TCA Summer Press Tour Red Carpet

Posted on July 30, 2012

Darlings, it was the TCA Summer Press Tour, where actors have to poledance for their TV shows like their lives depended on it! Fun!

Bellamy Young

It’s fine. Great color and shape on her. We wouldn’t recommend a lot of jewelry to punctuate the look, but a sassier pair of shoes would’ve gone a long way.

Christa B. Allen in Jean Paul Gaultier

That bodice looks weird on her; too tight and the bust looks really high. The skirt’s too business-like and mature; both for her and for the rest of the outfit. The shoes are distracting as hell.

Connie Britton in Marchesa

We could have done without the fringe around the hem and we would have recommended the ol’ Pop o’ Color in the clutch, but otherwise, she looks pretty great. The gal can rock a white, that’s for sure.

Daisy Betts

She looks pretty great. Love the shoes, especially. We’re not sure about that top paired with that skirt, though. A little contrast would have been nice.

Dana Delany

What a weird dress. Tight in the boobs but loose everywhere else, including the sleeves. This might have worked if it weren’t for all that stuff hot-glued to the front of it. Love the shoes.

Darby Stanchfield

Why, Helen Bishop. We barely recognized you.

She looks really cute.

Dreama Walker

Cute. A little contrast in the shoe would’ve been welcome. A shame about the hem.

Emma Dummont

Cute dress; HORRIBLE choice of footwear.

Hayden Panettiere

Nicely done. We wouldn’t go so far as to call this “polished,” but it shows a marked improvement in her public dressing.

Jeri Ryan

7 of 9′s still got it, apparently.

We’re sounding like a broken record here, but those shoes are all wrong. Black sandals, dear.

Krysten Ritter in Farrah Kahn

COMPETING GOLDS!

We HATE competing golds, darling. In fact, we think she’s coming awfully close to looking silly here.

Pamela Anderson

Look, her primary and secondary sexual characteristics are covered and her eyes are pointing in the same direction. That’s a win, as far as we’re concerned.

Rachael Taylor in Cushnie et Ochs

 Very sharp. Almost literally.

Sara Rue

Girl, unless you’re carrying around TPS reports in a file folder, there’s no reason to be sporting such a focus-pulling bag on the RC. Cute look otherwise, though.

Vanessa Williams

She looks comfortable and chic for the most part, but those shoes are too heavy for the look.

The Pam Anderson caption goes in the T Lo Pantheon of Quotes.

Truly. And personally, I love the juxtaposition of Disney’s logo next to her. A less Disney personifying human female there could not possibly be. (Though you should feel free to prove me wrong).

I’ll give it a try with Ice T’s cup of COCO.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Definitely way up there in the ranking!

        • Sobaika

I have no idea why, but I’m fascinated by Coco. I just love the idea of her at an SVU wrap party mingling with Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni.

          • Scoobydrew

I was up late one night and watched Ice and Coco’s reality show and they were just so … CUTE.  They had quote a bit of footage of behind the scenes SVU.  i couldn’t believe how ADORABLE they were together.

          • mjude

i didnt give coco a chance in the past but after watching their show, love them

          • Scoobydrew

Right? The are so sweet together.

          • RebeccaKW

LOVE that show, and how they are together.

          • Call me Bee

I’ve only seen her one time–on Fashion Police.  I didn’t want to like her, but she seems so nice…and…likeable!  Good for her!

          • SassieCassy

omg can you imagine the conversations between her and belzer

          • snarkykitten

what I would do to be a fly on that wall!

      • Anathema_Device

My daughter used to watch a fair amount of Disney TV series. I think some serious whoring out happens over there…in a weirdly wholesome package.

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Oh no doubt!  However Ms Anderson, with her enhanced secondaries and other plasticine delights is hardly the look they are trying to project.

          • LesYeuxHiboux

What a turn of phrase! “Enhanced Secondaries and Other Plasticine Delights”. I may have to make a print and use that as the title.

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

             I’d be honored.

          • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

It would also make a great name for an alt rock band.

      • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

        I thought the same thing!

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Are we sharing consciousness again? Damn.

    • TheOriginalLulu

So awesome. The woman looks like something the cat dragged in, but we’re all just relieved that nobody has to cover their childrens’ eyes when she walks in the room.

      • Anathema_Device

I always cover my eyes when it comes to a Pam Anderson pic, then I peek through my fingers. Like watching a horror movie through the holes in an afghan on the couch.

        • http://www.GiftedCollector.com Nancy Abrams

The only disappointing competitors on Dancing with the Stars All Stars — Pam Anderson and Bristol Palin.

  • Sobaika

The competing golds do make the eye twitch, but I COVET her dress. I’m surprised it’s working as well as it is with her coloring.

    • out for a walk

I actually like the two golds in the dress, but the shoes and clutch should definitely be swapped out.

      • Sobaika

Yeah, I was referring to the shoes that are clashing. The dress itself if killer.

  • MaryMitch

    Sarah Rue is looking amazing!

  • elemspbee

charlotte looks thick all around. terrible materials. i like the shoes, but the whole outfit looks awful.
    7 o’ 9s–hot!

  • kimmeister

Darby’s sandals must be Jimmy Choos, right?  (Based on the 37 rows of straps.)

Hayden’s sandals are awful.  The dress is cute, but the fullness starts too low on the bottom half.

Sara looks cute, but the design of the jacket is creating a giant navy blue arrow pointing to her hooha.

  • MilaXX

Dana Delany looks like she’s wearing a too small bra on the very last hook. My boobs ache in sympathy.
Hayden looks like she’s hired some new gays since she got a new show.
Pam gets credit for not dressing like a porn star, but needs to lay off the eye liner.

  • Spicytomato1

Quite a few cute looks on people I am largely unfamiliar with (Helen Bishop, however, yay!). Refreshingly pleasant red carpet, made even more so with your entertaining commentary.

  • Pants_are_a_must

If I were Kristen Ritter, I would’ve put my stylist on notice for that outfit. Especially since last week Zooey Deschanel also appeared in a golden dress on a network event.

  • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

I think there’s a country song with the lyrics of “Rode hard and put down wet.”  Pamela Anderson could be the poster child for that song.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/QK3MTAHUVJCMI7DANY6WFCAIUM n a

LMAO!!  Is this too many characters for a tweet (I can’t count that high) “Look, her primary and secondary sexual characteristics are covered and her eyes are pointing in the same direction. That’s a win, as far as we’re concerned.”  HILARIOUS! thank you!

  • FashionShowAtLunch

“her eyes are pointing in the same direction.”
    LOLZZZ

I’m wondering if some of these ladies were styling themselves for this event – doubtful, but I’m surprised that stylists would send their clients to these events with the details and the styling just… lacking. So many of these ensembles are alllmost there but not quite.

  • butterflysunita

A lot of mediocre outfits.  None are great, but none are really ugly enough to be interesting.

  • Ceur

I’m waiting for Bellamy Young’s ankle to twist.

  • sagecreek

You all know how I despise Marchesa, but Connie Britton ruled the group — she looked great.

    • PinkLemon

best marchesa in a LONG time

  • Catiline

A wild 7 of 9 appears!  That and the accompanying acknowledgment just made my day.

  • MoHub

Do any of these women own a comb?

  • Vlasta Bubinka

    A haiku for Dana’s dress:

    Smashed breasts in plunge
    Teen age pageant girls’ sequins
    The silk weeps in pain.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

       LOVING this!!!!!!

      • Vlasta Bubinka

Then you’ll like this one for Emma’s shoes:

        Flirty chiffon dress
        Starlet longs for edgy look
        Black rain boots comply

        • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Its oddly haunting. really.  Quite lovely.

          • Vlasta Bubinka

Perhaps one for Connie, to close out the day’s poetry slam:

            Silly tittie fringe
Awash in post spin class hair
            Twirl boo boo be do

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

You really do have a flair for this, Vlasta B.

          • Vlasta Bubinka

blushgigglehairflip… one more then… for Bellamy:

            Boredom! Boredom sets
Blue dress, black shoes, and flat hair
            So much ennui now

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I’m seeing a slim, exquisite volume of haiku all derived from fashion.

          • Vlasta Bubinka

I’m sending the love your way… perhaps there is a kilt haiku in me somewhere…

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

             Sweet!  How nice of you!
            Digital hugs right back.

    • butterflysunita

Love!  Dana’s dress does inspire poetry, doesn’t it?

      Breasts plead for mercy
      Green chandelier glued on chest
      Cute shoes cannot save.

      • Vlasta Bubinka

it does… odd given that is an offense to the eyes and soul.

        • Vlasta Bubinka

and I like your haiku a lot butterflysunita.

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

I’m starting to think that a haiku from Vlasta might be required for each TLo post. Well, maybe just the red carpet ones. Good job!

  • https://twitter.com/Gayer_Than_Thou Gayer Than Thou

I’m 100% Team Vanessa Williams, but her outfit is verging into smock territory.

  • http://twitter.com/MajorBedhead MajorBedhead

Pamela Anderson’s knees give me the creeps. For so many reasons.

    • sagecreek

      too easy :)

  • EEKstl

I don’t know who Rachel Taylor is but she looks fabulous, best of the bunch.

  • Eva_baby

Too bad there was no close-up of Pam Anderson’s shoes.  They a Keith Harrington print.  Very cute and I need them now!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

We do have to grade on a curve, don’t we? Because I agree that while we should be grateful that Pam A’s bits are covered, she’s wearing a summer nightie and her hair looks like she’s been working the corner all night. It’s still bad. Poor girl.

  • Call me Bee

I’m always up for an RC at a made-up event!  Made so much better by your thoughtful insights, gentlemen.  Rachel Taylor and “Helen Bishop” FTW!

  • PinkLemon

talk about proportion issues??? all of em!

  • http://twitter.com/Bergereink Bergereink

Dana D.’s dress looks like it was made by Vincent Libretti.

  • SewingSiren

Crist. Pamela Anderson looks like a Barbie out of the trash can.

  • SewingSiren

Of the humans . I like the white fringe , the black one shoulder, and the clashing golds (sorry , but I do).
And um hum, Miss Williams, when a man tells you that your outfit looks “comfortable” it usually isn’t a complement.

  • Violina23

Hayden Panettiere looks mature and polished, I must say. I agree, nicely done!

    • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

And she looks her age — 20-something rather than 40-something.

  • http://twitter.com/PhDKnitter marlie

Why is it that the shoes are the culprit in every single “almost there” look? Is there some sort of footwear conspiracy going on in Hollywood?

  • Sassyscot

Sara Rue – more like sonogram pics.

  • RzYoung

Please tell me Dreama Walker is not a real name?!

  • DebbieLovesShoes

I’m sorry — it’s, like, a week later, and I’m still busting out laughing at:  ”PAMELA ANDERSON: Look, her primary and secondary sexual characteristics are covered and her eyes are pointing in the same direction. That’s a win, as far as we’re concerned.”
