WERQ: Heidi Klum in Temperley London

Posted on April 27, 2012

We must be in a really good mood today. Two WERQs, darlings! We’ll have to be extra-bitchy in the next post. But we refuse to apologize for it. Just as Chloe deserved her WERQ for rocking some fresh-faced tweengenue realness, Fraulein Heidi is killing it in the “I’m a recently divorced single mom and I’m still the hottest thing in the room, bitches” sweepstakes.

Heidi Klum attends the 6th annual DKMS Linked Against Blood Cancer Gala in New York City in Temperley London.

Temperley London Spring 2012 Collection/Model: Kati Nescher

And what makes this doubly WERQ-worthy is that she went with a lining. Oh, Heidi. You’re all grown up now. You’re free to  wear something short, tight, and shiny the next time you go out. You’ve earned it. You know you want to. We won’t even make fun of you for it.

The gown is very mother of the bride MILF to me. I’m not loving this. Sorry boys.

      • Little_Olive

Yeah, that sideboob more than compensates for the lenght.

    • VicksieDo

Wow, this is such a gorgeous look for her.  She’s getting it, boobs OR legs, not both.  WOW

      • Nelliebelle1197

Color me shocked she didn’t go with the sheer runway version. Motherhood must be lending some restraint.

    • hughman

I’ll give her props for the jewelry alone. That ring is TDF.

    • http://twitter.com/stellaphone Stella Zawistowski

I can’t go full-on WERQ because of the side-boob, but I can go with a big fat IN.

    • TSkot

      Yes you will.

    • Anathema_Device

Side boob…hmmm…okay, I’ll allow it because she looks so amazing otherwise. I’ll cosign on this WERQ.

I adore the silver and blue palette. She is glowing here.

    • l3icest3r

WERQ. Werq werq werq werq werq werq werq. Back in the old days (like two months ago), she would have had three dresses made out of that same amount of material.

Makeup, hair, jewelry, the style of dress, its color, the material … perfect. Maybe this is a thing now for her.

    • http://www.filmsbyneptune.com/ Dani Colman

I don’t know – it’s a gorgeous dress, but either the fit is off or it just wasn’t designed for someone as well-endowed as Ms. Klum.  She’s looking boxy through the waist and stumpy in the torso, and her boobs are all squished and pushed out to the side.  She’s in her 40’s – there’s nothing wrong with wearing a dress under which she can hide some support garments!  I think she needs something with more support in the bust or that cinches at the waist: it’d even things out some.

      • FlamingJune1967

I thought the same thing.  Beautiful gown but not a very flattering fit.

        • Judih1

Me too! Sorry TLO – disagree with you on this one

      • http://profiles.google.com/elaine.childs.magda Elaine Childs

I agree completely. I don’t think this dress looks good on her at all.

      • BerlinerNYC

Unless she’s pulled off a Wikipedia coup, she’s a couple of months younger than me, just about to turn 39 in June. We do not approve of your prematurely categorizing us as in our 40s! :-)

        • http://www.filmsbyneptune.com/ Dani Colman

Ack, my mistake! Frankly she looks good for any age: she always looks healthy and un-enhanced. If she’s had any work done it’s beautifully subtle. But even at not-quite-39, there’s still no shame in hiding a bra or bustier under your gown!

      • http://twitter.com/onetimeko maybe more

Agreed with this 100%. Definitely not a werq imo.

        • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_UXHOYXPNJJ4MQH6IHYSI3G5ILI M

Yeah, this is terrible!  I can’t believe it’s a WERQ.  It’s depressingly bad.

    • Malice Grant

“We won’t even make fun of you for it.”

      ….. really?

    • Super_Red

above the neck is flawless, but I’m not digging the dress. Even on the model (other than our fraulein here) the dress makes the wearer look pear shaped. I’m pretty sure that neither the model nor heidi are as bottom heavy as they appear in this dress. I just don’t think it’s that flattering. Plus the side boob, and I just can’t. Props on the lining, though. :)

      • erinbinek

    • DinaSews

She is such a beautiful woman. It’s a gorgeous look but it makes her look a little thick around her middle (a thick I would KILL for) compared to the naked magazine shoot.  Photoshop?

      • AudreysMom

seriously – some the angles made it look like she left Seal with one more in the oven. Agree with above. Pretty but just not feeling this one as WERQ.

    • MikeW_PHX

Heidi looks fabulous here.. but is it my imagination, or is there a slit in the front of the skirt that is threatening to show off the good china if she’s not careful?

      • BerlinerNYC

At first I saw that and thought it was going to be a jumpsuit, and I was all kinds of excited.

    • wisenhar

Hmm, really?  I don’t think this dress is all that flattering on her.  I will agree that her hair, makeup, and jewelry are all impeccable.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

A werq? Really? I would have gone with Not Your Dress. I think the colour and sparkle is great, but I think she needs just a teensy bit more structure.

    • http://twitter.com/watchinginkdry Dr Skylaser

Noooo I don’t love this look. Front slits just look weird to me, her hair from the front is kinda Newsies looking. and overall it makes her look thick and waistless.

    • Melissa Brogan

Not in love with the slit from crotch to floor, but hell I can barely see it on her. Looking good, Heidi.

    • http://twitter.com/PlanetSandisan Sandisan

Oh, hell yes.  J’adore that ring.

    • http://twitter.com/shinobi42 Shinobi

Love her Jewelry! The earrings OMG.

    • Alyson Epstein

      Info on that ring please!

      • carolynmo

        I second that request.

      • MilaXX

pretty sure it’s from her QVC collection. I don’t see it in the newest one, but she had a similar one over the holidays.

    • SpcilK

I disagree, I don’t like the dress or hair on her, it’s not flattering! The dress makes her look boxy and the hair is too many things, it makes her face look harsh. She can and has done better, sorry TLO.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Sierra-Delta/100003182924700 Sierra Delta

She’s a stunning woman, but that dress looks like she took the top from one of her older daughter’s sparkly princess costumes.  The fit is off — too sparse on top for one as generously endowed — and the middle makes her look thick.  But I appreciate the lining!

    • oatmealpie

But there’s so much side boob!

    • Kyle Crawford

OFF THE CHARTS beautiful!   THIS is called, eat your heart out Mr. Seal!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GFMOZFM3WT3T56EZHVZFK7UXSI Ramon

That pantsuit screams Ann Margret. So fab.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GFMOZFM3WT3T56EZHVZFK7UXSI Ramon

Sorry. Not a pantsuit. Still screams Ann Margret.

    • schadenfreudelicious

sorry gentlemen, i just can’t sign off on this one, while there are many lovely aspects to the dress (especially the color), it’s just too much sideboob….

    • erinbinek

Nope, not a WERQ for me.  Her girls and hanging too low and I detest side-boob.  She’s at that age where she needs a little support and this dress is not giving it to her.  And that ring is just ridiculous.  On a positive note, I think she looks fabulous from the neck up.

      • BerlinerNYC

Really? You act as if they are waist-length droopy. Did her boobs use to magically defy gravity in a way they are not accomplishing in this getup?
Not sure exactly how age-specific that is. The most notorious case of saggy-boob I can think of is that sad, sad “chicken cutlet” black dress Gwyneth wore to the Oscars… in her mid-20s.

    • TieDye64

Beautiful, to be sure, but it would look even better if the fit had been tweaked. No to the side boob.

    • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

      Love that nail color, too!

      • 3boysful

I know!  I’d never have thought to wear that dark color with the silvery blue(?), but it looks FAB!

    • Scarlet39

No.  It’s making her look thick through the middle (which she certainly is not).  Sorry.  I don’t think it’s her dress.

    • Jo Koster

Even with the side boobage? Wow, you guys ARE in a good mood. Must have been the Space Shuttle flying overhead sprinkling pixie dust or something.

    • Isana Leshchinskaya

      omg the jewelry

    • holdmewhileimnaked

i like everything but the color of the lining. i think if it had been a deeper purple or a darker blue, even, to set off the filigree & foofaraw of the dress it would be considerably better. otoh, after the sheer pure rottenness of the last few months of her life i am glad to see her looking reasonably happy. & she does look nice.

    • Rand Ortega

1 quibble: Side boob. What’s the deal? Is it a trend? To the gods, No. FYI: Channeling anything remotely connected to a Real Housewife is not chic. Just Skanky.

      • holdmewhileimnaked

just photographing it, hence worrying on it is a trend. i mean, it’s always been there. it’s not like they are a new thing or anything.

    • rketeckt

The cut makes her look zaftig on my monitor…and totally MILF of the bride…

    • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

    • MilaXX

if only Dakota had worn this color. Well done Ms. Klum

    • Pants_are_a_must

It doesn’t fit her well, sorry overlords. It’s a great dress and her face looks amazing, but the dress doesn’t fit well.

    • Lina_bee

Hrm. Something about the fit of the bodice (sideboob aside, as it were) isn’t quite working for me. Maybe it’s the way the built-in bra in the lining is structured? Or maybe it’s just a skoosh too small?  I wish it fit her like it does the model — the flapper style bodice really makes the dress.

    • kimmeister

She looks like she has no butt in this dress.  Must be the saggy fit in the waist.

Also, the jewelry is awesome, but too matchy.  I think Katherine Heigl got dinged for that a few months ago, no?

    • aimee_parrott

Heh… the lining was the VERY first thing I noticed.  It was sheer on the runway, and she chose to cover up.  The kinder is a frau, now.  Or something.

    • http://www.facebook.com/jahna.peloquin Jahna Peloquin

      “fresh-faced tweengenue realness” lol

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1313126032 Ajuna Ariel Fenty

My bb Heidi. Her inside glow has been fading since the divorce. Take time to heal bb. You’ll be just fine.

    • Ogden1990

      pancake ass, pancake boobs…out.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1326120071 Gaby Ripoll

I dunno, TLo. It’s slit up to her hoo-haw; not exactly demure (then again, neither is Heidi). Hair and makeup are pretty fly though.

    • amian3

Oh dear. I am finding myself disagreeing with TLo more and more. What is happening? This dress is killing her figure–she has no shape and looks like she has a really short torso. Given that her figure is amazing she shouldn’t put up with a dress that doesn’t show it well.

    • Cynthia Garza

Disagree.  She looks shapeless – no waist and no boob support.  Just bad.

    • http://twitter.com/yessveee Sarah Veenstra

If only that slit in the front wasn’t *quite* so high, and side-boob aside…she still has earned the WERQ. DO COVET the look from top to bottom. My newest fave of hers in a long time.

    • Zippypie

No, no, no!  The cups are not big enough for the boobs – side boob catastrophe!  And where that slit stops – put a neon arrow with a vacancy sign flashing.  Not a flattering fit either – she needs something to define her waist – this makes her midsection look boxy.  The color is also very wishy washy.  No, no, no!

    • AnaRoW

This dress reminds me of the one Madame Medusa wore in The Rescuers. Now I’m wondering if, like Heidi, Medusa actually had a nice body underneath and it was just the dress that made her look shapeless.

    • alyce1213

She’s not killing it, it’s killing me!  Not a WERQ by any standard: side boobage, front slit up to her cootchie, dress is a little bit too long, her waistline looks thick, black nails with evening wear…  NO. And the embroidery and beading looks like cheap Chinese factory work, not even a pretty design.
It’s Friday.  You must be very tired.

      • cleep1000

        Totally agree.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/XZTPYIF64TK3QDEMWUAS3KULFI Ted

it looks better on her than on the model, but yeah, when it gets to the waist part, it looks sort of unflattering. Girl is killing it in the hair and make-up though.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

You two might not make fun of her the next time, but we BKs will. Bet on it.

    • bitchybitchybitchy

I like the lining, as I think it really allows  you to appreciate the craftsmanship of the embroidery on the gown. Jawohl, Fraulein Klum is WERQ’ing this one!

    • ziarah

      Where did her curves go?

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_5CM2DUB3RPAOCKY3VEBGDHCJPI Shannon

Oddly, I have to particular objection to the side-boob. But the dress on the model looks ethereal and sylph-ish, and on Heidi, I agree with others, inexplicably squarish. Which she definitely isn’t. And that lovely lake blue color just goes flat on her. Not her dress.

    • quiltrx

I actually think this dress is prettier with the lining.  She looks radiant, too.

    • LesYeuxHiboux

I actually don’t think it’s doing anything very flattering for her figure. The color is gorgeous on her and I love the ring, but it makes her torso look like a brick. This is not a brick-shaped woman.

    • LesYeuxHiboux

I actually don’t think it’s doing anything very flattering for her figure. The color is gorgeous on her and I love the ring, but it makes her torso look like a brick. This is not a brick-shaped woman.

    • Lisa

Oh, poor, sad, depressed ugly Heidi!  Clearly divorce doesn’t agree with her!  😉  (Totally kidding – she looks amazing!)

    • granddelusion

There’s a lot of bob faking out of that dress. She’s trying too hard to be killing it. With all that boob and leggage, she’s far from grown up.

    • nannypoo

On anyone else that much side boob would be trashy, but we’ve already seen so much of her that she can get away with this, no problem. And doesn’t it make you kind of sad that we’re happy to see she chose to wear the dress with a lining? Shouldn’t we just expect that?

    • http://twitter.com/mirrormirrorxx Paola Thomas

I’m wondering whether the problem with the ‘boxy’ fit is that Heidi has demurely and surprisingly asked for the V neck to be sewn and inch or two higher than for the model.  That might account for the unflattering tightness and pulling in the middle of her sternum and the bad fit over the boobs.

    • kikisayshi

      Heidi is fab-u-lous!

    • crash1212

Not only did she go with the lining, it looks like she de-plunged the neckline a teeny bit! She IS all grown up. Also, those earrings and that ring are TO DIE! Nice WERQ!

    • DCSheehan

That is a very pretty dress. Love that colour and love that colour on her.

    • http://twitter.com/Lola99959 Veronika Kaufmann

honestly, I’m not a huge fan of this look. It’s a bit dull really. Having said that, I do love Heidi and she is oh so true to all one associates with the name (not a critique). Die brave Heidi.

    • elleg929

Don’t lie TLo…of course you will make fun her of the next time she wears something short, tight, and shiny (as well you should).

    • ChaquitaPhilly

Gorgeous and how about that RING!

    • belfebe

Flawless. You show thos bitches, gurl!

    • bluefish

Killing it is right.  She looks absolutely fantastic and she damn well knows it too.  Look at that smile!  Brava!

    • http://howtofaint.tumblr.com/ How to Faint

Sure, she lined it, but she also split it from stem to vase.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=517890557 Willis Cramer Kliefoth

It’s a lovely dress, but the fit is odd on her… it doesn’t have any of the ease or flow it had on the runway. I have to agree with others that it ages her too much, and the hair and makeup is really severe. Not terrible, but really not a WERQ

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=558631967 Ivona Foster

Gorgeous, and weirdly the side boob works?!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Mary-Stone/100001328135240 Mary Stone

Confidential to Katy Perry:  THAT is how you wear a Temperley gown.  That is all.

    • marilyn

Hiedi looks thick through the middle.  Thank goodness she had the good taste to line the dress, so it looks better than the runway dress.  But the overall effect is that she is definitely middleaged, and has no waist.  The side boobage does not distract from this problem. She is trying too hard to be sexy and she no longer has the glow of youth. She looks desperate. Won’t somebody please buy her a drink and flirt with her a little?

    • julesj

Her butt looks flat, and she looks rectangular from the back. side cleavage is yuck. Not getting the appeal. She looks like she’s had 4 kids; good, but not WERQ worthy.

    • ccm800

      Hello Gorgeous.

    • nancylee61

Whoa!! Way too much side boob!! It looks like it doesn’t even fit her!!

The good parts are the lining, and her hair and make-up are gorgeous!!!

    • TomBord

fits like a first sample. needs work.

    • snarkykitten

Not digging the vagina curtain. You can’t have super tight and sideboob and slit in the front.

    • Bethany Fairbrother

Those are some sad puppies she’s displaying there.  Heidi  You made your mark in under garments.  You’ve nursed 3 children.  This is not your dress.  Almost want to say “recently divorced, and trying too hard to be a MILF” dress.

    • GTrain

I love it. And yes so happy she got the lining.

    • mozzer0906

Frau’s bosoms look fantastic in that outfit as well.  She looks gorgeous.

    • Joyce VG

    • Jessica O’Connell

THANK GOD she wore it with a lining

    • PrunellaV

Christ, she even makes sideboob look good!

    • Rrroza

I understand everyone saying the silouette is off and she needs  more support, but I’ll be contrary and say bravo for the natural shape! Love it sheer on the model too—something Weimar about it?—though that wouldve been totally inappropriate for a public appearance. And also: her version of sideboob is fine, there’s nothing bad there.

    • CatherineRhodes

I love that she’s actually wearing earrings! I thought they’d been discontinued as a Hollywood fashion accessory.
