Richard Chai LOVE Spring 2013 Collection

Posted on September 23, 2012

“Light” is the word to describe his collection; also, airy, youthful and sporty. We love how Richard Chai always experiments with shapes and silhouettes yet maintains a clean, simple, and wearable style.  It all feels modern and chic, but like something a real person might be able to wear and interpret.

Those last two men’s jackets are divine.  I need to go hide my credit card.

Everything is paired well- cohesive and beautiful.  My only issue is the extreme match-iness of the boys’ and girls’ hair & makeup.  Especially row #5.

Top row, dress on left… it’s like, oops the collar slipped down below her boobs.

I will love wearing this in Gattaca.

Love you for this. The clothes do feel like costuming for that movie, especially with the styling

I find his androgynous mix of male and female models to be innovative and interesting.  The color palate is unexpected and interesting.  The actual clothes show innovative design. This is very youthful.  The female models ere very generous to allow their hair to be cut.    I am surprised at how much I like this. (Since I am usually a stick-in-the-mud).

I doubt the female models’ hair was cut significantly if at all. It looks like it was pulled back into a tight bun.

the mens clothes are really nice. other than the last few outfits [particularly the second to the last], the womens are poor to fair to middling. odd, that, cos the mens stuff really has panache.

6th row, 1st dress: it’s just a little bit space-waitress and I would love to have it in my closet.

I like the color palette, but some of the midrff baring looks feel oddly placed and clunky.

I don’t believe I have every met the woman that Richard Chai LOVE is designing for. Perhaps she lives in a posh neighborhood in The Matrix? The colors on the menswear represent despair.

Those are some of the ugliest shades of yellow on the planet!

Oh god – the fuggirls are right. Bare midriffs are going to be a thing again this year, aren’t they?

Let’s all hope exercise is a thing if that’s the case!

Aahh to be light, airy, youthful again…..for now I’d just take light!

Hard to make men’s clothes feel fresh but he nailed it.
