Let’s crack our knuckles and DO THIS.
Amy Poehler in Stella McCartney
Very much a personal best for her. We think that bustline is both too wide and too low for her, but otherwise, this is a fantastic post-breakup look.
Betsy Brandt in David Meister Signature
A little basic, but pretty. We’d like it more if it wasn’t so shiny.
Christine Baranski in Rubin Singer
What an odd choice. Generally speaking, it’s all gowns, all the time at the Emmys. We don’t want to be dogmatic about it, but she really sticks out like a sore thumb.
Connie Britton in Andrew Gn
The dress is pretty and the color looks great on her, but her hair was really weird.
Elisabeth Moss in Dolce&Gabbana
Y’know, on anyone else we might have hated this, but Lizzie’s been in a style rut for so long, foisting an endless string of colorless bandage dresses on us, that we can’t help but applaud the boldness and sassy-ness of this look. You go, Peggy.
Hayden Panettiere in Marchesa Spring 2013
To paraphrase one of our patron saints, the great Ur-Bitch Addison DeWitt, “You’re too short for that dress.” It’s a stunning dress, but it belongs to Stacy Keibler.
Heather Hemmens in Terani Couture
Basic. Great color, though.
Jane Krakowski in Kaufmanfranco
Also basic, but no complaints.
January Jones in Zac Posen Resort 2013
That’s a pretty amazing dress, but why is she sporting Halloween makeup?
Joanne Froggatt in Vivienne Westwood
Colorless, but very pretty. Her hairstyle looks great and really suits her, but the extremely obvious, bright yellow extensions are killing us.
Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli Fall 2012
A lot of people said this looked like a bedspread or shower curtains, and we suppose they’re right, but we still think it’s a gorgeous dress.
Julianne Hough in Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture
A beautiful dress, but her hair is awful. Her totally heterosexual boyfriend Ryan Seacrest actually bitched her out on the red carpet for not choosing the hairstyle he preferred, which was a gloriously off-script moment that left everyone involved a little uncomfortable.
Kate Mara in Badgley Mischka Spring 2013
Very pretty. Not loving the hair and the bangles are just a little heavy for the look.
Kiernan Shipka in custom Zac Posen
But honey, don’t do the “gotta pee” pose.
Lena Headey in Armani Privé
That is a stunning, Bride of Dracula kind of dress. Our only issue is that she really needed to go all the way on the makeup with a goth look like this.
Leslie Mann in Naeem Khan Spring 2013
This looked prettier on camera. We still like it, but the jewelry is terribly distracting.
Lindsay Pulsipher in Bibhu Mohapatra
It’s an interesting dress, we’ll give her that. We think her hair should’ve been worn up, though.
Wow. She looks so formidable as Catelyn Stark. We had no idea she was so tiny. Love the dress, but that tit-banner would drive us nuts (if we wore tit-banners).
Morena Baccarin in Basil Soda
Too complicated, the bustline is not flattering, and the color does nothing for her.
Sarah Paulson in Reem Acra Resort 2013
Beautiful color, but we’re not sure we agree with the black accents. Pewter accents would have lifted this up a little.
