Cameron Diaz in Stella McCartney

Posted on May 23, 2012

Our blogsisters-in-bitchery will forever own the term “scrolldown fug,” and for coining it, we thank them.

Cameron, would you like to show the rest of the class what we’re talking about?

Cameron Diaz attends the UK Premiere of “What To Expect When You’re Expecting” in a Stella McCartney jumpsuit. Earrings by Kimberly McDonald. Clutch by Stella McCartney.

Kimberly McDonald Chalcedony and Diamond Earrings

Stella McCartney Handle Clutch

Seriously, girl. What the fuck. Who over the age of 16 thinks pants are supposed to do that? Are you so very busy that you can’t stand still for 5 minutes while some poor assistant pins up your hems? What makes this so frustrating is that this almost works. The hair and makeup look fabulous. Love the earrings and the bag. If those pants had been hemmed properly and she wore something a little less Payless-looking on her feet, this could have been a total knockout.

Come on now, Cam. All these years and you’re still getting the minor details wrong? Tsk.

  • “Payless-looking?” How can you even tell?

  • HomeOfficeGirl

Totally agree!!!  She’s serving it up!  And, then… she blows it.
She’s got her hair back to a nice place style wise and color…

  • AudreysMom

wait? Is that Cameron Diaz? I thought it was Ellen Barkin.

  • mommyca

her toes don’t look good either…. some pedi is urgently needed….

    •  Her nails look fine, I don’t think a pedi can fix those toes…..

      • agree she doesnt have pretty toes–but no pedi needed, just  another pair of sandals that have  2 more stripes  that can hold her toes in places & keep them in better shapes.

        • Are those corns a result of wearing the wrong sized stilettos or just some women get them? I hope to not join that club…my feets aint the best, but 2 corns, one toe…yikes!

          • Nelliebelle1197

Yeah, did she not notice the corns? Shivers.

          • mountainFashionista

Maybe she’s trying to heal them, which is why she opted for the freeing aspect of the sandals…?

These toes also make me shudder.  Let them be a lesson to us all.

      • l3icest3r

Dang that girl has got some long toes. She could hold a pencil with those things.

  • It’s too bad that that beautiful ice cream outfit started to melt.

  • Best she’s looked in a while though.

  • muzan-e

But, but…  she’s wearing the Pantone Color Of The Year!!1!

    Sorry. *g*

  • Kate4queen

But isn’t that how Stella McCartney wears her pants too? 🙂

    • carolynmo

      Oh, snap!

  • WERQ from the waist up. Almost makes it worse. …

  • Lilyana_F

Oh, come on, why’d you have to ruin everything with the “can’t be bothered with hemming” and with the “shoes will be covered, no worries”, girl, that could have been a knockout…

    • bitchybitchybitchy

All Cameron needed was so simple-have the pants hemmed.  Is that asking too much?

  • I’m sorry, but what is happening on the toes of her left foot?

    • Fordzo

      I know. Are they warts?

    • MilaXX

       thems some serious corns

      • Cheri Lee

I didn’t want to say but I’m glad you did!

      • bluefish

A lifetime of wearing ridiculous shoes will do that to a girl.

        • formerlyAnon

           Or, even 10-15 years, sometimes.

    • Alex Apatoff

Oh my god. Nightmares. Why did you have to go and point that out??

    • LuisaNL

those are some scary toes, man.

she does look great until you get to the bottom of the outfit. Those earrings are to die for and the hair and make up look great.

  • Hell, it woulda been better if she had just cuffed the damned things.

  • Trisha26

Can anyone explain the appeal of jumpsuits? I can see wearing one on the Red Carpet for photos for an hour then changing. But in real life? Impractical doesn’t come close.

  • nycfan

but from the ankles up she looks great — lots of scrolling to get to the fug

  • Judy_J

There is no excuse for leaving the house with those unhemmed pants.  She should be ashamed of herself.

  • And she could really pull off wearing something like that on the red carpet, if those pants were the correct length and if she had one cute shoes. What’s showing of the shoes looks unappealing.

  • pattyw

She’s like, 11 feet tall. Before heels. How can pants possibly be too long on her? Are these leftovers from PR’s stiltwalker challenge?

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

that was the bitchiest thing i have heard in a while.  can i be your gay?

    • kimmeister

I was thinking the same thing!  Who the heck could possibly wear them, unaltered!

    • oohsparkley!

That’s what I was thinking!  Bad stylist!  Don’t they have hem tape for emergencies?  I just bought some.

  • hughman

Her feet are the new Madonna’s hands.

  • la_lala

She looks like she had a bit of (very well-done) work done, and I applaud her for it. She looks better than she has in ages.

  • mom2ab

Oh but for a hem and a trip to a podiatrist this would have been very nice…

  • Terence Ng

Ugh, she was rocking so much Emma Frost realness here until I scrolled down. And then i thought I was safe because I could see everything but her feet. I was so, so wrong. Cameron, why? I LOVED you…

  • 3boysful

    Covet the earrings.

Also covet the flat stomach and perky girls.

    • Carlodog

       The NEW perky girls.

      • mountainFashionista

I was wondering.  She didn’t used to be that stacked, did she?  And it’s not just a really great bra?

  • quiltrx

Can’t stand her, but from the waist up she looks pretty polished.  But the tree-trunk pants are severely wrong with those shoes.  And Cam, honey?  Some of us just have to admit that we really don’t have the feet for sandals.

  • Sara__B

She looks so good from the ankles up that perhaps she thought no one would notice that her long pants and strange toes. (I have strange toes, too, but I don’t call attention to them with bright red nail polish!)

    •  I am also of the strange-toed… and I would NOT draw attention to them with these shoes.

      • leftcoastpickle

I have awesome toes, but Cameron Diaz has me beat on all other body parts.

  • MilaXX

I appreciate a girl going for comfort every now and again. If the hem had been correct, I would have forgiven the shoes.

  • blumonky

Alas fellow fawns, that’s what happens to feet that have spent their grown up lives shoved into the pointy fronts of 6 inch heels. The girl can’t help it. Any more than Madonna can help the biological process called aging that has created her hands. Let’s keep our bitchery to the clothes shall we?

  • Lina_bee

I think Stella McCartney must hate women. No one looks good in her clothes — these hems would drag the floor even if SWINTON were wearing it. Who designs unwearable clothing??  But I agree that there was some serious stylist fail on the part of the hem. Pins, gaffer’s tape, something! That said, I’m really ready for people to stop dinging her for looking like she’s in her late 30s. Women in their late 30s are allowed to do that…even actresses.

  • crash1212

She finally gets the hair and make-up perfect! What a shame. I blame Rachel Zoe who espouses the theory that the longer the pants the longer the legs look…as if that’s what Cam needs. Ladies…HEM YOUR PANTS!

  • Way to fuck it up Cam.  The hair finally looks really good.  Slap a belt and a hem on that jumpsuit and I think I might have been shocked to like a Stella McCartney.  Makes millions, can’t afford a tailor.

    • Exactly!

    • cluecat

I love the hair.  It’s such a cute summer look, and so fresh and un-heavy.  I’m going to stick a fork in my eye if I see any more of those flat iron wave weaves!  (That means I will surely be sticking a fork in my eye.)

  • Pants_are_a_must

And now comes the 2948293479472th refrain of “seriously, Stella McCartney’s clothes are AWFUL, stop wearing them”.

Diaz, you should’ve known better. Rookie mistake, hit the showers.

  • That’s some Florida retiree shuffle going on south of the ankles.

  • Scarlet39

This is the best she’s looked from the neck up in a long time!

  • MzzPants

What a shame.  She’s flawless from the thighs up.

  • Anathema_Device

Love it from the waist up. I don’t like the full jumpsuit, even it were the proper length.

  • I wouldn’t like this even with a proper hem. But the earrings are great.

  • The length is bad enough, but it also looks like static cling in the pants.  I thought she looked great until I scrolled down.

  • Spicytomato1

Finally, her hair looks slightly less matronly. Especially in the last shot, she almost looks cute. I about lost my lunch at the end of the scrolldown, which is why I went immediately back up to the hair. Much better.

  • wow, very impressed that she has a flat belly like Mannequin! she looks Neat & great!

  • Kyle Crawford

WHY? for the love of all that is good in the Universe… WHY ?  How can you get it so so so right ( and in that first pic, she looks GREAT, and I am not a fan, at all ) and then…. the horror, …. the horror…….

    • Kyle Crawford

SECOND picture… I was overcome by momentary blindness…..

  • frannyprof

    From the neck up, gorgeous.

  • I think it’s kind of silly to blame the fit on Cameron Diaz shouldn’t we hold the designer responsible isn’t it ultimately her image thats more on the line is a garment looks terrible. If a garment looks bad on a celebrity especially if its pants that are too  long  or other easy fixed fit issues dosen’t it reflect worse on the brand that is loaning the clothes then on the celbrity themselves. Especially since often they probably didn’t have time to go out on their own and get it tailored when really I dont think they should have to they are basically being used as a billboard but unlike how garments are altered for models or put on a model who looks better in it they are just left out to dry. I kind of think that a lot of times celebrities would be better saying screw to the PR people and investing some of their considerable wealth in clothes they love and fit them exactly right. I’m not exactly saying its hard to be a celebrity although like all things it’s perks come at a less readily noticeable price but I dont think they are really the best person to blame. I think designers and fashion PR people are more responsible. Wow that was kind of a rant but seriously I dont get why designers don’t care whether someone looks good when they step out promoting their garments, but maybe since they sell anyway they dont have to

    • Beardslee

I’ve never understood that either.  Actors have the reputation of being quite tiny so if they are selling your clothes, the samples made for tall models aren’t going to look right – and don’t you want your clothes to look right? And if not, WHY????

  • Belvane

She’s a slow learner. For the first 10+ years of her career she was the one you could always count on to look like she just rolled out of bed and threw on her gown. Now she seems to have bought a comb, at least. Maybe a full-length mirror will be next.

this hoe is the cure for insomnia!! yet u skip out on the bjork post from the whiteboard? i am weeping, yo

  • Scrolldown fug is exactly what happened when I saw this photo.

  • Was that a corn on her toe?  Fourth photo down, left foot, toe next to pinky.  O_O

    •  I think it was two corns on the one toe and one corn on the toe beside it.

      • Ogden1990

        But who’s counting?

  • kikisayshi

Yowza! I am loving the new vocab word, because it is SO true!!! I love love love the look from the knees up (although the entire pant could be fitted better, nevermind the “hem”). What the FUG?!

    • kikisayshi

Oh, and BTW, I now have a 2nd favorite fashion blog. Thanks TLo! 🙂

  • Zippypie

She’s chanelling Ellen Barkin.  I’m not a Cam fan, but I do have to say she looks better from the waist up than she has in a long time.  The pants are a disaster.

  • hmariec19

    “Seriously, girl. What the fuck.”

    Her makeup looks great though!

  • bluefish

She looks like she had too much to drink and decided none it mattered anyway.  Stella McCartney should do handbags.  That’s a good looking clutch.  It’s not just the Niagara Falls of the hems — the ass area is whack too.  Nice shoulders though.

  • guest2visits

I hate jumpsuits but have to say she looks pretty great; white seems to be her friend in most pics. The hems are so outrageously
long, don’t know how she’s walking.

  • turtleemily

It’s not flattering in the hips and butt, either. The bottom half looks like hospital scrubs.

  • Qitkat

I figure her suitcase full of shoes got lost somewhere over the Atlantic, so she welcomed the opportunity to hide her shame at having to go buy some cheap tourist sandals.

Girlfriend looks pretty cute otherwise. Unlike other *starlets*, she has even got the bazooms hoisted up in an appropriate manner.

  • Lisa

The top looks like it’s about to slide south too, so along with the WAY too long pants, you just sort of wanna give the whole thing a good hitch UPWARD!

  • Fantastic from the collar bones up.  The rest… not so much.

  • snich11

Shoot, she wouldn’t have even needed to hem them, just fold them under to an appropriate length. Would take all of about 60 seconds to do. With the hours she must have spent in hair and makeup, I just don’t get why someone wouldn’t have noticed how awful this looked and fixed it. Her ‘people’ are either clueless or just don’t give a damn…

  • The Princess Fiona version of her would be more attractive.

  • I do believe she invented the duck face. Look at that first shot! 12 year old girls keep trying to imitate that.

  • marilyn

This is the first Stella McCartney that is not half bad.  It is the pick of the litter.

  • jw_ny

Totally agree about hem & shoes…other than that, Cammie looks great.  🙂

  • SapphoPoet

I would really rock those earrings with my new pixie hairdo. 🙂

    • formerlyAnon

Work it while you got it! (ETA: Next time somebody asks if you need anything, see if you can persuade them that high-end earrings are EXACTLY what you need!)

  • ChelseaNH

Now I want to see her in a movie where Ellen Barkin plays her mother.

  • PrunellaV

I don’t even like her that much, but I almost cried when I got below her knees.

  • Her hair is starting to look better

  • texashistorian

The outfit is very nice, actually. Yes, the hem on the pants is too long and I wish she had worn sleeves (I just have a bias against tube tops), but she looks like summer and that’s nice.

And good for her that her hair grew out some! Didn’t she say on Kimmel (or Fallon) that she cried after her last hair cut? I remember when TLo pointed out how pissed she was about her hair, just from the way she was standing and grimacing for the cameras. We’ve all been there, Cameron.

  • Susan Crawford

Are there no full-length mirrors in Cannes? Are there no seamstresses in Cannes? Is there not a roll of fabric hemming tape in Cannes?

On the other hand, I would cut a bitch for the earrings. God, they’re gorgeous!

  • NurseEllen

    Those earrings……..sigh.  That outfit…….groan.

  • She once wore really fierce hot pink Casadei pumps. I think, those would have been a hit with this look and properly hemmed pants.

  • RzYoung

I really think Stella has lost the plot – she actually designs the hems like that I’m sure, I’ve seen her wearing her own suits and the pants do that at the hem!

  • Oh, yay! She has a broke-ass corny toe just like I do!  Her hair and makeup look the best they have in a while.

  • Two of my most irrational hates, together at last.

  • Candice Richardson

Next to Oprah….those are the ugliest celebrity feet ever! Ewwwwwww

  • nancylee61

That is what wearing pointy 5 inch heels does to your feet – bunion and corn city!! Yeech!! I would never go out with my feet looking like that!!
Diaz actually looks human here, which is an improvement. And I covet those earrings!! Gorgeous!!

  • formerlyAnon

Agree. Though I should note prominently – SHE ruined the look, not Stella. That could have been a McCartney that worked.

  • calimon

God, I think this is the one of the few best moments I’ve seen her. I think the hems are a relatively minor quibble. Loving her hair cut.

  • Kolo_Ol

    so close, so close!

  • Tamara Hogan

I’m LOVING that hair, but ladies? Look at those gnarley toes! Just say no to 5″ Louboutins.

    • leftcoastpickle

Who knew someone as gorgeous as Ms. Diaz had such hideous toes. I would hide those if I were her. I think she looks great, though. Too bad about the pant hems.

  • megohd

She is a tall drink of oatmeal.

  • golspie

I think she looks absolutely superb – sure, the trousers are a little long but, fuck it, she’s at last dressing for her age, her body size, her face and her outlook, and she’s pulling it all off.

  • margaret meyers

Who were those pants hemmed for anyway?  Diaz is 5’9″ and she’s wearing what look to be 3 or 4 inch heels.  From the ankles up she is killing it.

  • Cathy S

    The earrings are super cute.

  • Srw27

Seriously, in what universe is that hem okay??  And doesn’t she HAVE people who are in charge of making sure she doesn’t go out of the house looking like an asshole??

    Maybe not.

  • sweetlilvoice

Sadly, the whole outfit looks cheap which I doubt is the case. I think it’s the material. Fix the hem! And the top looks a little too small.

  • GTrain

“scrolldown fug” is new to me, and it’s genius. so true here. i thought she looked great from the neck up which is saying something because i usually can’t stand her.

  • PeaceBang

Some toes should not be visible. From the neck up, though, WERQ.

  • warontara

Oh Cam, this is so close to right that it PAINS me!! I am happy her hair is back in a good place, at least. I do think she could’ve used a pop of color somewhere, though. She’s pale and blonde, so this washes her out a little bit.

And seriously, everyone, let’s lay off the feet. People get corns, and I don’t think it’s that big a deal. As an ex-ballerina and ex-model (which means regularly getting shoved into whatever shoes are on hand), I have unattractive feet, but I’m not gonna ban myself from wearing sandals or flip flops over it.

  • Michelle Newell

I think her face looks fantastic. She usually looks 20 years older than her age.

  • I don’t know, she’s looking too Ellen Barkin to me.  Not that that’s a bad thing, but just not original…

  • kalisa

Those are the ugliest toes I’ve ever seen. No wonder she lets her pants bag down over her feet.

  • I just have to ask, though, wtfh is up with Stella M?  This is not the first of her ensembe’s that I think would make the red carpet get up and leave.
