    • Sobaika

Aww, Brooke. Your stylist is playing a joke on you. So is your hair stylist.

      • kmk05

        …so is the dress designer!

Brooke? About your hair? It looks like you just got the curlers out and sprayed it solid. Lose the overly matchy clutch, too.

      • Anathema_Device

It looks like such a rush job, I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a curler or two still stuck in there!

        • Nelliebelle1197

          JOAN!

      Oh, dear.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1396777506 Christin Pardy-Nosenchuk

dafuq?  looks like an enlarged barbie dress.  shame.

    • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Somehow in my head Brooke is still that fresh-faced teenager.  On the other hand, it’s nice to see what looks like natural aging in Hollywood.  On the other other hand, I don’t think her hair is doing her any favors and the dress works better on a young flatter-chested person like the model. It’s got an ingenue-ish vibe.

      • CozyCat

She still has a pretty good figure.  Unfortunately, this dress does nothing for it.  Plus, I think she would look better in dark colors or jewel tones–imagine a simple long dark red on her–even the bad hair style would look better.

        • 3boysful

There does not appear to be any way at all to hide some support for the girls, therefore; they look low, making her expanse of chest look large.  Hair is atrocious.

      • Alisa Rivera

I saw her in person at the Geffen Playhouse in LA and she looks fantastic in person. Really beautiful, great figure, no nasty plastic surgery or botox. I’m seriously shocked by what she looks like here.

    • http://twitter.com/DarthJaeda Jaeda Laurez

“If you don’t have anything nice to say, compliment the color of the dress.”

That combo of periwinkle and yellow is really pretty.

      • MoHub

I wouldn’t call that periwinkle; to my eye (and monitor) it’s more of an ice blue. I think of periwinkle as richer and with more purple in the blue per the Crayola crayon.

        • thepoptart

Interesting. On my monitor, it definitely IS the color of the Crayola crayon.

          • MoHub

At any rate, it’s not her color, whatever one calls it.

          • siriuslover

yeah, the dress is periwinkle on my monitor as well. But I can see how different monitors would affect the shading.

      • Little_Olive

I wanted to think that, I really did. But I just found it a complicated way to look like you’re wearing a something from a doll’s alternative dresses (as in. not the one the doll is wearing in the box).

      • mightbewrong

I don’t know, somehow it still reminds me of eggs.

    • MoHub

Didn’t even have to scroll down to see the fug in this.

    • Lilithcat

Oh, honey, no.  I don’t think there’s a woman in the world on whom that color would look good.  And that weirdness at the bustline is doing you no favors at all.

      • MoHub

I think the color would play on a deep mahogany-colored African or African-American woman. Someone like Laura Bennett’s season 3 PR model. And the cropped hair would also look fab with that dress.

    • http://twitter.com/jeremiahcapz Jeremiah Capacillo

      NO. NO. NO.

    • kschwarting

I like those colors, but man that bodice is wonky.  Perhaps this dress is not meant to be worn by a woman who has anything going on in the chest department.

    • sdgreengirl

Maybe it’s time to change the eyebrows?  She never seems that fashionable.

      • Sobaika

Strong eyebrows are back in! (And should never leave imho.)

        • sdgreengirl

I love strong eyebrows!  I have them and so does my daughter.  But maybe they aren’t working for her anymore.  Doesn’t he right eyebrow look a little wonky, especially compared to the left one (or do I have that backwords)?

          • Sobaika

There’s definitely something weird happening in the last image, but I think it’s her facial expression. She looks fine in the first picture.

At any rate, her eyebrows are not the first thing I would change about this look. They’re not even the fifth thing.

      • alyce1213

I don’t think she ever will, and don’t really think she should — it’s her trademark.
It’s everything else she needs to change: clothing, hair, makeup, stylist.

      • roadtrip1000

I agree. As one gets older one’s eyes appear smaller. Maybe it’s time for her to soften up the eyebrows so they don’t overwhelm her eyes.

    • nc17

wow. The dress looks so cute on the model, but on her it looks odd and cheap… Her makeup looks terrible. Brooke usually looks good.

      • kimmeister

It helps that the sheer cape-thing is laying flat on the model, and hers is looking a bit poofy.

    • fireontiger

Did she escape from a mental institution?

    • alyce1213

Oh Brooke, Brooke, Brooke.  I could tell by the thumbnail this was going to be atrocious.
It’s hard to believe this was designed and produced by a professional.
      The hair and makeup . . . I can’t.

Brooke is one of the most beautiful women in the world, a genetic lottery champ, and how she makes herself look awful so frequently astounds me.

    • Kim Elmore

WHAT ARE Y’ALL TALKING ABOUT? Jesus wept, what happened to her face?? That is not natural aging!

    • Tracy_Flick

      GASP.

    • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

Oh, no, no, no. That hair. Oh no.

    • Sunshine16

Crazy mother of the bride look is horrifying.  Laughing imagining the groom taking one look & running out of the church!

    • Teri Brinson

      Hell to the no!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Linda-Harris/1358701372 Linda Harris

      she looks like shit

    • pippitypup

      That’s a man, baby!

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

She does look like she’s in drag, doesn’t she?

        • Hetha Innis

          Very much so!

    • Tatiana Luján

Love the dress, HATE the hair.

    • Annabelle Archer

Oh my. This is bad.  And more than a little sad.  That hair is criminal.  That dress is disastrous.  While I am thrilled that botox has not claimed yet another forehead victim, something about this whole thing is a a big tall witch’s hat away from being truly frightening.

Tracy_Flick (commented below) most accurately; GASP.  GASP, indeed!

    • http://profiles.google.com/marteani Barbara Guttman

Oh god…  This is a Halloween costume, right?  It’s like Maggie White decided to follow her daughter to the prom in the 70s and her hair is just trying to FLEE THE SCENE BEFORE SHIT GOES DOWN.

    • Fordzo

Did she ride over on her motorcycle without a helmet?

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

And then fall of it and roll face first over a cliff?

    • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks she looks like an escapee from the local asylum. This is head-to-toe fug.

    • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

      UHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    • sashaychante

That is one UGLY dress.  It looks like a doll’s dress…like Velvet or Chrissy (dated myself there).

    • MilaXX

Dear lord I hope her hair/face looked better in person. Cause that’s some scary crazy face going on. Also I wish she had carried a different bag. That yellow bag is too matchy-matchy and looks cheap. (I know it ain’t) Dress is nice everything else needs work.

    • Susan Crawford

Not your dress, Brooke. Pretty color, but wa-a-ay too much stuff going on. Those sausage-roll curls are not helping, either. Please: call Tom and Lorenzo and get zhuzhed by the real pros, darling! They’re busy as hell, but something tells me they would take your call.

By the way, LOVED your appearance on “The Middle” as the Heck family’s trashy neighbor! Hilarious!

    • Jessi03

Oh, Ms. Brooke.  No, sweetie.  No.  That looks like an overpriced Halloween costume on you.

    • folu0330

it”s very “Beauty and the Beast” if the took away the cap like thing, and hired a hair stylist with good sense, this would actually be really pretty

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Julie-Chase/731391326 Julie Chase

      Cracked out.

    • Snailstsichr

OMG. I thought it was an old picture of Eunice Kennedy Shriver in the thumbnail.

    • TheDivineMissAnn

Her strong features served her well in her youth, but as she ages it is not quite as attractive.  Maybe it’s the lighting or the color of the dress – or both – but she looks……rough.

And her hair looks like she didn’t have time to brush it out after she took out the curlers.

Too bad, she really is a striking woman.

      • Anathema_Device

She needs to soften the impact of her brows. I am 48 with strong, dark brows and plucking them just a tad thinner and giving them a tiny bit of shape really helped soften my looks.

Plus, her makeup is awful and aging here.

        • TheDivineMissAnn

Spot on!  The make-up IS awful here, and this is from someone who has never worn makeup (ok,ok, I put on on some lipstick when I got married).  Nor have I ever plucked my eyebrows (and they are full – blonde, but full) but I can see where softening them would make a hella difference.

        • oohsparkley!

I agree. They worked when she was younger but now they are a touch too strong, too man-ish.

    • In_Stitches

It’s like a sad, budget version of Cate Blanchett at the 2011 Oscars in Givenchy.

    • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

She looks scary. Please, someone take her to a stylist before I have nightmares.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VZLU6YVO4BRTELTTH3GRAAMWZQ Dot

I don’t hate the dress, but what the hell is going on with the hair?

      • MilaXX

yeah I don’t mind the dress but like you said, that hair/makeup is really bad.

    • BeeBeauNYC

Girl, that’s not your hair, makeup or dress. P.S. Bras are your friend.

    • Judy_J

She’s not aging well, is she?

      • MoHub

Please don’t say that. We don’t need another woman running to the plastic surgeon. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with her face that the right makeup and hairstyle wouldn’t fix.

    • guest2visits

None of these is working in her favor; dress, hair, clutch and earrings, nail color.. probably not even the shoes if we could see them.
The dress is not that attractive to begin with – the harsh yellow and periwinkle are particularly aging in combination with the gauzy
shoulder covering; it looks like a shawl.  The matchy earrings and clutch are also dated. The hair is just crazy. Nails look harsh, too.
Brooke is attractive and statuesque but this dress doesn’t flatter her figure or good looks.

    • Daniel Morris

      giiiiiirrrlll no

    • Kristina Toma

She’s channeling Tammie Brown with that hair and make up…

    • amf0001

      oh honey, no…
that’s way too young a dress for you.  Something for that crop of girls whose names I don’t know,  with long princessy hair.  It makes you look much older than you are. And that posing over your shoulder look?  Please don’t do that anymore.
Sigh.  She’s my age,  I go to parties,  and my friends… they look better than that (not me,  I’m twice her weight,  but even me, my hair looks better than that)   Go find the people who dressed you for your last show (3 women in the city,  forgot it’s name) you looked great there!

    • kittenwithaquip

I had to stop scrolling. The hair already had me curled in fetal position, crying. I pulled myself together, scrolled down and got to the sheer bits crusted with yellow. Oh Brooke, you were one of the holdouts– I thought you were growing older gracefully. That doesn’t mean you have to start raiding Dame Edna’s closet. Perhaps Julianne Moore is fucking with you; she wanted another woman in her 40s to make her hair and clothing choices look hip. Well done, JM. Well done.

    • Anathema_Device

No to all of it. That’s a bad dress coupled with bad styling. Sorry, Brooke.

    • KuriousKat

The make up is very poorly done which detracts from an otherwise attractive woman (see other recent photos – the make-up here is horrible). The dress and purse could be striking, but the dress is ill-fitting so not as striking as it could be. I like the color scheme.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_LCM5POTSHO74MUOQO6IAV4YUBE Jessica

It looks like a badly-made princess costume.
      No.

    • onefifteen

Hair is hiddy. Don’t mind the dress. What’s with the wonky faces she’s giving?

    • http://twitter.com/Mylynka Mylynka

I actually said “OH NOOO!” out loud.

    • frannyprof

No. She is such a beautiful woman and gets it wrong so often.

    • S_Swift

It looks like an off-brand Disney princess gown someone’s mom sewed in their poorly lit basement.

    • AnnPopovic

How do you assure nobody notices your dress doesn’t fit? Stick your head under one of those public bathroom hand dryers and call that ‘doing your hair’.
I’m … perplexed. What WAS the hair supposed to look like, before the tornado hit?

    • decormaven

Whoever was the hair/MUA for this should be fired on the spot. Look at the ads Brooke has done lately for Laz-Y-Boy. Her look is 1,000 times more flattering than this. And the shade of that dress- the horror. Looks like the color of submerged skin after a corpse has been dredged from the lake. And the stylist who thought that that pop of yellow of a clutch was a good idea? You thought wrong, oh so wrong.

    • jjfg

What. The. Fuck.  The dress is bad enough; whoever did her hair and make-up should be shot.

    • MissFern

      aw-ful

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000905542323 Rhonda Shore

      Hideous.

    • fringebenefit

Looks like she whipped that up in home-economics class. First sewing project. Grade: D
That said, I saw her NYC house in a shelter magazine and it was exquisite. She definitely has a sense of style–just not on display here, that’s for sure.

    • MoHub

No problem. I’m just tired of older women with faces that don’t move and think how much nicer it would be if they were willing to wear their years with pride.

    • notanotherusernameforchrissake

what is that on her head?  all that wavy stuff totally clashes with the flow of the dress.  feh.

    • Imasewsure

Yes to Brooke for owning her age but not for “owning” this god-awful dress. She looks great underneath it all I’m sure but this is atrocious

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

It’s as if she is channeling an Easter Peep.

    • jmorino08

What in the name of the Easter Bunny is that nonsense? It doesn’t fit. The colors are all wrong for her. Her hair looks like a rat’s nest. And her her face! Is it makeup doing that or really bad plastic surgery?

    • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

      Eeeeewww.  From head to foot!

    • wisenhar

Clearly the picture has been mislabeled.  This has to be a costume party where Brooke is attending as the step-mother from Cinderella.  Only that would explain the Disney color scheme and the bat-crazy hair.

    • http://TheDoseofReality.com/ The Dose of Reality

Oh, wow. That’s just…unfortunate. Even on the model that dress looks terrible.

    • kolokOlchik

oh wow, what a mess!  The poor fit on the dress, the crazy lady hair…

    • Beardslee

I am just so pleased that she is actually allowing herself to age normally, despite all the pressure that must be directed her way to do no such thing, that I will give her a pass on this Easter egg dress.  And I like the sleeve detail.

      • margaret meyers

I was just thinking to myself that plastic surgery, dermabrasion, botox and dental veneers are ruining our concept of attractive aging.  The real problem here is the ugly dress and the terrible hair.

    • AlexisPayne

Bad, so many layers of bad.

    • deathandthestrawberry

Not loving the dress, but that hairdo is a travesty. Also her makeup looks waxy. The skin tone of her arms and neck are darker than her face. Actually, the more I look at the photo the more I like the dress. Maybe Brooke should send it to Nicole Kidman. She’s delicate enough-looking to pull it off.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_YAMNQMUGFM4NNSPAQLZRODSD5I Angela

Oh my god, yes! She looks like a mortician made her up! You can easily see her face color stops at the neck, and in no way does it even begin to match the rest of her. And it’s fine to have strong brows, IF you bother to groom them before you go out…she’s got one up and one down! Also, you should not try to comb your hair with an eggbeater…
        As for the dress…feh.

    • PastryGoddess

the hair is wackadoo, the color is horrific and it looks like it belongs to a disney princess

    • poggi

This the opposite of Solange who had a nice dress but looked miserable.  Brooke has an awful dress but looks happy and bubbly.  While Brooke’s exuberance  can’t really save this ensemble, it did at least make me pause for a second.

      • Lilak

A mother’s pride?  The ensemble and the hairdo look like they could have been designed, maybe even assembled, by (her?) little girls.
Seriously though, Brooke always comports herself like a grownup, bless her. I’ve never seen her fling attitude or wear her mood on her sleeve at an event.  So I agree, poggi, points for that.

    • kaycem

      dear. god.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1589131702 Jenna Gordon

      what in the hell happened?

    • NCDFan

      She really needs softer hair.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mary-Stone/100001328135240 Mary Stone

That hair is nothing short of tragic.  And the lighting is doing odd things to her face. She’s  gorgeous, but poorly lit here.  The dress does nothing for me.

    • Ellen Calarese

I think she looks stunning here. The hair is a bit frankenbridesmaid but the dress is lovely.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Louise-Bryan/1177213326 Louise Bryan

Lordy, she looks older than me, and she’s younger than I am.  How’d that happen?

      • Sara__B

Her birth year is 1965. She’s not even 50 yet. Whatever she’s having done to her face is making her look older, not younger. (She looks about the age of my big sisters, who are both pushing 70!)

    • oohsparkley!

Whoa! Start over. That hair is ridiculous and the dress is ugly.

    • l_c_ann

It’s interesting that the zipper is along one of the back seams.  That’s all I’ve got positive.

    • JulieTy

      Oy.

    • nannypoo

She looks at least 20 years older than she is. I hate the dress and her makeup is awful. But the hair … what is it? Was there a storm? Did she oversleep? I would never have imagined that she could look this bad.

    • melanie0866

WHO DID HER HAIR AND MAKEUP?  Because that person managed to make a beautiful woman look awful.

    • XPT

      WTF hair and makeup?!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_L6FKGKUXWF6QSWWYAHJZYKKI3E Adrian

Oh, honey :-( This is so tragic. I love her, but I can’t even.

    • littlemac8

Truly unfortunate!  I might like her earrings – that’s it!

You know you are a TLo fan when you see a picture like this and think, “oh, honey, NO. Take that dress off and give it to Cate Blanchette…”

    • joancarol

That is the ugliest dress I’ve ever seen. Is that bubble wrap in the center?

    • ThaliaMenninger

She looks like 50 miles of bad road.

What’s up with that hair?  She looks like she just got out of bed.

    • LesYeuxHiboux

Early Halloween costume? Medusa? She looks downright frightening. That hair with that Bride-of-Frankenstein dress. Did she let one of her kids do it?

    • quiltrx

Honey, no.  You usually look so gorgeous!  Both the “Oscar Winners Who Are Still Alive” super-matronly dress and the “I took out my curlers and forgot to brush it out” hair make me very, very sad.

    • http://twitter.com/aidanboleyn Aidan B

Oh my god, that is crazy old lady hair. And the dress is in a color scheme that is completely wrong for her.

    • dougldallas

Why is Brooke Shields grandmother on a red carpet?

    • siriuslover

I like the dress (I think), but I can’t get over how old she looks here. And that hair, sheesh.

    • http://theondioline.wordpress.com/ Ondioline

Appropriate for the event, she forgot to wear makeup or get her hair done.

    • http://twitter.com/Alloyjane Alloy Jane

Crazy cat lady hair, drag queen make-up applied by the legally blind, and a… I don’t know what that dress is but it says something that even the model looks silly in it.

    • Lily-Rygh

She looks like a very bad wax statue replica of herself.  Good lord.

Awful hair. I actually kind of like the dress, but the bad fit ruins it.

      No.

Unless you’re playing Fairy Godmother, with glass slippers hiding in that clutch that you’re going to bestow upon some deserving kitchen maid.

    • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

Not her best dress….her hair and makeup is the biggest problem w this look!

    • librarygrrl64

The dress shows a certain Carole Lombard promise, but it doesn’t fit her all that well, and that hair is INSANE.

    • Trisha26

Dear lord what happened to her? It’s like Brooke is playing dress-up as her crazy maiden aunt in the cotillion gown she found locked away in an attic.

    • altermyego

I’m afraid to ask what the shoes must look like!

    • Susan Collier

      What happened here?

    • PeaceBang

      Something inside me just died.

    • B_C_J

The top part (shoulder fabric)  of this dress is a bit matronly and mother-of-the-bride. The color is beautiful. What makes it objectionable is the backdrop color. The pleating on the bust is very becoming as is the way the bust line meets the rest of the dress. I do not care for the yellow accents.

    • Carlodog

None of this is good.  Fugly dress, hair, matchy accessories.  Do over!

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

This is awful. It’s like a bad “goddess” Halloween costume. And she looks like she’s not convinced, either.

    • Emily Roach

      Here go hell come.

    • PhillipWilde

      Does she own a mirror?

    • butter nut

it’s nice to see they’ve wheeled old lady dame brooke out for her lifetime achievement award.

    • Candigirl1968

This is a Cate Blanchett dress.  It does Brooke no favors at all.  And I won’t even get started with the awful hair and makeup.

She looks like a cast off from RuPaul’s Drag Race…

MAN  i love it – good for  you   Brookipoo – especially considering how your looks are your career -  but it is somewhat jarring (and commendable and i wish more would) to see a lady who lets herself age like she does. Having said that that dress looks 100 percet awful on her and likely anyone else.
