Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis at Comic-Con

Posted on July 13, 2012

Darlings, it was Michelle Williams’ and Mila Kunis’ turn to poledance for the nerd crowd at Comic-Con, as they attended the Walt Disney Studios panel on “Frankenweenie,” “Wreck It Ralph” and “Oz.” Like all starlets, they simply don’t understand how one is supposed to dress for Comic-Con.

Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams is wearing a Giulietta dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes.

Very cute. We would have suggested adding something with stars on it. Or flames. Or maybe stars and flames. Plus, elbow-length satin gloves with cuffs. Those shoes are horrifying, so we would recommend spiked metal shin guards with leather straps over a pair of black patent leather knee-high lace-up boots in their stead. Hair and makeup look very pretty and polished, but we think a cyborg eyepiece with a laser was definitely called for here.

Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis is wearing a Rag and Bone tee and jeans, a Theyskens’ Theory jacket, Dolce&Gabbana shoes, and a Dana Rebecca necklace.

Mila looks quite chic, but we think we speak for everyone when we say she was born to dress like a cartoon version of a Japanese schoolgirl. A pink wig with ponytails down to the floor was obviously called for here, along with thigh-high white stockings paired with red platform Mary Janes with six-inch heels, a frilly bouse with short puffy sleeves, a schoolgirl pinafore that stops one micron below her crotch, and lots of long, trailing bows tied to every conceivable part of her. She, too, is sporting very polished makeup, but we question why her people didn’t apply more glitter to her face, with perhaps a star or moon painted on her cheek. Honestly, starlets. Must we tell you how to do everything?

There is not nearly enough exposed, pasty-white untoned flesh exposed here for this to be a con-outfit.  Where are the unnecessary shelf boobs caused by corsets 3 sizes too small?  You disappoint me, tastefully dressed starlets.

      • AthenaJ

I only go to Renaissance Faires, so I had no idea the ‘torpedo boobs shoved up by a too small corset’ look was also available at Comic Cons. It’s a small world after all :)

        • twocee

It’s the Venn Diagram of Lusty Wench meets Space Whore.

          • AthenaJ

I admire anyone who can use ‘Venn Diagram’ and ‘Space Whore’ in the same sentence :)

Michelle MIGHT look cute, but the warring prints of her dress and the background are giving me a migrane, so I can’t really tell...HopOnToday.blogspot.com

Never go to Dragon Con at night. Unless you are drunk and there to party. Dragon Con knows how to party, but dressing…not so much!

          • AthenaJ

I’ve definitely seen some interesting things at Ren Faires… last year there was a girl with babyheads protruding from her corset, and she was able to carry a rubber duckie in between them. Then of course there was one a few years ago that had an adult themed kissing contest. Which of course (to the delight of all the guys) turned into a bisexual make out scene. Lets just say that quite a few kilts were raised during that exhibition…

            • twocee

               Bwhahahaha.

You’re making me think I need to start going to Ren Faires.

            • snarkykitten

jesus, what ren faires are YOU going to?

and can I get an invite?

        • charlotte

Here in Germany you’d also see them at the Leipzig book fair, which simultaneously happens to be a cosplayer (aka white flesh in odd places topped with bunny ears) convention.

        • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

           I call them “Soupy Boobs”.

    • http://www.facebook.com/catherine.kronenwetter Catherine L Kronenwetter

Ditto on the Japanese schoolgirl, would have been perfect!  But this is pretty hot too.  Michelle is giving me a headache, but it’s “fine”

    • siriuslover

Mila Kunis would totally have rocked the Japanese anime teen look! At least Michelle Williams’ stance was correct in that first shot!

    • charlotte

Michelle Williams is obviously headed for some intergalactic surgery department. Get well soon, cyborg!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Mila looks cute. Michelle MIGHT look cute, but the warring prints of her dress and the background are giving me a migrane, so I can’t really tell.

      • call_me_schmeg

yes! i need a dramamine to go with this gin and tonic….

      • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I can’t even judge the dress with all the shit going on in the photo.  It’s either a really nice pillow case, or a decent dress with ugly shoes.

    • gabbilevy

If someone isn’t taking your suggestions and photoshopping the shit out of these pictures, they’re depriving the world of a beautiful, beautiful thing.

    • MilaXX

Loving the nerd commentary today. I think Michelle should have worn flats. Mila looks fine.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I love love love the idea of Mila in Lolita drag. She would ROCK it. Michelle would be better off dressed like June Robinson from Lost in Space.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I just love you TLo. The ComicCon posts are simply brilliant.

      • meowing

Agree.  This is the closest I’ll ever get to ComicCon, even tho’ I’m in San Diego county…no way I’d head downtown amid the chaos!

    • AthenaJ

I am LOVING your Comic-Con outfit advice, guys. Keep it up!!

    • mjude

comic con has really turned into something huge. i would love to attend & get my geek on.  as for michelle & mila, i really like both their looks

    • formerlyAnon

It’s impressive, the wide array of topics upon which you fellas can chat amusingly, without ever leaving the bailiwick of fashion & pop culture.

    • megohd

I love both their looks … wow. Envy.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

I love, love, love Michelle’s dress, but it’s not the best choice for that background.

    • shanna bowie

I think being in a costume is overrated. I went last year and just did a simple GoT tee and jeans. If I didn’t have to walk so much I might have done heeled sandals. I think I wore ballet flats instead. I will say Mila could have gone with like a batman tee instead but I think Michelle had kind of an abstract, science-y pattern.

    • elemspbee

I totally vote for Mila Kunis’s Dark Knightess look kicking Pixie Angelic Michelle Williams look. Since we’re imagining superheroes, Mila Kunis in this get up or the Japanime look suggested by T’Lo kix MW any day.

    • tereliz

Neither one of them is dressed as Leia from Jedi! WTF? How else are the comic book geeks supposed to get their semi-annual semi?

      • sweetestsith

No worries! There will be at least two dozen con goers dressed as Leia – and some of them will be extremely attractive. The geeks will be ok. ;)

    • mhleta

That is one verrry specific and fairly hetero fantasy you have going on! Check your temp. You may have caught a touch of the straight man’s flu.

    • http://www.facebook.com/izzzyy Dixie Murphy Ross

Am I wrong I find it shitty that the ireport article only features skinny bitches in tight costumes? There’s so much more to comic con. Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying they don’t look hot or have awesome costumes, it would just be nice to see a variety of people (men and women, big and small, short and tall) featured.

    • Pants_are_a_must

Williams is dressed like a rich granny in her nightgown.

Kunis is in full-on New York chic. Which is awesome, but severely lacking in cosplay elements.

    • MzzPants

To be fair, Michelle’s print does appear to be some kind of stylized X-wing fighter.  Still, she could’ve at least put on a large, tentacled head piece.  Sheesh.

    • Judy_S

Mila would do as Modesty Blaise if she had her hair up. Michelle…. Little Lulu?

    • GillianHolroyd

Man, I love Michelle Williams’ dress. Granted not for this event but it’s a fantastic frock. Hair looks great too.

    • SewingSiren

I like all the alternate accessories you  have planned . I’m guessing that’s all Tom.

    • another_laura

T Lo, you guys are in fine form today – thank you!

    • crash1212

Maybe it’s not appropriate for the venue, but Michelle Williams looks adorable from the top of her little elfin head to the tips of those to-die-for shoes.

      • kimmeister

I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes Michelle’s shoes!

    • olsonam

Those women in the link are awesome looking.  Definitely not home-sewn and some outfits look like they cost hundreds of dollars. I know you’re doing a great spoof in this post and the previous, but you could do a full on parody of your fashion blogging with those outfits.  Here’s the link again: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-814752?hpt=hp_c2

    • alyce1213

      Hospital gown at luxury detox.

      Mila looks adorable.

    • Imasewsure

You two are the Rachel Zoes of ComicCon (ok one Rachel, and one Brad – you fight it out)…

    • nannypoo

Apparently Michelle Williams and Matilda got all crafty at the kitchen table with a potato and some tempera paint.

    • marilyn

Unless they are in overly airconditioned rooms, those outfits would be way too warm to wear in San Diego in July.  Are they dripping sweat?

    • shehungthemoon

Michelle Williams’ dress looks like a hospital gown. I think I have one hanging around in that exact print.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1129137319 Paula Pertile

Yeah. A little tame. Funny, they actually STAND OUT, dressed like this. That’s not easy to do there!
I hope they don’t pick up too many nerd or weirdo cooties.

    • FashionShowAtLunch

It’s really hard for me to get a good sense of what Michelle’s outfit actually looks like on her, because it’s blending/clashing with the backdrop in the worst way. I think I might like it? Also, she’s smiling, so yay. Girlfriend deserves some Jason Segel-inspired happiness.

    • http://needtherapy.tumblr.com/ skadi1

You don’t HAVE to cosplay, although I kind of wish a celebrity would, just for the hilarity factor.
If Mila had been wearing a Dr. Who or comic book shirt tee shirt of some kind and some thick-rimmed glasses, she would have looked perfect. Michelle’s outfit is a bit baggy for Comic Con. She looks like someone’s mom.

    • OneTwoThreeFashion

      awful..

    • kikisayshi

Venue aside, I feel like Michelle’s dress needs a belt or something. It looks like a sack but it’s a cool print.

    • Rand Ortega

      Mila Kunis as Cutie Honey!
(I’m sure someone has already wrote that)

    • guest2visits

I think Michelle is dressed nicely for some other event. Coffee at the museum patrons luncheon, tea with the book club.
It’s cute, but so shapeless.  Mila also looks cute, but a little boring.

    • Anne Lucchesi

      or maybe stars and flames

These posts are making my week.

    • librarygrrl64

Michelle Williams looks like someone’s mom here. Yeah, I know, she IS someone’s mom, but you know what I mean.

    • quiltrx

For once, I actually pretty much like what Michelle has on…and it’s all wrong for the venue!  But I bet repeated steps by costume boots totally ruined those shoes.

And Mila does look good…but she’s awfully covered-up and normal, isn’t she?  I bet the fanboys were SO disappointed.

    • Vainte

Is it really so difficult? Let the writers of The Big Bang Theory pick their outfits. Even more subject matter to discuss here and the fans are happy as well.

    • Dhammadina

Your Comicon suggestions are hilarious AND right on. I hope you have as much fun thinking them up as I do reading them.

    • poketom

Why didn’t anybody wear Prada? It’s like the first thing that comes to mind when I think comic con appropriate wear.

    • Jessi03

      Mila’s hair….so shiny.

    • http://frankbettecenter.org/ sleah_in_norcal

michelle is looking not-twee.  how refreshing.  mila looks slinky and lucious, but shows no imagination.
