American Horror Story Premiere Red Carpet

Posted on October 15, 2012

We don’t know how we’re going to fit it into our already heavy TV-viewing schedule, but we are SO PUMPED for the premiere of American Horror Story this week.

Hit it, bitches!

Andrew Rannells

Kudos to him for putting in the effort, but we’re thinking this is not the best cut of suit for him.

Chord Overstreet

 Go home, you lazy thing.

Chris Colfer

Chris, you’re giving stylish gay men a bad name here. We are disappointed.

Dean Geyer

Cute, if basic. Pull that collar up.

Evan Peters

Way too much blue going on in one outfit, although we do love those shoes. Also, even the thinnest guy is going to look like he has a paunch if he leaves his jacket unbuttoned while wearing a vest.

Fiona Gubelmann

 Basic, but no real complaints.

Georgia King in Jay Godfrey

That’s a killer dress and it looks great on her, but her hair and makeup probably could have been a bit more dramatic.

Jane Lynch

We like that she’s wearing a print blouse instead of the satin-y solid-color ones she used to sport all the time. The only regret we have about cutting Glee out of our lives is that we don’t get a dose of her at least a couple times a month. She’s the only thing about that show we miss.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum in Reem Acra

 Fabulous.

Jessica Lange in MaxMara

Also fabulous – although a metallic shoe and possibly some hosiery would have been much better.

Kevin McHale

Love the jacket, although it looks a bit casual for the red carpet. Then again, compared to his two co-stars up there, he’s downright formal. Love the boots.

Lea Michele in Giorgio Armani

 Of course.

Lily Rabe

Not loving the neckline with the long sleeves. She looks pretty good, though.

Naya Rivera

We love the sexy secretary look on her; she can work the shit out of it. Hate the conjunctivitis eye makeup.

Sarah Paulson in Reem Acra

Pretty. Take an inch off the hem and it would be perfect.

Zachary Quinto

Another one who puts the lie to the myth that gay men are all innately fashionable. Not that this is a bad look at all. In fact, it’s pretty great. But the fit on that jacket is tragic.

Anyone know where I can get Evan Peter’s shoes!?

      • Susan Crawford

If you find out where to get them, let me know! I would rock a pair myself for some autumnal chic! Super-cool.

And Jessica Lange in MaxMara? Uber-cool. A great match.

    • StellaZafella

      Lynch and Lange, YAY!

Does Lea Michelle have that dress on backwards?

      Zachary Quinto teaches math.

      • teensmom99

This is an insult to my daughter’s old math teacher who had the nerd chic thing down.  And Lange shows ‘em how it’s done.

        • FloridaLlamaLover

My old math teacher was nerd before nerd WAS nerd.  Picture if you will…1978…crimson and tan plaid pantsuit…cat eye glasses…bobbed hair…thick glasses in those gigantically oversized frames that we all had (don’t lie, you know you did too, if you had glasses in the 70′s!)…clunky heeled shoes…but my math teacher was a gawky woman.  Who taught my sister 11 years earlier.  And still couldn’t explain math to those of us who just didn’t “get” how algebra works…CURSE YOU, ALGEBRA!!!!

          • Melvis Velour

I tell you, with Math teachers, you either had an absolute gem who could make a rock figure out fractions or some totally ineffective boob who could make 2 + 2 = 22.  There is NO middle ground…

      • littlemissstrange

Mmhmm. Where you from? Cause obviously I need to go there if this is what your math teachers look like.

Love my sexy nerd boy <3<3<3

        • StellaZafella

           No offense intended…
ZQ could teach me ANYTHING! (And my math teachers were all in San Francisco Unified Public Schools soooo yeah, come get you some anytime ;)  )

and seriously, it really does look like Lea Michele’s dress is back to front.

        • DTLAFamilies

A friend of mine got to sit next to Quinto during sexual harassment training at NBC if you can believe it. Was I jealous? Yes. Yes, I was.

    • Janet B

Zachary should’ve taken off the jacket, it’s horrible.

    • http://twitter.com/FuLinlin FuLinlin

No Jonathan Groff? If there’s any red carpet he and Quinto should do together, it would be this one, wouldn’t it? I have had such a crush on Groff ever sine “Taking woodstock”.

      • FashionShowAtLunch

Me too!  I had no idea who he was, but it was immediately clear how magnetic he is. Just so sexy.  Also that was an entirely underrated movie.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

        Totally agree! Where is Jonathan?

    • MilaXX

I find it hysterical that the RC for the AHS premiere was packed with Ryan Murphy employees. It’s like attendance was mandatory or something. For my money despite the eye makeup Naya Rivera  takes the win, with Jessica Lange a close second. However Sarah Paulson seems to frump up everything she wears.

      • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Is that why all the Glee cast was there?  I was scratching my head over that.

      • pattyw

Thank you! I was struggling to make the connection between the two shows.

    • Roosevelt 85

You guys should really give Glee another shot. The Rachel/Kurt NYC is the only thing keeping that show interesting. The “Break Up” episode had me in tears. Please watch it again!

      • VioletFem

I was surprised at how good that episode was! I was on the verge of tears by the end of that episode.

      • http://twitter.com/ZumaZoum Eric

Can pretty safely just watch only the New York stuff, and it’s a good half hour show.  The Lima stuff is completely unnecessary.

      • KateWo

I am liking it too…some stuff makes no sense ( like how a student and a unpaid intern are living in NYC) but whatever. Love SJP and Kurt together. I want a Kurt spin off in NYC.

      • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

        Not a chance in hell.

      • Sobaika

Ooo, we had two very different reactions to this season. I am so over Ryan Murphy writing for Lea Michele and Chris Colfer and awkwardly shoehorning in the rest of the graduates. I’d enjoy it a lot more if they’d just focus on the new kids or Tina, Blaine, etc.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

Remind me why they didn’t do a spinoff instead of doubling the cast and storylines?

    • pop_top

I love that “Of course” was all that needed to be said for Lea.

      • MoHub

It’s all that ever needs to be said about her, and even typing that is more effort than it’s worth.

    • filmcricket

Mrs. Channing Tatum’s dress looks fine from this angle, but is actually completely sheer down both sides, hence the awful illusion netting holding up the bodice. It’s horrendous.

Also, in my head, Chris Colfer went up to The Sev at this party and offered to be one of her minions. His cherubic face would be the perfect cover.

      • kimmeister

Whoa, hadn’t even noticed the illusion netting before you pointed it out.

      • kschwarting

And her hair is absolutely tragic.

    • RocknRollmom

Jessica and Max Mara!!!  My favorites.  And I agree re shoes and hose, but at least her legs aren’t eggshell white like mine so I will give her a pass.  Naya Rivera is stunning.  I want that outfit! Six inches off Paulson’s Reem Acra–lovely girl, awful clothes.

    • altalinda

So, faced with falling ratings, the folks at Glee decided to merge that show with American Horror Story?  Now that would be fun to watch.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_357TFVPV6EBXLSKZ3HHJMCLYZU Victoria

Yeah, I was wondering why there are so many Glee people there…

        • glennethph

Ryan Murphy probably mandated and forced the Glee and New Normal cast to show up.

      • glennethph

Oh goody, Jessica Lange offing the Glee kids one by one while ZQ and Chris Colfer duel to the death in fabulous outfits.

        • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Now that would be a show worth watching!  Also a Lange v. Lynch deathmatch.  :)

    • snarkykitten

at least Lea is only showing off some of the good china

      • understateddiva

I know, I was thinking that this is a step in the right direction!

        • kschwarting

Absolutely!  I don’t hate the dress at all, although I’d like to see her try something not slinky.

      • lonepear

Indeed. She looks pretty good here, actually; if only I hadn’t seen her chest about a million times before, the dress might have the desired effect.

    • mayavaly

Love Evan Peters’ look. I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a bloke’s outfit before, but he looks brilliant. I even quite like the fact that the suit is a bit wrinkly because it looks as if he’s actually wearing it rather than the other way around. On a side note, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, despite the fact that I have no idea who she is, is also killing it here.

    • julesj

Jessica Lane needs to wear Lily Rabe’s sleeves.

    • http://twitter.com/annaria Ria V

Sorry but Naya Rivera looks like a True Blood reject.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

With the exception of Chord Overstreet and Chris Colfer, everyone looks like they made an effort, and it paid off (to varying degrees of success). Most of these carpet-walkers could use a tweak here and there, but no one crashed and burned.

    • berkeleygirl

Lea Michele is officially a parody of herself.

    • l_c_ann

Are you sure that that’s Jessica Lang and not the similar lady, Kim,  from Sex and the City?

    • https://twitter.com/LisaF1163 Lisa

      Yaaay!  An “Of course” post!

      • Jean Marie Downing

Hee.  The fug girls covered the same red carpet and when I saw lea I rushed over here simply to see the “of course” post

    • PeaceBang

Wait, so all the “Glee” people are on “American Horror Story” now? Actually, that would be a great mash-up. They could kill off Rachel Berry on the first episode.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100001491006224 Brandon Yee

I look at Lea Michelle and think “of course” then i scroll down to the caption, and it says “of course” i laughed myself.

    • afabulous50

You know, looking at this line-up made me feel pretty good about myself.  They get paid a LOT of money to look good, and designers throw clothes at them – but they don’t look that much better than the rest of us.

    • nannypoo

Lea Michelle is trying out a new face here. She reminds me of the Andersen Cooper Ridiculist featuring Courtney Stodden and her pervy husband on the sofa. Naya Rivera’s hair is awful. Sarah Paulson’s dress is too fluffy. Jessica Lange looks great and I love how she’s posing. She looks comfortable with herself. I don’t know who Fiona Gubelmann is, but that is a fabulously unforgettable name.

I cannot wait for this show. I loved last season so much.

    • FashionShowAtLunch

Yet another red carpet where everyone looks like they’re attending a completely different event. How are they announcing the dress codes for these things? Do they announce dress codes at all, or do attendees just have to guess?

    • VeryClaire

Is Kevin McHale parking cars out front?

    • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Oh, it’s going to be a bad day — it took me until halfway down the page before I figured out why there were so many Glee people there along with half the cast of the New Normal.  Any time I start my morning that dopey, it’s only going to get worst.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1069083922 Brady Galan

Why does “of course” never cease to crack me up!

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

Sarah Paulson looks like she got attacked by an evil muppet.

    • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

colfer and overstreet may be a little too casual, but i also think they look pretty put together.

dewan-tatum: not seeing the fabulous here. looks like a bath towl to me.

michele & quinto look pretty sharp!

    • http://profiles.google.com/dwight.lake Dwight Lake

If I had to dress as Kurt Hummel for a living I’d probably dress down as much as possible off the set too.

    • Trisha26

Totally agree with your assessments, TLo – except Jenna’s dress (and all others like it) look like bathwraps/towels – do designers have an aversion to straps?, and Kevin McHale looks like he’s going to coach a football game in that jacket.

    • sweetlilvoice

Why is the entire cast of Glee there? Do they get killed in the show? If so, I’ll start watching again. Ms Lange is lovely as always…would love a throw down between her and Jane Lynch.

    • HK4Seven

Every time I see Lea Michele now I think to myself “Of Course.” and then I scroll down and you’ve written that and I giggle.  Poor little thing!

    • http://twitter.com/Kikishua CMS

I can’t work out if Sarah Paulson is carrying a huge weirdly shaped bag made from the base material for the dress, or the flower pattern leans left.
