worse, the stamps at the bottom of the dress give the illusion of widening her further. The final insult is the neckline which narrows her up top (notice that it fits right into the negative space between the bottom stamps). The whole thing gives the impression that she’s a giant triangle, ready to be shipped overseas.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Linda-Harris/1358701372 Linda Harris

    out

  • http://twitter.com/mirrormirrorxx Paola Thomas

I think it’s because she’s cut the bottom of the dress off so that it no longer tapers inwards, but flares out above the knee.  Not half as flattering…

  • Rhonda Shore

LOVE the shoes on the model, which somehow balance the dress.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

A counterintuitive IN.  A lot of stuff shouldn’t work here, yet I think it does.

  • http://twitter.com/Merneith Merneith

OUT – but I hate to say it. I’m crazy in love with the dress. You know, I think it’s the black accessories. Especially the shoes. The hair I don’t mind, although it’s a weird silhouette. But it’s just hair. I think the spiky clutch is all wrong for this and the shoes are just boring.

  • Jessica O’Connell

IN. I think she looks terrific! A breath of fresh air after all the hellish wind we’ve been dealing with!

  • B_C_J

The print is terrific. Her hair and makeup are perfect. However, the dress is giving her a pear shape that is most unflattering.  The model is wearing a gown that seems to be much more tubular. Ms. Washington’s dress is almost A-line. If it makes you look heavy when you are not, then the dress is OUT!

  • Le_Sigh

Out.  Want to like, but too many little things bug.

  • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Chain letter with a worldwide collection of stamps.  She’s gorgeous, but the dress is too literal for my taste and her lipstick color isn’t working for me.  Out.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

    IN

  • golden_valley

That dress is a collection of stamps from exotic foreign places.  I’ll bet it looked great on a mannequin, but on a real human being it is just strange.

  • mjude

OUT.  it reminds me something out of my vintage collage art book.

  • http://profiles.google.com/denise.alden Denise Alden

IN.  I know there’s a lot not quite right here, but I really love Mary Katrantzou.

  • StillGary

In. She gets a lot of extra credit for above the sternum — maybe it was a mistake cutting the bottom of dress off like that although it is a confusing print.

  • http://twitter.com/TheKarishmaster TheKarishmaster

Out… looks like an oversized printed tote from somewhere like Machu Picchu that was somehow turned into a dress.

  • ojosazules

    Love it. In.

  • Judy_J

I think she’s suffering from the same thing Michelle Pfeiffer had going on with her outfit….lack of proper accessorization.  My likes outweigh my dislikes with this, so I’m saying IN…..’cause I really, really like that dress.

  • lalahartma

    In!

  • http://twitter.com/acleg10 Alexandra Simons

This weirdly reminds me of the gown RuPaul wore last night on All Stars – a busy print, but really striking. I like this look on Kerry Washington. IN for me.

  • tessasouthworth

    In.

  • AuntJentie

    IN

  • SapphoPoet

I’m not sure it works altogether for the reasons you give. Also, I like the longer length on the model. BUT–I’m giving her an IN because it’s exciting and different. Her hair looks gorgeous, as does the makeup.

Is the fabric supposed to be a cancelled postage stamp?

  • Nazzzy

    IN. Stunning.

  • pookiesmom

I think she looks spectacular. So very much an “IN” from me.

  • Aarjullor

    In, she’s stunning!

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.parker Sara Parker

IN! I love it. I dunno, I’m just not feeling the critiques. This just makes me happy to look at. (And while I agree that maybe this dress wouldn’t flatter most women’s figures, this is Kerry Washington. Her body flatters the dress, not the other way around).

  • bertkeeter

Looks like the printed canvas sacks they used to send fruit from the tropics in!

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

I have a deep love for Mary Katrantzou so it’s IN for me! But her broken-neck pose in the first picture kind of freaks me out, and I feel like she could have pulled the lime, pink, turquoise, cobalt or purple from the dress to match her accessories too. I’d probably pick the cobalt for the shoes, pink for the clutch (maybe the baby pink from the flowers rather than the bright pink to soften it a little).

  • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

There are so many colors she could have picked up for the purse; I probably would have favored the purple in the “Greek Key” design across her hips.  Black shoes are the way to go.  Her makeup is wonderful and it’s perfect that her hair is back from her face & neck, so as not to overwhelm the dress, which is already a bit overwhelming.  Overall, IN.

  • gabbilevy

IN. It’s not perfect from every angle, but I like that it’s bold and different and she looks lovely. Doesn’t hurt that I love Mary Katrantzou.

  • nannypoo

If you want to look like you have a tiny bust and big hips, and you collect stamps, then this is the way to go.

  • kimmeister

Small in.  Love the cut of the shoulders and I’m glad she shortened it.  However, I have always disliked those spiky Louboutin pumps, and she went and wore them AND the exactly matching clutch!  (Which I would hate to have to hold all day.)

  • Pam Ridgely

    Unenthusiastic IN.

  • http://onebluetree.blogspot.ca/ Sara L.

IN. Love everything about this. WERQ worthy, in fact, for me.

  • suz72350

OUT. Any woman with a shape is doomed when wearing this dress. Are those curtains framing her ladyparts?

  • Qitkat

I appreciate Mary Katrantzou’s clever, inspired, off-beat design aesthetic, but this just looks like it was ripped off a twee nineteen fifties linen calendar towel meant to be lovingly brought out after hanging on the wall for it’s intended year, and then used to dry only the most precious china forever after. Or else it’s a gigantic image of a postage stamp from the Canary Islands.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/DNWEFT2SVBX5T3NPMROQCT4U2U jennyv

    IN.

  • http://twitter.com/democracydiva Democracy Diva

In. It’s the good kind of weird.

  • jw_ny

    IN

She looks lovely.   I cannot justify an OUT with that 3/4 profile shot of her looking so good.  The print is ugly, it’s rather shapeless at the waist, but I like the colors on her and the shape of the neckline/chest area.

  • LLuL

It looks so much better on the model I have to give her an OUT. She should not have worn earrings. The hoops are really distracting.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I like it! Kerry get an IN from me.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/W7A5N4G7FDTV5U2KOHBVSB55XI Basket

When I grow up and become a star, or famous for being that woman, the woman who did something insanely offensive or great or what have you, I am going to remind myself every single second of every day not to tilt my head when a camera is on me.  I hate deference shots.

  • tereliz

I’d like this dress with bigger hair, and more colorful, purposeful accessories. The shoes and clutch are too vampy edgy, and the dress needs something more mod, more fun, to work with the a-line and the pattern of the dress, not make her look like she grabbed the first shoes and clutch that looked like they went together.

Hesitant OUT, but an out, nonetheless.

  • Imasewsure

I say IN for the model’s longer, fitted version and OUT for Kerry’s (except as you mention, the 3/4 shot on her face which is very pretty. I’m still not sure I like Katrantzou’s work but it is interesting at least.

  • leftcoastpickle

In, because I love the birds and colour and pattern on this dress, despite the problems.
I wish it were more fitted and less sack like.
I wish there wasn’t a weird little crab like mouth right at her crotch level.  But she looks great.

  • mmc2315

OUT.  She’s need to be 6′ tall to pull it off.  Love the hair and make-up though!

  • Joyce VG

    This is weird. OUT.

  • Lisa Dugan

I’m saying In.  I love all the shots that are chest up and that wins it for me.

  • MsOlympia

I love it.  This is EXACTLY the kind of dress I would wear if I could afford it.  IN IN IN.  I don’t think every dress needs to be conventionally “flattering” and this dress has enough personality to not need sex appeal to sell it.  It has an unconventional shape – and that’s cool with me.

  • decormaven

From one angle, I’m loving her make-up and hair. From another, I’m not. The dress seems a bit resort to me, so I guess the stylist chose black accessories to upstyle the look- didn’t work. And if one is promo’ing a clutch, please hold it properly. Might as well be a baseball bat from the way it’s displayed.

  • Solokitty

I think the problem is with the bottom of the dress.  From the top of the pockets to the hem is too heavy with the black.  If it had the same light stripes, etc. from the top 2/3, it would work.

  • MissFern

    postage stamp pinhead!  too much!

  • BrooklynBomber

I think more bobble head than pinhead. It’s a cool dress but the colors and shape do nothing for her.

  • Judy_S

IN. If somebody has to wear that dress, it’s this lady.

  • understateddiva

Out.  Face looks gorge but she’s not pulling off the kookiness.

  • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

i dont know if its the fit (too loose) or the material (too heavy) or the shape (too sack’o'potatoes), but this is a little clumsy looking. still, IN because why-the-hell-not.

and i LOVE the shoes the model is wearing!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1476648069 Scott Cooper

It looks like a tablecloth.  Shapeless dresses are for shapeless women, and Ms. Washington isn’t.  Also, she needs a brighter lip.   And a bright pink shoe.  The clutch is OK, but I almost think a straw clutch might have been better.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Erin-Hines/620149309 Erin Hines

From the neck up: stunning, full stop. From the neck to the knees: Art-class watercolor on a cardboard box. no shape at all. From the knees down: damn girl!

  • Valdri8

They had to cut the bottom off of the dress to make it fit Kerry, and the large black band on the bottom of the runway dress helped to ground the dress. It is the classic issue of taking a dress made for a 6′ model and putting it on someone much shorter.

  • Carla_Charlton

At first I liked this, but when I saw the full figure photo, I didn’t think it was that flattering — too short, maybe?  She looks small, though, so even if this dress were longer, it still might make her look cut off.

  • NCDFan

In. It’s not perfect but I think she’s doing a lot for that dress. The unfitted sheath is pretty hard to wear especially with all that pattern on it but it’s not too tight in any region, her tummy looks flat, and they adjusted the length pretty well (unshortened it would have been way too long and they didn’t shorten it too much.) Her hair style tends to elongate her face a bit too much but it is a pretty style and not messy the way too many wear their hair and her makeup is perfect.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1149383598 Jane Strain

    In.  It looks fresh.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5UQHEKG5EDX4T6NMARUC565TPQ Amy

I give her an in just for making a dress that busy actually look pretty chic.

  • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

OUT! Everything is fabulous except for the dress, which is a horror maybe only Swinton or Blanchette could rock.

  • karena10

Out.  Her hair and make-up are fine, but neither the print or the silhouette do her any favors.

  • Kate4queen

IN for interesting and I love Mary Katrantzou.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1344314000 Anne Meek White

It’s not “bleige” and it’s not a bandage dress. I give it an IN.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Kimberly-Burke/100002384493067 Kimberly Burke

Tit birds and cooch square. OUT.

  • Tracy_Flick

    I don’t… it’s just…. I… Hmm. IN. Overall, I think it works.

  • margaret meyers

In.  How can she look so beautiful and be out?

  • l_c_ann

    in

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/4ISGBSLPUD6DGVKZ4ITVM63OVI Mary Alice

In, although lose the black shoes.

  • EEKstl

Scrolling back and forth between KW and the model, who I think is actually wearing the dress better, it came to me: Kerry’s biggest issue with this look is that the dress is just too big on her.  If she went down a size and it skimmed her body the way as it does on the model, the pinhead issue would be solved and it would look far better.  I’m still giving her an IN, though, because her hair and makeup are flawless and it is a really great dress.  Just wish it were a size or two smaller.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/KBNJ6GJTXYEE6BON3WGK6KEGT4 Elizabeth

OUT. That big globe thing on the front looks like a logo for an airline. It’s like the birds are saying, “Come Fly With Us.” Still, I give her major props for being adventurous. But this is just a crazy print too far.

  • TSkot

Her pose in the first pic says it all:  ”Yeah, I know, I just loved the dress on the model and thought I could pull it off.” OUT

  • Trixkat

She is a gorgeous woman and I’ve been a fan since I saw her chew up the scenery in a Law & Order episode.  The dress looks like a mural you’d find in the breakfast nook of a Newport “cottage” and in fact there’s a whiff of Bunny Mellon in this whole look – for these reasons I give Kerry an IN.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5LU5C262WB3Z5F4WZ6QGKXLNLE JaneM

Postage stamp with table cloth trim. OUt.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/47S737MGWCAZEZ73QOAFKDFEKQ Jill

She looks frest and lovely.  IN.

  • Judih1

Even though she is in LA, this seems like a summer frock. Unless she wore a fierce black turtleneck and black boots with it. But for originality I will give her an IN, but I think this look would have been better on someone taller

She always looks like a pin head to me. She is super thin and has that big forehead.

  • aristida_girl

IN! I love the graphic print…

  • rloliveira

I think it looks like a dress you would wear at a Caribbean resort for dinner with some flat sandals and a drink with an umbrella in it.

  • Trisha26

Out – she’s being strangled by her mail.

  • Snailstsichr

small in. I wish the dress was fitted a little better, but it is so fabulous I just can’t go with out.

  • warontara

If I look at it unbiased, I am on the fence because of all the issues you pointed out. BUT she is on the top of my Celebrity Girl Crush list, so that tips it over: In.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

IN. I love this wacky print and love that one side is a mirror of the other. The proportions of the dress were thrown off when a good chunk of the black at the bottom was taken out for shortening. Definitely a dress for a taller woman, but I’m sticking with my IN.

  • http://www.nykola.com/ Ambra Nykol

Love the dress and the makeup. Hate hate the hair. Keri needs to get a better weaveologist because her weaves are consistently terrible.

  • ballerinawithagun

Out. Initially I thought Mary Katrantzou was a genius. But now she just seems like a one trick pony. (Or is that monkey???) Kerry Washington is still beautiful though.

  • BobStPaul

The neckline and colors are very flattering and she does look great in the close-ups.  The dress as a whole doesn’t work, however, and on that basis I’d give it an out.

  • lesmaha

    Out. it’s just not working.

  • greyhoundgirl

Maybe she’s not tall enough for this look.  Out.

  • Stephanie Barton

out. the dress is too boxy on her.

  • Eva_baby

reluctant OUT.  Love the hair, makeup etc.  Also think the dress is amazingly striking.  But on her it is too short and she isn’t selling it.  Looks so much better on the model.

  • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

IN. Love it and it’s interesting.

  • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

I don’t think the black accessories work because of the heavy black border on the bottom of the dress–it just kinda Debbie Downer’s the whole shebang.

  • Introspective

It’s oddly shaped for her height and figure but it’s cute and the brightness suits her skin tone. Her hair /makeup are fab too. What could have been bad is overall pretty good. In with a small i.

  • trisker

IN.  love Mary Katrantzou AND accessories.  Pinhead only happens at a certain angle.  IN.

  • Call me Bee

Look how cute she is with birds on her boobs!  IN!!

Out. Looks like an old flour sack.

  • Julia McLean

    Love, in!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

From the shoulders up, it’s fantastic. It just doesn’t work from the chest down. OUT.

  • lolaleen

I’m going with IN, but I wish that dress were just a top with a black or white skirt. Perhaps that’s too boring, but I think just the top is busy enough to make it an interesting outfit.

  • Wanda45

When a lovely woman is transformed into a human postage stamp….OUT!!! OUT, I say!!!!

  • Sara__B

Out. The more I look the less I like.

  • e jerry powell

I’m with the faction that says she isn’t tall enough.  Plus which, I need to be behind the row of photographers, wildly motioning to her to stand up straight.  Girlfriend is fierce, but she needs to consult with Vanessa Williams on how to work a red carpet.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1303837450 Lauren Dorsee Dillon

IN with reservations. Bag should have been bright blue, shoes are fine but boring. Dress is very cool but not really on her. Hair and makeup are superb. So IN if only because I leaned on the fence.

  • ThaliaMenninger

IN. I’m fine with almost everything. I wish the clutch were smaller and the hair were bigger, but otherwise, I’m good.

  • another_laura

Naaah, it’s Out.  Sorry, but she cannot overcome that dress.

IN-it would only be out if it was bad from every angle.

  • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

I want to love this for the colors, but it’s so shapeless… OUT

  • unbornfawn

OUT. It’s not her dress. This is a dress for someone with a much bolder personality.

  • alwaysanswerb

Hmm. On the model, the dress appears to fall straight down, sleek. On Kerry, it appears like it has a bit more of a tent shape, which is unflattering and widens here. I love the idea behind the bold print, but it’s not worth it if it makes you look bigger than you are. OUT.

  • http://twitter.com/iraki86 IraKi

I love it. Colourful (check). A colour that suits her (check). Flawless hair and make up (check). Proper accessories (check). IN

    In. Very funky.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

    What? No, she’s PERFECT.

    Big ol’ IN.

  • sweet_potato

I don’t know about the dress, it’s interesting, maybe not the best for Miss Kerry. She looks a little lost in it.  I love, love, love her hair, so IN.

  • http://twitter.com/kerrymccombs Kerry McCombs

I kinda like it for being different and a little bit retro? And kinda weird too.

    IN.

  • Sing4yursupper

Oh, that dress. It makes her look like a painted clothes pin.

  • demidaemon

I like this from the waist up, hate it from hips to knee, then am fine with it from the knees down. I think, though, for face alone, which so many female celebs manage to muck up, I am going to give her an IN.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Louise-Bryan/1177213326 Louise Bryan

They sure had to lop off a lot of dress to get the hem right on Kerry.  It’s kind of a shame, because it really doesn’t look right on her.  The neckline’s great for her, but the rest of it just looks like a sack.  A really quiet out; sorry, Kerry.

  • LilyPad

Unique and stunning, just like Kerry! This one gets a big IN from me.

  • up with pod people

She’s glorious, I can’t get enough of her. In in in.

OUT — she can’t carry off the proportions (which weren’t helped by shortening the hem).  Note the model cleverly put her hands in the pockets to make it more form-fitting.  Kerry can’t do that all evening.

    Apron. Out.

In, it’s a breath of fresh air.

In. She looks like she knows she is pulling off a joke on us, and just can’t keep that smile off her face. Plus she did the smart thing and shortened the dress. It looks so much better on her than on the model.

Out…it looks much better in the full length.  And the hairdo makes her appear to have an enormous, pointy head.

IN.  It’s just wacky enough to be awesome.

The outfit would have to be atrocious for me to vote out on Kerry Washington.  As it is, she looks gorgeous and is pulling it off: IN.

In. It looks better on her than the model and even a pinhead can’t diminish that flawless face.

They sure had to lop off a lot of dress to get the hem right on Kerry.  It’s kind of a shame, because it really doesn’t look right on her.  The neckline’s great for her, but the rest of it just looks like a sack.  A really quiet out; sorry, Kerry.

I’m feeling an In. It’s a fun, playful dress.

anyone else notice that the flower/bird looks quite a bit like the Iowa state bird (Eastern goldfinch) atop the Iowa state flower (wild rose). google it. I hope all of our next vacations are to exotic Iowa!

A mild “in.” Nothing is really bothering me, but the look isn’t exactly setting me afire, either.

    This looks great to me!
