Zach Galifianakis at “The Campaign” Premiere

Posted on August 03, 2012

Aww. You just wanna spoon feed him honey and rub his belly, don’t you?

Zach Galifianakis attends the “The Campaign” Los Angeles Premiere.

Nicely done, sir. We salute the effort. The jacket’s a bit too small on him, but everything else works fine. No, we wouldn’t have suggested those boots (or boots at all), but they’re so perfectly him and he’s allowed his little concessions when he’s put this kind of effort in.

What a sweet looking bear dude.  He’d fit right in at one of my neighborhood bars.

      • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

he’d make a perfect little body pillow.  i don’t want to sleep with him, i want to sleep on him.  you can have him though, as i am still marrying otakon beard finn.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

He’s not quite my type, though we’re heading in the right direction.  And you may have Otakon.

      • http://www.facebook.com/fiddlecub Kevin VanOrd

He may not be completely your type, but he is all mine. So adorable, so not-quite-lucid, so scruffy. Oof.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I was referring to him in the outfit and venue. Would I jump those bearish bones, given the chance? Hells to the yeah!

          • http://www.facebook.com/fiddlecub Kevin VanOrd

            I’m good about sharing ;)

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

As am I. Not really the possessive sort, m’self. Spread the love, man!

    • GorgeousThings

“Aww. You just wanna spoon feed him honey and rub his belly, don’t you?”

Except he will maul you and beat you to a bloody pulp if you try.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

That’s “effort”? He looks like my old high school history teacher. A very nice guy, but not one I’d commend for his sartorial decisions. The jacket IS too small, it looks like he slept in the pants, the button-down collar kills me, and I don’t know WHERE the shoes came from.

I think he looks cute, but only in the way that one can affectionately refer to a favorite, quirky old teacher.

And again I say YAY BEARS!

    • RebeccaKW

I love him.  And while I like that he made an effort, I almost wish he’d worn a track suit or something just to stick with his crazy “Seth” character.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/YQP72BQTLDYTRWEXLE4UDQGMQY mia

I totally have the (seemingly inexplicable) hots for back Zacky G and Seth Rogen. I just love a man that can make me laugh, I guess.

He has beautiful eyes and gorgeous hair. With that ruddy complexion, wouldn’t he have looked beautiful in a blue or green toned shirt? And maybe black shoes? I’m not really up on guy choice. Help me out Kiltdntiltd please?

      • MilaXX

I don’t think the footwear color is wrong for that suit, it’s just too casual and it’s a boot better suited being paired with jeans.

        • http://www.facebook.com/people/Ginny-Ellsworth/534496198 Ginny Ellsworth

Oh, I totally agree about the boot being too heavy but what to replace it with? Wingtips? Loafers? Dress shoes? And with the cool color of the suit, I was thinking of a different color of the shirt/tie combo to address his reddish skin tones.

          • MilaXX

A simple brown shoe.  I know he’s got a ruddy complexion, but I don’t mind the shirt/tie combo other than the fact that it’s a bit askew.

    • MilaXX

Agreed. He’s not a hard body ad the jacket a tad too snug around the belly, but he put forth an effort and the pants are hemmed correctly. I actually like the color combo.

      • fursa_saida

Me too! I usually hate red and pink together, too. Maybe his bearishness helps balance out the saccharine associations.

    • Billie_Dawn

I like that it looks like he actually takes care of his beard. I know too many guys who seem to be under the mistaken impression that having a beard completely relieves them of any and all duty to shave/trim/etc. These are the guys who end up looking like they have birds’ nests attached to the lower halves of their faces.

    • alyce1213

No, you’re too easy on him.  I love the summer suit, but the jacket is too small and the shoes–albeit the right color–are for a pair of jeans and inappropriate here. The tie, where he could have elevated a bland, laid-back outfit, is an unfortunate and boring choice.
I’ll forgive the wrinkled slacks because of the hot weather.
On the plus side, his beard is very well groomed, his hair is nicely combed, and he has wonderful blue eyes.
I mean, he looks nice, but a few tweaks and he’d look smashing.

    • SapphoPoet

      Oh, bother.

    • DaveUWSNYC

      Woof and woof.

      • http://www.facebook.com/fiddlecub Kevin VanOrd

        Woof indeed. *Sigh*

    • http://www.facebook.com/nathan.beesley1 Nathan Beesley

Not good. Jacket’s too small, those boots wouldn’t look great with jeans let alone a suit and pastel colours are for skinny, clean-cut GQ models, NOT big hairy men.
      That’s it, I’m done. Sorry.

    • Pants_are_a_must

What a delightful addition to the red carpet watch. Someone I never thought I’d see here, in all honesty.

    • plinkiedoodle

Sowwy.  He looks rumpled and slapped together.  Not polished.

      • formerlyAnon

         For him, this IS polished.

    • TheOriginalLulu

He looks a little cranky and I’m guessing it’s because he woke up that morning and realized that his favorite jacket…ahem, shrunk in the closet somehow. It’s ok, these things happen, but I think he should have run out and picked up a new suit. He’s a quirky guy, so I really don’t mind the boots with the suit.

      • littlemac8

I don’t think he’s the kind of guy who has a “favorite jacket” unless it was one of those hideous tshirts with lapels drawn on!  I think that’s why he got a gimme for his sartorial efforts!

    • Jessica O’Connell

      He looks suprisingly put together… it’s almost off-putting because it’s so unexpected…

    • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Am I the only one who never heard of Zach Galifianakis until the radio started playing that “Tonight, Tonight” song?

    • formerlyAnon

Compared to his standard appearance, this is a WERQ!

My son is a huge fan since the early-mid 90′s (I have family from the same neck of the woods as Mr. Galifianakis, & the offspring stumbled across him early on), and while I know nothing about him now, he was extremely charming to young fans who (politely) accosted him in public back when he was in his 20s.

      edited for sentence structure

    • http://profiles.google.com/grandiva1968 e jerry powell

      YAY BEARS!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Sorry, but this guy freaks me out.

    • PastryGoddess

Did he run to the movie premier while holding his top half completely still?  May I suggest an iron or event a handheld steamer next time.

    • ninjac

If I thought anyone would show up on the red carpet with an interesting color combo and still look good, I wouldn’t have thought of Zach. But he does look very good here. I thought he’d be more silly quirky, but he looks very British and stylish :)

    • julnyes

He is smart, funny and weird … I have no power against those things.

    • TSkot

You guys must have a thing for bears, for if ever there was a “go home and try again” moment, this would be it.

      • formerlyAnon

I’d say they’re giving him the same contextual leeway they give some actresses (Meryl Streep, for instance but there are quite a few) who get kudos for rather lackluster attempts simply because the attempt is so much better than their usual appearance.

He’s adorable and he makes me laugh/cry, but that outfit is painful.

    • littlemac8

Adorable in the sense that he couldn’t do any better than this if he tried.  I kind of want to take him under my wing and pat him:  pat, pat, pat.

    • DCSheehan

Love him scruffy, love him tidy. My goodness he is fine.

    • cleep1000

Seriously? You call this “putting in an effort”? Come on.

      • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

Did you see what Jon Hamm wore to the same event? Oh, wait. You did. And in that case, you wrote “At least we know he’s human, now. He makes mistakes!”

        It is to LOL.

    • guest2visits

Very cute – but would have been much better with nicer shoes.

    • ccm800

      Boots have laces?

      • Peri7473

Agreed, they aren’t boots.  I think that they are what used to be called “bucks”  brown suede, rounded toe, laced shoes.

      • http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ Tom and Lorenzo

        Uh…. yeah; they can.

        What a bizarre question.

        • ccm800

especially considering how many pairs of Doc Martens I have owned (lol) But I don’t think they’re boots – wither way they’re not very summer appropriate and not to fetching with that ensem – but considering Zack – I agree – he gets cred.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2P2ANLRZ6YAVGONA36I2AQJYGI VicD

      Positively senatorial – for him

    • Joanie Hunt

I don’t know if he’d eat the honey, but if you bring out the spanikopita, you’re totally in! And don’t forget to run your fingers through his hair. It’s beautifully soft. The beard’s a bit scratchy though.

    • frankystein123

      Looking sharp Zach.

    • unbornfawn

Nice job cleaning up. Too bad some of the other boy stars don’t try it.
