Amanda Seyfried in NY

Posted on October 18, 2012

We almost never believe that a star walking down the street is trying to avoid getting their picture taken, because most of them are TERRIBLE at doing the incognito thing. And even though we think she looks completely, ridiculously adorable in a sort of real-world (albeit size 0) kind of way, we can actually believe she didn’t get dressed to impress a bunch of paparazzi here.

Amanda Seyfried out and about in New York City.

She just looks like such a cute little elf, doesn’t she?

And hey, sorry to bother you while you’re walking down the street, girl, but we’ll take this moment to remind everyone that “Les Miserables” opens in December and we can’t wait to see your turn as Cosette. Happy now?

  • Love the boots with the cranberry laces.  Nice touch Amanda.

  • It has been pushed back to opening on Christmas day, actually.

  • I love watching her on screen – glad you boys are as excited as I am about the movie.

  • MilaXX

    Very normal looking outfit.

  • What’s with the waterbottle under the arm? Why do they all do that?

    • Sara LaBatt

Right?  Does it not fit in her giant bag?  Weird.

      • Having had a water bottle open up in a bag on me on more than one occasion, I can see why she doesn’t – especially considering she’s likely paid 20 times more than I do for mine.

        •  exactly! especially if you have tech inside, the last time that happened I had my iphone in there and was so worried.

  • call_me_schmeg

considering this is how i look 99% of saturdays, then i must say i love this look. i’ll bet her bag costs about a grand more than mine, but whatevs. way to work that real-world errands look, miz seyfried!

    •  Me too. Makes me feel not quite so disconnected from the fashionista stars out there.

  • I am SO EXCITED for the Les Mis movie! Hugh Jackman!

    • Sobaika

ME TOO. Christmas needs to hurry up.

    • l_c_ann

Y’all do know you can order the soundtrack to Les Miz in French?  Really neat to learn the French words to our favourite songs, as well as the English.

    • pop_top

I’m excited too! I’m planning on seeing the musical also when it heads to my area during the tour!

      • Me too! In Chicago! I’ve never seen it before, I just have the soundtrack memorized.

  • Clueless_Jock

Cute. Could use some bling though…

  • does anyone know the brand of the bag?  I like it.

  • Sarah Thomas

The fact that the label on her handbag isn’t swinging toward a papparazzo just so helps the idea that maybe she’s actually running an errand here.

  • cjarellano

It was right around this time where I was like, “Oh my God. They’re not even doing the -ology posts this season.”

  • Definitely a cute, normal, “real person” look. I hate the boots, but otherwise I wear some variation of the same thing on an almost daily basis.

  • BrooklynBomber

    Phone – check
    Oversized bag – check

  • Well for one thing she’s not doing the “I’m walking casually down the street while prominently displaying my ridiculously expensive handbag that I’ve been given for free” pose

    • l_c_ann

I’d guess the handbag is a loaner.  Why else (other than stupidity) would she have a bottle of water stuck under her left armpit, with all that space in her huge bag going to waste?

  • joything

Yeah, she looks like teh reals.  And I am stoked about Les Miz on film.

  • EditKitten

Totally normal New York outfit. Love it. Want it.

  • want her shoeeess, omg.

  • Sunshine16

Boys, can you help us with the brand of those fab boots?

  • :)

I saw Amanda walking around NYC recently and she tries really hard to blend in with the crowd — and succeeds.  I only gave her a second look because of her cute dog.

  • mmc2315

The laces on those boots!  Wonderful!

  • MarissaLG

Cute! I’m really digging the red laces.

  • Violina23

Cute, I love that shade of blue.

I’m surprised how much I’m looking forward to this movie. The first trailer had me a bit nervous because I thought Anne Hathaway was a bit too melodramatic singing “I dreamed a dream” with hysterical-crying-face the whole time, but the more I’ve been seeing/hearing, the more excited I get. I love that they are doing live-singing on set.  Dare I say I’m, cautiously optimistic that this will actually be good?

  • Cathy S

I love those boots. Very cool.

  • Judy_S

You mean she’s using a purse to carry stuff, like mere mortal women? Is that allowed?

  • nannypoo

The bag looks interesting. Anyone know what it is?

  • B_C_J

I am a man and I want to wear those boots!!!!  LOL  They are terrific.  Anyone know who makes them?

  • Anathema_Device

Love those boots with skinny jeans.

  • AtticWife

    Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee LES MIS.

  • I am so out of it. She is going to be Cosette? Perfect! She does look like a cute young girl. The boots actually look like they’ve been worn more than once.

  • My family is skipping A Christmas Carol (the play) this year & is going en masse to see Les Mis instead.  Cannot WAIT!!!

(Almost forgot the whole style thing; she looks adorable.)

  • guest2visits

I don’t think the black over black thing looks as nice as so many celebs seem to think it does.
I know she’s pretty; but this is very dreary-saggy to me.

  • Hai Yen Nguyen

I love her casual looks. She never looks like she’s trying.
