WERQ: Dita von Teese in Jenny Packham

Posted on July 13, 2012

It’s comforting to know that even when a creature as fine as Miss Dita is reduced to attention-whoring in front of the worst backdrop we’ve ever seen…

Dita Von Teese attends the Cointreau Launch at The Beverly Hills Hotel in California in a Jenny Packham gown.

Jenny Packham Spring 2012 Collection

… she can still turn that muthafucka out. You WERQ that “Goddess in a liquor store” magic, gurl! Snaps up!

Seriously, Cointreau? Did you pay some marketing genius to come up with this one? “I’ve GOT it! People LOVE seeing racks and racks of liquor bottles, don’t they?”

Never is she less than perfection in every detail. My God, does she even look like that when she’s sleeping?...HopOnToday.blogspot.com

        • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

nancy, you are a spamming cointreau.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

Love, love, love the dress, love Miss Von Teese in it! And as for Cointreau, that is one sorry @ss backdrop!

    • RebeccaKW

That dress is killa.  She is beautiful.  She (almost) makes you not notice that she’s seems to be in a liquor store.

    • wisenhar

Does she ever get it wrong?  I don’t think I’ve ever seen it.

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

My thoughts exactly.  Bravo to her.  I’m sure most of her nightgowns look like this dress.

    • Sobaika

STUNNING. I would kill to play in her wardrobe for even just one hour.

      • bitchybitchybitchy

May I join you? With a bottle of Cointreau and a pair of glasses?

    • formerlyAnon

      I LOVE that dress.

It’s my favorite day-time(?)/not-a-gala deployment of a train that I can remember.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Sighing heavily. This woman is without peer in the Turn Yourself Out Olympics. Never is she less than perfection in every detail. My God, does she even look like that when she’s sleeping????

      • minnye

She doesn’t seem like she would wake up with blotchy skin, bedhead and morning breath, does she?

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Can you say”Deal with the Devil”?
Or perhaps we are seeing a bit of Dorian Gray action going on here.

          • Krafty_L

I read somewhere that Dita actually has rosacea – which is not uncommon among the pale of skin.

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

We, clearly, will never EVER know the truth of that.

            • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I too have rosacea, but with the wonders of the medication Oracea (which is ruinously expensive unless you have the discount card from your dermatologist) it is completely under control.  Thank Goodness.

          • charlotte

It was a Groupon Hollywood exclusive deal with Diablo, Inc. Julia Louis- Dreyfus bought it, too.

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

              Damn, I missed out again!

      • mjude

        i bet she does :)

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

She’s really 674 years old, and the child of Rom parents who were enslaved by vampires.

          • Rand Ortega

There’s this movie from the early ’60’s starring Ursula Andress called, “She”, about this priestess of a lost city who, it turns out, is 2,000 years old. For some reason, whenever I see Dita’s incredibleness (not a word, I know), I think of that movie.

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

And Lordy, Lordy do I love that stinking hot mess of a movie. Gotta get it from Netflix, now.

            • bitchybitchybitchy

“She” is one of my personal Top Ten guiltless pleasures…a great big, hot, kitschy mess of a movie, but Ursula Andress was divine -and her human consort was pretty easy on the eyes, too!

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

               You are so right!!!
Personally, I would have loved to see a major bitch fight, when “She” realizes, he’s prettier than her.

            • bitchybitchybitchy

Ha!  That would have been fabulous!

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

And the fact that it was two supremely awful actors would have only made it sweeter.

    • SewingSiren

      Lovely dress. And beautiful girl.
I think the ad would be more subtle if she were taking a big swig right out of the bottle.

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Oh Hah hah hah! Just picture Dita this way and TRY to erase it from your mind afterwards. You just know there would be the most deliciously sly wink included with it.

      • formerlyAnon

Though she always looks like a scotch-on-the-rocks kinda gal.

        • CozyCat

I don’t know.  Cointreau has that french thing going on…

    • call_me_schmeg

i am pale and a light a candle at the alter of the pale goddess dita. WERQ that booze!

      • Amy Ellinger

        yes!!  Snow Whites Unite!

        • TieDye64

          Amen, my White Sisters!

      • http://twitter.com/miss186 Allie

Ohhh yes! I am currently recovering from a sunburn I got from sitting in the sun for less than an hour, and Dita makes me feel so normal and pretty despite my ridiculously sensitive and frequently painful skin. I’m also currently full of booze. She is my spirit animal. <3

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

That dress is rather demure for Ms. Dita and quite beautiful.

    • TSkot

The dress is way too delicate for her.  Much prefer it on the model.

      • CozyCat

Actually I had the opposite reaction.  I think it looks better on a woman with real curves.

    • MsALVA

That would make the most awesome wedding dress ever. So so beautiful!

    • mjude

she is just beautiful & i love the dress.  the background is awful

    • newleaf1

Can I say that I love that this dress has sleeves? Refreshingly different from other gowns.  And Dita looks amazing in it.

    • Celandine1

Omg it’s a gorgeous AND season appropriate gown. LUVUH!

    • Sara__B

You MUST see the photo of her holding a glass of Cointreau in front of a pool? It’s stunning! (One place to see the photo is Red Carpet Fashion Awards.)

      • Pennymac

        Looked it up. Awesome!

    • marilyn

That is a spectacular dress and she is gorgeous, no matter what she stands in front of. This is how you do a nude dress with embellishments on it. It looks somewhat like her skintone, but has a blue tint on the skirt. The dress is lined enough be classy. A great design worn by a beautiful woman.

    • http://twitter.com/JanelMessenger Janel Messenger

I love, love, love the dress. And pretty much everything Dita wears. I just can’t get over the fact that the proportions on the sleeves are wonky – too long for her and perfect on the model.

    • MilaXX

Dita is her usual self here, but the dress doesn’t really wow me. It’s pretty but it’s just not taking my breath away,

    • Coralie Legister

I just wish the sleeves were a couple of inches shorter like on the model, but that’s just me being picky & she really looks incredible.

    • jilly_d

that gown makes her look shockingly tall for someone who is rather pint-sized.  she looks beautiful!

    • kimmeister

Except for in the side view, that dress is making her look less curvaceous than usual.

    • MK03

      Outclassing the joint.

    • Lilithcat

I don’t know. She’s gorgeous.   I love the dress.   But, somehow, it does say, “Dita von Teese”.

    • colleenjanel

What I love about DVT is that she knows how to adjust her WERQ based on what she’s wearing. Sexy black dominatrix dress? She will bang her curves in every freaking direction. Demure floral Jenny Packham? She pulls it back for a more sweet sexy look. She doesn’t over sex this look. Brava! I think she may deserve a Lifetime Achievement WERQ Award. She always gets it right!

      • TieDye64

You nailed it, I couldn’t have said it better.

    • OneTwoThreeFashion

      WOW.. just WOW

    • Kate4queen

I love that dress. And I want it!

    • granddelusion

    • Rand Ortega

That sound is me hitting the ground.

    • MissAnnieRN

Meh. Maybe it’s because I’m on my phone, but this looks like knock off Meissen china in a dress form to me. Which is odd since I love meissen china enough that I collect it. But this looks like old bras or something

      • PaulaBerman

I bet Dita looks good in old bras too!

    • guest2visits

Such. A beautiful gown.  My thoughts exactly; she’s beautiful inspite of the cheapy display.

    • frite

She looks better in it than the model does. YES.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

Don’t we all want to be Ms. Dita?

      • TieDye64

        Yep, I do!

    • aristida_girl

She is so lovely, it is inspiring…

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_RHLSUVX3NCPB4OSS5BM7GZIXUE P. Capet

      the goddess at work

    • quiltrx

As always, I worship the perfection that is Miss Dita.  Oh, to be her.

And, weirdness…I’m in the middle of the Quilt Design Star competition, and the fabric we have to use in this challenge has almost exactly those colors in it.

Perhaps I should modify my design to include a liquor-bottle border…

    • TieDye64

Yeah, she’s all “fuck you and your shitty backdrop, I’m killing it!” And she’s right. This chick never misses and I still want to be her when I grow up.

    • DCSheehan

That is a master class right there. A very deserved werq.

    • mhleta

Hey, it beats Ann Hathaway’s Letterman dumpster by miles. And who cares, she does look beyond killah in that dress.

    • http://typicalgirlink.wordpress.com/ Dorothy Damage

Love the dress and hair, hate the background as well! This reminds me that I want to try her cocktail, Cointreau Teese, though the idea of violet syrup makes me gag a little.

    • GTrain

      She is amazing.

    • kingderella

      werq indeed!

    • annrr

Her face is giving away how lame this photo op is. She brought it but they didn’t. Girl is an island, good for her, love that dress.

    • patticake1601

The dress remind me of English teacup pattern. It’s so pretty.

    • Call me Bee

That is a stunning dress, and she is wearing it very well.

    • http://twitter.com/Kathy_Marlow Kathy Marlow

Jenny Packham is really a designer to watch, isn’t she?  Her dresses are, usually, just so beautiful, not overdone. Breath of fresh air!

    • alyce1213

It’s an interesting dress, but I can’t say I love it.  Something about it is pretty and something about it looks like a bag of cheap, cellophane-wrapped candy drops.

    • imspinningaround

Exquisite.  My only quibble is that I wish the sleeves were just a smidge shorter and snugger as on the model.  They look slightly out of proportion on Dita.

      • EEKstl

Yes, exactly – my only quibble as well but she looks stunning.

    • NBG

No offense to the model but this dress did not know what it could be until Dita. Wow. Even the sleeve length makes more sense in Dita’s version.
