Kristen Stewart on Leno

Posted on May 07, 2012

Kristi Stew has a movie to promote, so that means makeup and awkward smiles for the public.

Kristen Stewart at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno wearing a Rebecca Minkoff blazer, Dolce & Gabbana James Dean t-shirt, J Brand leather pants, and Bloch London shoes.

Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket/J Brand Mid-Rise Stretch Leather Pants

Dolce&Gabbana Printed James Dean T-Shirt

Bloch London Women’s Hannah Flat

Shut our bitchy mouths, she looks awesome here. Seriously. What a chic little take on the rocker chick look. Absolutely perfect for her and every piece was expertly chosen. Whoever you’re paying and whatever you’re paying them, Kristi Stew, double it.

Yup! I love seeing those flat oxfordy shoes with pants more and more, though I’m not 100% on board with the skintight pants.

    • http://133t.us/gb ESTEFANA

@Vaniljekjeks:disqus my classmate’s sister-in-law brought in $16950 Ṗast month. she has been making cash on the internet and got a $3821OO home. All she did was get fortunate and put to use the instructions written on this web site..GETJOB2.notlong.com

  • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

But please, brush your hair, girly.

    • tallgirl1204

I like her hair.  Healthy, natural.  I know I”m in the minority here.

      • SassieCassy

I dont know about natural, I remember her admitting to extensions when she was on Conan

Even though it looks in desperate need of a combing her messy hair suits the look a lot

      • JMansm

I like her hair too. Not sure if it’s natural but I like the purposefully messy look she has. If it was brushed it would look boring.

    • cluecat

That would be disastrous.  Brushing natural wavy hair = frizz.

She needs curl defining product and a defuser, not a brush.

      • Erica Dorsett

Yep, as someone with curly/wavy hair, I recommend using a wide-toothed comb or pick after washing, curl enhancer and a frizz preventor, followed by either several hours for air dry (my preference) or a dryer with a diffuser attachment.  I actually think her hair isn’t bad, but it needs a couple of inches trimmed off the bottom.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1313126032 Ajuna Ariel Fenty

Brush yours ma before you offer brushing advice to anyone. No shade but shade. #clockstea

      • http://gabyrippling.tumblr.com/ Gabriella M

        I- what?

    • HomeOfficeGirl

If you have been watching her for any time, you will know that her hair actually looks fantastic (for her) compared to most appearances.

  • SusiePamudji

This kind of style is her comfort zone, and she looks best when she’s comfortable. Gorgeous!

    • janetjb

       Yes!

  • siriuslover

I LOVE those shoes. LOVE them. I hope she actually owns those pants.

  • mountainFashionista

I think this is the best she’s ever looked, and it seems from her expression that she thinks so too.

  • http://twitter.com/karenrubyleo Karen

yeah she looks great and she looks so much more comfortable in this gettup than she usually does. Love that jacket!

  • Judy_J

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but she does look great….best I’ve ever seen her look, really.  I love, love, love that jacket!

  • shirab

Can’t believe the t-shirt cost about $100 more than the shoes. Also can’t believe I checked. Ah well.

  • Isana Leshchinskaya

her hair looks tortured due to all the stuff she’s doing to it for movies, in other words “successful hair”. But her makeup is gorgeous, impeccably showing off her creamy skin and so fresh and young. and that blazer! head to toe suited to her image.

  • http://twitter.com/kittenofk Missy West Shore

I’m pretty sure this KStew would convert me to women right here.  I love the messy hair.

  • Wendy Armstrong

She looks great.  When she smiles, she sooo pretty!

    • Rebecca Jay

I bet it makes her mother happy to see her smile in pictures.  She’s a cute girl.

  • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I just wish that she could master her desire to sneer, whenever she is in public.  Honeylamb, you are making an EFF ton of money doing what you do, suck it up, be an actual actor, and smile like you mean it.

    • Jecca2244

110% agree. part of the fun of having all that money is all this…the dressing up, the promotions. She should have to give money away every time she sneers!

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I understand that the pressures of promotion are real and intense.  And that actors doing the pole dance, have to smile, and say nice things, to tons of people they would otherwise not prefer to be in company with.  I also get that this is a learning process for any actor thrust into this milieu. Just tough to watch as she works through developing a “professional face”.

        • Alisa Rivera

Would you say the same thing if she were a man? I think actresses get a lot more pressure to smile and be agreeable than actors do.

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I certainly would.  I don’t count any difference between the sexes with regard to their responsibilities to the public.  The glowering male thing is tiresome.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

I think it was Johnny Rotten who said something like, “if you don’t like all the attention you get as a pop star, then just stop being a pop star.”

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

         Right?!!!!

      • siriuslover

yes, yes, good ol’ John Lydon. Didn’t realize he said that, really. You’re missing a few curse words to make it sound authentic ;)

    • indigospade

I honestly think that’s just how her mouth was genetically built.

    • http://www.GiftedCollector.com Nancy Abrams

She was on with Jimmy Kimmel the other night and was completely natural, smiling and talkative.

  • SpcilK

    Super cute and stylish.

  • Alexis Keller

    I want everything she’s wearing

  • sagecreek

    I think she looks FAB.

And just imagine Lea Michele adopting that last pose on any talk show…oh wait, she can’t, because she wears the tight minis!

    • fursa_saida

YES. I love seeing a girl get actually COMFORTABLE in one of those big old chairs. Lord knows I can’t actually keep my legs where they’re technically supposed to go in a chair for longer than ten minutes.

  • letter_M

SO adorable, refreshing, age appropriate, and cool.

  • Vaniljekjeks

    She actually looks cute.

I am a book nerd, and I have been refusing to see the Twilight movies because I felt she was completely miscast and was way too weird looking to play the main character, but I ALMOST see it here.  Still not seeing those movies.  Burying head in the sand.  Same with True Blood.  I am too much of a book loyalist to handle that.

    • VicksieDo

Good idea…I didn’t even read the Twilight books and I don’t like the movies.

      • Vaniljekjeks

The fourth book I actually quite enjoyed.  It isn’t my favorite book by far, but it was entertaining.  It wasn’t as awful as everyone seems to think.

The first three I could leave.  I was sick when I read them.  It was nice having something to do.  The whole movie thing just seems miscast.

        • VicksieDo

          There is a fourth?  :-(

  • Vaniljekjeks

    She actually looks cute.

Love the shirt, hate that she couldn’t be bothered to shampoo or at brush her hair.I like the shoes and that she buttoned the jacket.

    • http://littlebrotherlives.tumblr.com LBrotherL

This wasn’t accidental hair, it was purposely styled like this. It usually is.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/4KLZGI7NMQE2LQDYYSMPFXANW4 Uche

Love the shirt, hate that she couldn’t be bothered to shampoo or at brush her hair.I like the shoes and that she buttoned the jacket.

  • http://twitter.com/vickiro51 victoria rodeno

What is wrong with her hair? She always looks like she just got out of a bush. Nasty. A comb or a brush works wonders.

  • http://eclectictsunami.blogspot.com/ Cassie

As Liz Lemon would say, I want to go to there.

By which I mean, I want every single thing she’s wearing here. What a great look and how perfect for her style.

  • Snailstsichr

I just love the shoes, but I cannot believe the price of the t shirt! Nevertheless, she looks great, perhaps the best she has ever looked.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=22917995 Nicole Renee

I’m surprised no Tlo nod for the oxfords! I agree completely, its totally her (since I know her and all..) and yet, muy expensivo and ‘hollywood’, as required.

  • MK03

I was gonna make a crack about not wearing jazz shoes on the promo circuit…but then I realized those really are jazz shoes.

  • Jecca2244

She’s not a girl thats ever happy in a dress. this is where she exists!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sarah-Adams/1143985903 Sarah Adams

She looks great. Unfortunately, she also looks like a high school kid squirming on the couch because she’s hugely embarrassed by the mere fact of existence. I sympathize with that age and feeling, but someone needs to coach her to sit up straight and not adopt such defensive, semi-fetal posture.

  • Anathema_Device

She does look great here. Love that outfit on her. Her makeup is good, too.

  • http://flippy-doodle.blogspot.com Flippy Doodle

I love the outfit, especially the shoes and the blazer, but not so sure about the leather pants (I hate leather pants). And slightly more tamed hair would have been a bonus. But otherwise, good look. And I do sort of adore her awkward smile now

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Liz-Norris/26609454 Liz Norris

That shot with her giving the thumbs-up? Awkward to the extreme. It probably looked better in motion, but I laughed when I saw that still.

  • kimmeister

What an unexpected deployment of the silk blazer!  Yet it totally works.  I will never like flat oxfords but that’s a minor quibble.

  • Super_Red

wow! she looks incredible! Love the outfit, love the hair- she’s rocking it- no pun intended. ;)

  • http://twitter.com/katshimmers Kat Wright

Thank the stars. She looks fab!

  • Rand Ortega

Perfect. Looks comfy in her skin for a change. Props to her stylist(s).

  • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Tess Danesi

Thank you T-Lo for providing links. I got a little giggle out of the $207 t-shirt.

No matter how I try I do not get the love of the flat oxford shoes. Of course, being 5 foot nothing could have something to do with that. But KStew does look great here. I actually saw part of this interview and while she looked cute, she seemed as dull as dishwater, nothing to keep me engaged enough to stay awake.

    • MilaXX

I’m 5′ 2″ and adore them. I’ve long since embraced my shortness and have no problem going between flats and heels

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Rock the short, fellow wee person!   I’m 5’5″ and am quite content with my height.

    • muzan-e

At 5’8, flat oxfords make me look stumpy and odd.  It is to sigh.  *g*

    • Susan Crawford

I’m 5’4″ and I really love oxford shoes of all kinds – they do nothing to give me height, but I’ve embraced my inner geek and gone for them full tilt. Besides, they are really comfy – which is something to be considered at my advanced age.

      • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Tess Danesi

I hear you on all counts including the advanced age. The older I get the less tolerant I am of my beloved gorgeous but painful heels. And shoes keep getting more and more painful. I should try embracing the short and the oxfords. The PUFs are working their magic on me.

        • Susan Crawford

When I started identifying NYC landmarks by the shoes I was wearing before falling on my face in front of the landmark – I knew it was time to make some changes. Oxfords may not be the prettiest of shoes, but face-planting in front of the Frick Museum while wearing Miu Miu wedges was not terribly attractive either! Grab a pair of oxfords and walk proud, my dear!

  • SayWTH

Yes, this is all age appropriate and all, BUT does she know who James Dean is??
And when you are visiting someone’s house (in this case Jay’s set) you don’t put your feet on the furniture – especially since the next person may be wearing white Versace or something.

Makes me wonder how she would handle being interviewed on Daddy’s set though. :-)

    • Rebecca Jay

Whose daddy?  Her daddy?  Jay’s daddy?  I don’t get it.

      • http://twitter.com/yankeefoxtrot Alex McGeagh

Her father is a TV producer for Fox.

        • http://twitter.com/ennisamy Amy Ennis

Oh. And now her celebrity suddenly makes sense…

          • http://twitter.com/azzletazzle Mona

no actually her father is a stage manager…he’s got nothing to do with producing shows…he runs the set. thats all.

          • http://twitter.com/yankeefoxtrot Alex McGeagh

Right?! Ha ha ha. My thoughts exactly.

    • FourPointOhMyGracious

Oh, I’m sure that’s the first and last time those shoes will ever be worn.

  • MilaXX

Finally a believable look on her. Well done. (Even though I find James Dean t-shirts kinda try hard)

  • Lina_bee

Nice to see her looking comfortable in her skin. I am baffled by these pants being made of “stretch leather”. Cow skin doesn’t contain spandex, so what the hell are these things actually made of?

    • http://thehathorlegacy.com MaggieCat

A few years back the company that owns the Lycra brand patented a process for actually bonding leather with Lycra. Obviously they’ve kept pretty mum on the specifics, but I assume at least the beginning step is using chrome tanned leather rather than vegetable tanning since it’s a lot softer and more flexible to begin with.

      • Lina_bee

        Thanks for the info!

  • tallgirl1204

This looks great sitting down.  More talk-show guests should pay attention to that.

  • Lisa

She looks good, what can I say?  Plus, I have those shoes!  (Not the designer ones, natch, but the exact same shoe in an affordable version!)

  • another_laura

She looks comfortable in her own skin – and skin-tight jeans – and so naturally looks tons better!

I love Oxfords and I love flats with this but somehow I’m not buying those shoes with this. I’ve gotten so picky!

  • ballerinawithagun

She looks great, but what a horrible interview.

  • Madeline Small

I have something all most exactly like her shoes! I feel all cool now! yaPr

  • http://twitter.com/Menshevixen Diana

Ugh I want this whole outfit.

  • bellafigura1

She’s gorgeous and cool and hot.  And she knows it.  And god bless!!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/K3O2QNXDJIU3AJINAGNJRYWDZ4 mrspotts66

uh.  i should never open a post with kristen stewart.
she needs to open her eyes…constantly looks bored with the world.
    love the outfit!

    • AnaRoW

       I don’t think she’s bored, just uncomfortable.

      • http://profile.yahoo.com/K3O2QNXDJIU3AJINAGNJRYWDZ4 mrspotts66

she has the same expression in every single scene of the twilight movies, and going back a few years, ‘panic room’.
she may very well be uncomfortable, but she’s an actor, for pete’s sake.
        ACT interested.  ACT comfortable.

        still loving the outfit.

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

She is so cute when she smiles. I wish she would do more of that.
And I would like that jacket please.

  • kikisayshi

She does look fab. I love every bit of it.

  • Susan Crawford

Super look! Best I’ve seen in quite a while.
The James Dean tee is faboo. Me likee!

  • Kyle Crawford

OMG!  someone in Hollywood, young or old,  being age appropriate! She looks great

  • Sophie Collier

Yep, this outfit is perfect.  Love it all, and I’m not a Tshirt kinda person.  Bravo to the stylist!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1551681662 Lauren Summers

She probably looks the best here I’ve ever seen her…for once, relatively comfortable yet stylish in a public appearance. Good job, stylists.

  • Pants_are_a_must

Yep, this outfit would look awesome on any one more comfortable in their own skin than her.

  • boweryboy

At least she doesn’t look like a little boy anymore.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1313126032 Ajuna Ariel Fenty

SERVING TOMBOY CHIC FOR THE GOOODS! YAAAS BISH, YOU BETTER WERQQQQQ

  • http://twitter.com/A_SmallFry AC

    Love this look!

  • LuluBI

Adorable! I think this is more “privileged hipster coed” than rocker chick, but adorable.

  • AlieMichelle

The thing that hits me most here is her makeup. She looks amazing! I feel like most of the time the makeup she wears really does her face no favors (and I feel her – I am also a pale girl with a pointy face who can’t pull off loads of makeup) – natural look is best for you, honey!

  • jw_ny

yes…really well put together look, and makeup is best it’s ever been.  Hair…eh, a bit too messed.

Now…get your foot off the furniture!

  • ASK26

hate the shoes.  Otherwise she looks very good

  • DebbieLovesShoes

    Must.Have.Shoes. Must must must.

and p.s., I agree with everything you said, beloved uncles…..

  • http://twitter.com/ennisamy Amy Ennis

This is by far the best she has ever looked. She actually looks comfortable and happy to be there. What a rare thing to see from her!

  • http://twitter.com/anacedillo Ana Ced

    agreed,look at her look natural

  • TieDye64

Hipster rocker cuteness. Is her smile actually reaching her eyes? Way to go, girl.

  • elemspbee

    agreed. cute bebe rocker chic/k.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

Absolutely the perfect look for her.

  • http://vhanna26.typepad.com Vera

While her outfit works, it’s just that she wears her clothing so awkwardly…

  • http://twitter.com/julepalooza patsy hatt

Am I the only one who thinks that the reason she always seems so awkward & uncomfortable in her own skin is because she is closeted?

  • Kerry Bennett

She looks really cool and cute.  Did anyone else notice that she’s wearing what looks like a ponytail holder on her wrist?  Or it’s an obscenely expensive bracelet that looks like a black Goody.

  • http://howtofaint.tumblr.com/ How to Faint

I know it’s off-topic, but that bizarre tilted pelvis thing they make catalog models do to show off pants really grosses me out, especially when it’s done with skintight pants/leggings like in the J Brand pic there. It looks unnatural and unsteady and even kind of painful. I know I’m being a loon here, but I can’t help it.

  • LilyPad

I think the oxford style of shoe immediately ruins any and all outfits, but that’s more of a personal taste issue. I really like the rest of the look, especially the blazer. Casual but perfectly polished. Except for the shoes.
I think she looks dramatically different and much prettier when she gives a full, authentic-looking smile vs. the more forced, close-lipped smug one.

  • http://twitter.com/jaythenerdkid Aaminah Khan

I know the tousled hair is probably supposed to be part of a look, but it just looks ratty and unhealthy at the ends.

  • http://janeaustensworld.wordpress.com/ Vic

She looks awesome here. I can’t wait to read your take on her get up at the Met Ball, which displayed the ugliest collection of gowns, hairstyles, and makeup I have seen in years.

  • RzYoung

I LOVE that jacket, actually I love the whole look and I don’t mind the hair. Wish I could get away with leather leggins!

  • BeeBeauNYC

I have to admit, as much as I really don’t care for her acting or her style, she looks good here, and she’s giving some cute smiles.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=50504968 Stephanie Hutson Erbesfield

Hate KStew, but love this outfit. Those shoes look so great with the entire look, which is amazing to me, because I usually HATE oxfordy shoes. All of my hate has turned into love, because I cannot deny…she’s never looked so good (though, yeah, brush your hair a little, girl!).

  • LuisaNL

she really does look amazing here and really comfortable in this look. Good on her for not going down the expected cocktail dress and sky high heels.

  • Laylalola

Oh thank God — that hair. To me this is the first possible sign that maybe we’re going to move away from pin-straight Brazilian blowouts and keratin for every woman whether they want it or not.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

Poor little bunny. She really hates this part of the job, doesn’t she? She does look fabulous and I’m seriously considering not paying a bill this week, so I can get those shoes.

  • Ann VerWiebe

She should have worn heels if only so her feet would touch the floor. It’s awkward to sit for very long with your legs dangling.

  • NCDFan

It’s so cool to see a young actress who can sit comfortably during an interview.

  • TheOriginalLulu

It’s a great look for her and she looks comfortable. Love that jacket. My friends and I used to dress like this back in the 80s. Skin-tight pants, rock t-shirt with a jacket sneaked from our mother’s closets and little white capezios. Of course, none of it was Dolce & Gabbana, mind you.

  • http://profiles.google.com/scaponigro Sarah Caponigro

    She looks so pretty!

  • HobbitGirl

GET YOUR FEET OFF THE DAMN FURNITURE.

Thank you. She does look cute here.

  • Cathy S

The only thing I don’t like is the pants. I think the rest is fabulous, even her hair, and it’s nice to see her smile. I love that last picture of her curled up in the chair.

  • guest2visits

Love the outfit; hate the shoes. I think they make her look peg legged. Wish she had really rocked the outfit with those shoes
    on the model.

  • BradWatson

Shoes are great. But Leno and KStew at the same time? Gads, throw in ZooDu and it’s like the medals ceremony at the Annoying Olympics!

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

Love it.  But I still want to run a brush through her hair, even though I know it goes against the whole Rocker Chick thing.

  • alyce1213

I think “awesome” is a bit hyperbolic.
“Good, pretty, cool, cute” — like many of my son’s adorable young lady friends — is a more appropriate description.
DId you get all excited just because she didn’t look horrible?

  • PeaceBang

I love it when women wear shoes they can actually run around and be speedy in instead of wobbling around on sky high heels to look hot for the mens. She looks adorable.

  • formerlyAnon

Agreed. I think the jacket is wonderful.

(Too bad she doesn’t look remotely comfortable, since the publicity is such a big part of the job.)

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_F73LIJ3SJGI5AJQMXMWXCKILHI Pamela

The best thing about her outfit (even over that blazer) is the smile on her face.  Fed uptohere w/ KStew’s eternal scowling b/c she’s so pretty.

  • FashionShowAtLunch

    FLOVE those shoes.

  • http://twitter.com/dianasof Diana

i want to be wearing everything she is wearing.

  • quiltrx

LOVE those shoes!  I’m so glad oxfords are back.  I had a pair of white woven leather ones in the 80s that I wore until they literally fell apart.  I MUST get a pair this go-round.

    • FashionShowAtLunch

I literally immediately clicked the link and went right to endless and bought a pair. Only $97!

  • portlandmermaid

    Feet off the couch. Now.

  • Diego!

She looks amazing! Love this look on her.

  • GTrain

She looks great and omg she smiled and time didn’t stop after all.

  • butter nut

she looks cool for the kids, but only assholes do leno.
