Daniel Craig (x2)

Posted on October 29, 2012

Darlings, let’s all have a heaping helpful of Craig, since he’s been doing the Poledance of the Seven Veils right now for Skyfall.

Okay, Daniel. That suit is officially too small on you. We love a well-fitted suit and you are definitely the man to sport the more body-conscious cuts on trend at the moment, but this is just plain old TIGHT. You don’t look like you could lift your arms with your jacket buttoned. And what’s the point in wearing such a tightly fitted jacket and then having your pants hem puddle around your ankles like that?

This is a little better. At least the pant cut matches the jacket cut this time. But the jacket’s still too small, showing way too much shirt cuff.

He looks like a hunched-over caveman in all these pictures. ME WANT BETTER FIT SUIT! GRRR!

    • Also, are we not wearing belts anymore?

      • Frank Li

Belts are either for loose-waisted pants (in which case you shouldn’t be wearing them) or decoration only; and his case is neither.

        • Call me old-fashioned, but I think a suit without a belt looks untidy.

  • Vera L-

the cuffs are nearly as distracting as his ears. But those EYES! ~swoon~

  • bertkeeter

HATE that pinched shirt collar. Looks like it’s choking him. Agree on suits. Where are these high paid stylists we always hear about?

    • I always wonder why actors looks so much better styled in movies/shows than they do on the red carpet. It must help that they have someone to touch up their hair/make-up/clothes right before the camera’s start running, but still. I think the problem is that stylists have too little time to get their starlet properly dressed and on the carpet.

      • bertkeeter

A lot of stylist JUST DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

    • e jerry powell

Not a stylist so much as a good tailor.  When a stylist picks a dress for a woman, someone is (usually) there for a FITTING, even if it’s nothing but a few safety pins to take things in a bit.

      • bertkeeter

Is stylists responsibility to work with tailor, hair, makeup etc to make it ALL WORK!

        • e jerry powell

True enough, when I think more about it.  Perhaps stylists are just lazy.

          Thanks, Bert!

  • mamafitz

i really like the color combination in the first set.  yum.

    • fallen_ikon

Me too. The first suit is great for his coloring. It really draws attention to his eyes. Too bad about the fit.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Yeah, that first one is way too tight – looks silly.  The second looks good – but kinda boring.  Do you suppose he HAS to wear a suit because it’s Bond?

  • Janet B

Maybe the suits were all fitted while filming and after a month(s) off and he puts on a few pounds.

  • Kyle Crawford

Seems the Brits always show more cuff than us on this side of the Atlantic…

  • Contralto

he needs me to help him out of that suit.  It’s just way too tight.

    • Introspective

I see what you’re up to here. And I’m not mad at it 😉

If you need more help peeling him outta his skintight duds call me…

      • Contralto

        Oh, I couldn’t possibly impose….

  • Kate4queen

I can’t help it he just makes me want to whimper. I don’t care what he wears. 🙂

  • SapphoPoet

The suits are too small, but he’s rockin’ the pocket squares.

    • kimmeister

It appears to be the same one in both ensembles!

  • StellaZafella

I guess I agree about the suit fit – in a “hm, what?” sort of way.
Somebody mentioned a Steve McQueen vibe in a previous Daniel Craig posting and now I can’t unsee it regardless of what he’s wearing.

    • DeborahJozayt

I feel it’s the ruddiness of his face and the color of his eyes/hair. He’s almost got the same nose as McQueen, too.

  • I love how his arms never really sit at his sides…must be the LATS!

  • Pants_are_a_must

I’m wondering when’s the last time he ate carbs.

  • RedRaven617

Does this guy ever crack a smile?

    •  He looks better when he doesn’t. He, Javier Bardem & Judi Dench were on the Graham Norton show the other day and he managed a couple of chuckles and a smirk but the closer he gets to laughing the less comfortable he looked.

  • The tightness of the jacket is making the jacket sleeves ride up and show too much cuff. Which is a shame because I am sure when it is pulled down it looks fine. Too small – like you said – if it’s too small in one area it throws everything off.

  • decormaven

The overhead lighting in the first shot is not helping things. His neck looks jammed into the top of the jacket. I will give this man/his stylist props for wearing some beautiful suits on the RC. I’m dinging the stylist, though, for not getting these two looks properly fitted. This man deserves the best look- he works an ensemble like nobody’s business.

  • annrr

Strangely, the tight jackets make his head look bigger.

  • Judy_J

Get Mr. Bond to a Saville Row tailor, STAT!

  • Imasewsure

He’s settling my stomach at least after the effects of the horrible “Cammie incident” I just endured… boring – but thank you Daniel for your calming influence….

  • CurbGirl

His clothing is not what I notice first, or second either. Thanks for the post!

  • mmc2315

    Poledance…tee hee.

  • Qitkat

I recently finally saw Cowboys and Aliens [such a bizarre flik], and I have to say I really appreciated his grimy cowboy schtick look. It seems to suit his craggy face better.

These are beautiful suits. The jackets need to be fitted better. Perhaps as someone else said, a few extra pounds since fitting made the difference. I do love the curve of the collar around the tie knot and the sassy pocket square.

  • unbornfawn

Tailors? Are there no good tailors out there any more? Daniel, get your hands on one, NOW!

  • Am I the only one he does absolutely nothing for?

    • No. I am with you on that one. I’ll give it to him that he has some beautiful eyes, but the rest is just meh.

  • nannypoo

He looks like Howdy Doody in those tiny suits.

  • MilaXX

First suit is nice, but that jacket is at least 2 sizes too small. I could forgive the hemline if the jacket fit. Second suit is  better but still needs to be let out at least an inch.

  • Prolixity Julien

Showing too much shirt cuff, showing excellent amount of uber Steve McQueen coolness and sexaliciousness.

  • ri_dic

    Still don’t get it…

  • another_laura

    Spot on, TLo, spot on.

  • PrunellaV

It’s just so great to see a guy sharply dressed UP on a red carpet.

  • Mike Owens

You’re absolutely right. He shouldn’t be wearing the suit–or anything at all. It would be much, much better that way!

  • guest2visits

Yes, he could dispense with the first jacket altogether.  Why not make yourself comfortable DC…
Is there ever going to be the next installment for Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and is his charactor in it ?

  • formerlyAnon

What’s with the aging human head thrust – the “I didn’t catch that, what did you say?” we go through before the hearing aids?

But man, he does clean up good.

    • Ha! I thought the same thing, but then again, I think he always looks like someone is asking him a question.  I think it’s just his eyes.

  • jjfg

Well, he COULD just take those too tight suits off entirely…

  • Suit too tight?  Well then, we’ll just have to get you out of it, pronto!

  • alyce1213

Men with big muscles have to be very careful with suits.  It’s a challenge to get the right fit in a jacket and a nice drape to the pants so you don’t look like a overstuffed sausage, especially if you can’t afford to have garments custom-made or well-tailored.
    Oh wait . . .  he can.

  • ZnSD

He really just needs to take those silly suits off. And keep them off. Forever!

  • quiltrx

Definite issues with the fit….but all this grey with blue is REALLY setting off his eyes.  Someone knows what they’re doing with color, if not with fit.

  • nankipoo

The tiny jackets extend his arms and the tight trousers shorten his legs. He looks like an ape.

  • He looks like a wax doll of himself. Waxed doll Daniel.

  • aristida_girl

I love this man…I have been thinking lately about how men get sexier when they get older and women just get older, we can still be sexy, of course, but in general seasoning does not have the same effect on women as it does on men… I say this is unfair, but as I get older I begin to understand the lure of cosmetic surgery, etc. to help fight the signs of the times…
On this note I had lunch with one of my friends from high school and she had been using that clarisonic facial scrubber, and man, for a group of women in their late 30’s she looked like she was still in her 20’s, and I swear she looked younger now that she did before, so ladies, that was good enough for me, I plan to invest soon….
anyone else have something that they love? Please share 🙂
