Reem Acra Spring 2013 Collection

Posted on September 18, 2012

There’s one thing you can always expect from red carpet favorite Reem Acra when you attend their runway show: high-impact, serious mega-glamour. With teal leather dresses, cutouts, shoulderpads, gowns and glitter, it’s like the inspiration board for this collection simply had “FIERCE” scrawled across it in bright red lipstick. It’s all about the strong walk, the strong lip, and the strong, sexy woman. Diva glamour.

  • Dayum!  This is my favorite collection so far.

  • Full stop gorgeousness.

  • MilaXX

Eh’ Kinda of hit or miss for me. Rows 1 & 2 I like. Rows 3 & 4 are either boring or tacky. Row 5 again I like. Row 6 – one nice dress & two tacky  ones, Row 7 – nice. Row 8 – 2 nice, one Disney princess.

    •  *phew* glad I’m not the only one with those thoughts…

  • Pennymac

Gorgeous! Not a clunker in the bunch!

  • Box up the last row and send it to my house. ASAP.

  • Kate4queen

Very nice but not for me. I’m not fierce enough LOL

  • I love the clothes, but what I think I love even more is that the shoes don’t look ridiculous.

    • G

And they have hair and makeup that doesn’t detract or distract from the clothes!!

  • SpcilK

Stunning! The collection is out of a dream.

  • The shoes are fab.

  • ralish

In my fantasy life, I would wear all of these pieces.

  • gabbilevy

There’s a lot to love here, and I’m sure we’ll see plenty of these gowns on the red carpet soon.

  • Aly Light

The gowns look like something designed for a special edition Barbie. That’s not necessarily a criticism, but I’m just sayin’.

  • I’d love to see those pants on the red carpet.  Beautiful, no doubt about it.

  • Judy_J

I really love that first gown on the last row.

  • a_liking

Hey! I bought a teal leather purse about that color over the summer. Am I fashion forward yet?

  • jilly_d

I am having a relationship with the white skirt and pants in the first row. I WANT IT ALL

  • SewingSiren

I think that Gilda the Good Witch wore the prettiest dress in the whole wide world. I bet Reem Acra does too.

  • Rand Ortega

Incredible collection. So versatile. Love the sporty accents on a couple of the gowns/dresses. I see Cameron Diaz or Jennifer Lawrence or Jada Pinkett Smith rocking 3rd row 3rd look, or 4th row 3rd look or 5th row 2nd look.

  • BelladonnaRising

    Rows 3, 6, 7 and 8 are perfection.

  • Rin

for some reason, several of these keep reminding me of some other dresses from other fashion houses. The first one took me back to Dior Couture. The last row, first dress is kinda Marchesa.

  • Monabel

Now, those striped stockings just look wonky.

  • kolokOlchik

I could wear anything and everything in this collection!  LUV

  • The last two rows made me stop and realize that I am tired of the Sparkly. But everything above that, love.

  • I love the collection, but I sighed extravagantly when I saw the opening picture; what a fabulous fantasy dress!

  • you’renotmysupervisor!!

Irrational Love for the red dress with the nude side panels. I know I should hate it and think its tacky, but when it came down the runway, totally “Squee’d”.  That is how you do illusion netting, my dears.  Now we just need to get it on the right lady, and all will be well!

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Starlets will be fighting over that header gown. I want to see someone quirky and fabulous or totally fierce in that Dalmatian-spot gown. I am thinking Emma Stone with Whoville hair or Eva Mendes channeling drag queen. Fabulous stuff for a real range of women. I could see Kristen Stewart in the teal leather, Kate Hudson in the jumpsuit with the beaded top, and just for fun Taylor Swift in the red column with the sheer side panels. A little bit of fabulous for everyone.

I could actully imagine wearing those first two dresses, the white and black one, in the first row in real life. A much wealthier, fancier, and cooler version of real life, but still someone’s real life. I really, really like this.

  • j_anson

I am a total sucker for severely cut, long-skirted suits like the one in the middle of the second row. And the red with gold accents in the middle of sixth row is really working for me. Of course, the black and white floral gown in the headline shot is drop dead. This collection doesn’t feel super-cohesive to me, other than the silhouette, but I love a lot of the pieces in it.

  • I love it all!

The full-on glamour aesthetic is definitely my thing (including Marchesa, Vera Wang and de la Renta).

  • bitterk

YOWZA, I love this collection.  Normally would not love these colors, teal in particular, but it looks so fresh!  The last dress is a an outlier.  Not sure what happened there but it doesn’t belong in this collection.

  • OMG, this is just complete, total glamorousness!  There’s not a loser in the whole bunch!

  • wow. love.

  • quiltrx

Gorgeous!  Wish I had the body and the wallet for it.  Showed my hubby that first dress (LOVE), and he said it was a gorgeous Barbie dress.  Can’t agree more! 🙂

  • Spreecord

I would wear the shit out of that shit.

  • oohsparkley!

    I LOVE 23 out of the 25!

  • Trisha26

Just do not like the laser-cut fabric. It looks cheap.

  • Susan Carley Oliver

Cannot wait to see Tilda Swinton in 2B.

  • SophieCollier

That red dress, third row from the bottom, is fabulous!  I can’t wait to see it on the red carpet.  I just hope the wearer is worthy.

  • lrober03

Can’t wait to see that red gown with the see through sides at an event (though likely not a red carpet)

  • Candigirl1968

If I see any starlet ruin a single one of these gorgeous garments with some nude pumps, I am going to throw a rock at my computer.

  • Teal leather how very Perry the Platypus
