Jason Wu Resort 2013 Accessories

Posted on June 25, 2012

Well, we showed you his very cute insect-inspired collection already, so let’s go from ladybug to lady bags, ladies. Also: shoes, because who doesn’t love to talk about bags and shoes? No one, darlings. No one civilized.

Daphne Shoulder Bag

Jourdan Backpack

Jourdan Chain Crossbody Bag

Karlie Box Clutch

Those clutches get to be a bit much, but overall, we love these pieces. The Jourdan backpack and the Daphne shoulder bag are our favorites.

Okay, we just stared at the clutches for a little while, trying to will ourselves to love them, but we don’t. Still, the rest of the bags are sharp as hell.

And shoes?

Marisa Platform Sandal

Peggy Open Weave Sandal

Veruschka Platform Sandal

Maybe not so much on the Veruschka, but both the Peggy and the Marissa are gorgeous.

Final tally, darlings?

Jason Wu Resort Accessories: YEA or NAY?

I love the bags, even though I see a face on the Daphne bags.  The shoes are pretty, but I get a foot ache just looking at them.

    • Lilithcat

I see a face on the Daphne bags.

      I’m pretty sure that’s Kilroy.

      • butterflysunita

You are right!  It is so a color blocked Kilroy.

        • love it when anyone shows a heel that normal humans can wear...DemoforFrank.blogspot.com

  • Larkin21

Yea to the bags. Nay to the shoes.

  • The color blocked bags are all terrific looking. The clutches, aside from looking like they belong to a different collection, for a different designer, are really rather twee looking. The shoes? meh.  The Peggy is the only one I think is interesting.

  • Love the bags, especially both Daphnes. Love the Peggy shoe, and love it when anyone shows a heel that normal humans can wear.

    • Lilithcat

love it when anyone shows a heel that normal humans can wear.

You and me both, sister!  6″ stilettos with 2″ toe platforms cannot disappear too soon for me.  I walk in my shoes.

  • introspective

loving the bags. but the shoes seem like theyre only for an attention-desperate starlet or the working girls on the pier. whats more, the bags and shoes seem like theyre from different collections.

  • I only liked 2 of the bags and none of the shoes. Nay.

Marisa Berenson, Peggy Moffit and Verushka would not be pleased.

    •  Moffit or guggenheim? 🙂

      • Snailstsichr

Oh, Ms. Guggenheim is(was) definitely the Daphne bags!

      • boweryboy

I would say Moffit.  Since Marisa and especially Veruschka were model’s name.

      • boweryboy

I would say Moffit.  Since Marisa and especially Veruschka were model’s name.

  • BrightsideSusan

I want the Peggy shoes for my own.  Agree on the clutches- tacky, but I would happily take any one of the other bags.

  • Judy_J

Big YEA!  Love the colors of the bags.  I’d purchase the Peggy shoes in a heartbeat.

  • afabulous50

    Hello…this is Peggy!

    • random_poster

      Pe-ggy! Pe-ggy!

  • Daphne and Joudans in every color combo please and a pair of Peggy’s, size 9.5. The rest if cute too but those are my faves.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Yea.  With the exceptions you noted – those clutches are incredibly overworked, and we’ll probably see them on every red carpet for a while.  The rest of the bags are GORGEOUS.  As for the shoes, I flove the Peggy sandal, but don’t care for platform sandals in the least.  Anyway, overall a yes from me.

  • Synnamin

Yea. eye-catching and not OTT. I love the Peggy shoes

  • Definitely agree about the clutches. The Jourdan crossbody is probably my favorite, but I tend to be a simple girl.

    The shoes, meh.

  • crash1212

I love a structured bag and so covet all but the clutches…the clutches look like a DIY project gone awry. As for shoes, I would cut a bitch for the Peggy…LOVE!

  • Jessica O’Connell

It’s Jason Wu, could this ever be a nay? Definite YEA from me. LOVE those bags, though I agree, the clutches are a bit much. Too much hot-glued-on-shit there.

  • spooki C

That hot pink clutch is giving me Tarina Tarantino vibes

  • mjude

  • MilaXX

YEA! I like everything except that last shoe. LOVE all the bags.

  • vanjar

I’ll have the Daphne shoulder bag, the black&yellow Jourdan backpack and the Peggy sandal. I love the clean lines.

  • kimmeister

Overall, YEA.  I particularly love the coral/black/white Jourdan backpack (I am wearing that exact color combo today) but am having a hard time seeing how it’s a backpack.

  • CQAussie

Yea on ALL of the bags, gorgeous!  Loved the Peggy for the shoes.

  • Lina_bee

I love the shape of the bags, though I’m not quite sold on the color schemes. They’d be so clashy with clothes in real life use.

  • I would wrestle someone to the ground for that coral/black/white purse.

  • Yea!!!!

  • Kate4queen

I like the bags, especially the second one down. you are bad for my wallet. 🙂

  • altalinda

    The Peggy, please.

  • Pennymac

Daphne Crossbody and the Peggy please. WANT!

  • Yay. I agree with your assessments. Still, I am loving me some Jason Wu.

  • Beardslee

yea.  For one thing, his name isn’t plastered all over them and those bags are lovely.  And the Peggy heel is almost a Birkenstock, it is so low – three inches or so, merely!  So pretty and more graceful to move in.

  • aimee_parrott

YEA to most of it.  I love that backpack!

  • The bags are gorgeous. Not a huge fan of the clutches, though.

  • I love the Daphne and Jourdan bags.

  • TieDye64

I adore the bags! Well, not the jewel encrusted ones, but the others first four are gorgeous. The Peggy shoes are lovely too.

    Big ol’ YEA from me.

  • boweryboy

I like that the shoes are named after famous fashion models.

  • Am I the only one who thought Veruca Salt when she saw the name of the last shoe?

  • formerlyAnon

    Overall Yea.
    LOVE the Peggy shoe.

The shapes of the bags are good, but too much color for me and the color contrast in the catches & flaps give an impression of busy-ness I don’t love. The clutches are hideous . . . until I start seeing them as the glamorization of 3rd grade art projects and they begin to grow on me. And I find myself liking them. A lot. Amish plain or glorious excess are most likely to please me, the stuff in between, not so much.

  • The Peggy shoes are FIERCE.

  • MzzPants

Yea.  I’d buy something from this.

  • mila_8

I’ll take one each of the Jourdan backpacks.

  • Love how the bags are named after models.

  • Louise Bryan

Very interesting as artwork, esp. the clutch and the shoes.  Some of the bags might actually work in real life.

  • I love it all.

  • Bozhi

  • RzYoung

    Oooo I love the Peggy!

  • M Carlson

Beautiful – all of them. I like that there’s nary a stripper-platform to be seen!

  • guest2visits

I’m sorry – the Veruschka is the best!

  • anotherEloise

A big YEA for the Daphnes and for the Peggy, which I persist in believing is named for Peggy Olson, in recognition of her rising career.

  • librarygrrl64

YEA to the structure of the bags, NAY to the neon colors. I lived through the 80s once; not looking forward to doing it again.

  • Enjoying the color blocking on the bags. I love that trend and hope it continues (so I can get as much mileage out of my newest Coach bag as I can!). I can’t with the clutch bags, though. Prada couldn’t sell me a clutch with jewels stuck all over it, and neither can Jason Wu. I’m not feeling any of the shoes and their “go on then, and break an ankle” heels.
