Joel Kinnaman for H&M

Posted on August 17, 2012

Darlings, we are way behind on postings today and scrambling to catch up. Since you’re such shallow kittens, we know we only have to put up pictures of pretty men to calm your restlessness. Bitter Kitten Nip, you might call it.

Anyway, here’s Joel Kinnaman, late of AMC’s The Killing, as the new face of H&M. Back when we were reviewing the show, we said he was totally dirty-hot. We were very wrong about that.

He’s just plain old HOT.

But he needs to find another face besides “one arched eyebrow.”

… I guess I should check out The Killing. He is delish.

    • MilaXX

Just look at the pretty pictures. Even handsome men aren’t eonugh reason to watch the dreck that was The Killing.

    • SassieCassy

Dont do it the show made me want to smash my tv

    • schadenfreudelicious

agree with MilaXX, even Joel isn’t worth the torture that show put the viewers through, check him out elsewhere and watch the Danish version of The Killing insead

    • Nicole Chubb

Don’t do it to yourself. Well, watch the first two episodes and know it’s all downhill from there. (He is scrumptous in those two episodes)

    • Sobaika

There goes that. I can’t remember being so vehemently told not to watch a television show.

      • JosephLamour

Giiiiirl, that show. Frankly if you watch the first two episodes and the second season finale you will literally miss nothing. Just watch RoboCop when it comes out (he’s been cast as the new one)

        • snarkykitten

*headdesk* why are they remaking all the great 80s/90s action movies? (I use the word “great” loosely, but if the Total Recall Redux is any indication, all these remakes are going to suck massive, leper dick)

          • Aurumgirl

It’s because they ran out of 50′s, 60′s, and 70′s crap films to remake.  And yes, they all suck massive leper dick–but they keep telling us that that’s what we all want!  So now, if you want to see any kind of visual narrative with interesting, unrecycled storylines, complex characters, and decent dialogue, you have to watch TV.

      • luciaphile

He was awesome in it, but sadly even he could not save that piece of crap. Don’t waste your time.

      • theblondette

Watch the original!! Just finished watching the Danish version and it’s one of the best things I’ve seen in ages. And yes, I hear the US version is terrible in comparison.

  • Judy_J

Very nice.  But yes, please work on a different expression.  Arching one eyebrow gets old fast.

  • gabbilevy

Well helloooo there Mr. Kinnaman nicetameetchya!

  • jonnyf8

I would watch this guy read the phone book.  Oh wait, I already did!  It was called The Killing — all 2 seasons worth of it — every episode.

    • littlemac8

Count me in – I didn’t miss a one!  I can just hear him saying “Linden.”  I will be watching  RoboCop and I wonder if the Danish Killing is streaming on Netflix!  It is nice to see him subject himself to a shower, shave and comb!  Heart!!

I think I prefer him scruffy and dressed down. This cleaned-up look doesn’t do it for me.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Not my style, but he works that camera!

  • TonyGo

    Must. Have. Green. Sweater.

    • In_Stitches

It’s from H&M which means lots of polyester in those fibers…but still, it’s beautiful.

  • thecitysleeps

He’s so hot.  Hope he shows up on something other than The Killing.  Perfect example of good premise shat on by the ego maniac creator.  Oh, the clothes are nice too.  I love H&M.

    • schadenfreudelicious

he will be starring in the lead role in the new Robocop…may prove to be interesting

      • Sobaika

There’s going to be a new ROBOCOP..?

Did Hollywood not learn its lesson from the Total Recall remake, or the Knight Rider remake or the countless other remakes that have been attempted only to fail spectacularly?

        • schadenfreudelicious

i am willing to give Joel the benefit of the doubt (cause of my obvious crush, plus he is talented), but better than Peter Weller and the original? highly unlikely…The Killing is a prime example of Hollywood repurposing an excellent Danish series and turning it into unwatchable shite, even with two fine lead actors!

  • ASK26

head down tilted left and one-arched eyebrow.

    meh

  • janetjb

Very attractive, I hardly recognized him.

  • Rebecca Johnson

He’s totally KILLING it in this editorial!!

    …Sorry.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Wow, I think I like my Kinnaman a little scruffy. He’s not doing it so much for me here.

  • famousamy

In the first pic he is very Ben Affleck-esque. But after that not so much.

    • PeggyOC

I was getting more of an Ioan Gryffud feel from the first one.  Weird.

    Killing me softly

  • RebeccaKW

    Rrowr.

Picture 2, in the cardigan.  Woof.

  • bluefish

Very cute and just my type.  Beautiful arms, wrists, and skin.

  • MilaXX

    He cleans up GOOD!

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

So, so attractive. Olivia Munn is a lucky woman.

  • Rand Ortega

My compliments to the chef! That is 1 tasty piece of tenderloin.  Never saw “The Killing”, but will be further on the lookout for Mr. Kinnaman in the foreseeable future.

  • kcaza

I will gladly take his one face.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

I just had a thought – Tlo’s comment about the single expression is well taken. However, it’s possible that these were meant to be seen as individual images (ie, in print ads, on billboards, etc.) rather than as a series, as we see them here. In that context, the single expression wouldn’t be as evident, or jarring.

  • amy_raks

Yeah, The Killing is addictive and frustrating, but I watched every single episode.  That said, I had NO idea until I just now looked him up on IMDb that he’s from Sweden.

  • imspinningaround

When people talk about actors dissolving into a role, this guy is Exhibit A.  If TLo hadn’t tagged these as “Joel Kinnaman for H&M” I would have just thought, “Gee, that’s one generically handsome Scandinavian man.”  He looks just completely different here.

  • Jennifer Coleman

    Straight Black Woman Gay gasp.
I suspected he would clean up nicely, but DAYUM.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=13953311 Missy Covington

Hey, maybe his eyebrow is just stuck like that…

  • ringthing

Yummy. Who would have thought all that was hiding under that ratty hoodie he wore on The Killing.

  • Joshau Norton

I swore up and down I wasn’t going to watch the second season of “The Killing”, but his character just drew me back in. If it wasn’t’ for him, the whole series would have gone down in flames.

  • julnyes

he does nothing for me, but the clothes look nice.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

of all things, a swedish Jew whose father was a US draft dodger. all that iconoclasm moves him, like, dozens of steps up the ladder.

  • http://twitter.com/SparklyCasanova UglyCasanova

Thank you TLo, thank you — really, thank you.

    OMFG knee-buckling HOT!!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Louise-Bryan/1177213326 Louise Bryan

His neck is going to get stuck that way if he doesn’t shift his head now and then.

  • crash1212

He is a cutey  – if limited in the face-pose department – and was the main reason I watched “that” show the first season, but wasn’t enough to get me to come back for the second. Who did kill the teenager?

    • Joshau Norton

In a nutshell, it turned out to be the aunt. But she didn’t realize Rosie was in the trunk of the car when she pushed it into the lake. Something to do with her being the mayor’s mistress I think. It was really convoluted and I’d need to watch it again to sort it all out. Not that I plan to do that.

      • crash1212

The aunt? That sounds convoluted! Thanks for the recap – I can cross that off of my list of things to wonder about occasionally!

  • granddelusion

Not much of a poser, but “plain HOT”, indeed!

  • TieDye64

Dayum, he IS hot! But yes, he does need to learn another expression, ha.

  • littlemac8

I didn’t even recognize him in the thumbnail!

  • prettybigkitty

    MeOW!  Purrrrrr. . . . .kitty happy.

    • Melvis Velour

WOOF!  If he rubs my belly, I’ll be havin’ a happy attack of the vapours!

  • Alyson Lamble

In these photos he looks a bit like a younger Keith Carradine, no?

  • guest2visits

Such a great second pic. And first pic. Handsome.

  • margaret meyers

Is he a Carradine?   And he has two expressions here:  picture one says “did you just make fun of me?” and the other pictures all say “let’s go make some fun.”

  • margaret meyers

  • CarolinLA

He was hilarious on Jimmy Kimmel recently.

  • Kato16

    When did THIS happen!?

  • http://twitter.com/jessicapippin Jessica Pippin

    He is gorgeous.

  • formerlyAnon

I get the strong impression that in motion, he’d be irresistible. Here, for me, not so much. Maybe it’s the photoshop/lighting, but he looks kind of plastic-creepy in these.

  • bitterk

He doesn’t do it for me but I do love the clothes

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_RHLSUVX3NCPB4OSS5BM7GZIXUE P. Capet

i just went into and out of a relationship in about two seconds without any muss or fuss.  loved the first pic, liked the second, and the third and fourth were, ew.

  • Lilak

I vote with P. Capet, below, on the pics.  (Still “in the relationship” with Kinnaman, however!)

Couldn’t face another season of ‘The Killing,’ though, even with him in it.  Knew that the U.S. release of ‘Easy Money’ (a 2010 Swedish film) was happening this summer, which took some of the sting out of Holder withdrawal.  Too bad it’s been in such limited release — perhaps on disc or streaming before the end of the year?
