Elizabeth Banks in House of Holland

Posted on June 26, 2012

How freaking adorable is this look?

Elizabeth Banks makes an appearance on “Good Morning America” in a House of Holland dress paired with Brian Atwood Pumps.

House of Holland Fall 2012 Collection

Brian Atwood ‘Hamper’ Pump

Charlie Brown’s mom is a MILF, you guys. Who knew?

And sure; maybe the shoes are just a little too on-point (Okay, WAY on-point) and matchy, but we honestly don’t mind it here. A neutral might have been boring. Besides, the dress is so fun that it’s practically begging for a fun pair of shoes. Well done, Miss Lady.

  • I LOVE this!!

    • like the CEO of a jellybean factory, by which I mean AWESOME...DemoforFrank.blogspot.com

  • TieDye64

Cute as hell, even if she is Charlie Brown’s mom.

    • This type of dress begs for a Charlie Brown reference.  But it’s so darn fun, maybe that’s part of the charm!!

  • Sobaika

    Crayola chic!

  • She looks like the CEO of a jellybean factory, by which I mean AWESOME.

  • Wendi126

I just keep seeing the top of Bart Simpson’s head

  • Judy_J

Very cute!  Kind of reminds me of a hot air balloon, but in a good way.

  • Jessica Rowe

no werq? I think it’s werq worthy.  She’s well cute in this. I kind of want her to do a tap dance.

    • carolynmo

      I completely agree!

  • Spicytomato1

Freaking adorable indeed. I love the cut of the dress and the colors are fun. Her hair and makeup are perfect, fresh and pretty.

I can’t, however, get behind the matchy shoes. They’re cute on their own but way too color coordinated with the frock. Not sure what would work here. I guess that’s why I’m not a stylist.

  • Lina_bee

This is the most adorable thing I’ve ever SEEN. <3

  • formerlyAnon

I hate the dress, but it’s wonderful on her and the shoes are PERFECT for it.

  • Sara__B

Aw. Now I have a big smile on my face. Such a happy dress! (I wish it had a bit more ease through the waist and I’m not a fan of the heavy matching shoes, but I like the overall look.)

  • SpcilK

    Pantone Parade! Cute and fun.

  • kimmeister

SO adorable.  The shoes aren’t 100% matchy, since they introduce teal into the outfit.  Still, I think I would have preferred this dress with, say, a gold sandal.  Would love the shoes with some other outfit.

  • Lilithcat

    Oh, really cute dress!

I’m back and forth on the shoes.  Of course, I loathe the style, but we’re really talking more about the color here, no?  I’m thinking maybe a shoe in a solid color that picks up one of the zig-zag band colors.  And maybe in a strappy sandal instead of a clod-hopper.

  • moppet

She has the tiniest waist. My goodness.

The shoes make this a leeeeetle bit too “theme,” but the dress is very pretty, I think. I love jewel tones. It also looks, dare I say it, summery. Because it’s summer! Who knew?

    • Introspective

Thats really the beauty of it. Too many starlets are sporting fall/winter 2013 couture and are just seeming way off for the weather. Lizzies outfit here is pitch perfect and seasonally appropriate.

If charlie brown’s mom lived in Nolita this is what Im sure shed wear. Nice.

  • j_anson

Is Elizabeth Banks the canonical example of a public figure who’s a super-sharp dresser without being a fashionista per se? I don’t feel like she’s ever really trend-setting, or that she’s a Tilda Swinton or Cate Blanchett, but she consistently shows up just lookin’ damn good.

  • Lizzy is BACK, bitches. Luv huh!

  • SummerSquash

Love it, and I would even say “WERQ” just because a celebrity has finally realized that it is Summer!

  • fungstyle

i think she’d be crazy fun to hang out with, and i think this outfit proves out my theory.

  • Cute cress, but that clingy fabric sure shows her rib cage, doesn’t it?

    • AudreysMom

and for some reason I look at it and fear pit stains and wrinkles. But it IS adorable and I LOVE the bright colors.

  • Isadora Paiva

This is such a cute and fun look. But (a bitter kitten has to show SOME bitterness after all) I must say I’m usually not as bothered by matchy matchy as you guys, still those shoes were too much for me.

  • LOVE! (and I am pretty sure I have never before said that about anything House of Holland).

  • She’s her Hunger Games character!

  • She’s a sexy pinata!

  • poggi

Plus it looks like summer!  Yay for seasonally appropriate clothing.

  • Love the whole look!!

  • anotherkate

I say, if you’re going to do a ridiculous platform, have the decency to color block it!  She looks great.

  • Matt Bailer

Yeah, how did this not get a WERQ!!!!  ?

  • charlotte

Love this! Colorful, but not Effie Trinket crazy.

  • Clueless_Jock

    Haute piñata.

  • golspie

    Sweet – but needs jewellery.

  • Excellent demonstration of how effective an accessory actual happiness is.  The dress looks downright silly on the dour-faced model, but Elizabeth looks charming top to bottom.

  • Glammie

Somehow she looks ready for both dinner and a playdate.  I love a dress with a sense of humor.

  • Andrew Walker

This could’ve been Chelsea Handler and I wouldn’t have known the difference.

  • I hate her hair. That’s like elementary school teacher hair (no offense to any of the teachers here). The dress is great on her & I agree with you on the shoes, but the hair is so… not working for me AT ALL.

  • GiraffeCat

I am jealous of her ability to wear zig zag across her entire torso and still look tiny and adorable. I have tried it. You would have thought I wned no mirrors.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

I was hoping you’d post this one! She looks fantastic.

  • melanie0866

Love love love.  I just wish it were a little shorter. It would even be cute if you just cut off the bottom design and had a plain skirt.

  • Love! The shoes are perfect, too.

  • Bozhi

Very cute and fun.  At last, someone who is dressed for summer.

Love the shoes with that dress.

  • Very cute.  So cute, I could barf.

  • Saucysusan

Very pretty. A strappy sandal would’ve been better..in one of the chevron colors & a nice cuff & earrings.

  • SouthernGirlRena

Okay, I am ridiculously proud of myself at the moment.  When I saw the dress, I thought “cute!  love the colors, a little Charlie Brown, don’t love the shoes (saw models shoes – eek! – okay I can live with her’s).  Overall, very cute and summery.   Then I read T-Lo’s comments.  I feel like I got an A in class 🙂

  • Julaine Morley

  • KaileeM

Adorable! And, finally, something on the red carpet appropriate for June!

  • LOVE! great for sitting down, too, i’m sure…

  • SapphoPoet

Very cute. Glad to see that her shoes seem to fit.

  • clairellis

So freakin cute!! I love this dress and the shoes and everything about it. Perfection for GMA!

  • julnyes

The shoes are working in my opinion. She looks fantastic.

  • MilaXX

The more interviews I see of hers, the more I like her. She looks cute here.

  • guest2visits

I can love this dress and shoes for approx. 2 and a half minutes.  Then it has to go on vacation to another room out of my sight please.
It can come out once a year, briefly – pick your holiday; Mardi Gras, Easter, Canada Day….  And she looks very pretty in it.
My husband has just looked over my shoulder; he says he likes it, it’s pretty and she looks like a pinata.

  • ChelseaNH

A smidge more color in the face would be nice, but the outfit is wicked cute.  Which came first — the shoes or the dress?

  • quiltrx

SUCH a cute dress.  Wish she’d washed/styled her hair into a more fun look.

  • ballerinawithagun

    Love it!

  • Judy Raddue

More importantly, Banks has the personality to pull this off.  The dress seems more alive on her than the model.

  • cleep1000

Charlie Brown’s mom! Har! Good one.

  • I am really appreciating her and Ms. Stone lately. Neither seems to be terribly worried about making a mistake. Both seem to be having fun. I’ll take that over a safe starlet in a Marchesa any day.

  • Lilak

Well that’s just plain FUN!   😀

  • SUPER cute, and she knows it. I can’t imagine being in a bad mood in that dress.

  • I LOVE THOSE SHOES!!!  i rest my case.

  • I think I like!

  • Jessica O’Connell

You guys are just FULL of one-liners recently! “Charlie Brown’s mom is a MILF, you guys. Who knew?” She looks fantastic. Love the dress. LOVE the shoes with the dress. Love the simplicity of the hair, makeup, and jewelery to keep the whole look from going from fun to busy. She has been ON POINT recently. Ku.Dos.

  • Pennymac

That’s a good mood dress if ever there was one. You’re either in one when you pull it out of the closet, or needing to get one, so you pull it out of said closet. Even the shoes make me happy!

  • Susan Crawford

Adorable, sassy dress! And those shoes are . . . MINE! Need. Want. Must Have.

  • RzYoung

FLOVE!! I want to put her in my pocket and get her to dance around on my desk when I’m bored

    • PeaceBang

I like this “FLOVE” thing. Is it new? Did you coin this? I want to make sure I give proper credit if I start using it…

  • Truly_Outrageous

I just looked over the whole House of Holland Fall 2012 collection and I just wanna say:

    House of Holland. WERQ!

  • Larkin21

    Super freakin’ adorable!

  • ChaquitaPhilly

I’m not a big fan of dresses but I LOVE this one!

  • Really, really cute.  But her hair is AWFUL.

  • laurenoodle

Super cute but I would have done strappy gold or silver sandals. She has a pretty smile.

  • Charlie Brown’s mom is a MILF. *snort* It is a very cute look. She’s quite the dresser, isn’t she?

  • BazoDee

Cute and fun and chic -hard combo to pull off. But yes -the shoes are too on point -almost to the point of being a distraction. Save the shoes for a lovely white summer dress. A metallic sandal would have made this perfect.

  • Not cute. She looks like an Easter egg.

  • I love it.

  • PeaceBang

Too matchy-matchy. The dress is adorable and she looks great but when I got to the shoes it was like, “Costume!”

  • Dot

Love it! Matchy-matchy and appropriately so.

  • EEKstl

LOVE!  At first glance I thought she would have done better to don shoes in ONE color in the dress, but this is working, big time.

  • I want to give a “call-out” to the seamstress!   I’m in awe of the ability to sew a seam across those zig-zags and still maintain the integrity of them…especially in and out of her curves (Although, upon a second look, I see that the integrity does get weird at the side bodice under her arms…but it is still amazing)

  • leftcoastpickle

Love the shoes, love the silhouette of the dress, but hate the dress itself. Charlie Browns mom indeed! Looks like a halloween costume to me.

  • I am LOVING her lately! Full stop fabulous. I may print it out and hang it on my fridge.

  • I just want to start a slow clap or elizabeth banks
