The Look: Kate Hudson Talks Personal Style

Posted on September 12, 2012

Darlings, we’ve got exactly one more show to attend at New York Fashion Week and then we’re going out and stuffing our faces silly. We’ve had a long day of fashion and celebrities, which we’ll tell you all about later, including the time Kanye & Kim’s bodyguards almost knocked Lorenzo over and the time Jenna Dewan-Tatum told us she loves us even though we make no secret about wanting to steal her husband from her.

In the meantime, here’s T Lo gal pal and Harper’s Bazaar editor Laura Brown chatting up Kate Hudson and pawing through her closet. That should keep you entertained for a little while. And yes, Laura really is that funny. In fact, she’s the funniest fashion editor we’ve ever met. Granted, they’re not a group known for their comedy skills, but still.

And don’t worry, darlings. We may have name-dropped like crazy in this post, but it’s back to drudgery starting tomorrow. Our Cinderella story is over for now, which means we can eat until we turn into pumpkins tonight.

  • I say load up on the stuff that is fattening and full of carbs. You’ve EARNED it!

    • CurbGirl

      Ditto that!

      • And ice cream, and cake.

        • LesYeuxHiboux

           Go full Marie-Antoinette.

        • AthenaJ

Don’t forget about fresh loaves of bread with butter, and french fries too! Fat and Carbs, YUM!

    • EveEve

And please do stay with us for drinks tomorrow night!

      • Though, if y’all need your sleep, we will understand.

  • Rand Ortega

Thank you so much, TLo, for letting us BK’s & PUF’s along on your amazing trip through fashion Wonderland! Mwah! Eat a ton (may I suggest my favorite NY resto, Jean Georges in Manhattan, or Red Rooster in Harlem?) & have a safe trip home to your babies!

    • MilaXX

LOVE Red Rooster  They have this yuzu sorbet that I honestly dream about.

      • Rand Ortega

The yuzu sorbet (which I now must try), the chocolate kahlua truffles, the corn bisque, the mac & greens…
        Now I’m drooling…

        • NDC_IPCentral

Oh, Rand and Mila – your comments have me drooling as well.  I’ve been happily reading about Marcus Samuelsson’s success with Red Rooster (and his engrossing life history), but I’ve never been there.  Yet.  Shall we arrange an outing?  Mmmm!

        • Peeve

Red Rooster sounds wonderful–that’s where I plan on going when I come in to NYC in a couple of weeks to visit a friend. But my favorite (and especially my NYC friend’s) is Craft. Yum! Lovely stuff. Going to Open Table now to make a res at Red Rooster. I’ll have to try all of the above!

          • Rand Ortega

Craft… The 1 in Century City in LA– 2 DIE!

        • formerlyAnon

          Stop, I’m begging you.

No, wait. Don’t stop. Describe. In minute detail. Is there (rapturous sigh) PORK??

(I’m working on diet and fitness simultaneously this fall (usually I focus on one or the other) so the extra workout time means my meals are often a little dull – the healthy ones we like AND which are easy and quick. That is a small pool.)

        • Introspective

The mac and greens are LIFE itself. love.

          • Rand Ortega

            That’s an axiom. Brill.

        • MilaXX

oh yes mac & greens are delish & get the tomato jam with the cornbread. mmmmm Maybe I’m need to go back to Red Rooster

    • lovelyivy

You guys need to tell me what to have at Red Rooster because I’ve been there twice now and thought the food was just ok, not great. The drinks were yummy though, and the DJ they have on Saturday nights at the speakeasy downstairs is the best!

  • schadenfreudelicious

cookies from Levain bakery, do it now! 🙂

  • C.

You have earned every calorie, gentlemen!

  • MilaXX

    Enjoy dinner!

  • jamie richardson

I totally have that dress she is holding up in that second pic! (Thank you, TJ Maxx, I have confirmation that I am dressing like a celebrity..!)

  • Judy_J

Thanks, guys. You two are fabulous, and I mean that. Sincerely.

  • ojosazules

How odd the Kate Hudson made it this far without having heard the word “elan.”

  • Have a great dinner, TLo!  You’ve more than earned it!

  • Hoping All On The Line commentary is just on hold while you guys get some much needed sleep and carbs. Great fashion week coverage. Love y’all!

    • Melissa Brogan

I’m pretty sure they tweeted that their hotel sadly does not carry the Sundance channel and so they probably haven’t seen All on the Line yet?

      • Makes sense. I’m not impatient or anything, I just loved their commentary. Joe Zee had to lay down the law at the owner of Unruly Heir and it was great.

  • NDC_IPCentral

You have earned every yummy calorie, Tom and Lorenzo.  Indulge.  Of course, after this uber-successful Fashion Week for you two, the plateau for drudgery/the regular world has been elevated quite handsomely.  Get used to the altitude, Boys!

  • Call me Bee

Eat and eat until your pass out on your couch in a sugar-induced coma and awaken with crumbs on the your chin and your cats sleeping on your full tummies.  You deserve it!

  • Jacqueline Wessel

Thanks for showing us all the beautiful images from fashion week. I could scroll through them for hours. Enjoy!

  • VicksieDo

Laura Brown clearly has the hotz for Ms. Kate!  Cute.

  • If I could have a pasta and bread-laden meal waiting for you when you arrived back home, I would… you guys deserve it! Great work, as usual!

  • formerlyAnon

Oh yes, treat yourselves*, you deserve it. And appease the kitties and sleep.

    *  I realize it’s not exactly blog-appropriate, but if you go out somewhere fabulous, howzabout posting a few photos somewhere (facebook, twitter?)

    Of the food, I mean.

[Meals around here have been limited to the healthy, quick AND easy lately, so there’s been little variety. Getting bored.]

  • Lori

the time Jenna Dewan-Tatum told us she loves us even though we make no secret about wanting to steal her husband from her.

This is hands down the best thing I’ve heard all day.

  • Bon app!

  • ccm800

    She looks damn good.

  • PinkLemon

    haha she IS funny.

  • Kate kinda seems slow, here.

  • Linderella

My love for all things Laura is eclipsed by my hatred for all things Kate.  Can’t bring myself to watch.  Though I did nearly fall out of my chair laughing at my reaction to the headline:  it must be the shortest conversation ever!
