Dallas Launch Party Red Carpet

Posted on August 22, 2012

Darlings, since the Dallas relaunch ended its first season, we’ve been missing those Spewing Ewings something fierce. Fortunately, they all gathered ’round the red carpet in London for the U.K. launch of the series.

Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray and Larry Hagman

How adorable is it that they’re all holding hands? By all accounts, the three of them are good friends and adore each other. And they look fantastic. Just as a reminder, from left to right: 63 years old, 71 years old, and 80 years old. They must be utterly amazed that they’re standing on a red carpet to promote Dallas after all these years.

Brenda Strong in Tadashi Shoji

Wow. Not-Pam really wanted to remind the world that she’s not all belted sweaters and shotguns. That dress is too complicated and the shoes are awful.

Julie Gonzalo in Dolce&Gabbana

That’s entirely too much look for this gal to pull off. Not in your wheelhouse, honey.

Josh Henderson

Looks hot. We’d hate that jacket as part of a suit but it looks great with jeans.

Jordana Brewster

Pretty. That’s a fabulous skirt. And we’re embarrassed by how grateful we are she didn’t wear a pair of silly putty shoes.

Jesse Metcalf

That jacket is entirely too small on him and that pocket… thing is sad-looking.

      Chiffon. *head explodes*

    • butterflysunita

That Dolce and Gabbana dress on Julie Gonzalo is truly ugly.  And why are sheer tops still around?  This is the trend that just won’t die.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=768540908 Badriya Al-Badi’a

It looks like something one would wear to a fetish club on secretary or teacher theme night.

      • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

And OMG if you’re going to wear one, make sure your bra fits properly!

    • theblondette

Can anyone else just not get behind a tie with jeans?

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

And I was about to yell at Josh about his hands in his pockets till I noticed just HOW bunched up the sleeves on his jacket are.  If his hands were at his sides we would see how huge this coat is on him.  Its at least a size too big.

        • theblondette

It looks ridiculous. Bad look all round.

        • MilaXX

Maybe Josh and Jesse got their wardrobes mixed up?

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Hmmmm, maybe if we ask them to switch jackets all will be well.

            • MikeW_PHX

I think I should help them with that..  they’ll need to take their shirts off as well.

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

And perhaps any other hampering things they might be wearing?

            • MikeW_PHX

              That goes without saying. ;)

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

              Jus’ checkin’ my friend.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Patrick, Linda and Harry look GREAT. She especially is schooling all of the younger ladies on how to look sexy and classy at the same time.

I have a skirt that’s remarkably like Jordana’s. Now I need to find a reason to wear it!

    • ThaliaMenninger

But what we all want to know is whether Not-Pam, Sue Ellen Mishke, is wearing a bra. Or only a bra with no top.

    • PinkLemon

IDK, Julie’s kinda WERQIN dat shit for me….. :runs and hides:

    • MilaXX

First of all the old heads shut it down! They all look fabulous. The next generation folks did okay wit a few quibbles: Brenda Strong & Julie  Gonzalo are wearing “Not your dresses”,  Josh Henderson’s jacket is too shine-y & Jesse Metalf’s is too small. Still overall this isn’t a bad cast red carpet. The guys wore jeans but not Saturday at home depot jeans and no one looks really crazy.

    • Little_Olive

71 and 80? Wow. Maybe they are holding hands so they don’t fall. 71??? just… wow.

The jeans and tie have me very tired, especially with those kinds of jackets and ties (I mean, a wool plaid tie or a knit tie maybe…).  It’s like they cannot come up with another semi-causal look that does not involve Dockers.

      • kimmeister

I’m blown away by the 71 in particular as well!

      • schadenfreudelicious

71??..amazing, whoever her surgeon is, they are doing a hella fine job….

        • Kristen L.

You show ‘em how it’s done, Sue Ellen! I’m particularly impressed by her hair. Oh, to have a healthy head of lustrous hair at 71!

          • schadenfreudelicious

she looks fantastic, but still like herself which is quite a feat in the world of Hollywood plastic surgery…

            • DCSheehan

That’s what most impresses me. Linda G looks like Linda G. I want her surgeon’s name.

          • formerlyAnon

Well, there’s no reason to be certain all of that hair is hers. Odds against.

      • http://profiles.google.com/ameliaheartsu Amelia Logan

My bf likes to wear dark jeans, a shirt, a plaid tie, and a vest when he gets dressed up. I think he pulls it off pretty well. I’m so used to guys have shirts that are too small or too big, or can barely tie a tie, or leave their pants sagging, or don’t wear nice shoes… *sigh*

    • Lilithcat

I love that the old folks look scads better than the young folks.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_64HSRZWCSJ5RBFGCWDLFQOICYM G

Between the Tadashi Shoji that Mayim Bialik wore at the ATAS reception, and this one on Brenda Strong… I hate this “new” Tadashi Shoji look… just dreadful +.

    • gabbilevy

Julie Gonzalo’s makeup has rendered her nearly unrecognizable, which is sad, because I find her look charmingly fresh, usually (Not necessarily her costumes on the show, but anyway). I’m sad for not-Pam as well, because I think she’s gorgeous. And while I’d normally hate Josh Henderson’s shiny shiny jacket, he’s premiering a show in which he plays an slippery oil man. So… forgiven.

And as on the show… the originals are head and shoulders above the rest. And I know it’s Hagman’s thing to wear a ten-gallon hat, but I want to see more of those glorious eyebrows!

    • nannypoo

They’re gonna show this dreck to the UK? What will they think of us?

      • AnaRoW

Oh don’t worry.  Right now the Brits are probably much too worried that the world will find out about “Keith Lemon: The Film” to be concerned about Dallas.

What’s going on with Patrick Duffy’s eyebrows?

      • julnyes

Nothing they don’t already think of us (and by “they” I mean people who judge a whole culture based on their entertainment television)

        • MichaelStrangeways

People also forget that we get the GOOD British TV shows sent over to us…most of the dreck doesn’t cross over the pond.

Oh, I forgot about “Footballer’s Wives”…SOME British dreck DOES cross over!

      • MichaelStrangeways

The original “Dallas” was a HUGE hit in the UK.

    • 3boysful

Actually, I kinda like Brenda Strong’s ensemble.  She pulls it off pretty well.

      • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

oh me too. I’d smooth her hair to just have the wave at the end and ditch the shoes but the dress is not as bad as that.

      • Wendi126

Me too. Shoes are too busy but I really like the dress

    • voter1

Josh was missing one key element to totally make the look – a pair of really great cowboy boots.  It’s about Texas after all.

    • Call me Bee

A short- sleeved chiffon shirt is at once dowdy and vulgar. Ugh.

    • kikisayshi

Is it me, or does Jesse Metcalfe’s jacket have sleeves that are 2 different lengths?

      • Wendi126

He looks like PeeWee Herman…the early and better looking years

        • kikisayshi

All he needs is a red bowtie.

    • http://profiles.google.com/gillianholroyd gillian holroyd

I’d like to see Sue Ellen’s dress on Christina Hendricks sometime.

      • http://twitter.com/mirrormirrorxx Paola Thomas

I’d like to see it on ME

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Linda Fucking Gray.  I can only hope to walk the RC when I’m 71, and show the kids how it’s done.  Living the dream.

    • http://twitter.com/BryanInsurance Bryan Insurance

TLo – who is the designer/maker of that fabulous dress Linda’s wearing?  I want it!

    • Cat_In_A_Hat

Not-Pam, honey, hairy ankles look cute on Clydesdales but not on people.

    • http://twitter.com/TMamBo Therese Bohn

The Senior class did shut it down here! But the young-in’s all need stylist reassignment!

    • annrr

The first thing I notices was them holding hands. Having fun and showing them how it’s done. Love LH for rocking the hat too.

    • texashistorian

When I see the original Ewings holding hands, I’m thinking it’s because they want to start beating each other up… like they do on TV.  And, not that my opinion counts, but: Jordana Brewster is the most unglamorous starlet in Hollywood. I don’t mean that in a good way.

    • sk8tfan

I realize that I am carbon-dating myself, but I have loved Patrick Duffy since he was the Man From Atlantis.  He could still give Ryan Lochte a run for his money in the Speedo-wearing department, in my book. He’s still got it.

      • formerlyAnon

        It’s in his smile . . .

        • sk8tfan

Yes! It reaches his eyes. He smizes.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/FEP56YB4DUIXBWSLIMSSSGQHWY jimmack

Jesse looks like the guy from valet parking.
Josh needs to shine his shoes. Please.
Mr Duffy is as handsome as ever.
      Ms. Gray is class.
Mr Hagman knows how to work a cowboy hat.
Ms. Strong looks like she is trying hard to look stylish…way too hard. We need to be careful what we say here, the gal has laready threatened to shoot four people on the show.
Ms. Gonzalo looks like one of those Project Runway episodes where the desingers have to put together a fourth look in three hours and use the materials they already have.

    • Judy_J

The senior cast members look fabulous.  Whatever Linda Grey is doing to maintain her good looks, she’s doing right.  Larry Hagman just kills me.  He’s a true Texas gentleman from Weatherford, and he knows how to wear a Stetson.

    • YousmelllikeAnnaWintour

From the ankles up, I think Not Pam looks great and I applaud her for taking a risk.  I think the shoes are hideous though.

    • TheOriginalLulu

Bobby, Sue Ellen and J.R. look awesome. I still can’t get over how amazing Linda Gray looks. Not just her face, but check out that bod on her! At age 71. If anyone in the world deserves a “you GO girl”, it’s her.

Brenda Strong – Love the dress, hate the shoes. I gotta say, I think this woman is so beautiful.
Julie Gonzalo – WTF? She’s a gorgeous girl, but that dress is all wrong. I wonder if she’s like Ginnifer Goodwin, trying to wear “Fashion with a capital F” looks that just don’t suit her. I think classic, pretty and fresh-faced is probably a better look for her. Nothing wrong with that.
Josh looks hot. I wish he and Jesse would get rid of the little soul patch shadow things they have going on. Blech.
Jordana – I like it. Simple and pretty. Could have used some jewelry and I hate the hair. I think this is the type of outfit Julie should go for.
Jesse – Has he had this jacket since High School? Jesse, you’re making money now. Go out and buy a jacket that fits!

    • http://www.facebook.com/bert.keeter Bert Keeter

The origional cast is better dressed and styled than the new kids on the block! Linda is as beautiful as ever!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Clydette-Wantland/673315286 Clydette Wantland

Linda Gray looks AMAZING in these photos.  That damn D-G outfit on Julie is SO bad.

    • Dorrie Crockett

Am I the last person to find out about this series: Patrick Duffy & The Crab. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwaWrHuHxvg

    • ojosazules

I do not understand this thing for shoes that look like they escaped from an animal shelter.

    • m0r0

Linda Grey looks prettier now than she did in the eighties! You rock that sexy red slinky dress in your seventies mamma! I want to be like you when I’m a grandma!

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Not-Pam is trying to get cast in Downtown Abbey.
