Jessica Alba in Los Angeles

Posted on August 28, 2012

Miss Jessica looks very cute here; straddling the line between looking put together and dressing to get her shit done for the day.

Jessica Alba out and about in Los Angeles.

Current/Elliott ‘The Stiletto Wildflower’ Jeans

Surface to Air Cube Strap Wedge Sandal

Celebrities get their shit done for the day in big strappy wedges and tight flower jeans. You would too if you knew you were going to be papped. Besides, she’s pulling the whole look off. Those jeans are adorable and the wedges make a perfect pairing. The tank top keeps it all from looking too fussy. All in all, she looks cute and picture-ready without looking like she’s trying too hard.

Okay, maybe the wedges are trying a little too hard. But it works, dammit.

The wedges are my only beef w/ this look. Other than that, she’s adorbs!

      • fursa_saida

I agree. It falls apart around the ankles for me. Maybe if the jeans were a little longer or the shoes were more like ballet flats, not coming so far up the foot?

        • Paige Boerman

Exactly. The proportions just aren’t quite right around the feet/ankle area.

          • H3ff

Exactly. Her torso looks disproportionately long here.

        • patticake1601

Exactly!!  Cute little flats would have been perfect.

    • Liana Brooks

Papped sounds like something that happens at your yearly lady’s exam…

Anyway, I don’t love the floral jeans, at least not with that shirt. It’s a good Running Errands outfit, but it feels like it’s missing something.

      • Spicytomato1

A cardigan? I’m not loving the droopy tank. Her top looks a bit to exposed to me. And a/c is usually running full blast this time of year.

        • Danielle

Too hot out for a cardigan.  Maybe a bra instead?

      • call_me_schmeg

you’re missing a good purse. overall, i think it’s cute. i’d wear it. i wouldn’t look like she does, but i’d wear it.

      • kschwarting

I couldn’t agree more on the jeans–I just can’t with patterned jeans, don’t ask me why.

        • MajorBedhead

Because they look like something a toddler would wear. I’m not crazy about them either.

    • NurseEllen

I can’t imagine what one’s feet look like after a day of walking around in those shoes.  Basketweave skin!

      • Celandine1

I would have crazy tan lines! But a love a reasonable height wedge for running around town doing errrands.

        • TheOriginalLulu

I love a good wedge too. You get the extra height, but they’re much more comfortable (and casual!) than skinny heels.

        • Shannon Stewart

I never have tan lines — that requires tanning.  I don’t do that.  Interestingly enough, I don’t burn either.  I must be white enough that I actually reflect the UV rays.

    • Arrogant Dreamer

Her hair color is terrible though. Looks like she let someone play with Sun In.

      • MilaXX

She’s gone lighter for a movie.

    • Judy_J

I love the floral jeans, and the shoes are super-cute!

    • AudreysMom

in my husband’s fantasies, that final shot is me coming back to the car after leaving Starbucks.

    • Eva_baby

The sandals throw the whole look off kilter.  A nice pair of flats or flat sandals would have looked better.

      • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

I think the sandals look good – but when you take them off – Blister City.

    • Aly Light

“Papped” sounds a little like getting a pap smear, boys.

    • MilaXX

I think the look works. Those are 6 inch platform wedges, those are regular non celeb height wedges. The fact that she has her phone and wallet in her hand instead of some giant designer bag tkes this down to getting stuff done levels for me.

      • ballerinawithagun

        I agree, love this look.

    • HomeOfficeGirl

Very cute.  Those jeans are another example of pants you should NOT put anything but your own fabulous behind into, tho.  No cell phones or car keys in the pockets!!  It does bad things.

    • RedRaven617

This is a perfect “busy mom” look; the shoes are low heeled compared to what is worn on the RC

    • Lilithcat

Didn’t she forget something?  Like a monstrous huge ridiculously expensive ugly handbag?  I thought those were required in these sorts of pics.

      • CurbGirl

Exactly, and I have a new found fondness for her for that very reason.

    • MMS_SMS

Does she only carry a purse when getting paid?  The awkward handfull of phone, wallet and keys is odd.

    • marilyn

Isn’t she burning up in skintight jeans in LA in the summer?  Those jeans make her look lumpy.  I know she does not have an extra ounce of bodyfat, so she should wear something that looks more flattering.

    • kimmeister

The tank is too long.  Its length cuts her body right in half, instead of the more aesthetically pleasing thirds.

    • alyce1213

Apparently this was shot before the haircut.  Maybe she’s on her way to it?

Anyway, I think she’s looks great.  I run out of the house like that sometimes, without a bag: cell phone, credit card, case, and keys all in hand. And then pick up an iced tea or coffee.  Real life.

    • Funkykatt

She does look cute but I vote for a pair of Asics.  Gel soles, great comfort. LOVE ASICS

    • frannyprof

Those are the shoes I’ve been looking for! A heel (not too high), visual interest, sensible and sexy.

      • ballerinawithagun

        Yes, I’d love those shoes.

    • TropiCarla

She is totally adorable in this. If I could switch out the wedges for a pair of flats or cute sneaks, sign me up for this look next summer. :-)

    • SapphoPoet

Cute, but the pants look like they’d be very hot to wear (as in temperature). Long, flowy skirts for everyone!

    • Elizabeth Denton

She would have looked just as cute and more normal with some Keds.

    • marlie

The pants should be burned.  And I want the wedges.

    • elleg929

The jeans look like an old couch…not cute.

    • miagain

      PAPPED… I love it!!

    • PinkLemon

      Hate the shoes.

    • Mary Stone

Love the dark background on the jeans, it’s the pops of lighter blue in the flowers that bug me. And if I had the budget, and did not possess 3 toes that are exactly the same length as each other (in short too long for the footbed on most open-toed shoes and sandals), I’d want those sandals.

    • KSuKim

The pants are too tight, and don’t fit her in the crotch very well plus, as others have said, they do look uncomfortable. She is cute as can be, though.

    • msdamselfly

      Who is she?

    • MinAgain

      I. Want. Those. Shoes.

    • MandyJane

      I love those jeans.

    • cmb92191

The jeans look a bit tight. and she has something in her back pocket.    I wouldn’t wear those jeans .. but good for her.

    • Hayley

I often like shoes where it looks like your foot is in a cage.

    • PastryGoddess

Meh, this belongs more on the Whiteboard methinks.  Jessica is more famous for being famous than her “body” of work

    • Imasewsure

The only thing missing in this outfit is PRODUCT PLACEMENT and I love her for it… nothing to promote or feature just her comfortable, cute self (who I normally don’t like at all)… props

    • librarygrrl64

I don’t think those jeans are her most flattering fit. In fact, I think they’re hideous, full stop.

    • Shannon Stewart

The flower pants remind me of a tragic pair that my sister owned in the 80s.  We finally wrested them away from her and burned them.

    • a_liking

oh, i love. especially the floral jeans.

    • ASK26

I like the shoes a lot but not with those pants.

    • guest2visits

I don’t like these particular sandals; but they look fine on Jessica. It’s kind of cute. The tank is a tiny bit too worn or something.
And I know this will cause some to lose their lunch and dinner – but I kind of miss embellished jeans. Not a crazy amount.
      Maybe a couple painted or embroidered flowers or scrolls …. maybe even a rhinestone !    I was never fond of this all over print;
       – but I liked the jeans with the random star or filigree. I know; but I’m a child of the 70’s.

    • Call me Bee

      No complaints here.

    • quiltrx

I would like them better without the wedge heel, but I dig the sandals, and this is a fun look.

    • KrateBay

Girlfriend’s keepin’ it real by going out sans-purse.

    • Thathoodwink

Ahaha, the forever pickle-puss non-smiler, MiserAlba.

    • Claudia

I think she looks super cute!  Positively adorable and comfy!

    • CatherineRhodes

Must say that floral jeans are very unflattering — they’re giving the illusion of being very hip heavy.

      • gillian holroyd

yup, and they look like long underwear to me. Very dated.

    • Lisa Kramp

The shoes don’t really work with this look, but I covet them massively.

    • Phyllis Craine

Considering that she’s had a baby….her boobs look pretty good
