IN or OUT: Kristen Stewart in Stella McCartney

Posted on May 30, 2012

Sassy’s not normally within K Stew’s wheelhouse, nor is it a word we word normally associate with her, but DAMN…

Kristen Stewart attends screening of “Snow White and the Huntsman” in Los Angeles in head-to-toe Stella McCartney.

Stella McCartney Fall 2012 Collection

Stella McCartney Fall 2012 Collection

… that is SASSY. We don’t love it unequivocally, though. Never did like the shape of those pumps. They look awkward to us. And the whole look is just a bit to self-consciously “business on the top, party on the bottom.” Some love the buttoned up collar and some don’t. Some can work it and some can’t. We just can’t shake the feeling she’d look better is she undid a button or two on the blouse. It’s a cute look – and definitely an IN for us – but we’re not entirely in love with it.

    Schoolgirl-gone-bad realness.  IN.

    • Jill_3

       So agree. IN.

    •  IN because of your comment!

    • fungstyle

truth! she should rock these types of separates looks more often, she looks so much more comfortable and happy than she ever does in a gown.

  • Beardslee

Kristen Stewart and Stella McCartney are an automatic double whammy of NO.

    • Nearly spit my lunch out.

  • In.  In in.

  • gsk241

I think she looks cute – IN

  • I usually loathe her but this is qute. I’ll do her a solid. IN.

    • Kolo_Ol

same here.  I am inclined to give her an in even though I cannot stand her

    • Agreed – this is the best I’ve seen her, even though I hate the shoes.

      • snarkmeister

Agreed, best I’ve ever seen her look.  Apparently she looks pretty damn fab in those late-80s/early-90s “mod” looks we wore back in high school.  (I think the youngsters call it “goth” now.)  Apparently she was made for the vampire genre…just not the sparkly vampire genre.  It’s like she stepped out of an Anne Rice book, but slightly updated for a modern twist.

    • Agreed – this is the best I’ve seen her, even though I hate the shoes.

  • I also find the fact that she actually got her hair and makeup done quite exciting.

    • Agreed.  It seems like her hair has been better in the past few photos.  Maybe the constant comments that she looks like a drowned rat got to her.

      • j_anson

She is… what… early twenties? Maybe she’s just hit the end of that particular phase of self-presentation. Thank god if so.

  • In for a change. Really in.

  • I’m not a fan of KStew, but this is an IN for me without question. She looks as if she’s actually comfortable in her body and the style.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

She looks more at ease in this then in the more formal looks.  It’s not necessarily a style home run, but it’s close.

  • I’m not sold either TLo, hmm…

  • Awwww. IN!

  • Out. The shoes are hiddy and she’s too buttoned up. If only she’d smile.

    •  But she DID!  Check out pic# 3!  Smiling KStew!

      • lovelyivy

Seriously- she should be careful with that. Might pull a muscle…

        • Really. I’m just thrilled to see it happen. She has a lovely smile, one wonders why it is so rarely seen.

      •  A smile or an accidental opening of the jaw bone?

  • OUT. I’m afraid she’s always going to be out for me until she learns to be a bit less awkward in whatever she’s wearing.

  • It’s IN! She looks age appropriate, cute and confortable, yet glam enough for an event.

  • In_Stitches

I can’t help but shake the feeling that she’s a bow-tie away from Zatanna territory, but that’s pretty fabulous, no?  IN.

  • Is it me or is she coming to terms with dressing herself (or having stylists do)? It’s not perfect but she’s making it work and that’s miles from her “dresses with converse” days. She found a way to keep it a bit rock n’ roll without ruining it.

  • IN.  With the caveat that I think a more colorful shoe would have been killa.

  • MarissaLG

OUT. I don’t like what that jacket is doing to her figure, and those shoes are blehh.

    • mountainFashionista

Yep, even though her legs look a mile long in the skirt (which I actually love), the overall effect is stumpy. I blame the jacket.  Out.

      • Spicytomato1

I blame the jacket, too, too boxy. But the skirt and top are cute, combined with stunning hair and makeup. I gotta go with IN.

  • Seriously, would it kill a girl to not looked stoned and smile?!

    • mmc

I was born with that face!  If I’m not grinning, I look pissed off.

Color me self-conscious about the K Stewart comments!

      • Isy

Me too. These, “god she needs to smile” give me a special irritation. My neutral face apparently looks like I’m about to cut a bitch and only people who know me know I’m not pissed off. Everyone else? “Cheer up! It’s not that bad!” Which only serves to make me pissed for real.

        • j_anson

I feel that, because I’m the same way, although I think the TLo dictum on this is that people who don’t always look camera-friendly but have lives that put them on the red carpet a lot need to find a camera-friendly face and lock it in. Not that she’s, like, a BAD PERSON if she doesn’t, but the inevitable result is going to be that people think she’s being bitchy. I mean, she acts for a living, so picking an occasion-appropriate face and using it should be within her skill set…

However, if you haven’t run across the interview in which Jeremy Renner talks about the same problem, you should google “Jeremy Renner” and “resting face”.

          • Isy

Yep. Thing is, guys don’t get bothered for that shit in general. Someone he knows might poke fun at it, but I can almost guarantee he isn’t assaulted online or accosted by strangers in the street telling him to cheer up. My boyfriend has the same issue as we do… at worst, the bartender might make his drink stronger than normal and make a passing comment about it, but never some random a-hole telling him to change the configuration of muscles in his face.

That said, Mr Renner’s resting face is pretty damn hilarious. Thank you for that!

        • NC_Meg

Same here. My neutral face is very depressed looking. I’m not depressed, I’m just hanging out, ok?

        • Melissa Brogan

I’m assuming you’re not a celeb poledancing for your latest flick. That’s the difference. If someone paid you big bucks to smile pretty for your new movie, you should smile pretty. If not, feel free to do whatever you like with your expression.

          • Isy

No, it’s not the difference. I see lots of smiling in this post, and in pretty much every post, she just doesn’t look “happy enough” for some people to justify her millions, never mind that she spent months working on the movie. When she’s not smiling, she looks pissed. When she is smiling, it’s still somehow read as pissed. People need to get over it. I rarely see Johnny Depp crack a grin onthe RC, yet none of his posts are riddled with the types of comments this girl gets. Women are supposed to look happy. Men can look however they look without comment.

  • I’m goin’ with IN.  She looks smartly put together, comfortable, and stylishly sexy.  My only issue is the sleeve length.  I know its deliberate, but I hate sleeves that partially cover the hands. It makes using your hands for anything whatever rather awkward.

    • raininmai

She doesn’t really need her hands.  She has “people” for that.

  • suzq

In.  Finally, a Stella McCartney garment I can abide.

  • I wish the jacket were shorter, and the blouse fit better around the waist.  I love the skirt, but you can’t see it.  OUT

  • BazoDee

OUT -the individual pieces are better than the sum. Some jewelry would have helped. I don’t like the line of the jacket with the line of the skirt. It doesn’t seem seasonally appropriate. Her make-up looks lovely though.

    • kimmeister

This, exactly.  I am coveting that jacket though.

      • BazoDee

You take the jacket – I want the skirt!

  • phrenk

IN, I love it!  I could do with different shoes, but otherwise I have no complaints.

  • annie_wonder

Out – that is one bizarro outfit which requires a whole lot of ‘tude to pull off, of which she is sorely lacking. And those shoes are turning my stomach – they look like rubber heels from a distance. Shudder.

On the plus side, her make-up is lovely and that skirt would be super cute with something else.

  • StrandedFashionista

It’s not really working for me. I can see where she was going with it… but it fell apart in the details. OUT for me.

  • regina arthur

    In!  Very cute

  • RzYoung

IN I really like this look on her, it suits her.

    • girliecue

  • Melissa Brogan

IN… in all but the one pic of almost-kinda-sorta smiling she’s still looking too pissed off and she’s still slouchy, but her outfit is pretty cute and she’s making it mostly work for her.

  • IN. It’d definitely look better with some buttons undone (maybe her normal cleavage-licious neckline) but it’s cute, and props for trying something different.

  • Whatevs. Like all the elements, but together, yawn. OUT

  • reddhouston

In..I like it and think it’s “sassy” too.

  • Reneesance

An IN!  She looks cute and happy with her outfit.  Only quibble is maybe not a double breasted jacket for a look like this.  Something a little more nipped in at the waist prehaps?

  • IN. She looks a million times more comfortable in this than in the Reem Acra gown from the Whiteboard yesterday. Very cute and very KStew.

  • Love the shirt as is but a more killer jacket was needed… but I’ll go with In cause she finally seems to be finding what works for her, not a scowl in sight

  • butterflysunita

IN.  Has she gotten a new stylist?  And a new makeup artist?  And bought a hairbrush?  Whatever she’s done, she looks so much better in these last couple of posts.

IN! Hate the hair (those two pieces taken down from the updo gross me out) but the outfit is CHIC and she actually looks somewhat at ease. Usually she looks like someone forced her into her outfit and you can almost visualize the disgust with which she gets home, casts off her thousand dollar dress, and changes into sweats. Or maybe that’s just how her face always looks?

  • Lizzyisi

  • Judy_S

IN. She looks happy and healthy. For some reason I don’t hate those shoes.

  • RebeccaKW

I rarely have anything nice to say about her clothing.  But.  It’s good to see the hair washed and fixed.  She looks as though she’s had a nap and is in fresh makeup.  I kind of like the look…I do hate the shoes.  I don’t mind the buttoned up collar on her.  I’m not sure I like that the jacket reaches right to the flare of the skirt…I feel it should hit higher on her waist.  But no side boob, she looks comfortable and clean and rested.  So, In.

  • siriuslover

Too much Vampire Lestat. Whatevs.. out (though I grudgingly admit she looks cute)

  • CatherineRhodes

  • It’s better than most Stella designs, and KStew looks better than she normally does even if she cannot pose for her life. IN

  • IN.  Shoes were a lazy choice but everything else is so age-appropriately Rebellious Junior Equestrienne that I have to give it a yes.

  • LIz Keeney

I like the idea of it (and I actually like her hair and makeup for once), but as always with this one, I hate the execution.

  • estella_nyc

OUT – there’s something off about the proportions up top, and I hate the buttoned up collar.  I do appreciate the hair and the red nails, though.

  • Judy_J

I give her an IN for her smile alone.  She always looks like she just ate a persimmon or smelled something bad.  The smile is a nice and welcome change of pace for her.  I like that jacket, hate the shoes.

  • The close-up of the shoes just accentuates the scrawniness of those legs. Very Minnie Mouse. Otherwise I like the look.

  • kelsita421

    Don’t love, but IN.

  • calimon

OUT. Top half and bottom half are too distinctly conflicting personalities. From the waist down she looks like sassy highschool rebel,  waist up–like strict principle who is going to have to discipline her other half.

  • The shoes look like small rowboats, but still IN.

  • janetjb

In, but it looks so heavy for Spring.

  • YayaGurl

She is a scroll up fug for me.  I see a cute outfit, then I get to her farbissina punim and I’m like “no.”

  • understateddiva

In, though I’m not convinced she’s not about to rip off the jacket and do a strip tease to “Man, I feel like a woman.”

  • UrsNY

IN. I salute her for being under 30 and managing to NOT dress like some twee county fair hostess.

  • mjude

  • unbornfawn

IN, the OUTFIT is adorable, she’s still a vapid twit.

  • Beth G

  • HomeOfficeGirl

The texture of the skirt is really cool – I think I’d prefer to see her in the full outfit instead of the white shirt and jacket – but it’s definitely Kristin’s style and she looks good in it.  The shoes are random… don’t love.

  • Lina_bee

IN.  Not perfect, but striking and kind of fun! Also, it’s a Stella I don’t unequivocally hate — possibly because they pulled together separates that weren’t all shown together.

  • ccm800

In – School girl -last day.

  • IN. She has the ability to rock a bit of androgyny/men’s tailoring, but pairing it with a sassy skirt SO WORKS on her. Plus her makeup is flawless and I like the bit messy hair with it. Good job.

  • DinaSews

IN.  It’s not great but her hair is clean and styled and her makeup looks good too which pushes it over for me.

  • colleenjanel

Too stuffy up top for me. Lose the jacket, chop the sleeves off the blouse, and add some long necklaces.

  • CC06

She looks put together and comfortable in her own skin for a change.  IN, undoubtedly.

  • muzan-e

High necklines and tailored coats are amazing on her. The hair is perfection.  This is sleek and sharp and I will be nursing my girl-crush all. day. long.  *g*

  • Snailstsichr

Yowsers – this is her look. If this is a new stylist, bravo!

  • twocee

In.  Is it me, or is she starting to pull it together more often lately?

  • LovelyIdio

Really soft things don’t suit her well, so I think this really works since there’s an edginess to it. IN.

  • Bozhi

She looks great.  In, I even like those shoes.

  • marilyn

Out.  Hate Stella McCartney and there is nothing here to change my mind.

  • marilyn

Out.  Hate Stella McCartney and there is nothing here to change my mind.

  • IN. It’s chic and damn, she’s smiling on that second picture.

  • IN. It’s chic and damn, she’s smiling on that second picture.

  • Joyce VG

This pains me but IN. (very sassssy!)

  • MmmmmmmmK

The shoes kill it for me. Cover up the feet and look how much better that looks.

  • TheOriginalLulu

Those shoes…I must have them…I must have those shoes.

  • In!

  • In-I wish the blazer were more fitted or something.

  • Cathy S

    Very cute. In.

  • OUT. I only like the skirt.  The jacket makes it too serious.  And the damn Stella fug shoes…the platform looks like the soles of tennis shoes, and then the heel is croc.  It’s just odd looking.

    • sherrietee

I dunno.  I know she at least used to wear a lot of Chuck Taylors from Converse and these seem like a call back to that, which is why I kinda like em.

  • AlexisPayne

    Love this look, IN.

  • Sara__B

IN. Don’t like the shoes much, but she looks quite presentable and almost pleasant.

  • Love it. She also looks happy and confident in it. I’d love to see her wear more menswear-looking getups now that she’s out of the Twilight tractor beam. IN.

  • TheOriginalLulu

I think she looks really pretty, but I agree that she didn’t have to be so buttoned up on top.

  • In but I wish she wasn’t wearing the jacket.

  • In but I wish she wasn’t wearing the jacket.

  • MilaXX

IN. Someone is getting better at dressing her. It’s not perfect, but lately the clothes look more like something she would actually wear and she looks less more comfortable in them.

  • I never like the way she dresses and now that I see something good I can’t help but declare it an IN

  • bittykitty

wow, a stella mccartney ensemble that is flattering to the wearer and that i actually like, i think my head just exploded

  • sherrietee

In.  And I’m flabbergasted that I finally like a McCartney outfit.

  • Courtney Brown

    IN looks good

  • Kate4queen

IN, I can’t quite believe I’m saying that but she looks great 🙂

  • I love contrasting looks. Between the red dress and this look, K Stew is actually starting to look like a notable young woman, in stead of a pouty emollionaire (emo-millionaire…I just made it up).

    She’s in!

  • DominoEstella

IN.  She looks really good in this get up and really comfortable and confident.

  • IN and I’m so loving the bitchface she’s giving in the first pic.

  • hillmad

One of her best looks ever (I know, not saying much, but still…) Can’t stand 99% of Stella’s designs and Kristen’s acting, but they seem to bring out the best … or at least the better … in each other! Her makeup looks gorgeous, too!

  • IN. Finally, she seems to have found a style that suits her and makes her feel femenine while looking badass.

  • in!

  • lordandtaylor

So in. Please send a pic of this outfit to Miley and Brits. This would also be business attire for JLO…but skirt would have to be soooooooooo much shorter.

  • halleyg

I dislike this so much I am sorry I looked at this post, and that is a first for me. Hiddy.

  • Jennifer Hofstetter

Definitely agree on the blouse, but it’s still an IN for me.

  • Agree that an button undone would have made the look a skosh better, but still an IN from me! The girl actually looks comfortable in this!

(P.S. Saw her on Jimmy Kimmel last night, and she is an AWKWARD interviewee. Poor thing.)

  • In, except for those shoes (woof). I dare say I even like the buttoned-up neckline here. This is a fun outfit; I wish I had something like it, actually!

  • Love it from the waist down.

  • fringebenefit

OUT. Shoes are hideous. She looks like an awkward teenager at a job interview.

  • judith traherne

Out. Separates to a premiere? Way too casual. Love the shoes, sharp!

  • DUDE, WERQ, K-Stew!

  • DUDE, WERQ, K-Stew!

  • IN. She looks hip and actually comfortable in what she’s wearing.

  • up with pod people

  • In, except those toes remind me of irons.

  • piecesofconfetti

    IN times a hundred!

  • DaveUWSNYC

Hesitating…but she put the effort in…IN

  • raininmai

I like everything but the shoes. IN

  • Kriky

IN, but for the record I feel weird about it.

  • sashaychante

OUT Those shoes are absolutely hideous.  I don’t get Stella McCartney at all!  Her designs are exceptionally fugly.  Irrational dislike of Ms. Stewart on my part isn’t helping either.

  • guest2visits

Agree. I think she’s very pretty and these are nice pieces that would look better separately. Styles clashing. I don’t love it.

  • Knightley

I don’t like Kristen Stewart or Stella McCartney and yet I think this might actually be the first time I’ve liked both.  She looks great.  IN.

  • Her makeup is fantastic.

  • IN. I’d prefer pants with this but her hair and makeup WORK for me big time. Soo pretty.

  • So close. Those shoes are killing me. The buttoned up look suits her better than the strapless gowns though. But isn’t it summer on her home planet? Isn’t it like 90 degrees out? She’d have looked better in the original Stella top with that skirt. OUT.

  • So much IN!  Wow, I can’t believe I’m voting her an in.

  • Isy

IN. Makeup is fab and so’s the hair. Those shoes look really painful, however.

  • PeggyOC

Out, but not for all the reasons she’s usually an out.  The hair is great, the makeup is great and for once she’s standing up straight and not looking sullen.  But the blouse.  I just can’t. It’s hideous.

  • I would have suggested the outfit without the jacket, but I think it’s good overall and her makeup looks really nice…IN.

  • Jessica O’Connell

Begrudgingly, I’ll give her an IN. I like the sassy look and actually like the shoes. She really needs to fire her hair stylist though, because that shit is always a mess.

  • Melanie Harrison

IN. Don’t love the shoes, but the rest of the outfit, combined with very good hair and make up really pull this look together for me.

  • momato

Outfit looks mismatched and awkward to me.  Doesn’t help that she looks so awkward about wearing it.  Out.

  • Miriam Kumari

Out. I think this would have looked better with cropped trousers. The shoes are great, but that close up of her leg is really unappealing.

  • rissa42210

She looks adorable.  The A+ job on her makeup helps the B- job on her hair (little pieces in the front?!).  I agree with the discordance between the top and the bottom, but she looks cute.  I would have liked it better with pants and a little more androgyny.  IN.

  • She’s so pretty when she smiles – IN

  • BrooklynBomber

Hhmmmm…. leaning towards out. I think the whole thing with her is that her vibe is jeans ‘n sneakers, scrappy tomboy down the street. And for some reason the oxymoron of putting her in grown up super expensive clothes appeals to people. The power of opposites, I guess. But I think this look would be better if her hair was down and she wasn’t wearing those shoes.

  • lifetime_student

She looks adorable, she is even smiling in one shot. Also, she should wear her hair up more often. I had really never noticed how beautiful her eyes are because I was always so distracted by her normal unbrushed mess.

  • j_anson

Hmm. I think she should have gone with a skirt that matched the rest of the outfit (in tone, not fabric – a full-on business suit would be weird), rather than trying to do the sly “I’m sneaking in a kind-of-punk-skirt, here!” route, because I don’t think the awesomeness of the skirt (though real) is actually adding to the awesomeness of the outfit. Still, she looks like she’s actually trying, and I happen to like the buttoned-up collar, so… in.

  • You’re right, one or two buttons undone would’ve made it, but still IN.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

IN, she looks great! That hairstyle is working for her, but I wish there was just the teensiest bit of color somewhere, shoes or jewelry (and I’d love to see her in the runway look with the blue stripe).

  • IN x1,000. I love it – so sassy and different!

  • Lilak

Good enough . . . Which means “Just over the line into IN,” I guess.
(Trying to discipline myself not to quibble something out of a legitimate IN these days — reminding myself that the bar for IN isn’t necessarily as high as for Almost-WERQ.  We do get het up around here, don’t we?  Hee.)

  • giiiirrrr

Perfection from the waist up.  Love the buttoned high collar on her.  The rest is isn’t bad either.  A solid IN.

  • sleepycat

    Awesome, IN

  • holdmewhileimnaked

it’s an ancient–pre-precambrian, even–punkrocker look–something she often tries for & occasionally hits–but here it’s a bit off. nevertheless, it isnt bad–a bit of neck decor mightve even put it over onto the good side–either that or a lower collar–or a tie [but that would hit the punkrocker target a little too directly]–nevertheless redux, & as ever for me, this is better than it is worse, so put me down in the yes column.

    edited to add:
    ps. i hate the shoes.

  • Emily Guillory

Oh, that’s a IN.  She looks great.

  • TSkot

She looks ridiculous.  Definitely an OUT

  • Aly Light

Stop trying to make me like her. I’m assuming the only reason y’all cut her a break is because you were never actually subjected to that Twilight shit. OUT.

  • jw_ny

IN, but I really only like the skirt, and her makeup is perfect.  I think she looks especially pretty in the ‘I’m talking on my pretend cell phone’ pic above.  😉  The outfit on a whole is rather a snore, but not bad enough to warrant an OUT.

  • Qitkat

    IN. Really a fantastic skirt.

  • In.  She looks very put together.  Love it.

  • lesmaha

I don’t like the jacket with the skirt. OUT.

  • demidaemon

IN. Best she’s ever looked, in my opinion.

  • In, these more casual looks suit her better than gowns usually seem to.

  • OUT – looks like a costume for a video mashup of Addicted to Love and…Baby One More Time?

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Generally can’t stand her, but I’ll give her a begrudging IN.  That “smile” in the third pic sure looks forced.  And she looks a little wobbly on the heels.  But still, it is a cute outfit, even if it is Stella McCartney.  OTOH, her legs desperately need some spray on tan or something.  White as a sheet!  LOVE the jacket.

  • KathKo

Wow ! Am I dreaming or Stella did finally manage to throw an actually nice outfit to the right girl  ?
She looks fantastic, and I don’t like Kristen anymore than Stella.

  • CassieLee22

    IN….. but just barely

  • In, but agree with the buttons undone suggestion!

  • In. Also, she’s growing on me with the interviews she’s doing about the new movie. I begin to suspect that most of her “sullen” reputation came from absolutely hating Twilight. And I can’t blame her for that.

  • ThaliaMenninger

I think she isn’t pretty at all, and really mostly fug. And I hate those shoes. That said, she’s still IN in this outfit. I’m a ho for black and white.

  • leftcoastpickle

Out. Hate the entire bottom half.

  • Monabel

I like the neckline buttoned up because the line is clear. It could be softened with some color or ornament on the jacket. (how about a smashing antique brooch?)

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

She needs that jacket to be leather.   And blue.   And if she’s going to have hair that looks like she has been rolling around in the back of a taxi with a guy from the band, she’d also want to unbutton those buttons on that blouse.  Out.

  • IN. I hate to say it because I hate her, but definitely an IN.

  • dramamajor

    Sassy indeed! IN!

  • dramamajor

    Sassy indeed! IN!

  • In! Shoes are amazing, artsy but not tacky.

  • In! Shoes are amazing, artsy but not tacky.

  • benjamin478

OUT. not a fan of the hair or the makeup and the top half of the outfit does not go with the bottom half to my eyes.

  • Yeah, I agree on the shoes and unbuttoning a button. I give it an “in” though, because it’s overall cute, and she smiled in some of the pics, which does a world of wonder for her.

  • bailey debruynkops

my strong disliking of her bratty attitude = OUT

  • Sassy indeed! In!

  • Samantha Irene

I would give it an in if she undid a few buttons and the black of the jacket matched her skirts black (as opposed to the buttons matching, but not the fabric) – but as is – must give an OUT – but do love the skirt, and like the idea of the outfit.

  • This is working much better for her than some froufrou gown. IN!

  • MzzPants

    It’s polished rock-n-roll.  IN.

  • golspie

She always looks happier when she’s not exposing any flesh. I think this look works for her.

  • hmariec19

Wow, something by Stella McCartney that I don’t hate on sight.  This actually works on her.  IN.

  • OUT.  Reminds me of my favorite line from “Best in Show” – ‘She looks like a cocktail waitress on an oil rig.’

  • Jessi03

IN!  Way to go, Princess Smiley Sunshine.

  • She’s making Stella McCartney look good.  IN. Hell, I’ll even give her a WERQ. I didn’t know she had it in her.

  • Love this, definitely her style… IN!

  • snarkykitten

she does the pseudo boy thing well

  • Maddie_Faddenoid

    Adorbsaballs. IN.

  • yep, IN.

  • IN. Love it. Adorable rocker equestrian. Plus, hair and makeup are cute and well-done for once.

  • She looks like she hates everyone that dare gaze upon her. A sneer and a bad attitude are never pretty.

  • Oh, what a great outfit. I don’t know if she carries it off as well as she could, but still – fabulous. Love that jacket and the high-buttoned blouse. Definitely IN.

  • Lisa

OUT.  Shoes are way too big, and that left-over 80s jacket doesn’t even fit her.

  • elzatelzabelz

OUT- there’s something off about it. The hem? Too much black? Eh.

  • rumcg66

IN. And K Stew usually annoys the shit out of me but she’s been forcing me to acknowledge her progress lately.

  • eight_of_nine

Girl looks great!  Maybe she should go with these uniform/menswear-inspired looks over gowns more often.

  • Jangle57

My first thought was the jacket is too long.  Then I saw the same picture on another web site that just showed the outfit from about the knees up and I liked it so much better in that shot, the jacket’s length didn’t seem too long.  But I’m still going to give it an OUT

  • lessax3

Without Patterson by her side she seems to be smiling more and looking better. Coincidence…

I guess we’ll see when the press/opening circus starts for the next installment of I was a teenage vampire bride starts again.

  • texashistorian

She’s IN because she looks good. I still hate grown women (she is a grown up, right?) in school girl outfits. I have a real visceral response to that.

  • this suits her; very IN.

  • Kim Pham

IN! I love the look and it’s the best that she’s ever looked in a while! She definitely looks less awkward than usual too~

  • altalinda

Out.  Though most of it is good, that short, flippy skirt pushes it over the edge to Out for me.

  • quiltrx

IN.  Really cute and fun, and suits her ‘tough chick’ personality.

  • AWS

I TOTALLY GET HER NOW!  She’s trying to hold in her farts!

  • SatelliteAlice

In.  She looks like she is ready to kick some ass…and learn something.

  • Kathryn Devlin

What? How on earth was Margulies an OUT?

  • samo_samo

In…but it looks like a fall outfit…something to be worn in September perhaps.

  • I think she looks great.

  • Louise Bryan

    In.  Whatevs….

  • In. I dislike her look a lot, this totally works for her.

  • Ksagun13

OUT.  I have an irrational (or is it rational?) hatred for her, so I cannot EVER give her an in.

Even if I didn’t I’d still give her an out. Very awkward looking.

  • SapphoPoet

  • Sweetvegan

    IN – she looks fantastic!

  • harleydear

IN. I’m going to go try to copy that shit on my $3 budget.

  • Kirsten Henry

    in love with this

  • Sophie Collier

Two halves of two nice ensembles.  Shame she didn’t just pick one and go with it.  The shoes, though, are just unattractive.

  • This is stylish, different, and bold. IN.

  • That jacket looks too big for her.

  • In. But I despite those shoes.

  • IN but I like it better on top than the bottom. Love the hair and make-up for once. Very sophisticated, unusual for her.

  • totally in, for the first shot, but her unfortunate expression that follows in the rest of the pictures makes me want to amend the IN to only-in-if-she-keeps-her-mouth-shut. that or put the outfit and hair on someone who can make this werq

  • NurseEllen

Cannot get with this look.  I don’t know if I hate Kristin or Stella worse.  Certainly they deserve each other.  O.U.T.

  • TieDye64

IN. Very cute, though I seriously dislike the shoes.

  • She is working hard to break away from the Twilight franchise, GOOD FOR YOU GIRL. IN.

  • frankystein123

OUT, she just looks so awkward.

  • Out. I’m having trouble breathing looking at her.

  • “After winning the Fire Island show jumping contest, KStew quickly ditched her jodhpurs for a sassy skirt ready for a quickie and Converse’s latest foray into high heel design.”

  • I wish she would just give up and come in jeans and sneakers. The only company that might make her the face of their brand is Pepperridge farm for their goldfish crackers and for that she doesn’t need to come in a dress.

  • carolynmo

In! I’m amazed that I like something by Stella, this is really good.

  • Aurumgirl

Those shoes look like Payless shoes. They are 100% plastic too, aren’t they?  and the platform isn’t really there, is it?

  • sweetlilvoice

In and I want to see that damn movie already.

  • That is almost precisely an outfit worn by Shannen Doherty in “Heathers”, minus the red scrunchie & red shoes.

  • AngelaGreen

IN.  Cutest she’s looked in forever.

  • I’m gonna say IN. But those shoes are the worst.

  • Lose the shoes, the jacket maybe a little shorter.  Otherwise she’s hot.

  • boomchicabowwow

    IN.  IN.  IN.  IN.

  • jessicasac

  • saanrio

I know I’m late, but whatever.  Hate the shoes, hate the shirt, that jacket looks way too big.  Overall, just not liking this.  This got voted “IN”?  Really?

  • letter_M

  • lilazander

IN, but the shoes are FUG.
