WERQ: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Autograph

Posted on September 04, 2012

Say what you will about the girl, when Miss Rosie needs to, she shows up and hits her mark looking FABULOUS.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley launches her lingerie collection for Marks & Spencer ‘Rosie for Autograph’  in London in an Autograph dress and belt for Marks & Spencer paired with Jimmy Choo cap-toe pumps.

Autograph Peplum Dress. Autograph Leather Double Strap Belt.

We’re not kidding when we say that belt absolutely makes the look. It’s a great dress on its own, but pairing that belt with it really bumps up the sharpness of the look. And if one must wear neutral-colored pumps (which isn’t a bad idea with a black dress), then at least make those pumps interesting somehow. These fit the bill nicely. She just looks spectacular from head to toe without looking too attention-seeking about it. You WERQ that put-together shit, Miss Lady!

How on earth can ANYONE look this good sans-photoshop?! My jealousy rages, but she looks truly amazing.

      • http://twitter.com/iJenmac Jennifer McClory

I kept scrolling thinking, “I know these are snapshots, but dammit, I wanna blame her perfection on photoshop!!!”

        • http://ceciliasmith.myopenid.com/ Cecilia Smith

she’s pushing her abdomen out way too much, she looks like a real life barrel chested barbie. Don’t like the color of the shoes at all...HopsOnToday5.blogspot.com

      • TheOriginalLulu

This. I really love her hair too.

    • Sara__B

I agree — the belt is what makes this WERQ-worthy.

    • homofascist

Gorgeous.  Although I hate her a little for dating Jason Statham.

    • Patricia Gillett

The belt is killer so I’ll forgive her for the shoes. This time. But man, does that belt really make that dress. Snaps up to her!

    • claudemtl777

She’s stunning and never missteps, does she? Is that due to a good stylist or an innate chicness? Is she a good actress?

      • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.in/ Cassie

        Dear me, no.

But yes, she sure as hell knows how to put herself together.

    • http://heartprintandstyle.blogspot.com Vivi N

I don’t like how she’s standing. Also, she could have gone up a size.

      The belt is niiiccce.

      • kschwarting

I thought the same thing–is it pulling just a smidge across her stomach?  She looks gorgeous, though.

      • theblondette

And anyone (well, in the UK) can buy the belt for a reasonable price! Woot for high street!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2SYNWNMDUBJBJL66NUNMGZEIDI AnonMom

Yes, she is gorgeous.  But she’s so vapid looking that she does nothing for me.  I just imagine that she never has a thought in her brain.

      • nancylee61

Who is she again? Why does she get so much press?? Inquiring minds want to know!

        • twocee

She was the romantic lead in Transformers 3.  That’s all I know her from.  I think she is/was a model as well.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I can’t stand her, but she looks fabulous, head to toe.

    • Ryan Williamson

Meh. This dress is supposed to emphasis the vertical line and it ruins the effect by putting a belt on it. Also her body looks really disconcerting, she’s pushing her abdomen out way too much, she looks like a real life barrel chested barbie. Don’t like the color of the shoes at all. I don’t get why this got a werq.

      • http://twitter.com/aStudiobytheSea a Studio by the Sea

I agree.  I know the woman is preternaturally beautiful, but here she looks awkward, ill-fitted, and long in every proportion.

    • Judy_J

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the dress without the belt….that belt is perfect, and really makes the dress sing.  It’s amazing what one little accessory, properly used, can do to the whole look.  Brava!

    • marilyn

Rosie is standing in front of a wall of roses.  How literal.  If she is doing a lingerie line, wher is that?  I don’t like the shoes.  Too old for her.

      • granddelusion

On the other hand, the wall of roses may be 50% of why she looks so good.

    • PinkLemon

“say what you will about the girl..” who’s sayin what?? girlfriend is the epitome of classic beauty. LUH HUH.

    • ojosazules

She almost always brings it without being the least fussy about it. Like it took her 15 minutes.

    • MK03

That BETTER come in my size.

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

She clearly read your comment earlier this morning about “chin up, tits out”, because that’s exactly how she’s standing.  Not a fan of her stance in this particular case…..her whole body looks misaligned, somehow.  Can anyone else see Mad Men’s Joanie in a dress like this?

    • Tamara Hogan

I can’t give her a WERQ because the dress looks a little tight around her abdomen.

    • jilly_d

that belt is possibly the best styling choice ever, in the history of the world.

    • IMNAngryLiberal

I still have no idea who Ms. RH-W is, but she looks fabulous.  Is she maybe a ringer that Hollywood is using to class up the Red Carpet?

    • kimmeister

Does she not work for Victoria’s secret anymore?  I wonder what they think of her launching a rival line . . .

    • unbornfawn

Lovely. Lucky girl to get a backround that wasn’t a bunch of advertising logos!

      • RebeccaKW

I was thinking the same thing.  How nice to not see a riot of colors or logos making the background distracting.  And I feel like it’s just the right amount-mostly greenery with a good smattering of flowers.

    • Kate4queen

I love Marks and Spencers knickers, so I bet Rosie’s lingerie will be good!

      • Introspective

I grew up in the Bronx but my aunt lives in London and always sent me and my sis Marks n Sparks undies as a kid. Loved them back then and still love them now! M & S is so one of the very best things about the UK.

    • alyce1213

I love everything, especially the belt, and I think the shoes are gorgeous — sophisticated grown-up lady shoes.

    • http://profiles.google.com/rosatcollege Ros Clarke

WERQ is always impressive. But a WERQ while wearing Marks and Spencers? That is pure unadulterated clothes-wearing GENIUS.

    • CQAussie

I love this dress!  The belt and the shoes really make the look.  I’d totally wear this – except maybe the frills at the hips, that might work against me =)

    • Spreecord

      Fucking peplums.

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Lovely.  Just LOVELY.  I love those shoes.

    • https://twitter.com/LisaF1163 Lisa

I dunno. I think she looks fine, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a WERQ.  It’s pretty, and very basic.

    • MilaXX

I would have never thought to pair that belt with that dress, but she is making all of these pieces look really great.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I fear the world may be coming to an end when such a dress is too tight on someone with Rose’s body.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

Seeing as she’s a model, that’s damning with faint praise as showing up, hitting her mark, and looking fabulous is the LEAST that should be expected of her.

    • DTLAFamilies

I don’t know, guys. You seem to consistently overrate this girl. Yes, she is one of the most stunning women on the planet, but this dress is very basic (and too tight), even with the admittedly great belt. And the shoes are a big ole mismatch.

      • AthenaJ

Agreed, the shoes are decent – but a more colorful, attention getting shoe is called for in this situation.

    • leave_Blake_alone

The belt was a great choice, and her hair looks fantastic. Definitely a WERQ

    • Lilithcat

The dress is better without the belt.  That vertical line is what makes the dress less run-of-the-mill, and the belt wrecks that line.

The shoes look odd with that dress, too, for reasons upon which I cannot put my finger.

For me, it’s nowhere near a WERQ.  It’s barely an “in”.

    • Call me Bee

Oh yes!  That is the way to have a peplum on a dress.  With subtlety.  I really dig the shoes, too.

    • Lilak

      C’mon, TLo . . . this is a ‘Nice’ at best.

Careful, or your ‘WERQ’ designation will become as meaningless as standing ovations are these days.
      Standards, boys, standards!

    • quiltrx

I hate her “look at my boobs, look at my tits” pose!  Stand up straight.  She’s giving great face, though (quiltrx says through gritted teeth because she hates RHW for no reason).

      • Ceur

That last pose is ridiculous. Her face is way too often ‘I’m better than you and by the way something here stinks and it’s not me and did I mention I have great boobs and by the way why are you talking to me, commoner?’ I a l m o s t prefer the blank fuck me-stare of Blake Lively. Almost. Luckily I can pick none. :)

        • AthenaJ

I would normally say she’s emphasising the point of her lingerie line launch (with her tits), however I’m guessing this is just how she usually poses. She’s hot and she knows it – perhaps a bit too well. Girl certianly has the ‘everyone wants to be me or do me’ thing down pat. *Snaps up to TLo for that one!*

    • crash1212

Wow. It’s really amazing how much better that dress looks with the belt! “Accessorizing is what separates us from the animals” – from some movie…I think. Excellent look. Nicely done.

    • Thathoodwink

She looks beautiful….but who is she? I can’t keep track of all these gals!

    • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

For some reason I’m really focused in on the shoes here, in the close-up shot.  First thought:  “Wow, the shoes actually fit!”  Second thought: “Well, at least the right one does.”  Third thought: “Man, that looks painful.”  Look at the ankle arch – she’s standing on her tiptoes with almost no support.

    • TieDye64

Yeah, she’s looking pretty effing amazing here. Can’t disagree with you boys here.

    • ccm800

celebs got the wonkiest eyes! Is it part of the satanic contract or what? PS: Yes she looks great – shes a damn super model – she ought to – but kudos for keeping it sophisticated instead of tacky sexy whorey

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/J5QKZG5NFXQE3MLXFN3MAQDUTA Mary Stone

OK, where can I get that belt?  Love it, it’s perfect.

    • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

      I love the belt.

    • http://www.facebook.com/kung.pu.5 Kung Pu

Like the top part. But then… then the out of place belt, the random cloth bumps (flaps?) on the hips that do nothing and are not creative, the shoes that go eh with the overall outfit… not very impressive.

    • guest2visits

Simple and chic, and look – it actually goes to the knee without losing anything sexy.  Points for not wearing adult diapers,
children’s itty bitty frocks, Vegas stripper-glitter, or see-through curtains.

    • Khaleesi1031

Even her blush is the exact color of the roses behind her, English Rose indeed!

    • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

man, that woman is GORE-JUSS!  the dress is a bit tight in the tummy, and i would have liked a touch of gold jewelry.  a discreet bracelet or a ring, or both.

    • LambeeBaby

Yes! Much better on Rose than the model. The belt is great and the shoes are awesome. Completely agree on the elevation of the nude pump to spectacular.

    • enchanted216

      Dress is too tight.
