In or Out: Rose Leslie in Erdem

Posted on September 05, 2012

Oh, Ygritte/Gwen (who just wants to be a “secretereh”), we love your work. Such a pretty dress. Such a shayna punim.

‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘Game of Thrones’ star Rose Leslie attends the premiere of ‘Anna Karenina’ in London in an Erdem dress.

Erdem Fuji Floral-print Silk-satin Dress

Such a huge amount of product in your hair. Seriously, girl. What’s going on there? You look like you dumped a pound of styling gel on top of your head and just smoothed it all out. Also, something seems a little off with your makeup, but we can’t quite figure out what it is. All we can come up with is the eyes look to heavy and the lip looks too light for this dress. We’re thinking clean face/strong lip. Are we wrong?

IN! You’re wrong! Everything here is giving me LIFE!

OUT! You’re right! Cute dress/bad head!

Rachel Weizs’s multi-tiered dress did not impress. The Kittens voted it OUT.

Out. The dress is too long and shapeless, the hair is awful, and the styling is too casual (or maybe missing altogether).

    • EveEve

Out.  She needs some tailoring and structure to her garments. And sparkle.

  • KateShouldBeWorking

I dunno guys. I don’t think cute dress/bad head is enough to count as an out, even if it’s true.

    • Sobaika

Especially since it’s such a striking dress. She’s a lovely column of color.

Even if it looks like she did her own hair and makeup.

      • It looks like NO ONE did her hair.

  • LuisaNL

    drab, drab, drab. out.

  • Clueless_Jock

The dress looks too big on her.

    • VeryClaire

Look at the dress alone, you wouldn’t really know there was a body in there. It’s just hanging on her on top and weirdly long on bottom.

      • PhillyDeb

Really.  Can someone explain to me these dresses laying all over the floor?  They don’t look good on anyone.  The body is supposed to hold the dress up, not the floor!  I can’t stand it.  Love this dress but it looks ridic

    • ampg

It’s at least a size too big – look at how much the belt cinches it in at the waist.  That alone is enough for an OUT, I say.

      • Magatha

ITA. The dress needs to be the right size. We need to shampoo her beautiful hair and re-do it. The make-up is fine. Her freckled arms are adorable.

        • ArtSchoolDropOut

This is exactly what happens to my hair when it’s like the third day without a wash. Hence it being swept differently in every picture – keeps it from looking too clumped together. Poor girl definitely needs that shampoo.

But overall she looks really cute.
Also this is my first comment after reading for about a year!

          • Magatha

Hey hello! This is such a fun place, yeah? Even if everyone is appalled with what someone is wearing, the responses are mostly kind of “Oh, honey, let us help you, bless your heart”.

Poor me. My hair, after the third day without a wash, simply collapses and clings to my head and neck like over-cooked angel hair spaghetti. It cannot even muster the wherewithal to be swept into clumps.

  • TheLaurenJean

I kinda like it! She looks to be loving what she’s wearing, and I like the makeup. I say In.

  • janetjb

I want to like this, but it’s an OUT.

The dress is too big and her hair is awfully casual.

  • deliadee

Out.  Dress is too long/too big, hair is terrible.  Pretty dress though.  Anyone else thinks she looks a little like Maria Shriver, esp. in the closeup?

    • jennifromcali

      I was thinking Debra Messing!

      • deliadee

        yep, I see that too!

    • oohsparkley!

I saw it in the strong jaw.

  • TheOriginalLulu

I’m also thinking her foundation looks kind of like a mask. It looks a little darker than the rest of her and personally I think a girl with freckles should wear very sheer foundation. Why hide your cute freckles?
I will say that she looks absolutely beautiful in that close up pic where she’s smiling. Very very pretty girl.

  • Vickiefantastico

How do I not recognize this woman? I watch both of those shows!

The hair is hideous but the dress is cute on her. The waist might be a tad low. I give her an IN, but barely.

    • I think she’s the fiancee (whose name I can’t remember) who died of the Spanish Influenza.

That said, I find this dress super unflattering on her. She’s naturally slim, but this is sacklike and makes her look scrawny. And the hair’s awful. Reminds me of the time I used a deep conditioner that (somehow) I didn’t manage to fully rinse out.

      •  No… on Downton, she’s the maid who’s learning to type so she can become a secretary, and Sybil tries to help her.

        • Sobaika

Right, she’s the maid with the Northern accent.

        • You’re right, I recognize her now!! She just looks so strangley thin here that I confused her with the dying fiancee.

          • mshesterp

Yes!  “Strangely thin” is right–i think of her as looking much healthier (although I know she’s all bundled up in game of thrones).  It bothers me.  She’s got too much hair and she looks too lean for the dress, she needs to fill it out more.  It’s too long and too baggy.  Not a fan.

      • Vickiefantastico

I agree with you on the conditioner look. It also kind of reminds me of how my hair looks if I gotwo days without shampooing (I have really oily hair).

Upon further reflection, perhaps I was feeling a bit too kind before. The dress is really unflattering, both in shape and color. I guess I just didn’t want to vote “out” again!

      • Vickiefantastico

Oh, and I looked her up on IMDB. You’re right about who she is. She looks much worse here!

    • She was Gwen the housemaid in the first season who always worked with Anna. Sybil helped her get a job. Adorable motivational speeches? Ringing any bells?

    • TropiCarla

She and Jon Snow have had quite the adventure and flirtation this past season. It’s hard to recognize her without the awful teeth.

      — Carla

    • smallgirlsaretrouble

      You know nooothing Jon Snow

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Love the print of this dress – that’s it.  Fit is off.  Hair is straight from the Kristen Stewart product line.  Out.

  • MissAnnieRN

    OUT.  Cute dress bad head.

Also – did you hear that Ygritte and Jon Snow may actually be doing it in real life?  I have no idea why this excites me so, maybe because Jon Snow is hot and they have amazing on-camera chemistry.  Can’t believe I have to wait til April for more GoT.

    • That THRILLS me and I don’t know why.

Oh, and I vote IN because I love that dress so. Also, every time I see her as Ygritte, I expect her to say something about how she wants to be a “secretereh.” And I’ve read the books! Very distracting.

      • MissAnnieRN

Next season is going to be so awesome with the 2 of them.  Can’t wait.  I’ve read the books, too, and I actually like the series better, or maybe I think the series is doing a really good job with the books…or something…

        • IMNAngryLiberal

Were you able to get through ALL of the books?  I found the last save one to be a bit of a slog and I CANNOT get through the last one (which I purchased in hardcover even).

          • MissAnnieRN

No.  I devoured Book 3 like nobody’s business.  I read books 1 and 2 while I was watching the series, sort of as an accompaniment.  It helped to keep stories/lands/characters straight and provided more detail.  Then I read the third book after Season 2 wrapped.  When I started book 3, I followed characters from the beginning through the end instead of reading the book as it was written.  So I took Sansa and Tyrion chapters and read them, then I took Aria, etc..  It seemed to make more sense to do it that way for me to follow the character arcs individually.  I started in doing it that way on book 4, but haven’t made it through all the characters.  If fact, I put it down in June and haven’t picked it back up again.  I got the ebooks from a friend, so fortunately I didn’t spend $$ on a hardcover.

          • mshesterp

I stopped after book 3, read the rest of the plotlines on wikipedia, and called it a day.  Life is too short for looooong books that don’t seem to be going anywhere.  The first 3 were fantastic, and I LOVE what they’ve done with the show.  Fantastic adaptation.

          • Sobaika

I’m deliriously mad about the books (so much so that I find the show to be just okay) but I did find the last one to be a bit tougher to get through.

Well, that’s not entirely true. I found DANY’s chapters tough to get through.

          • rawrgrowlrawr

…are you on the ASoIaF forums? Because if not, you should be. I live there with my fellow nerds.

          • Sobaika

No, but I’m going to have to check it out. I have no friends/family willing to read the books and have no one to talk to them about.

… At this rate I’m basically doomed to spend the rest of my life babbling away on the itnernet.

          • Yeah, those Meereen chapters were a slog, which is sad to me because I loved her chapters in the previous books so much.

    • bookish

Ygritte! I knew she looked familiar but couldn’t quite place her, and totally missed TLo’s reference to her character’s name. I wish she looked better here, I absolutely love her in Game of Thrones.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Don’t know her or the shows, but being curious about the guy – I looked up “jon snow” and got a scare!!  Some 80 year old British journalist???  What!?  Whew – I soon found the right one.  Ah, that’s better.  I’m gonna be ok now.

      • MissAnnieRN

LOL, yes – Kit Harington.  Hummana hummana!

    • another_laura

      April?!?  Dang.

  • Out. The dress fits terribly.

  • I don’t like the dress at all. Her hair is a combination of bed-head and beach hair. It’s cute 9-5 makeup, but definitely not red carpet. Sorry dear, OUT.

  • bookish

The hair is terrible, but the dress bothers me even more. It’s too big for her and needs to be hemmed! OUT

  • The dress itself compliments her coloring like mad and could’ve looked great on her if she had better accessories… however the wrongness of the hair, makeup & accessories = OUT.

  • alyce1213

It’s a very pretty dress but at least a size too big — it’s hanging everywhere.
Her hair is a gorgeous color, but a flat iron disaster.I really want to like her look, but I gotta vote OUT.

  • Out. Not really spinning my wheel here. It seems too boho casual for such an elevated event.

  • imspinningaround

The dress fits SO very badly, and that is the most unfortunate element of this look.

  • lovelyivy

She looks like she cried her makeup off. I hope that is not the case, but that is a sad, sad face.

  • ojosazules

A bit baggy saggy for such a pretty lady. She looked better after days of tromping through the snow in animal skins. Out

  • I think the waist line of the dress is too low and ill-fitting. She looks like a white walker: i.e. emaciated.

  • Game of Thrones hair and Downton Abbey couch fabric.  Which, frankly, I love. IN.

  • kelsita421

just choked on my lunch over “secretereh” — thank you for the mid-day laugh.
she’s so darn cute! and the dress is pretty! but something’s not right. she can do better. so… OUT.

  • gabbilevy

I’m not seeing what you guys are seeing with the hair. Looks fine (if nothing special) to me. Like but not love the dress. Lowercase in.

  • Joyce VG

The dress is pretty but way too big on her.  Her hair is all over the place.  OUT.

  • 1. Hairbrush.
    2. That dress is HUGE on her!!!

  • Out-to quote Rachel Green’s father, did she swim there?

  • I love the dress, but I’m going to have to say OUT on this one.  For one thing everything north of the neck has about as much order and beauty as everything north of the Wall.  No, no, no, no, no.  Also, I’m not convinced that this is a formal enough dress for the red carpet premier of a movie.  Granted, it’s not her movie, but still.  It feels like more effort was needed all around.

  • schadenfreudelicious

lovely girl, but she is swimming in that dress, OUT cause it just doesn’t fit her properly

  • OUT. It could have been so much more.

  • glennethph

Isn’t she the one dating Jon Snow?

  • Eclectic Mayhem

Love that fabric & what a beautiful smile.  IN because of the smile.

  • Judy_S

The messy hair goes with the too-big dress. She is auditioning for her next waif role. IN.

  • SewingSiren

I’m more interested in the two in the background of the 1st pic.  Lacy white granny dress with cincher belt and blonde bun at the nape of her neck and her companion  black mini coat with  black boots , black tights and and cat cut.

  • Her face is a different shade than the rest of her body, that’s what’s wrong with the makeup. Seriously, it’s like she’s wearing a mask.

  • VeryClaire

Usually I think you guys are too picky about hair, but you’re right here. That’s what I look like after a day at the beach – with the salt water still in my hair. It’s so dirty and messy as to be distracting from everything else. Pretty dress but the skirt’s too long and oddly shaped.

  • call_me_schmeg

oh she’s such a cutie. but that hair looks like she’s been on a sailboat all day. (i’ve never been on one. ever.) and she’s so slight that even the belt isn’t doing it’s proper cinching. so, unfortunately, no. OUT.
but i hear her secretarial skills are excellent!

  • oh the hair is a little..greasy looking…but overall I think it’s an IN–she looks comfortable yet chic. I hadn’t realized how pretty she was until this!

  • kittenwithaquip

Okay, as a redhead I think it’s fair of me to say that she needs to FIRE HER FUCKING MAKEUP ARTIST! (It makes me so irritated I’m yelling.) For some reason most pale foundations have too much yellow and/or people think that having freckles means you need to look yellow. I’ve never understood it. I use translucent or color-correcting mineral makeup because I’m pretty pale, as are my freckles. Why? Because me no likey sun, and sun no likey me. Really, it’s okay to be pale. With the right lipstick and eyeshadow redheads DON’T look washed out. It’s just tricky to get right, especially because everybody and their made-up dog tell you you need peach lipstick and blush (I never wear blush, I have plenty of pink in my cheeks) and brown eyeshadow. I can’t even look at anything else because the makeup pisses me off so much.

  • teensmom99

everything you say plus the dress is enormous on her.  At first I thought the top needed to be taken in and then I scrolled down.

  • AuntieAnonny

  • rissa42210

Okay, the dress is pretty, but it’s a little big on her in every way.  Her hair is just a travesty.  Her make-up looks like the neat version of the morning after a night that you can’t remember.  So, out.

  • petalfrog

About right…. as a redhead I am loving her freckles and her gorgeous (albeit overly producted) hair. Love the dress, needed a belt I think.

  • mightbewrong

Love the dress so much I’m having a hard time criticizing the head

  • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

She’s a beautiful girl, but she’s much too slender for that dress and hair and make-up are awful.  Out.

  • OUT. Yucky. She looks a little used and tired. Sorry Rose!!

  • granddelusion

Not perfect, but I like the dress, and I like it on her. I get so tired of tits/crotch falling out of women’s clothes on the red carpet. This is pretty and refreshing. Maybe a tad long, but a minor quibble.

  • newleaf1

In, but only because she’s just so darn pretty and the dress is a lovely print.  Very kimono like.  Hard to believe she’s Gwen – I never would have recognized her.

  • OUT!  Just messy -the dress is too big, her hair looks dirty, and the makeup’s just not there.

  • Emily Waitz

The dress is way too big and her hair is terrible!    There’s nothing “in” about this, I think she needs some serious help.  She is/was so cute on Downton Abbey!  I am sad.

  • Dress is at least a size too big. Should’ve gone with a smokey eye drawing on one of the blues in the dress. Also, who is she on Game of Thrones? Not connecting in my head.

  • marilyn

Out.  The dress looks too much like a stay-at-home-caftan.  The colors are not good for her.  Who cares about her hair and face?

  • Judy_J

First off, that dress, while fabulous, is at least one size too big for her.  She’s drowning in it.  And speaking of drowning, her hair looks like she just swam 50 laps.  Was this a last minute event for her?  Everything about her look screams that it was.  OUT.

  • kciamelia

Out! Love the dress and her; but totally agreeing with the greasy bed hair.. and I believe she could’ve gone a size down in the dress.

  • Out. Gorgeous dress needs to be fitted better, the belt sags, the hair is so sad.

  • giiiirrrr

Not gel, I think maybe mousse and hairspray.  I don’t mind it because it doesn’t look crunchy.  *Very* pretty dress, could use a real belt, be fitted better, and the neckline could be higher.  Makeup is fine.  She’s a lovely girl and quite a good actress.  So, IN.

  • Violina23

My first thought on the hair was “Kelly Kapowski”

  • H3ff

She is so pretty, and in such a pretty dress. In, despite the minor problems.

  • mjude

    poor thing….OUT

  • Trisha26

OUT all around. The dress looks like a sack on her – she’s skin and bones. What’s strange is that in the “wind-blown” photo her hair looks fine – still not appropriate however.

  • belfebe

Her hair could use some work, and she could have better makeup.  Having said that, I like this dress and she looks good in it.  IN.

  • Out.  Surprised you like the puddled up hanging on her dress. I didn’t notice her head for looking her swimming in that dress.

  • EverybodysStarling

You know nothing (about appropriate styling), Ygritte. But I still love her.

  • prettybigkitty

Out.  The dress appears to be about 2 sizes too big for her.   Too much product and too much dress.

  • OUT. I love the dress but it’s either too big on her or just not her dress or both. It makes her look nearly skeletal and it’s freaking me out a bit. She’s so damn pretty too, she deserves way better hair, it looks messy and not in a good way, and a frock that flatters her bod.

    • Lilak

You’ve said it all … thank you!

  • j_anson

Definitely an IN for me overall, but… am I wrong in thinking that dress is actually a size or two too big? It’s too long and the waist seems oddly low.

  • julnyes

That is a lovely dress that looks like a sack on her. The hair and make-up are not acceptable. This is a definite OUT.

  • DCSheehan

Out. Everything looks sad and droopy.

  • cleep1000

OUT. The hair is stringy and the dress is too long.

  • She has a lovely face, it’s too bad that dress + makeup + hair = OUT.

  •  OUT – She’s not wearing the right size dress. I’m not picking on body size, but she’s not tall enough or curvy enough to pull this look off. As delicately built as she is, she looks sickly in this oversized dress that’s melting around her face. The hair is perfect for a beach party, horrible for the red carpet, and there are no accessories!

  • Out, for all the reasons you said, and because her dress needs hemmed. Dresses that drag on the ground bug me even more than men who’s pants puddle around their ankles.

  • snarkykitten

it looks like she was doing laps, suddenly remembered she had a red carpet event, and sped out of the pool without washing her hair

  • It looks a bit too big for her and it’s definitely too long, which is a shame, as it’s a lovely dress.  The hair is kind of tragic, which sucks, since it’s such a beautiful color. I think if the dress were more fitted and a skosh shorter, it would be an IN, but sadly, I think it’s an out. It’s a small out, though.

  • SapphoPoet

A conditional, lowercase in. She gets a pass because she wore an eyecatching print. But the dress could have used some tailoring, she needs better jewelry, and her hair makes me sad.

  • Larkin21

Love the dress and even like the make-up. I’d probably prefer a stronger lip but I don’t think the eyes are overdone. The hair’s not good but I still give her a tentative IN because I do love that dress on her.

  • tereliz

I gotta give her an in because she’s still cute even with the current hair and make-up. LOVE that dress, especially with her coloring.

  • drowned rat

  • Did she get caught in a rainstorm?

  • Dot

Looks like she rolled out of bed in yesterday’s hair and makeup and threw on her big sister’s dress.

  • nancy

Out. She looks like she’s been trapped in the high humidity we’ve had here, all wilty and droopy.

  • Snailstsichr

OUT. Get a new hair stylist and hem the dress, please.

  • MilaXX

OUT! She needs to wash her hair that look all kinds of nasty.  I don’t mind the lip, but the eyeliner is too much this what could/should be a summery look. Dress also look an inch or 2 too long.

  • another_laura

Kind of on the fence, but in the end I’m going with OUT because of the missed potential here.  The dress is lovely but needed alternation to fit her properly.  The hair and makeup should have been much much better.  Her stylist, he knows nothing.

  • elleg929

OUT – Honey, do not follow K-Stew’s lead of red carpet hair.

  • OUT.  she looks like something the cat dragged in.  the dress is too big, and the gaping armhole provides a most unpleasant view of her rather gaunt armpit.  i won’t even start on the hair it’s a shame, because you know i love me some redheads!

  • tallgirl1204

Wow, she and the Kennedys have some shared genes, no?  I think she looks lovely.  Bad hair, but I have no stones to throw.  In.

  • the dress is lovely rather than spectacular, which is a slight disappointment, given that were talking ERDEM, one of my favourite brands. the hair is overstyled to the maxxx. still, IN.

  • So totally out. Head to toe.

  • would look better as a shorter, casual dress

  • rumcg66

OUT. It’s a shame, because the dress really is beautiful and suits her. But she definitely needed to do something better with her hair, and makeup.

  • I love her but OUT. She needs to go down a size, that is some serious droop.

  • rawrgrowlrawr

You know nothing, Rose Leslie. The hair is awful and the dress, while gorgeous, is far too big.

  • TieDye64

Hmmm, I dunno. Fab dress, but it looks too big and a bit sloppy on her. The hair would be fine for a day at the beach. It looks pretty bad here. If the fit was better on the dress she might squeak by with an “in”. I vote OUT.

  • demidaemon

I just can’t get past the hair. AT ALL. OUT.

  • therealkuri

The shape (or lack thereof) of that dress on her small, thin frame is making her look like a famine victim.

  • Jangle57

My first thought was the dress is too big and the hair looks kind of funky but she has a nice aura about her so was going to give her an in but the more I looked at it, the more I realized both of those issues are bothering me  more and more so OUT

  • guest2visits

    What a horrible dress. The print and the color is making me vomit.  The dress is just hanging off her frame;
making her appear emaciated.  It’s a sad, wretched sack with arm holes.   Why does this dress exsist !

  • IN, I love it, I think she looks right for the season, for once on this RC!!

  • OUT – the hair is horrific.  Either she needs to wear higher SPF on her arms or cover them with foundation.  I think freckles are gorgeous but she has the redhead equivalent of a farmer’s tan.  Needs posing lessons.  She is a tall, slim, gorgeous girl, this is shameful!!!!

  • Lilithcat

Hem the damn dress before you trip over it!

  • piecesofconfetti

I don’t love the hair, but she’s so pretty and I love the dress, so I’ll vote her IN.

  • Christine Sterne

Well I love, especially the hair.  SO over those curls in the front.

  • OUT OUT OUT. The dress is nice and could maybe work on someone, but it mimics the hair and just makes her look overall droopy and unkempt. Her hair actually looks like she just got out of the shower.

Also, I think it’s hilarious that the dress looks better disembodied then on her.

  • I’m kinda sad to give this an OUT. It’s nice to see a print, and I love her red and white coloring, but there too much not right here for an in. The hair’s bad, and the dress seems like it doesn’t fit her right. She needs to go down a size, I think. Also, the dress would be super cute if it was knee-length. And had a contrasting belt.

  • greyhoundgirl

Dress too long and baggy–looks like she’s playing dress-up from her big sister’s closet.  Hair color is beautiful (as is she) –badly needs a trim.  OUT.

  • mom2ab

The dress could have been a knockout with a proper hem, but you are right- good dress bad head- OUT

  • In! I wish i could see her feet, that’s my only quibble.

  • MK03

Cut about two feet off the hem and we may have something.

  • melanie0866

The dress is just too big for her.  She looks like she needs a sandwich.

  • I’d adore that dress on someone with a bit more pumps and a bump, to quote MC Hammer. On her I have to give it an OUT.

  • Either the dress is baggy or she needs to eat a sandwich.  Probably both.

  • Out. She looks ill, like she bought it before the crash diet. I don’t remember her being this thin on DA.

  • Anathema_Device

Out. Dress is too damned droopy on her. Make up is okay, but the hair is bad.

  • Out. AND THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME REALIZE WHO SHE IS!!! I noticed her on Game of Thrones and was like, I know this girl, how do I know this girl….DOWNTON ABBEY. Thank you T Lo!

  • ChaquitaPhilly

OUT! Go home and wash that hair, kid!

  • out. it looks like she didn’t even try. her hair looks dirty and she needs something….different makeup, different accessories…something.

  •  That would be SO much better.

  • kimmeister

OUT.  The dress is awesome but clearly meant for someone a foot taller and 20 lbs heavier than she is.  Face is washed out.

  • frannyprof

Out. A beautiful dress, but such a missed opportunity to really wow with it.

  • So close, but just out, a little.  I love the dress, but it needs hemming to get rid of the puddle.  The color and print are wonderful for her.  The hair is a bit of a disaster.

  • aristida_girl

out..she looks so sad, that hair is so bad, i think i may be on to something here…

  • altalinda

Out.  The hair.  The dress looks too big and too long.  The overall impression is that she made no effort.

  • Wow, I am surprised at all of the negativity. I agree about the bottle of product in her hair, but otherwise I think she looks great. Love the print.

  • mhleta

Out, out damn dress. It’s at least two, possibly three sizes too big on her. (The arm holes are so sloppy.) And the hair, ugh, the hair. She has great potential, but she’s very far from it here.

  • Blondage

I love the print. The colors are gorge. The hair and make up are confusing. She is a gorgeous girl, and I don’t think it’s coming through. Her foundation seems a touch too yellow and I think it is throwing the rest of her make up off?

  • She’s gorgeous generally, but here it looks like they let a meth addict wander onto the red carpet.

  • zelavie

Out.  The dress is too big (and too long) for her, which makes her look ill.  A slender lady should go fitted with a dress like this, especially around the arms & neck.  Also, that hair.  Seriously.

  • The dress would be pretty if it fit her.  As is, she looks like she’s wearing a potato sack in a pretty print.

  • barbarienne

The hair is bad, but I’m fine with the face. My biggest gripe is that the dress is a size too large. Take it up at the shoulders a tad, and take it in around the ribs a bit.

She looks like a cute college girl going to a party at a friend’s beach house. That isn’t good enough for a rising-star actor on the red carpet. OUT.

  • YOU KNOW NOTHING, T LO! … Actually, I think she’s an out, but you know, I had to use the line.

  • You are in London, on a fucking red carpet. Dress like it. OUT.

  • bitterk

It’s all wrong. Wrong color, wrong hair, wrong length.

  • neofashionista

i think the issue with her make up is the foundation she picked out the perfect shade of jaundice, no bueno

  • poggi

Out. I agree with others that this is too big or her. I appreciate that it’s not vacumn sealed but potato sack isn’t a great look either.

  • afabulous50

OUT – but I’d be willing to buy her a cheeseburger.  She looks very hungry.

  • margaret meyers

One size too BIG.  (we don’t get to say that very often).

  • Carrieanno

Someone get her a sandwich. Out.

  • butterflysunita

OUT.  Her hair looks greasy and I’m worried she’s going to trip over her dress.

  • ccm800

OUT. So this is Debra Messing’s lil sis. no?

  • watchmeboogie

She needs to eat or the dress needs to be smaller. It also irks me when actresses with heavy freckling go to great lengths to cover all the freckles on their face but they don’t do body makeup. It makes their facial skin look strange and pasted-on.

  • jmorino08

She could play a young Debra Messing… she’s already got the eye makeup right/wrong.

I have to go with an OUT. The dress just hangs on her, like it’s three sizes too big and her hair is a disaster.

  • LambeeBaby

Whoa. Out. That is WAY to big.
I don’t mind her make up or hair but I am underwhelmed by that frock.

  • Laylalola

  • Wendi126

Bad head is never good. OUT

  • Bozhi

  • unbornfawn

OUT. This dress looks a size too big for her. The armholes look too big and the hem is swimming at her feet. I think if it were a shorter dress it would be really cute. She has beautiful hair, what the heck did she do to it?

  • Jacquez Preposterice

one inch off the hem and better hair, and I might not even’ve noticed the makeup not quite working.  SO CLOSE!

In, though, if just for the glory of that print on the RC

  • CatherineRhodes

  • SatelliteAlice

Out.  Her hair is giving me shingles.

  • AnneElliot

OUT.  The dress does absolutely nothing for her figure, and her hair looks like she just came from the gym.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Oh, I just out of the shower and threw on this dress and came straight to  the red carpet. It’s how I roll… Out of bed.

This girl is so out she’s living in Siberia. With wet hair and a baggy dress.

  • Kristy Evans

OUT. That dress is fitted terribly, and she has some serious hangover hair. She needed a red lip to bring out the color in the dress as well.

  • Out. the dress is too big, although I love it and everything above the neck is a disaster. She’s too pretty for this!

  • Anna Tree

lovely dress but the hair. OH THE HAIR. OUT.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

The dress looks 2 sizes to big – good lord, that girl is skin and bones!  Hate the way she’s styled her gorgeous ginger hair.  The near complete lack of jewelry is another issue, and who knows what shoes she’s wearing.  OUT.

  • formerlyAnon

Gosh, it depends. She’s WAY pretty. I like the dress, and I like it on her. Her hair is a gorgeous color.

But: She’s got K. Stewart’s hair product going on, the dress is too long and possibly too big (I mean, I LIKE my clothes to fit like that if they aren’t explicitly tailored to be form fitting, but I don’t know if in Red Carpet Land it’s an option for a female star with a decent figure.)

I’d be fine with an in, but for the straggly appearance of her hair at the ends. It’s just so not working. Is it fair to call her out on that alone?

So torn. Leaning OUT. Might come back here and edit it to in, though.

  • Mauricio González del Castillo

Its just so tricky for gingers to do good makeup, bless them.
Neither has Julianne Moore nor Christina Hendricks ( she´s more of a redhead) have managed it.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Dress too big.  Looks like she’s wrapped in the drapes.  OUT.

  • chitowndg

Out: fit is off and hair looks terrible.  I would have liked to see a stronger – but not too strong – lipstick.  Eye make-up is fine.

  • kellyjeanne

I’m late to the party, but someone needs a sammich STAT.

  • Sarah_Har

This print is To-DIE-FOR!!! Kudos to her for pushing the envelope and sporting a new shape that is more about the dress and her! I would have done the hair and lip color differently. But overall, still Drop Dead Gorgeous!! WANT the dress.
