Adam Levine, Leaving “The Late Show”

Posted on October 26, 2012

We know it’s popular to call him a douchebag as soon as you set eyes on him, but we’re just the kind of radical free thinkers to ignore such things. Besides, we barely pay him any attention at all, so his purported douchiness has remained free from our thoughts.

Anyway, this is our way of saying we don’t care how douchey he is; we just appreciate that he puts the effort in on looking good for the public.

Adam Levine makes his way out of the ‘Late Show With David Letterman’ in New York City.

It’s all way too grey and business-like; and the pants need to be yanked up, but we’ve gotta give him props for turning it out. It’s a nice-looking suit.

But Adam, dude, take your TV makeup off before you head outside. Your moon face is scary.

    He’s a doll….n has amazing talent!

    • mjude

i think he is a doll too a real sweetheart actually.

wait. Are all good looking “hypster” guys being labelled “douche” now???
    (nice bulge, by the way)

    • alyce1213

Just the ones who are way too full of themselves.

    • Mary229

I don’t think it’s a douche because he’s a hypster.  I think he’s a douche because he has engaged in misogynist behavior that degraded his female co-host on The Voice and then talked over her and mansplained to her when she tried to share why she was offended as a woman.  I love this guy’s music and I think he’s very sexy.  But I maintain he’s an ass.  Still, nice suit.

I know very little about him besides this:

      • oohsparkley!

I think he’s adorable, sexy and really nice on the Voice. I think Xtina is the annoying diva on that show. But I have to admit I haven’t seen every episode, so I might have missed something.

        • peacockprincess

I saw the episode and Xtina was being a complete Diva and extremely rude.  Adam was a downright gentleman about it.

          • wisdomy

Neither of them exactly covered themselves in glory over the Tony Lucca thing.  That said, while I have no problem with Christina, I also have no desire to do filthy and lecherous things to her.  Team Adam.

  • Imasewsure

Love those sunglasses! And the other thing I want is an ice coffee… but not from Starbucks… I’m a snob

  • DeborahJozayt

Those pants look 2 sizes too big on him.

    • YoungSally

They need to be that big to contain whatever is trying to escape from his right pocket.

  • http://twitter.com/Bookmanfilm BookManFilm

    clothes.off.now!

    • shirab

No no, because that would expose his tattoos, and I can’t with all the sleeve tattoos on him.

      • http://twitter.com/jennsplace Jennifer

MMMmmmm that’s what makes him MORE delicious to me. Yessssssss.

  • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

He’s gorgeous. I don’t care if it’s hip to find him a douche, the man is hot.

    • blogless

See, this is where I scratch my head. I think the guy is very average looking, even sort of homely. But because he thinks and acts like he’s so hot the public sort of buys into it.

Then again this is just my taste and my opinion, obviously.

      • formerlyAnon

”because he thinks and acts like he’s so hot the public sort of buys into it.”

I’m pretty sure this is a law of the universe – it works in real life too, up to a point. I think it’s one of the underlying tenets of T & Lo’s upcoming book.

        • blogless

My first job was at a department store and the store manager used to have me and a couple of other employees go over to the tables of clothes and muss them up a bit and pretend we were looking at them. Before too long there’s be a bunch of customers rifling through stuff next to us, and then we’d leave. It’s just human nature to want what we think other people want.

          • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

Yes, but confidence goes a long way towards making someone sexy as hell. That and have you ever seen him shirtless? Whoooooof.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I think he’s down right fabulous.  I’m not sure about why he’s a douche… I’ve seen the girl friends, but I can’t judge him on that. He’s not the only one.  I love his style.  Though this looks like it needs a belt…..

    • Mary229

I think the douche factor has to do with the fact that he’s been called out for misogyny in many of the things that come out of his mouth.   I think ::that:: is why people think he’s a douche.  Not the girlfriends.  ::shrugs::

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

And thank you both for clearing that up =)

    • AnaRoW

Supposedly he brags a lot about his promiscuity and not using protection.  I don’t hate him for it though. One, he’s single and, two, I’m not sleeping with him so it doesn’t affect me.

      • formerlyAnon

And 3, since he brings it up himself, potential partners are warned and only have themselves to blame.

    • RebeccaKW

I think he’s pretty funny on the Voice.  He and Blake.

  • blogless

I think he probably wears that makeup all the time.

That suit does look fantastic but it’s sooo hard for me to get past his douchebaggery.

  • alyce1213

The douchebag looks nice.  I’m more interested in the very good-looking bearded handler behind him.

  • http://twitter.com/holocausticity E. Sevilla

that second picture is so douchetastic i can’t
i concur with everything you said, tho. the effort is much appreciated, and he’s a beautiful man.

  • CJHogan

I think the suit is great and looks great on him–and I also appreciate the effort. However, did anyone see him on The Late Show? He didn’t know how to sit in his suit. He looked like he was kicking back at home watching a game. While I didn’t mind that his splayed legs gave a nice crotch shot, I don’t think it helped the more polished image he was obviously going for with the suit. Still, he does, as my mother would say, clean up nice.

  • J D

    Those shoes.  No.

  • Janet B

Nice looking suit, it needs a belt.

  • minglumama

Love the suit and shirt…BUT, he could have used this as an opportunity to show off his accessory mettle and choose a better tie!!!

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

He may or may not be a douche, but he looks good here. I’m glad that he made the effort.

  • filmcricket

Has he got something heavy in his pocket or is he just happy to see us?

  • http://twitter.com/dixielou8 Ashley

What is with men and not wearing belts here lately?

  • decormaven

Interesting two-pocket detailing on the suit jacket.

  • BeeBeauNYC

I don’t think he’s douchey at all – I have such a crush on him.

  • Srw27

    I’d hit it :)

  • mshesterp

That looks like a bearded Viggo Mortensen behind him–and like Levine is stealing his ride.

  • granddelusion

    What a douche. ;-)

  • A B

Douche or not he’s super cute.

  • http://twitter.com/Chucko78 Chuck Barthelme

Looks good other than the standard and boring shoes.

  • http://twitter.com/RockShrimp Willow

    douche.

  • MilaXX

He only semi bugs me. I appreciate he’s making the effort, but the suits are a new thing. I will give him credit for growth though.

  • formerlyAnon

I don’t mind the greyness, I think he looks quite sharp. Especially for Letterman. I will completely forgive him the slightly saggy pants if he’ll shave the stubble.

I *think* I saw him on some show talking once and thought he was annoying, but I’m not entirely sure it really was him, so I have no opinion on his douchiness.

  • ChristinaRi

I don’t think he’s douchey.  Or douchie or whatever.   I think he’s talented and seems to be humorous as well as good humored.

He looks so much better in a suit.  It covers up the tattoos which is the only part I don’t like.

  • EverybodysStarling

    Totally would do that.

  • http://twitter.com/jennsaysmeow Fifi LaRoux

So hot. I watch The Voice just for him. :)

  • Patsy Stone

sans a belt pants are wrong in any decade.

  • nannypoo

I know people think he’s a douche, and I heard him describe himself as an asshole, but he was so kind and supportive during The Voice auditions that I have become a Fan For Life. He was great on American Horror Story. I think he’s having what the showbiz folks call “a moment”.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_QFW22QV426LUOEPGASPZJWJMDE MishaFoomin

Starbucks is all over your blog lately! Send me a chai latte.

  • quiltrx

He’s super pretty and has a great voice…so I give him a bit more douche leeway than the talentless ones out there.  i don’t watch The Voice, so maybe I’m just unexposed to his douche factor.

  • ccm800

handsome, young, successful and horny (esp. with models) = douche = lame. Have at it Levine, nothing douchey about it.  But yeah  – wipe off the kabuki smear

  • Dylan Bradford

No belt- cardinal sin with a suit.

  • RzYoung

I like his hot beardy handler!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

The outfit looks like a dressier version of Adam Scott’s “Parks and Rec” wardrobe. I need less Adam Levine and more Adam Scott in my life. :)
