As “Karma Chameleon” and “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me?” blasted from the sound system and the first few looks walked out, it became immediately clear that Alexandre Herchcovitch was having not only an ’80s moment; he’s also quite specifically having a Boy George moment. The bright colors, bold patterns, heavy layering and body-obscuring silhouettes are all right out of the classic Boy George playbook. We loved all the use of checks, especially when paired with other prints. Some of the looks get a little overworked at times, but when he keeps things simple – as with that stunning yellow coat dress – the results can be chic and playful.
