Linda Evangelista for W Magazine (NSFW)

Posted on August 15, 2012

Diva goddess extraordinaire Linda Evangelista puts the “super” back in “supermodel,” as she parades a string of cracktastic fetish outfits, alien invader uniforms, and superhero getups in front of the cameras of W magazine. This may not be your pretty of the day but it sure as hell is your FIERCE of the day, darlings. Strap on your fake tits and look to the heavens, Linda! We love you, you crazy-ferocious bitch!

Linda Evangelista is featured in the September 2012 issue of W magazine photographed by Steven Klein and styled by Edward Enninful. Head styling by Julien d’Ys. Makeup by Peter Philips for Chanel. Set design by Jack Flanagan at the Magnet Agency.

Most amazing thing for today. She looks like something out of a Mario Bava movie.  She has always been my fave supermodel!

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Lucía-Gavello/1253586868 Lucía Gavello

Planet of the Vampires! Although now I have that horrible Black Sunday still shot in my head and for that, I do not thank you Sir.

        • http://twitter.com/GuidosDaddy Jason M. Galloway

Ha! Yes to Black Sunday! Mask of Satan! Love it.

    • http://wipgirl.wordpress.com/ kristel

      Strange and fascinating.

    • crash1212

I want the scarf with the built in mask, please.

    • norseofcourse

Let’s hear it for that set designer!
I was impressed by the deployment of the “I heart country” runner on the staircase, and then Jesus and the bowling trophies showed up in the last b & w pick. Perfection.

      • norseofcourse

        *pic

      • Spreecord

It was the bowling trophies that made it for me.

      • http://CallMeJane.com/ CallMeJane

And the ordinary every day photos like the baby on the mantle.  Which is sitting next to a St. Christopher I think…. interesting.

      • bububear

That set looks just like my 70′s childhood home.

    • lizajane1776

      The alien in the fireplace.

    • Squarah

LOVE SO HARD. She’s one of the very best ever, one of the few who really embodies the overused supermodel label.

    • Sobaika

      Fascinating and odd. Very different.

I could have done without some of the boobs, though. Especially zipping them in like that, looks squashed and painful *shudder*

      • AuntieAnonny

Those are the “chicken cutlet” things.

I love this spread, but I’m dying to know how they even got to the concept.

        • l_c_ann

I don’t think I want to know how they got to the concept.

    • ChaCha_70

Bitch is FIERCE! My all time fave supermodel!

    • http://twitter.com/Wint3rhart Winterhart

Terrifying and fierce.   I love the last picture.

    • Imasewsure

This is why they should only use real models for fashion shoots instead of actresses, pop singers, etc. … she is an amazing model… fun photoshoot

    • joe_tey83

      Hold me, mommy. I’m scared…

    • Vanja

Showing the young’uns how it’s done.

    • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.in/ Cassie

LUV. HUH. As I once said about her in my blog, hers should be the picture under the dictionary definition of “fierce.”

And this editorial is fab. Weird, for sure, but fab.

    • LittleKarnak

I can’t even……the one with the hat and riding crop reminds me of Miss Barbara Stanwyck in the Big Valley days…

      • Cold Fire

now wait a damn minute, the big valley was a lovely show! Miss Barbara Stanwyck was everything, as usual!

        • LittleKarnak

Definitely meant it as a compliment…LOVED me some Miss Barbara Stanwyck….and Peter Breck was so hot on that show…..

    • sleepycat

i love this and the mid-century vibe.

    • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Reminds me a bit of David LaChapelle, though that might just be subject matter.

      • MilaXX

if it was La Chapelle someone would be bleeding.

        • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

Why do you say that? By and large, I don’t notice a lot of blood in the majority of LaChapelle’s work. To the contrary, from what I’ve seen it’s generally candy-colored bondage. The lack of neon candy colors was actually where I thought it differed more.

          • MilaXX

I’ve seen quite a few of his that have people cut or bleeding. Not all, but enough that I associate it with him.

            • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

              Huh. I haven’t noticed that.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=795138743 Melody McFarland

she is one of the most beautiful women to have ever lived.

    • a_liking

FABULOUS. I love the fake tits so f’ing much.

    • Susan Crawford

Now THIS, my fellow kittens, is a SUPERMODEL!

I suggest that for our weekly meet-up at the TLOunge tomorrow, we all don our fake boobs and our second-skin dominatrix gear, grab our riding crops and scare the bejesus out of the bartender at whatever fun locale T and Lo send us to.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

        Save me a seat!

    • MilaXX

LOVE this! it’s weird and fetish-y and stunning. This is like a super hero nerd’s wet dream.

    • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

Has a Watchmen feel to it.

    • Rand Ortega

Everyone in suburbia should dress like this. Every day. Even Jesus loves it.

    • http://profiles.google.com/valencia.lucia87 Lucía Valencia

Its incredible how much expression she gets through even when her face is 90% covered, THAT is a talented model right there.

      • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

        Not to mention 90% rebuilt!

    • SpcilK

BITCH IS BAD, BITCH IS BAD, THE BITCH IS BAD! Love everything about this spread, intense, surreal, and dramatic.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

Damn, but she still knows how to give totally fierce face!

    • Lisa

Completely weird, but FIERCE!  I love it!

    • http://www.ellenciompi.com/ NurseEllen

I love it that the credit says “head styling” and not “hair styling”.  These are amazing photos, and Evangelista is clearly living up to her name as the evangelist of models.  All you model youngsters out there, look at these, grovel, and LEARN.

    • formerlyAnon

What I can’t get out of my head is the pounds of sweat she must have lost during this shoot unless the ambient temperature was downright chilly.

Fascinating and so reminiscent of pulp novel covers/old movie posters.

    • Alexander Cavaluzzo

Totally ripped off Boobarella from AbFab! Still love it, though.

    • littlemissstrange

Gloriously campy. Love the shots of her slumped in a chair with the aviator goggles and the one of her with the black fedora and leather suit. I want to dress like that all the time.

    • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

      Wow.

    • Sweetvegan

She’s a superhero who doesn’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day!

    • Call me Bee

Wow–catsuits in front of bowling trophies and St. Christopher, even.  Fierce is right!

    • hughman

Scarlett Johansson must be hyperventilating in a room somewhere over all her missed opportunities.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

      “American Horror Story”, anyone?

    • Catiline

      This.  Is.  AWESOME!!!

    • fishmermaidman

I’m getting shades of Valie Export’s “Action Pants: Genital Panic” here: http://www.moma.org/explore/inside_out/2010/06/02/action-pants-genital-panic/ (Very NSFW!!!)

    • jenno1013

The one in the yellow raincoat is my favorite – the expression on her face makes me think of an ad for, like, hairspray:  “I count on Final Net to hold my style, even when I go out in the forest at night, in the rain, to bury the body.”

    • mjude

      i LOVE her.

    • quiltrx

She shows us the difference between a model and a SUPERmodel.  Looking trippy and bitchy and beautiful.

    • abigail3

These pictures are bringing out something very wierd in me–but I like it!

    • SapphoPoet

I think that carpet runner is the most scary thing in the editorial.

    • nannypoo

Grotesque. I hate every one of these pictures.

    • http://www.kittenmasks.com kittenmasks

I suddenly want a pair of fake plastic nipples.

    • http://twitter.com/yessveee Sarah Veenstra

Serving up Living Blow-Up Doll, kink version, realness.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

So very weird, but oddly fascinating.

    • http://twitter.com/amndad amanda lynn

      *bows down*

    • alwaysanswerc

      $10,000 worth of fuckery.

      Lovely fuckery, but still

    • Allison Woods

      Damn, girl!

    • http://stitchingincircles.etsy.com Tina

her waist is the tiniest thing I have ever seen — but it is a real waist, that comes on top of real hips! Gorg.

    • ChaquitaPhilly

      Oh What Fun!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Cracktastic indeed, but she’s still got it!  Not many models could pull off body condoms.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

I love that. If fashion editorials are going to be crazy, they should be CRAZY.

    • afabulous50

I’m never clicking on “Editorial Fashion” links again.  I need my mommy….

    • PastryGoddess

      I wanna watch that movie

    • Regina Harrison

That last one is so very Man Who Fell to Earth.

    • Judy_J

Super fantastic, super freaky, super ferocious, super model!  These photos are awesome.

    • kikisayshi

This is so weird. But I like it.

    • janierainie

      Dang!

    • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

Dare I sense a whiff of young androgynous Katharine Hepburn in these?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1208138556 Sara Munoz Munoz

She’s still got it. Love this woman!

    • jjfg

      Holy crap.  Awe-some!

    • VRuss

YOWZA! those outfits are unleashing all kinds of sexual fantasies for me! But then, I really am into that kind of thing.

Linda is the fiercest supermodel out there, I have been a HUGE fan of her since the 80s.

    • PrunellaV

Whoa. Has she still got it or what.

    • http://kingderella.tumblr.com/ kingderella

      LOVE!

    • TieDye64

Crazy freaking awesome! Every shot is mesmerizing. I mean, look at all the details and Miss Evangelista is, of course, showing us how it’s done.

    • http://twitter.com/nkk Nikki

I’m so sorry, but when TLo first tweeted the first picture, I couldn’t help but think it looked like camel toe… Sorry! I knowwwwww

    • guest2visits

Crazy, weird, and wonderfully done. She was made to be a space alien.

    • http://promiscuouslola.com/ Cate

This is a fashion version of American Horror Story’s Rubber Man. It’s titillating and disturbing at the same time!

    • sweetlilvoice

If she’s the invader, then I surrender!
