In or Out: Kristen Stewart in Vivienne Westwood

Posted on May 21, 2012

Let’s all, for the purposes of this discussion, pretend that Kristen is positively aglow with positivity and beaming with happiness. We’ll waste less time that way.

Kristen Stewart attends “Snow White and the Huntsman” photocall in Mexico in a Marios Schwab top and Vivienne Westwood pants. Bracelets by Baubble Bar and Anita Ko. Pumps by Christian Louboutin.

Baubble Bar Neon ID Bracelet

Anita Ko Gold Spike Bracelet

Christian Louboutin ‘Un Bout’ Pump

Okay, here it is, in bullet form.

  • It’s a photocall, which means a certain casualness is perfectly warranted. Besides, we love pants on the RC.
  • We acknowledge right away that there are proportion issues here. You can’t wear a cropped top and cropped pants together without looking like you had a sudden growth spurt in the last 5 minutes.
  • Those shoes are kind of awful.
  • We like the pants a lot, but there’s so much going on around the hips that, from a proportion standpoint, they’d look better uncuffed and full-length.
  • That top is pretty awful too.
  • Basically, we only like the pants, but hate the way she’s wearing them.

There. Now decide.

Vote Now!

IN! Chic and kickass!

OUT! Sloppy and ill-fitting!

The Precious Unborn Fawns had some quibbles with Jessica Chastain’s Cannes Barbie look, but gave it an enthusiastic IN overall.

In. Love everything about this look.

    • H3ff

      So do I.

Impressed that she is pulling off such a chic look so easily.

  • in

  • Lisa Dugan

It’s potentially awkward but I call it an In and adorable.

    • Sobaika

      That’s pretty much K.Stew in a nutshell.

  • greyhoundgirl

OUT.  Going to the mall?  Not that there’s anything wrong with the mall but she should probably look better than that.

  • アオト

  • Marissa Wiley

    In – it’s working.

  • Dr. Derf van der Derf

    I only like the shoes

  • RebeccaKW

I’m not even going to grade the hair, which is apparently now her thing.  Unwashed/unbrushed hair is to Kristen Stewart what sequined bathtowels/naked shoes are to Jennifer Aniston.  I don’t like it, but I’m tired of talking about it.

I like the idea of the outfit, but not the execution of it.  The hip/crotch area of the pants are ridiculous and the shirt could have been made in home ec.  The shoes are an atrocity.

ETA: At least she doesn’t look pissed off or hung over here. That’s a plus.

    • NC_Meg

Seriously, in the words of the Duchess (Kors, not Cambridge), “Those pants are INSANE!”

      • Marina Doshkevich

The “Dutchess” is stuck in 2003 with the low rise bull. Thats why his stock is sliding downhill.

    • lifetime_student

      Everything RebeccaKW said x2.

    • littlemac8

I did make that “crop top” in 9th grade home ec…I was so proud.  I never tried sewing pants but I have the feeling that if I did the crotch would look like this one!!

  • GorgeousThings

Who cares? I want to put her and Jada Pinkett Smith in a cage and watch them bitchslap the bejeezus out of each other. That would be worth the price of admission!

    • RebeccaKW

My money’s on Jada.  I’m not sure Kristin has any energy to fight.  Now, in a dead-eyed staring match, I’d be all in on Kristen.

      • NC_Meg

Mine too. I feel like Jada could tear you up if she needed to.

        • schadenfreudelicious

Girl is wound up tighter than a drum, Jada FTW…

          • butterflysunita

I agree–no competition at all for Jada.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

OMG you made me laugh, GorgeousThings!  I would pay money to see that, and bet everything I owned on JPS.

    • oh_dear_oh_dear

Two Enter the Death Closet, But Only One Comes Out!

    • Le_Sigh

OOH.  That would be amazing – Jada would eventually reduce Kristen into a mewling clump of hair, but it would surely be magnificent to watch.

  • rainwood1

OUT.  It looks like Santino made those pants.

  • Out. It looks like the result of a Project Runway challenge where someone focused on the pants and threw together the top in the last 8 minutes.

    Also, Kristen? Hairbrush.

  • Pannyx

I only like the shoes, otherwise out.

  • GTrain

  • IN. It suits her to a T. Just the right amount of sass.

  • I like the shoes. Everything else, awful.

  • Le_Sigh

Out.  I like the shoes and the pants, but not together.  And not the way she’s wearing them.

    • She was on Graham Norton Saturday night and wore a similarly disconnected outfit. As a talk show guest, she was useless.

  • svtl

IN because the shoes are so horrendously wonderful. Someone send her to the hairdresser, please. PLEASE

  • JasmineAM

Putting aside my irrational hate for her, I think she looks good. It suits her better than the gowns and dresses she usually wears.

  • HomeOfficeGirl

So hard!  I think there are some cool ideas here, but hard to say I like any one thing, or all of it together  I honetly don’t!  But for some reason I can’t explain, it’s a very reserved IN for me.

  • Super_Red

Gotta say Out. I like where it’s heading, but it had too many pit stops along the way that just didn’t work. If those pants didn’t fit her so terribly, and that shirt was a little longer, this would have been pretty great. I like the idea of the shoes, but their pretty terrible in reality. The pop of color is a good idea though. So… not a “oh, god, my eyes, my eyes” out, but an out nonetheless.

  • LuluBI

Hate it!  Shoes are tacky as shit, and a big NO to the cropped top/pants combo.  That fold-over detail on the pockets would flatter no one.

  • Vodeeodoe

IN. She makes that look young and fun. The shoes are the icing on that cake. I just have to deal with her looking like a stoner, even when she’s smiling. I’ll get over it.

  • Eva_baby

    In.  From the neck down.

  • Out. Don’t like her, don’t like the top. And besides, who wants to see some squashed toes in heels? It’s just not cute, I already want those partly see-through Louboutin shoes to seize existing. Err-lack.

    • Vodeeodoe

I have a friend who is really into “toe cleavage”. I’m just saying, there is a subset out there…

      • Toe cleavage is one thing, squashed toes in PVC is another… Maybe I’m just old-fashioned!

  • In, plus she’s in Mexico so I think its kinda country-appropriate.  I love those shoes.

  • Jangle57

Maybe with a different pair of shoes I’d be more forgiving, but those shoes!  Yuck.  OUT

  • ccm800

In – she looks cute overall – all things noted

  • momato

In.  She wears it with the right attitude.

  • Out – the words train wreck come to mind here.

  • In. She looks killer. Not a fan of the neon trend but have to say the shoes work here.

  • karena10

Out.  I like the bracelets, but that’s all.  The top looks like part of the paper gowns you wear at the doctor’s office and the pants don’t fit at all.

  • MoHub

    Out. Total beachcomber.

  • gsk241

It’s a good look for her – IN

  • benjamin478

IN. kinda chic and i like the shoes.

  • Annie Leung

OUT, the shoes are fine but everything is just so off that I can’t handle it.

  • Sharyn Glowatz

That’s an IN, sorry to disagree!!  Love the shoes, they are fun.  Her face and hair, not good but everything else she is working.

  • Judy_J

Those plastic shoes are just plain awful.  Looks like she’s got neon yellow cones stuck on her toes.  The blouse is kind of cute, but I hate those pocket flaps on the pants, and I also hate the way she’s rolled up the cuffs.  OUT.

  • Look at the poor girl! Obviously she was mugged on the way to the photo call and her gays did their best to cover her up. She rolled one gay’s pants while the other sewed her a shirt out of his handkerchiefs.  The shoes were borrowed from a desperate fan. Under the circumstance, she only looks half desperate. But still OUT.

  • Kirsten Henry

    in! so cute

  • I don’t like the shoes, but IN otherwise. She looks interesting and I really like the trousers.

  • MightyMarshal

In. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it. I like everything but that top. I even like the pants cuffed with the shoes. And I kind of love the shows. And the bracelets have a kind of casualness to them.

  • TheOriginalLulu

    – She washed her hair and there are no bags under her eyes! IN!!

  • Nope. It’s still ugly.

  • Stefanos Mantyla

Challenging look, with which she is not doing too badly. It has to look deliberate, though, which I think it does, considering this is up for an IN/OUT, and not for an immediate trashing. I also really like those bracelets.

In the end, IN for me.

  • PaperPusher2

Out.  Out for just the incredibly unflattering pants that give her weird cameltoe.

  • Pants_are_a_must

Are we allowed to say something about the über fried hair? Or just criticize the awfulness of this outfit?

  • SheWhoMustBeObeyed

Out. Top’s too short. Shoes are hiddy. Hair is lackluster. I do like the pants and her makeup, tho.

  • Dhammadina

Eeeeeeek. No, no, no. I like the ID bracelet, though.

  • Imasewsure

Just don’t get it at all… OUT

  • bookish

OUT. The only positives are her lovely eyebrows and her lipstick color.

  • hughman

You know, if she had a zillion black rubber bracelets on one arm and a big lace bow in her hair, I’d almost believe she was trying to look Retro 80s.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

What you said, TLo, what you said.  OUT.

  • IN! Sassy and fun, but tasteful. The shoes are cool and she looks tall.

  • DCSheehan

So out. I hate everything here.

  • MilaXX

I know this sounds weird because I don’t entirely disagree with T & Lo’s critiques, however this is the first time I feel like I’m seeing Kristin wearing an outfit that she actually looks comfortable in. if I was dressing hr I think I would have gone for a regular top rather than a cropped top, but overall this look works for me.
    Small IN

    • mjude

well said milaxx, i totally agree. IN

  • j_anson

I… think it’s her, for better or worse. IN.

  • SapphoPoet

So, I’m not quite sure how to articulate this. I don’t like any of the individual elements but somehow she manages to pull this off. It’s such a better look for her than the formal gowns. For formal events, she needs to find a designer who designs clean, slightly edgy, age-appropriate dresses. Then her constant dismal expression will look right in place.

Anyway, in. But lowercase and in a small font.

  • VeryClaire

I think she looks cute, which she rarely does. In.

  • Cathy S

Aw hell no. The whole thing just looks wrong.

  • terekirkland

Awk. Ward. This is a great case of the sum of the parts not working as a whole. The pieces themselves are okay, but combined make her look really boxy. Also—cropped pants+cropped top=strange proportions.

  • If the pants weren’t quite so high waisted, this might work. Maybe. OUT. But you know, so much better than so much of what she wears….

  • Out.

  • nomoreprinces

1983 called.  Madonna wants her shoes back.

  • introspective

there’s a stylishness to this outfit and yet it seems somehow off. like those above me have said, being slightly off is homegirl’s calling card.

all the major pieces (shirt, pants, shoes) have wonky elements, and yet she makes it work. in with a small i.

  • carolynmo

Out. However, I really like that spiked bracelet.

  • LongTall_Sally

IN!  Its not perfect, but she’s making it work.  She looks more comfortable than usual, and it suits her.

  • jilly_d

OUT.  those are some sweet bracelets and they deserve a better outfit than this.

  • (Mess) X (Infinity).

  • Hair-BRUSH.

  • Dearest, TLo, thank you for proving once and for all that Christian Louboutin is not infallible.  Those shoes are foul.  This whole outfit is horrid and ill-fitting.  And don’t even get me started on that bitch’s hair. OUT!

  • BeeBeauNYC

OUT. At least she’s got a great body that she can wear ill-fitting clothes on, though.

  • Out..the pants pull and crease because they are a size to small around the hips, the shoes are awful…and the crop top/crop pant combination is just not working for me…i like the makeup though…but her hair just looks fried…and the spoiled/disinterested demeanor of this girl gets on my last nerve….

  • well, her skin and her makeup look nice…

  • Out. You forgot to mention the awful hair in addition to the awful top and awful shoes. Those pants aren’t nearly strong enough to overcome everything else.

  • Qitkat

    Cute, but adorkable.

  • Kyle Crawford

I think this suits her, and for once, she does not look like her dog just died. Thumbs up.

  • guestela

    no. just no.

  • altalinda

She’s clearly happier and for that she earns some points.  Still out, though, for the reasons you stated.  Especially the shoes.

  • out.
and for dog’s sake, BRUSH YOUR HAIR.  ugh.

  • Sara__B

  • 3rdsister

Out — too sloppy to be chic.

  • Judy_S

The shoes are nasty but I like the growth spurt concept. She is young enough to look good looking as if she is a foot taller than yesterday. So IN.

  • In.

  • amywinns

Out. Annoying fit, proportion and styling. I like the subtle neon in the bracelet connecting it to the shoes, and I like the idea of a SMALL amount of neon against classic neutrals, but that’s the nicest thing I can say about this crazy expensive yet tragically sloppy and incongruent look.

  • Anathema_Device

Out. I don’t like belly shirts. If the shirt were an inch or two longer, I wouldn’t mind it so much. I like the idea of neon pumps with this, but clear plastic on shoes will never not look cheap to me.

I do love the pants, though. And her hair and makeup are good.

  • In.  She’s young and casual, and it’s a young, casual look.  Those shoes are crazy, but add a point of interest to this outfit.

  • Out. Terrible. The pants would be cute if they fit differently, but those Louboutins are becoming the new Stella McCartney blood cell dress for me. I cringe when I see them.

  • Call me Bee

I abstain, since KS is on the very tippy top of my Celeb Dislike Intensely List.

  • OUT!!!  All the way, out.

  • Julie Fountain

Out. Shoes are tragic. And something weird is going on with the crotch of those pants.

  • clairellis

This is so out it’s almost a home run.

  • OUT – but I’m liking her face more than usual.

  • Out. Can’t abide by crop tops at all. Also cannot sign off on those shoes with those pants.

  • DinahR

OUT  I like the pants too, but I pretty much hate how she’s wearing them… and everything else about this outfit aside from the neon shoes and maybe her hair.   I think her over-it expression is kind of amusing though.  Someday soon she’ll be too old for that look of thinly veiled disdain to be cute anymore.  Enjoy it while you can Kristy.

  • AWS

I like it all.  Very “Friends” from the 90s with “vintage” shoes from the 80s.

  • RoxieRider

In. Something about it works for me.

  • butterflysunita

  • holdmewhileimnaked

1/ having long been there & too often done that very ting, i understand probably most of the nuances of why she wore them but, oh my heavenly heavens, those shoes is hideous.
2/ i would bet you good money that vwestwood would like this one for even more precisely the same reason that i do. that said, if she has enough money [which she now does, via a book/movie combo that should never have existed], it might be worth her while to get her pants tailored direct from the source. even if theyre free.

  • Joyce VG

    I kinda like it. IN.

  • Snailstsichr

Out. These pants have all the allure of Mom Jeans when worn with this top.

  • belfebe

In.  I sort of like it.

  • Out.  but i do like the shoes….

  • ThaliaMenninger

Out. The pants are awful, and even worse cuffed. The shoes are AWFUL. There isn’t one thing I like here.

  • MzzPants

She gets an IN for actually smiling.  The outfit is fair, pant fit is gawdawful.

  • tired_mommy

hmmm…I hate the outfit, but for once she actually looks confident/comfortable so I think in?

  • elizabeth williams

    so 80’s, so O U T.

  • nannypoo

Well, it’s  Kristen Stewart, so it’s an out from me. I just can’t get past how unpleasant she is.

  • Terence Ng

    In. A Kristen Stewart In.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Interesting, unique but not fussy. I think I kinda like it, she should get with Evan Rachel Wood for some pointers, but I’m a fan of this direction. IN.

  • aristida_girl

    out..its all bad

  • another_laura

Out. For the clear plastic in those shoes alone she should be out.  But the blouse is not good and the pants are wonky.  Sorry, dear.

  • kimmeister

In.  I wouldn’t wear a single item, but they’re working on her.  Plus, she actually looks like’s she’s comfortable in her skin, for once.

  • In. Love the shoes, I am loving the neon trend with the otherwise dull outfit.

  • Cautiously Pessimistic

Out.  There’s casual and then there’s sloppy.

  • turtleemily

I like the outfit (except the shoes, let’s not even talk about the shoes), but I feel like it would look better on someone else and with the pants unrolled.

  • Lina_bee

The crop-crop-clear effect makes her look like she’s hovering above the floor. Who needs feet anyway?

  • bluefish

Out — Awful shoes.  Ill-fitting pants, etc — Cute idea though.  Also, do we really need yet another fairy tale remade movie?  This trend is one that just won’t die!

  • siriuslover

All I needed to see was for her to fold her pants over before she cuffed them and she’d be ready for 1987. Out.

  • bailey debruynkops

I love the shoes, but I’m a dayglo advocate. IN

  • Olggie

Let’s give her an in.  She looks casually put together and young and I like the shoes.  I hate her though.

  • sagecreek

No, sorry. I feel bad for la Stewart, since she gets it wrong so often, and I do grade her on a curve.

But even on a curve, this is an OUT.

  • TheLaurenJean

Is there any question when it comes to Kristen? O to the U to the T, out!

  • i actually kinda dig this, and more importantly, SHE’S WEARING CONCEALER!!! yay for not looking like death in pictures. IN.

  • msdamselfly

    LIke everything but the shoes

  • IN. Love everything.

  • marilyn

Out.  She just grabbed odd things from her closet and was out the door.  She should have been dressed better.

  • TSkot

The whole is worse than the sum of the parts:  OUT

  • kikisayshi

I love it! IN. Even her makeup looks good. I want those neon shoes!

  • suzq

  • argonauticos

In.  I even like the shoes. That hair, however….

  • In! I like that it’s still Kristen, and it’s a little different.

  • I’m voting this a whatevs.

  • Moondancer5

That outfit would have gotten her thrown bodily off Project Runway.

Unless she was a beauty queen who can’t sew.

    • Lisa_Cop

      Hehe. Good one.

  • joe_tey83

I can’t pretend Kristen SulkyFace Stewart is beaming with happiness, I just can’t. It’s like trying to pretend Joe Manganiello is a small asexual child, I just can’t.

Anyhoo, OUT, with or without sulky face.

  • elzatelzabelz

OUT- the neon is hot. Everything else is…not. Cropped top-hello, circa 1990. And no, I can’t get over her terrible make-up, hair, or expressionless face. Blergh.

  • Twinzilla

Out.  I do not get her.  At all.

  • I love this!In, in, in!

  • formerlyAnon

IN. There are a lot of technical fails (those pocket flaps, they cause physical pain!), but overall impression is not just fairly good, it’s LIGHT YEARS ahead of where she usually registers on the Judge-O-Meter.

  • Kayceed

In. I kind of dig it.

  • Out. While the shape of the pants is interesting, the way they fit around her hips just looks like they don’t actually fit.  The shoes could be good, but they are kind of out of left field with this look.  If she looked polished, maybe this would work, but no, she apparently still hasn’t gotten around to owning a hairbrush.

  • drdirection

Someone else wore those shoes in a recent post.  Who was it?

  • PaulaBerman

Those pants fill awfully. She has polterwang. OUT.

  • Warrior89

I like the neon bracelet.  That’s it.  The shirt is beyond awful.  So very very OUT.

  • Haley Buchanan

I like some of the ideas here, but nothing fits quite right.  OUT.

  • IN but just barely. I like it except for the shoes. There’s something weird about them.

  • malvernite

IN. she’s young, and looks it. and comfortable too, not like those other times when she looks like she’s wearing designer’s clothes on sufferance.

  • JenXer

out, but i think the neon accessories are very “her”

  • CatherineRhodes

  • estella_nyc

Best she’s looked in a long time.  In!

  • NurseEllen

I can’t get behind this, at all.  OUT.

  • calimon

    OUT on all accounts!

  • unbornfawn

  • OUT! sloppy and unflattering, those side pocket things don’t slenderize either, and she’s a slender girl.the pants seem so heavy with that tiny top– low rise isn’t good, but these seem too high rise. the shoes are to die but go with a diff ensemble- i’m sure this look is better in person- but at least her face isn’t gray this time — just the pants are.

  • Susan Crawford

There are a few things I like about this outfit and accessories. The pants are really excellent, love the bracelets, love the color of the shoes. BUT: the cropped top looks as though it was made from a pillowcase; the shoe design looks both silly and painful, and once again, Ms. Stewart needs to figure out how to stand up straight and not tilt over to one side like some kind of wind-tossed, depressed forest sylph with self-esteem issues.

    So – OUT.

  • demidaemon

    OUT. This is hideous.

  • OUT. Love the pop of yellow but the proportions here are all off.

  • Marian Humin

    In. I like it all.

  • lesmaha

Out on the basis outlined above–sloppy and ill-fitting. Reminds me of me at 14. And I did not have a stylist!!

  • The pants don’t fit her well. It appears that her crutch is sucking the fabrics in.

  • She’s slouching in a crop top. That’s an automatic OUT.

  • Laylalola

  • Alisa Rivera

This shouldn’t work but for some reason I like it anyway. IN.

  • Zippypie

I actually am loving the shoes and the accessories.  Those pants bulging out at the hips looking oh so late 70’s unflattering with that crop top – not groovin on those at all.  But holy shit!  Kristen Stewart SMILING in a photograph?  Saints preserve us!

  • in i loooooooooooove this look

  • slightlybitterkitten

  • LOVE those pants.

  • Lisa_Cop

The pants don’t fit well and don’t like the crop top but love the hair, makeup and positive attitude (finally a smile). And personally I think the shoes are kinda cool. IN.

  • m0r0

IN. Think she looks fab and at home.

  • Samantha Irene

Out – looks like something you have while you’re trying to work out the fit before you turn it into a real garment or even perhaps before you turn it into a proper toile

  • FlamingJune1967

out.  But I think her hair and make-up look great.

  • I’m gonna go with out on this one.

  • lrhoff

Yuck, yuck, yuck.  Get a clue, little girl.  You always look like you’re hung over…..perhaps she is, which would explain everything!

  • out

  • I LOVE those shoes, and I love the pops of neon yellow. I dunno, it might not be flattering, but it’s a cool outfit, the kind I would like to wear even if I wouldn’t look nearly as good as Stewart.

  • ChristySchiff

I like her better in pants.  The super short mini dresses, or the long gowns just don’t read right on her.  She should aim for “bad-ass” more often, and this, while not exactly bad-ass, is closer.

  • Those shoes could never be in. The rest is cute.

  • RzYoung

IN, I like it, love the pops of neon and she’s slim enough and young enough to pull off those crazy proportions

  • fursa_saida

I think y’all are crazy. Those are Satan’s pants. I am generally down with creatively draped pants and whatnot, but I just don’t see how this design is going to fall right on ANYONE.

I was really into the shoes until I realized the non-neon parts were transparent and not just beige.

  • IN. She looks kinda fierce. And this *is* she glowing with happiness. One more drop of happy and her head would blow up from strain.

  • DaveUWSNYC

    o to the ut

  • jw_ny

pants are a mess.  ugly shoes, but I like that she tried to have some fun and go bold there.

  • sherrietee

Horrid.  And from a distance, she looks like she’s wearing reinforced toe pantyhose.  Those shoes are beyond unfortunate.

  • saanrio

OUT.  Ew.  Just ew.  All of it — hair, makeup, clothes, shoes, jewelry.  Go home and start over.

  • Out, out, out!

  • jjfg

  • Larkin21

Surprisingly, this is working for me. IN.

  • Larkin21

Surprisingly, this is working for me. IN.

  • OUT.  That is flat out sloppy, including her bed head.  Plus, her shoes have clear plastic, that warrants an out on it’s own.

  • NCDFan

I can’t decide whether this should be in or out but it just screams “Dressed Without Assistance!”

  • Jessica O’Connell

So very OUT… casual is one thing. A frumpy looking crop top is another thing entirely.

  • ballerinawithagun

Out, but I love the shoes.

  • Diego!

She is smiling and showing her teeth!!! *Faint*

  • Jennifer Hofstetter

Sloppy and ill fitting. Lady pants should never direct your eye to the lady parts in such an unflattering way. Is she planning to hide a loaf of bread in there later?

  • LOOK! she can smile!

  • Aly Light

I actually think this is one of the best outfits I’ve ever seen her wear… IN, and don’t hate me for it.

  • JimMcC

Is it too late to vote? Cause I give this an IN. I don’t even really know why. It just looks…right. And I’ve seen those shoes before and thought they were the most hateful things on earth, but here I somehow actually like them.

  • ChaquitaPhilly

  • out. ew. ewewew. pretty much all of it. I think the pieces could have worked well on their own but together? I cringed.

  • Late to the party, but those shoes look like they’re from the same sad imaginary shoe store that Karen Gillan’s weird neon sandals came from.

INbut.  i like the different elements of the look & the fact that it’s very Bananarama.  the pants look bulky & weird a bit, though, around the hips & it’s all kinds of distracting.  i think they just don’t fit her.  also, a little Moroccan hair oil would go a long way with this girl.

She’s looking very pretty, and I like the bracelets.  I just think the top and bottom are too cheapy looking. Hate the shoes.

  • HobbitGirl

Out. The midriff thing is just awful, as are the shoes. And would it kill the girl to crack a smile?! She’s richer than sin.

  • out. C’mon

  • Has there ever NOT been a time when a KStew In or Out post has been out?

No exception here, yet again. Ugh. The look on her face, the horrible hair, the outfit. It’s all bad.

Ya’ll only like pants on the RC when it’s SWINTON, or ERW, or someone actually…talented. 😛

  • out.  Agree about the shoes, the shirt… oh, everything.

  • mmc

    Out.  No question about it.

  • mozzer0906

OUT.  The shoes alone are an out, but the fit that makes her look like an amazon certainly isn’t helping either.

  • Saw her on Graham Norton recently and even in person she is a sour-faced pain in the ass.  Don’t like this outfit either.

Out.  I would send my daughter back to her room, at the least to change her shoes.

  • TieDye64

OUT. Only the pants (almost) work for me, but certainly not what she did with them or how they look with the cropped top. Or anything else. And those shoes? I really loathe them and would like to see them burned. And banned.

Out! I totally agree that the blouse is just terrible, and the cuffed pants look sloppy (I won’t mention the face), and her hair looks unwashed. I like the shoes though, only.

  • jcolli69

Dear lord, how can she look in a mirror and think this is OK?!?!?! She needs to fire whoever did this to her.

  • Awful, sloppy, half-assed, those shoes need to die an ignominious death.

  • I hate neon.

  • She’s very shiny. It almost looks good, but I kind of hate everything about it. How does that happen? Out.

  • mommyca

    IN… and I love the shoes….

  • DebbieLovesShoes

Sorry, for the first time EVER, I disagree — at least on the shoes.  Must.Have.  I believe I just has a shoe-gasm.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

no.  what the HELL are those shoes?

  • Sophie Collier

IN.  Strangely enough, on a young woman with a perfect body, it works.  I like it.

  • golspie

Out – she looks ridiculous! And her refusal to ‘wear’ any outfit she’s given or lent never helps.

  • blondie65

Out. That top with those pants. No.  And the shoes hurt my eyes.

  • I just felt a need to add this: I am a film journalist currently at Cannes, I was at the press conference for “On the Road” yesterday, and Stewart made a wonderful impression on all of us. She came off as talkative and engaging, speaking at length and with emotion about a role which she had obviously thought a lot about. Her openness was all the more impressive considering what circus show she has been living for the past couple of years.

However. Out. Should have worn a different top and while putting on a striking pair of shoes was the way to go, those just aren’t very pretty.

I love that first shot of her.  She looks chic as hell and for once her expression doesn’t say “I’d like to go slit my wrists” (although it might be saying “I could use a pee break”).  She’s finally figuring out what she’s comfortable wearing.
