Emma Roberts in L.A.

Posted on October 26, 2012

Hi, Emma Roberts!

Emma Roberts shopping in Los Angeles.

Since that was the very definition of the “I’m waving but I’m not stopping to say hello” move, we won’t take up any of your time except to say your kicky little red shoes are cute.

Mind you, nothing else you’re wearing works for us. Honestly, those pa- right. Okay, then.

Good talk, hon!

Ronald McDonald is going to be really pissed she took his shoes.

Those are the new “Emma” sunglasses, aren’t they? I guess she’s going to be outdoors in daylight a lot for a few months.

  • kschwarting

What does everyone else thinking of the half-tucked shirt trend?  It’s everywhere these days, but I just don’t get it.

    • maggiemaggie

       It’s absurd.

    • snarkykitten

       agreed. it’s hideous

    • tereliz

I want to like it, when my shirt is slightly too tight and you can see the button on my jeans… but then I try it and I look like an ass. But I’ve seen it look cute with a button-down. Not in real life, mind you, just photos of off-duty models. Which means the rest of us have no chance in hell of making it look effortless.

In high school nary a day went by that I didn’t tuck in the front of my shirt, leaving the back untucked, however the right to left half-tuck feels like an April Fool’s Day prank played on us by stylists and fashion bloggers.

    • MilaXX

       looks stupid

    • TieDye64

      Looks silly.

    • http://onebluetree.blogspot.ca/ Sara L.

I used to do that because I’m allergic to nickel and the button on my jeans would make my belly break out in itchy bumps.

I don’t think that’s why the kids are doing it, though.

    • http://onionjam.tumblr.com SkipperJane

True confession? I like it with a button down, or the right type of t-shirt (not ribbed). I mainly like the look because it keeps you from looking too frumpy (with an untucked shirt), but avoids the mom-jeans/muffin-top phenomenon that accompanies totally tucking in the shirt on the sides and back.

Emma, however, has failed Half-Shirt-Tucking 101, as she has only tucked in about 1″ of her shirt front. This would look a lot better if she’d tucked in 3-4″ in the front.  Instead, she looks like her shirt is being sucked in by her navel.

    • LauraWL

I like it, mostly bc I am short and the shirts they make are so long nowadays that if I tucked in the whole shirt it would be this weird bubble above my pants waist and if I didn’t the hem would hit me below my hips. Seriously though. What happened to normal length shirts?

  • decormaven

Is that a Troll Doll on her keyring? Ah, she’s out and about and relaxed. Those look a lot like bowling shoes to my eye.

    • Judy P

It’s not a troll but definitely a doll of some sort. The hell? And yeah, love the color and the patent on the shoes, but those laces are bugging me.

    • Slashie SA

It looks like a Blythe doll

      • http://twitter.com/Cakewalk_Queen Lauren Cooper

        Yep, it’s a Petite Hollywood.

  • hyperionic

I actually love those pants. They’re really cute and so much more interesting than a pair of jeans.

  • http://www.thirteen.org/insidethirteen Gotham Tomato

    I love those sunglasses though.

  • granddelusion

Oh, no, no, no, no. The crotch on those pants is frightening.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Those pants are giving her a mind-bending illusory crotch, and her tee has a nipple vent. Can anything positive be said?

  • MilaXX

I could almost believe this was a real out running errands look and not a sponsored paparazzi walk if she wasn’t wearing those too big for her face  Nanette LePore sunglasses.

  • AmeliaEve

I want those shoes. Badly. And I love the same-color socks.

  • hughman

She’s trying to give Jon Hamm a run for his money in the crotch department, huh?

    • IAmJ

Thank you! That’s all I could see honestly.

Skinny, Skinny Jeans……an invention of the devil…they give you that crotch.

    • mountainFashionista

       Exhibit A: Polterwang

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/GLERYB7G4QX7Z5ED54AWP2JIMA Mary

the front hem of the shirt tucked in just above the button and everything else flopping free is making my eyes water.

“Hey kids!  Just got out of the scroungy gas-station restroom and didn’t pause to finish tucking my shirt in because it was so gross!!” is what says to me.  Either tuck or don’t tuck. There is no….tuck in the front only.

  • http://twitter.com/juliafoxtrot Julia Fox

I like this because it’s how girls at my college dress. I hate seeing stars my ages wear super grown up clothing. It’s nice to see someone dress her age.

  • Jessica O’Connell

Honey, you are WAY too pale to be wearing a black bra with that shitty white shirt. It just looks like you forgot to do laundry and didn’t have any others.

  • Imasewsure

OK I love those pants and the shoes… just hate the shirt

  • VeryClaire

The pants are cute, the t-shirt is more fitting as pajamas.

  • another_laura

Right on, T Lo – the shoes are the only thing that doesn’t look like my laundry basket on a bad day.

  • Trisha26

Good lord. No. Not even the shoes.

  • nannypoo

She forgot to change out of her black bra and she needs to be careful after she pees so she doesn’t get her shirt stuck in her zipper, and I hate those sunglasses.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

With a t-shirt that wasn’t for cleaning bathrooms, the rest of this might have worked….. And it probably cost like $90

  • Joyce VG

“Honestly, those pa…” nts make you look like you have a package.  Love the kicky Ronald McDonald shoes tho.

  • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

the shoes are fun, the glasses are fab. i dont even hate the pants. i have a problem with that shirt, which seems rather unstylish to me, and why is it tucked in like that?

  • Zippypie

Love the shoes.  The shirt is a rag and while I like the polka dots, those pants do not fit right.  Speaking of insane crotch, that girl looks liks she’s sprouted gonads.

But I do love the shoes!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I like the glasses and the pants…maybe not the entire outfit as a whole….

  • Kristin McNamara

Carrying a wallet not in a purse? That’s the kind of shit I’m almost too nervous to do just to pick up a pizza, when I’m only out of my car for 47 seconds. And I’m not even famous! Surprised she would walk around with it out so cavalierly…

  • Patricia Gillett

Wonder what the shoes she left at the bowling alley look like, because she clearly walked out with theirs!

  • alyce1213

I hate everything about the way she looks, especially the dark bra underneath the gross T-shirt.  She looks like a slob in pricey, too-big sunglasses.

    • Jennifer Coleman

Oh, but those are the pricey too-big sunglasses that were named after her!

      • alyce1213

Oh I know! And yet, they’re too big.

        • Jennifer Coleman

And undoubtedly pricey!! I didn’t like them the 1st time I saw them on her, but I guess she’s contracted to wear them once a day for 3 months or something. Gah.

  • http://twitter.com/rodabags THE Robai

Is that a hole in her shirt?

  • ccm800

Heres another one who benefits greatly from nepotism. Nothing but average about this kid.

  • guest2visits

She’s cute and so are her glasses; everything else is clown.

  • BrooklynBomber

See, she grabbed the prop phone but forgot the bag, so she had to go get one!

  • afabulous50

I don’t get why we’re judging when this is obviously not a public appearance.  Do you expect to be judged running to the grocery store??

  • judybrowni

I’m just so fucking thrilled that cat’s eye sunglasses are back in a big way.

Can’t wait for the knockoffs (when?  when? when?)

    • judybrowni

Cat’s eye suits me to no end, and I haven’t had those oversize lenses in purple since the ’70s.

But the Persol emma versions I’ve found online don’t seem the same as the pair Emma herself is wearing.

  • RzYoung

I don’t even look this shit when I’m in the house on my own.

  • clevRcat

How does such a slender gal find a pair of pants that give her such bad “polterwang”?

  • Cathy S

I think it’s kind of cute, except for the shirt tucked in at her button. What’s up with that?

  • oohsparkley!

The way the pattern lies on those pants bugs me. The dots create stripes that tilt down to the sides and really emphasize how unflattering those pants are. I think they’d be greatly improved if the dots were lined up perpendicular. The fit would still be bad, but I think they’d look better. Bad shirt.

  • http://www.facebook.com/sarchie14 Stephanie Archie

Hey TLo, can you tell us where I can buy those shoes?

I think she looks cute and age appropriate.
