Kelly Osbourne Carries Lulu

Posted on May 02, 2012

We’ll get to Lulu in a second, first we have to say something.

Kelly Osbourne attends E! 2012 Upfront in NYC in a plaid dress paired with a Lulu Guinness clutch.

She’s veering into Dawn Davenport territory with that hair.

But hey, the dress is cute, right? This concludes the non-Lulu portions of our post.

Lulu Guinness ‘Fifi’ Clutch

Super-cute, right? Or too cute? In other words:

The Lulu Guinness “Fifi” Clutch: YEA or NAY?

We say YEA, for the record. And we think Kelly’s the gal to sport one. Even if her hair makes her look like a female prisoner in a correctional facility in 1962. Seriously, Kells. We say this with love: That is not your ‘do.

I actually like this ‘do on her a lot more than the huge mass of greyish purplish ringlets she was sporting around awards season

    • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

I think it really goes with this outfit.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

So true! It’s a huge, if imperfect improvement. I really wish she would abandon the lavender hair, though.

    • http://www.GiftedCollector.com Nancy Abrams

While the hairstyle could use a little tweaking, it is so flattering on her. And so is the dress. I think she’s looking adorable here.

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

      I agree.  It’s a huge improvement.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6RS6NLL44AED3E4QWIYTDQGU6I Psy_Chick

Yes, this is a giant improvement! She has a really strong jaw, and with her hair like this, it takes some of the focus away from the kind of weird shape of her jaw. Her face looks a lot softer here than I’ve ever seen it look. This is extremely flattering. Though I would like to see it in pretty much any other color.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

I’m with these guys. I really like the new do, though I’m pretty much over the color. And to answer the question put before us: like most accessories, a yea for the right person. This is not a bag just any old girl can work.

  • BazoDee

YEA -love the clutch! And oh I love how that dress is working her new cute figure (I know -not that new). I think this is what J-Lo must have been hoping!!

    • http://twitter.com/algaechick algaechick

I was thinking the same thing about the hips-this is what a dress should do for your outline, not what JLo’s managed to do (although that dress was a bit of a marvel, managing to make her look *that bad*).

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Yea to the clutch – very cute little bag for the young lady.  Nay a thousand times to the hair – both the color and the style make her look years older than she is.   Also, nay to matching your lipstick color to your shoes…

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/WRIGZZ4I2MRXWVTR5MQVH5PNB4 Henry

Like the clutch.  And I disagree about the hair; I think it’s light-years better than the last time I saw it (when it looked something like vintage aluminum siding).

  • Spicytomato1

Yea on the clutch. The Twees will go crazy for it, amirite?

    • Sobaika Mirza

Makes me feel old because I want one as well!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1241487378 Lauren Lynch Fox

The purple-grey was fun for a while, now I’m over it. As for the clutch, too cute…Nay

  • colleenjanel

I assume her hair is pinned up, not shorter? I’m still not loving the hair, but these pictures made me realize one thing. If you’re going to have lavender hair, it needs to be a super edgy style to avoid looking like Grandma Myrtle.  This style almost achieves a good shape, if only it weren’t so round. But short and asymmetrical might not be a bad way to go! The second picture is almost pretty (minus the horrid lipstick!)

  • Paigealicious

The makeup is making her face very creepy in that close-up shot…

  • introspective

yes to the clutch. fuck no to the hair.

    • introspective

and double fuck no to shoes that match your lipstick.

  • alyce1213

YEA on the cute clutch — it’s age- and outfit-appropriate.
But NAY on the shoes.  I’m already sick of the hot pink or hot (fill in the blank) pop-of-color shoes that don’t make sense most of the time.  (And they don’t even fit her.)
They’re simply this year’s replacement for the ubiquitous nude platform.

  • http://twitter.com/AShinyOConnor A Shiny O’Connor

Je suis on the fence with Lulu Guinness. Her cartoon retro is adorable and whimsical, but a bit childish.
I always imagine a wealthy prissy rich 10-year-old wearing her stuff on the way to ballet class. Also she’s too ‘Rule Britannia’ for my taste.

  • Spicytomato1

Oh comment on Kelly’s hair. When I was a kid I had this little scented doll, tiny body, huge head, that came packaged in a giant purple plastic lollipop. The doll’s hair color? Exactly the same shade as Kelly’s. The texture was similar too from what I can tell. So I see her and all I can think of is that purple scent. Not bad, exactly, but I doubt it’s what she intended to evoke.

    • vickinsb

      Liddle Kiddles!!

      • Spicytomato1

Ohmygosh, thanks, I would have never remembered that name. But now between knowing it and Google images, it’s all right in front of me again. So funny…all the different, crazy packaging is what really takes me back.

        • vickinsb

mine was also purple but in a grape soda bottle!  Loved that thing…

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Yea – especially with that dress and Kelly’s overall “look”.  There is no point in her trying to wear or carry ANYTHING serious.

  • Vaniljekjeks

I can’t get behind the pastel hair, or the jelly bean colored lipstick and shoes, and the clutch is kitschy in a bad way, BUT

That dress is FIERCE.  I love it.  I want it.  In my closet.  Right now.

  • http://twitter.com/Kathy_Marlow Kathy Marlow

Yea to the clutch, totally super cute!

  • MoreShoes

What a cute dress, I want it. The clutch is not my thing but still cute.

  • Jessi03

I love it all so much except for the hair and lipstick.  The dress!  The shoes!  The clutch!  All so adorable.

  • RebeccaKW

The dress is amazing and the shoes are too big and her smile is great and I love the hair style on her (admittedly better from a side view) but I don’t like that color on her.

The clutch is fun and is a yea in certain settings with certain gals.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=706642986 Suzan Ayda

She looks good and happy to me.

  • janetjb

Yea to the clutch, it plays nicely off the plaid dress.

  • Kate4queen

Yea! I’ve been collecting Lulu Guinness bags since 1997 :)

  • Pants_are_a_must

YEA. I want that clutch. I also want the dress.

But oh god, that hair. It seems to be going from awful to awful.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045295912 Charles Purdy

Hair veering into “Dawn Davenport territory” — am I the only one who read that as praise at first? … Oh, the clutch: Yea.

  • MilaXX

I give it a YEA. It would take some careful accessorizing but this could be cute.

  • PeggyOC

Yeah.  To the clutch and the dress, and hell, even to the shoes.  A continued nay to that hair.  It’s just not doing her any favors.  I’m all for the funky, but the funky that makes you fugly is no good.

  • Judy_J

I think Kelly’s hair is adorable….the cut, that is, not the color.  Still can’t get behind that lavender.  The dress is very cute…I’d love to have it hanging in my closet.  And the clutch is a YEA.  I just wish her shoes fit her foot.  They look to be a size too big.

  • cclaussen3

She’s verging into Mrs Slocombe territory with the hair colors lately. Are You Being Served? anyone, anyone …,

  • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Cute. I love the dress and the hair but I’m not sure about that shade of pink lippy with the hair.

  • http://twitter.com/The_Bugler Anna Daugherty

The hair looks stupid, but that dress is killer. Love the clutch. YEA!

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/4KLZGI7NMQE2LQDYYSMPFXANW4 Uche

I love this dress. And the clutch. Think what it would look like if her hair had been done.

  • jilly_d

WHERE CAN I GET THAT DRESS

  • piecesofconfetti

    YAY, why not – it’s fun :)

  • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Tess Danesi

She’s werking that lavender hair. I hated the grey, I’m not sold on the lavender but she looks so damn HAPPY in these pics, I can’t saw she looks bad. The dress is a marvel and I want it. The clutch is cute though really on the youthful side. Hate the shoes, they seem too clunky and weighty for the dress but overall she looks pretty darn great.

  • Little_Olive

Yay to the clutch and the dress (style). I used to support her grayish-lavender hair but not anymore. Nay to the hair and especially to those shoes and especially, especially, to that horrid lipstick paired with those shoes.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Exactly the right amount of cute. Yea!

  • http://twitter.com/GaraStJames Gara St. James

Dress adorable, clutch cute as can be. But yeah, that hair needs to go. There is a problem when your hair is clashing with your SHOES.

  • leftcoastpickle

I think she looks fantastic, mainly because I am in love with that dress, and I think she is rocking the purple hair do.
I hate the peep-toe shoes and the shoe colour. I would prefer to see some warm chartreuse green, that would look fantastic with the hair. Please cover the tattoos on your feet, they look so awful with this outfit. I think the purse is silly, but inoffensive.

  • nycfan

mmmmm … too much cute for me, though not by much … just enough that I would put it back

  • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

    Love the purse thingy.

  • http://blue-again.myopenid.com/ blue

The hair is too close to grey. It just looks weird with her young, unlined face. If you gotta go purple, make it a deep or bright purple, girl. Love the dress. Don’t care for the handbag, too kitschy, but it suits her, I guess.

  • http://twitter.com/worldofsass Molly Reid

I have to defend Kelly’s hair because I’m baffled that no one here thinks it looks amazing or even kind of good. IT LOOKS AMAZING. God, all you people sound like old fuddy-duddies, dissing the hair for absolutely no good reason other than it’s a slightly wacky shade. It works with her skin tone and it makes her look less severe than the uber-platinum she was sporting a while back. Seriously don’t get the hate for the hair.

  • Super_Red

I freaking adore that dress. Can I have it please? please? anyone know the maker?

    • LaurelTrz

I know – I really want to know where that dress comes from.

  • belfebe

YEA.  Cute as a button.  And the hair is an improvement over the grey that made her look too old.

  • SapphoPoet

YEA for the clutch. NAY for the lavender hair.

  • Carly Warnock

yay. kelly reminds me of my old figure skating coach who used to sport lilac hair.

  • http://twitter.com/ennisamy Amy Ennis

Yay for the clutch. Love it. Her hair looks better here than it has in a while, but I so wish she’d go back to any color that is natural looking and not gray.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sonja-Brisson/1156967466 Sonja Brisson

My main issue with her look (and we love the Kelly and how far she has come!) is that it all just sniffs at the edges of…cheap. And accessories far too teenish for her age.  Oof, that purse is not good. She certainly has the $, so not sure why this is so. How about some real jewelry? The purse, the hair, the shoes — sorry, they look thrifty and they don’t even fit! — it’s all stuff that feels like stuff you can purchase at the mall. I don’t get it and I think she needs to move it all up about 15 notches into something more special, especially since has been cast as a fashion maven.

  • Dan_In_NYC

Loving this whole thing.  Her hair looks terrific.  And for reasons that make no earthly sense, I am positively living for the shoes that match the lipstick.  Why?  No Idea. I give her a WERQ.  So there.

  • Lina_bee

Aww, she looks great!  The hairstyle is great on her and I still dig the lavender, even though I know I’m in the minority on that score. The dress is adorable. The clutch is awesome. Even her makeup looks great. I’m not even a little sold on the shoes because they clash with her hair — a pop of color is necessary here, but that shade of bubblegum and that shade of lavender do not mesh.

  • SpcilK

    She looks great!

  • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

    NAY.

  • Beardslee

    Yea!  Love lulu guiness

  • http://dentsdelait.tumblr.com/ Nancy Marion

I hope she gets those cha-cha heels.

  • http://twitter.com/toesthattwink Toes That Twinkle!

That looks like a Mondo dress…

    • holdmewhileimnaked

      you know, you are right.
      i wonder if it is.

  • TieDye64

The clutch is adorable and a definite YEA for the girl who has a sense of humor. Love Kelly’s get-up. The hair? At least it isn’t that awful grey any more. That was far worse.

  • Stefanos Mantyla

Well, maybe I am a bit off my game today, but is this not the best at which I have seen her hair? I swear I am not trying to be contradictory; I just have no idea what you guys are going on about!

As a long-time NON-fan of Kelly Osbourne, I cannot say she looks bad at all! Can you believe that? And yes, the dress DOES in fact suit her. In fact, this could have functioned as a WERQ post, as far as I am concerned, even if the shoes look maybe a little cheap (whew! Got that one out of my system. Proud of me, yet?).

Oh, and YEA to the clutch.

  • crash1212

YAY! Love it…that little tear in the corner of the eye is hilarious. WANT.

  • Knightley

Actually with her hair color, she’s always what I pictured a young, trendy,  Mrs. Slocum from “Are you being served?” would look like.   It just needs to be in a beehive…

I can’t between the cotton candy hair and the faded roots. It’s the roots that bug me worst – they’re aging and unflattering (and I say this as a person who hopes to go salt-and-pepper when I get older like many of my aunts because I think it looks fabulous and authoritative). If you want ombre hair, then you need more ombre. If you just want lavender, keep it neat. In between looks messy. The clutch is cute though. And I’d take the dress.

I like that dress (in general, not just on her), but does anyone else wish she would just go away? Out of all the nepotism out there in the industry she’s literally done nothing with hers to keep her actually relevant.

  • giiiirrrr

Creepy.  Not in a good Sharon Needles way, but in a bad Baby Jane kind of way.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1344314000 Anne Meek White

I love the cut of her hair, not the color, but I agree it’s much better than that silvery purple she wore earlier. YEA on the clutch!!

  • holdmewhileimnaked

i actually really love the hair. especially in the second shot. this is not a conventionally beautiful girl–which is fine, conventionally beautiful girls are, to me anyway, a plug nickel a dozen. but being unconventional makes yr life difficult in all sorts of ways–at the same time it opens opportunities a person would never have bothered w/ if he or she did not feel compelled. one of those ways is the bluing of the hair. or, in this case, the purpling. but i like dawn davenport too. i wanna say female trouble is my favorite of his movies but, you know, it’s desperate living.

as for the purse, it’s very cool. the older versions, as ever, might have a little something on it–the schiaps, the dalis–but this ones great for the current currency.

  • jjfg

The hair looks so crispy it’s hard to tell if the cut’s any good.

The purse – don’t carry one myself and wouldn’t touch this one if you paid me, but it works for her so I’ll go yea.

  • formerlyAnon

I think Kelly looks great. Especially for her, you know?

I say Nay to the clutch if you’re over 22 or trying to appear sophisticated.  Which opinion will stop no-one, I know.  But honestly, it looks like a cross between a children’s toy and a strangely shaped hip flask.

  • http://profiles.google.com/rosatcollege Ros Clarke

Yay! To the clutch and the dress. Not so much the hair, shoes or lipstick.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1303837450 Lauren Dorsee Dillon

I think she’s adorable full-stop. I could do without the pink platform peep toes, however.

  • toriadoria

I actually love the hair. Maybe because she looks SO happy and carefree.

  • Lilithcat

There is something very weird about that extremely conservative schoolmarm dress juxtaposed with purple hair and bubblegum pink shoes.

  • Joyce VG

Oh YEA!  and Team Kelly!!  She looks beautiful.

  • http://tigergray.blogspot.com/ Tiger Gray

    that dress is killah

  • marilyn

Nay on the purse.  It is too Hello Kitty.  Come on, we are all grown ups here.  If Kelly were 12, I would give her a pass on this.    Back to the rest of her:  When you have freak hair, you do not need contrasting shoes.  She should have played it conservative with the shoes, and we would have known what we are supposed to look at (=her purple hair=wants attention, but no talent).

  • Tracy_Flick

Yea! It’s more subtle when it’s being carried. Love the dress, but the hair, lipstick, and shoes veer into marshmallow peep territory.

  • EEKstl

Yea for her, Nay for most. I also like the dress and think the pink shoes work.  But they should have sent her the right size – those are at least 1/2 size too large.

  • sagecreek

Why again do we care about Kelly Osborne? Did she do anything beyond picking the right dad?

  • nannypoo

What is it with her and this shitty hair? The dress is cute.

  • GorgeousThings

    I love me some Lulu!

  • ThaliaMenninger

    Love the clutch. Go, Lulu!

  • Mary Gallagher

A+ for the Dawn Davenport reference.

The bag is adorable, but reads very young.

  • tvmovielover

That dress is really flattering to her figure-would have to see someone else in it to see if it works in general.  The purse is cute but she is about as old as one should be to carry it though as pointed out, it is less obvious in hand.

  • tvmovielover

  • cleep1000

I like the hair with this shorter cut. The color doesn’t bother me at all. The lip nicely complements the hair. I would have liked a shoe color that had a little more purple in it. (I know, matchy.)

She’s got a great figure and is a genuinely nice girl. Watch Fashion Police if you don’t believe me.

  • http://www.fatladysings.us/ TFLS

I think she looks great!  Very Kelly – but in a super good way.  Love the dress, love the shoes – I even like the hair and make-up (for her).  It suits, somehow.  And that bag rocks!  I say Go Kelly!!

  • Snailstsichr

I love the lavender hair so much more than the grey. I even kinda love the lipstick with it. I think she is adorable. So cute, in fact, that I didn’t really notice the clutch.

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

You know I haven’t generally liked this hair on her but here I loves it. Love the whole outfit, YEA on the bag.

  • bellafigura1

    She’s looks great!

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

That’s an incredibly weird haircut, but she looks slamming in that dress so I won’t even complain.  The bag isn’t for everyone, but it works for this look.

    IN!

  • unbornfawn

Yea on the bag. Especially paired with an outfit like this when it is the only cutesy element. Kelly is werqing it from the neck down. Love the pink shoes with this outfit.

  • Susan Crawford

Absolutely YEA on the bag! Sure, it’s cutesy, but hey, every gal should have one item in her lineup that is guaranteed to raise a smile, no? And it definitely is a werq with the graphic print and design of her dress. Now . . . about that hair, Miss Kelly? We need to talk. Call me.

    Yay!

And the Mrs Slocombe hair colour looks just about okay in that style.

    Great frock!

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I like the haircut but MAKE THE PURPLE/GREY/WEIRDNESS GO AWAY.  Please.   The clutch?  Meh.  I think it’s too kitsch for my tastes.. but she’s pretty young, right. Perhaps that makes it ok for her…

  • sashaychante

LUV this outfit on Kelly.  It’s a very flattering dress.  Really suits her style.  No opinion on the hair, other than she seems to be trying to find a style.

  • spooki C

Cute shoes, cute dress, cute bag, makeup is on point but I still do not like purple on her.

  • http://twitter.com/mirrormirrorxx Paola Thomas

I think this is veering into WERQ territory.  I think she looks fab…

  • Renaissance_Man_ATL

Yea for Lulu!  And I’d give Kelly a WERQ, except for the shoes that match her lip color.

  • http://roughmenstandready.wordpress.com/ Dejah Thoris

Nay on the clutch. Too “Hello Goth-Kitty.” Not enough Betty-Boop. It about a micron thick line between the two, but I feel strongly that it has crossed over.

  • SewingSiren

Practically perfect in every way. Yea!

  • lucasuk82

Yea – I like a touch of whimsy in fashion and I think the shocking pink shoes are a subtle Schiaparelli joke. I kind of love the shape of the hair, especially in profile. That Dame Edna color needs to go away.

  • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

That’s a great dress, very flattering, and I love the clutch.  I don’t like the bubblegum pink shoes, but that’s entirely a personal color preference on my part.

  • KittenBritches

Yea to the Fifi clutch.  And the hair is gross.  Not too fond of the shoes, either.  Love the dress.

  • DCSheehan

I love her whole look here. Especially that dress. Her hair looks better than it has for months. All in all I give this a werq.

  • NurseEllen

What bothers me the most about these photos is, oddly, not her hair–which actually looks better than it has in some time, I think—but rather, those stupid tattoos on her feet.  How I loathe this particular trend, which shows no sign of abating any time soon.  The dress is very cute, she looks sincerely tickled to be posing, and the purse is an absolute YEA.

  • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Great dress, great clutch, great hairstyle for her.  HOWEVER.  Her lipstick, tanned face and hair color are all clashing with each other.  It feels like a reverse color image to me.  I keep thinking that if I stare at her head for 30 seconds and then quickly look at a white sheet of paper, it will all come out right.

  • Sophie Collier

Super cute dress.  The Lulu bag is… a bit too young for her. It’s a teenager’s bag.  A rich teenager, sure, but looks a bit goofy for a grownup.

  • Julian Betkowski

Shut up, her hair is awesome. I don’t care, you’re wrong.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Yea for the bags. Nay for the hair and pink shoes.

  • plinkiedoodle

Sorry boys and so worried about disagreeing with you, because who knows what form your vindication will take.

But here goes:  love the hair, hate the clutch.

I’m in duck and cover mode until further instructions.

  • mjude

    YEA

  • siriuslover

I like her hair style just not the color on her (and I hated that silver too). Meh on the clutch. Cute, but I wouldn’t use it.

  • http://profiles.google.com/anplica Anplica Fiore

    Yea!  Love whimsical purses!!

  • quiltrx

    Yea.  So cute.

    OH DAWN, NOT ON CHRISTMAS!

(this dress is a knockout, btw.)

  • Lisa Kramp

Sometimes that hair color ages her, but the ‘Dawn’ do actually accentuates the youth of her face and I like it. Dress is super cute. Shoes are super wrong. And I LOVE that bag! I’m old enough to be her mom and I’d carry it in a hot heartbeat!

  • librarygrrl64

I’m not always a fan of kitsch, but that clutch is adorable. Love the dress on her, too. YEA!

  • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

Hate the clutch. I hate novelty clutches. This is a novelty clutch. But I guess it goes perfect with Kelly’s novelty hair.

  • Beth G

The lavender is better than the weird gray it was.

  • Stubenville

    The clutch? Utterly twee…

  • Cathy S

Yea on the dress, nay on the clutch, and triple nay on the hair.

  • Stubenville

    Dawn or Mrs. Slocombe?

  • TheOriginalLulu

This girl never has the same hair color for more than a week, but for some reason she still hasn’t grown tired of this ugly color.
Time to change it, Kelly! Please, for the love of pete.

The dress and clutch are cute! YEA

  • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

    Love that little clutch!

  • guest2visits

This all works for her. I’m not crazy about the clutch,- but again, it works for her. Pretty.

  • http://www.facebook.com/izzzyy Dixie Murphy Ross

Yeah. Mega cute without being tweetastic.

  • snarkykitten

I hate her hair but kudos to her for having the balls to do something different. She’s come a long way since Ozzie stumbled through reality TV

  • oohsparkley!

Yea! for the clutch.  And I was thinking her hair was kinda cute and the color is looking better.

Yea! She looks great. I don’t even mind the hair; she’s young and that is her time to experiment with hair and play with fashion.

I don’t mind the hairstyle, but that color has got to go! And sorry guys… I hate the purse. Nay. Reminds me of high school emo crowd, which is never a good thing.

Huh, she made matching her lipstick to her shoes really work.

Nay. It would be fun for a travel make-up bag but too silly for a real purse.

She looks adorable in that dress, great fit and it suits her really well.  Even the awful hair color doesn’t seem quite so bad here, the cut and style is better than usual.  That purse is only cute for about 10 girls on the planet, she is one of them.  But it is certainly a “once a season” purse or you become that girl with THAT purse again!.

Hair and shoes are terrible.  And I still can’t figure out what her function is on this planet.

I’ll give the clutch a YEA but only for special occasion use.

all good all around. The hair is tiring though improved.

Total and complete yea on the clutch; Lulu Guiness is always right by me. I’m just tired of the lavender gray hair no matter what she does with it.
