WERQ: Chloë Moretz in Kenzo

Posted on April 27, 2012

Baby GURL.

We just want to pick you up and hoist you on our shoulders so the world can see your tiny little fabulosity.

Chloë Moretz attends the CinemaCon 2012 Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas in a Kenzo dress paired with Jimmy Choo sandals.

Kenzo Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ Sandals

A-FREAKING-DORABLE.

Gorgeous little dress and perfect little pair of strappies. The makeup looks cute, fresh, and age-appropriate. We’re not a hundred percent on the headband but who cares? You WERQ that Snow White shit, girl! Baby snaps!

      Perfect and age appropriate.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Its a bit shiny for my taste, but I do love the shoes.  And she is just adorable.

    • http://oshunanat.livejournal.com/ Carrie

      Gorgeous and fun!

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

She looks great.  I wonder if its due to being so young and new to all this, she is less willing to argue with her stylist, and (probably rightly), just listens to them, and allows them to get on with their job?  Perfection.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Yes, totally cute. Creepy and initializing on the model, perfect for a young teen starlet. Nice!

    • Deac82

The print on this dress has a great 70s-ish vibe to it.  I’ve noticed that when the ladystars are dressing on the Red Carpet by following some inspiration of their movie characters (Dark Shadows in this case), their outfits have a focus that is normally absent.  Usually, they hit it out of the park.

    • http://heartprintandstyle.blogspot.com Vivi N

She looks very cute and age appropriate. I think I would love this look a little bit more if she added a nice statement necklace.

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I don’t really like her hairstyle, but that is churlish when the rest is so cute. Great shoes!

      • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Bless you, for using churlish, in a sentence. Bless you.

        • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

          It’s a great word isn’t it?!

          • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

It is indeed.  One of my personal favorites, along with, obfuscate, presentiment, and fanfaronade. (grin)

            • eme and azul

              hope vacay was wonderful…

I had the presentiment that having you again amongst our tribe would be wonderful. Let me fanfaronade away your return…

foodycatAlicia thanks for the word of the day!!! I shall use it in a sentence: Here I am on TLo, since my day has been so churlish and acidulous, looking at cutie Chloe. (used right?) :) – (I am also bored!)

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Paris was awesomely great! The only odd thing for me, was dealing with getting openly stared at all the time, due to my kilt wearing. In SF, where I call home, I go unremarked, usually. Also, I love your response, with your words of the day in play!

            • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

I do get the impression that Paris is more judgmental than SF (or London).

              Susurrus is another good word.

            • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Behind the chic lies an under layer of conservativism. But it was really no big deal.

    • Sobaika Mirza

Cute. Not sure it’s WERQ territory? I’m actually not sure someone so young could WERQ. And I really dislike how the headband is deployed.

      But still! Very cute.

      • Alisa Rivera

I agree, it’s cute but not OMG AMAZING.

I almost never agree with TLo’s WERQs, which is strange because I generally agree with their opinions elsewhere. But the WERQs fall flat.

        • tsid2012

Agreed, she looks good but to me, that dress makes her top look boxy.  And her torso is far from boxy.  It’s cute, love the shoes, hair & make up but not a WERQ moment…..

          • DCSheehan

Boxy! That’s the word I was looking for! It’s so structured she looks like she has a robot torso. It’s an okay for me but far from werq. Or even work.

          • unbornfawn

I think the waist is sitting a little too high.

    • Vaniljekjeks

      Love it, love her!

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_64HSRZWCSJ5RBFGCWDLFQOICYM G

Adorable, but the top looks a tad tight… not enough to remove WERQ however.  Envy a youngster with those shoes!

    • BrooklynBomber

      Kenzo!

      • baxterbaby

I know!  I had no idea Kenzo was still around!

    • AlinaValero

      LOVE THOSE SHOES.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1401197785 Jennifer Peters-Ahnberg

She looks fantastic, but the mom in me wants to tell her to get her hands out of her pockets!

    • RzYoung

Yay finally she’s appropriate! I view her far less critically when she’s dressed like this, I hope she stays this way for a couple of years.

    • mjude

      adorable!

    • http://twitter.com/wednesdaydreams Natalie

      finally! she looks adorable.

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/J2VE4NE2FY2BP4QD2XOYKJGLPI Laura

      Adorable

    • carolynmo

I completely agree: cute as a bug! Can anyone explain the headband not being USED as a headband thing? I don’t understand. Is it because I’m a geezer?

    • rowsella

She and Krysten Ritter could dress out of the same closet.  Shiny, printed, bodice with full skirt dresses.  Very Kenley.

    • http://twitter.com/watchinginkdry Dr Skylaser

Huh.  I don’t love the dress (too shiny) or the shoes (too. . . nope, I just don’t like ‘em), but you’re right Uncles, she does look adorable.

    • juliamargaret

“The makeup looks cute, fresh, and age-appropriate.”

      AMEN!!

    • PastryGoddess

What a great way to start Friday, it can only get better from here..no?

    • http://annequichante.wordpress.com/ Anne

      The shoes are fanTASTic.

    • TheOriginalLulu

Gorgeous! Somebody needs to point out to her how beautiful she looks when she’s not making duck lips for the camera.
      Love those sandals.

    • Super_Red

oh my gosh– is she SMILING?? She looks great, and I think half the reason why is because she actually looks happy rather than depressed and/or making sexy face for the camera. Good job, Chloe! gorgeous smile, gorgeous dress!

    • kcliff

This little gal is so good at playing bitchy teens that to me she always looks like she has permanent bitchface! That’s not the case but seriously, she’s so great at it it is hard for me to see her as sweet. Hilarious on 30 Rock. In a few of the photos it looks like she is grimacing – I wonder if it’s because her feet hurt? Ouch on the shoes, I’d be dying.

    • introspective

those shoes are fierce. dress is cute, headband’s a pass.

but again–those shoes: FIERCE. love. and would snatch them off of her if I got too close, kid or not.

    • janetjb

Look at her happy face, she knows she looks good.

    • nycfan

I think the head-band is a cute childish offset to the super sophisticated shoes (gorgeous shoes, no doubt).  Seeing how great the outfit looks on a teen makes the 20ish model look like she needs to learn to dress more age appropriately, though, which I wouldn’t think is the designer’s intent (in terms of who might buy the dress).

    • http://theargiehome.blogspot.com/ Gus Casals

Look at her face in the second pic from the top! She’s telling us ” I’m a fabulous little, thing, am I not? “

    • nannypoo

Adorable. I love her interesting and beautiful little face. I’d like to add a belt, but that’s a small quibble. Now, as for the Igottapee pose, isn’t that intended to make the poser look thinner? Is that necessary here?

    • MilaXX

      cute! love the dress

    • Lilak

Removing the belt and wearing the waistline completely horizontal (vs. front slightly raised on model) makes Chloe’s version especially  girlish/age-appropriate for her — kind of a Kiernan Shipka quality?

And glad she didn’t jack up the hem.

Liking the softer hair, too — really right, for a change, for her shoulders and her little kitten face.

    • Shoelover1512

I didn’t even notice the headband until you mentioned it so I think it works!

    • Lilithcat

Is she really that short-waisted, or is it the dress?

      • FlamingJune1967

Yeah, I thought that too!  The entire bodice seems stiff and too small.  but the overall look is cute.

    • Tamara Hogan

Oh yeah. Perfecto. You show ‘em how it’s done, Chloe!

    • marilyn

      Perfect!

    • Susan Crawford

She is perfectly adorable, and adorably perfect.

    • lunulaoblongata

The best thing about this look is the lack of duckface. She’s still refusing to wear something with a flattering waistline. Everything I’ve seen her wear makes it look like her waist begins 2cm below her bust.

    • poggi

Really cute.  I wish she had kept the belt though.

    • http://vvatima.livejournal.com/ murt

That dress really needs a belt though.

    • http://twitter.com/anacedillo Ana Ced

finally something age appropriate from this girl, AND no duck face! thank goodness, although im not a fan of those shoes with that dress or on her.

    • granddelusion

Dress is cute. Shoes are way too old.

    • Sophie Collier

I like the little-girlness of the headband.  It tones down the rather grown-up heels and keeps the look swinging more towards “sweet” than “glamorous.”  Not ready for that kid to look like a woman yet.  She’s mah baby!

    • Lina_bee

She’s adorable, and that neckline is very flattering for women with shorter necks. Busy Phillips should take note.

    • http://www.lippsisters.com/ Deborah Lipp

The matching booties on the model are delightfully insane but I’m VERY glad Chloe didn’t wear them.

    • http://profiles.google.com/valencia.lucia87 Lucía Valencia

She looks like she knows she looks great, and that’s what makes her even more adorable. But I too would change her shoes for something more age appropriate, those heels are way too high for her.

    • aimee_parrott

that last picture kills me — adorable!

    • Melissa Brogan

Cute shoes! Perfectly adorable look for a 15 year old.

    • bluefish

Have no clue who CM is but will look it up — The little dress is soooo cute and for once I like a pair of shoes!  She looks lovely.  Beautiful little dress — love love love the fabric and the fit.

    • CQAussie

Love the dress, it’s fab but not sure about the shoes….Chloe is rocking the look though, agree, adorable =)

    • erinbinek

I want those shoes.  And I don’t even wear heels.

    • EEKstl

Whoever she is she is WERQing it.  Darling.

    • guest2visits

Perfection. Glad she ditched the belt; agree with you about head band. She has the most charming face!

    • holdmewhileimnaked

oh, she wanted to do something w/ her head &, at the same time, the headband ties the shoes closer to the outfit.
i love that she had the skirt lengthened instead of shortened.

    • sleah_in_norcal

now that she finally looks her age, what a cutie-patooty!

    • alyce1213

Pefection, head to toe.  I LOVE that little dress and wish I were young enough to wear it.

    • TieDye64

Baby snaps, indeed! She really does look adorable. Pretty and fun.

    • girliecue

She may still be a child, but I’d cut her for those Jimmy Choos. Love the entire look, love that her eyebrows are simply tidied up – not groomed to death, love Miss Chloe Moretz!

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Lovely little dress.  I would have taken it up a few inches, but that seems quibbling – she looks great.

    • sk8tfan

Absolutely darling. And I love the fun expressions on her face. Just a well dressed cutie pie all the way around.

    • Cathy S

Adorable. Although I think the shoes (although they are lovely) are way too high for her.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

So perfectly adorbs.  And how I love those shoes!

    • amanda crow

Love the dress and face, but I’m not sold on the shoes. I know they’re Choo, but they look kind of Payless to me. (SORRY!)

    • kimmeister

Love the dress (would have been better with belt), but not the shoes.  Love the pockets too.

    • SRQkitten

Glad she got to this dress before Michelle Williams had a chance to snag it.

      Too cutely appropriate!

      srq

    • LesYeuxHiboux

She does look great, however, she has been cast as Carrie in a remake of the eponymous film (Julianne Moore will play her). To which I say WTF.

    • quiltrx

She looks great, and looks like she FEELS great, which is just as important.

You know, I thought that was just a dark area in her hair until you said it was a headband!

    • Lisa

Who IS that small child, and how did she get so fabulous in such a short amount of time?

    • Lisa

Who IS that small child, and how did she get so fabulous in such a short amount of time?

    • LambeeBaby

Fab! She should invite Dakota over for a girls night and give her some tips

    • http://katelorenzdesign.com Kate Lorenz

For me, the waist on this dress is a little too high, and definitely begging for a belt.  I think it looks much better on the model.

    • http://twitter.com/carelessriver Cassie L

That is just so right on her! More right than on the model, even. Oh my heart, she is adorable.

    • AudreysMom

this one’s gonna be bigger than ScarJo. Mark my words.

    • http://tigergray.blogspot.com/ Tiger Gray

      would kill for the jacket

    • Dhammadina

She looks great but aren’t those shoes kind of high for someone that young? Or I guess that is just what young girls wear? They can get fat implanted into their foot pads when they are older.

    • m0r0

SHe should have worn the belt.
