GIrl, that’s not your dress.  Actually, I’m not convinced that it’s a dress at all, more like an apron for metalworking.

    • Judi Townsend

      AMEN

      • http://korilian.livejournal.com/ korilian

Maybe Tony finally let her into his workshop.

  • Trisha26

She looks as though she’s been vacu-sealed.

    • Clueless_Jock

      LOL

      • Funkykatt

        LOL again

        • http://remedialstitcher.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

And again! Hahahahahaahahaha. I really don’t like Gwyneth.

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

    Too tight. Conveniently wipe-clean though.

  • http://twitter.com/carlaaxt Carla Axtman

The thing is so tight that it looks like she’s about to pop a seam.

  • ChaCha_70

    Model, fierce. Gwyneth, eh.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

Not a good choice as a dress to be photographed in. The light just bounces right off it.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sarah.souffriau Sarah Souffriau

She looks so old in these pictures. You can do better Gwyn!

  • Contralto

    Oh, Gwynnie.  No.

  • mhleta

You can’t just wear a leather dress. You have to WEAR a leather dress. It needs more intention behind it. Yeah, this isn’t her dress. Her face is too gentle to carry this fierce dress. It’s like putting Care Bear stickers on a Ducati.

    • kschwarting

Care Bear stickers on a Ducati.  -snicker-

It doesn’t look awful on her, though there is something decidedly wonky going on in the midsection.

  • ecksor

Total cognitive dissonance. This dress needs gravitas, she is too next-doory and unsubstantial.

    • http://twitter.com/grooxcore Marie Ee

I love it when someone uses gravitas on the internet.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

It’s a cute dress, but to tight on her. Which is saying a lot, considering how tiny she is. I like the dress, but the patent leather shoes don’t quite work with it.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NUZ2RGIDRXKK6ADHFPPCR6S3WI MariaM

You know, I think the only way to wear leather is tight.  I think the model version is too loose and Gwyn looks better. I applaud your vision if you can even see the shoes!

  • Vaniljekjeks

That can be a fierce look on someone, but it’s boring on you.   Girl, that’s not your dress.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Yup, it has a hot, 80s vibe that I find appealing, but Gwennie isn’t the person to wear it. Can’t think of who tho – anyone?

      • MilaXX

         KStew

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Mmm, yes. And for some reason I think, Geena Davis?

  • MissMariRose

As many times as I’ve seen her in garments that do nothing for her bosoms, I’m convinced that Gwen doesn’t like her girls very much.

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

She certainly doesn’t showcase them well.

  • Monabel

Possibly, on the model. On her, too tight.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000393765005 Garcia Loca

Great dress, but too tight on her. Makes her look like a bobblehead.

  • MilaXX

Top looks too tight and i don’t like the patent leather shoes with the dress.

    • l_c_ann

You mean she wears Leather?  Even Patent leather, in addition to the dress?

  • nowlo

    Garbage bag dress

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Louise-Bryan/1177213326 Louise Bryan

The lighting for Gwynneth’s  photograph was unfortunate.  For the model, it was planned for perfection.  The dress does seem a little tight on Gwynnie, though.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

    Fem-bot tits.

  • rloliveira

    I think she looks great.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_NUZ2RGIDRXKK6ADHFPPCR6S3WI MariaM

me too. In fact, I think she looks better than the model, whose version has the dress pulling across the hips.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=578222184 Burt Perkins

Looks a cross between the costumes of Hellraiser and Dune.

  • eowyn_of_rohan

All I can think of is the inevitable sweaty underboob.  Can almost smell it, too.

  • Jacqueline Wessel

She looks unfortunate in these pictures. Dress looks great on the model but not on Gwyneth. Too bad, she could look so much better that this.

  • enchanted216

Hmmmmm.  Cute dress, I think, but it’s too tight across the chest:(  Don’t like the shoes.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1149383598 Jane Strain

I do not see the dress as too tight. . . OK, well maybe across the boobs–but not anywhere else.  I view the fabric as one that does not photograph well with many flash camera lights.  Drab hair and boring accessories.  I like the cut and shape of the dress.  I would probably like it if I saw it in person rather than under gleaming bright lights.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

I don’t know what is going on, but her head looks absolutely enormous here. The shape of that skirt is unfortunate. I feel like it could have worked without the sleeves and with a skirt that flared a bit more from the hip. She also needs to lose the “I shop exclusively at Hot Topic” hair and makeup, and have some fun with shoes and jewelry. It all seems so dire.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

    My.  Irrational.  Hatred.  Showing.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1629311043 Marjean Fieldhouse

Christia Hendricks could look molten hot in this dress, provided someone else accessorized it

    • 3boysful

       I don’t know . . . if it’s tight on Gwynnie’s boobs . . . ?

    • l_c_ann

If it were fit to Christina H, which would mean first find the size that fits her bust, and then take in the rest of the dress.  But, yes, it would have great potential.

It’s just, we’ve seen so many misses in fit.

  • SophieCollier

If it were a little looser in the chest/shoulders, it would be awesome.  Still, I like this look for her.

  • quiltrx

Serious fit issues.  If it can make Ms Toothpick Homemaker look stuffed into it, I don’t think this is ANYONE’s dress.

And flurfy Gwynnie and a leather dress should never meet!

  • lucasuk82

Leather just never seems to work for a dress.  It always looks like the wearer’s breasts must be aching, or like poorly fitted protective gear.  GP has a little of both.  It makes for a sexy skirt, which is still just unconventional to be interesting.

  • rumrum

only because she has a rib cage…

  • EverybodysStarling

If I’d pay thousands of dollars for a designer dress (and have it altered for my body by a tailor), I’d expect something that doesn’t look so puckered and misfitted. But I guess she got it for free.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1355527007 Rain Jezek

This is a great lesson on why fitting is so important. On the model it looks fantastic, and on Gwyneth Paltrow it’s pulling at all the wrong places and makes her body look strange.

    • l_c_ann

Exactly.  When the runway photo looks that great, and the Gwennie looks that odd, it’s gonna be a great new day.

  • decormaven

So the perfume bottle is black, the celeb is there to debut the fragrance, and she’s wearing black? Oh stylist, try to think a little outside the box. Choose an outfit that evokes the fragrance, excites the senses, and most importantly, inspires us to consider purchasing the perfume.

  • tsid2012

Very poor fit, “Girl next door” hair is totally wrong and the shoes….. well, just WRONG all around. A better fit, sleek ponytail, darker, edgy makeup and BIG earrings finished with an ankle boot in deep burgundy or a embellished strappy sandal and she MIGHT have pulled this off.  Plus, her posture and face all scream, “They made me wear this dress, I know it’s all kinds of wrong so I give up.”

  • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

    Of course.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/47S737MGWCAZEZ73QOAFKDFEKQ Jill

She looks shiny all over.  I think the light is bouncing off the leather making her arms and face look fluorescent.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1303837450 Lauren Dorsee Dillon

She looks like Claire Danes here, albeit Claire Danes who has attempted to compensate for her terrible head cold by shellacking on the foundation and prettying up her hair. No matter how hard poor sick Claire tries, however, she cannot do anything about her sick sunken zombie eyes. So she donned a tight lead smock to avoid getting radiation poisoning on top of everything else.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Clydette-Wantland/673315286 Clydette Wantland

    I don’t like it.  Boo.

  • B_C_J

This is not attractive. It’s not the worst look in the world but the fit is definitely off. The dress is so tight that it almost flattens her bust to the point that it melds with her torso. (See the last photo.) I like the cap sleeves and the length but leather is a tough fabric to wear and this dress is a perfect example of that.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mary-Stone/100001328135240 Mary Stone

Gurl, that’s not your welder’s apron

  • oohsparkley!

I think she looks great!  It’s a little tight in the bust, but not painfully so. She looks better than the model to me.

  • lesmaha

she looks bored and boring–what’s up with that? How can someone make a leather dress boring?

  • http://remedialstitcher.blogspot.com/ Sara Leigh Merrey

Hate it (and her). She’s got a sort of Stepford-wife thing going on in her eyes and smile. Maybe this is pod-Gwyneth.

  • unbornfawn

    She’s looking like Sandra Lee.

  • Melissa Brogan

Leather dresses are a tough sell and I’m not sure she’s selling it here, plus her eye makeup looks a little…heavy. BUT I must praise Gwynnie for the hair. Love that it’s not her usual stick straight center part.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=720946720 Carolyn Smrcka

Leather doesn’t always look good with a lot of seams.  That’s what I think.  FInd me something else to prove me wrong, but I think that’s what the problem is.
