Sharon Stone for Vogue Brazil

Posted on April 25, 2012

Sharon Stone is the latest to get the Fashion Gollum treatment as Vogue Brazil digitally recreates her from the ground up:

Sharon Stone covers the May 2012 issue of Vogue Brazil photographed by Alix Malka in a Gucci dress.

We get bored with the inevitable Photoshop conversations, but that’s pretty hilarious. Here’s a clip from Digital Sharon’s latest movie. Her Spanish is excellent.

Great dresses, though.

Dolce&Gabbana Spring 2012 Collection

Too bad they didn’t let the real Sharon Stone model them.

The dresses are super awesome.  And I love me some crazy bitch Sharon Stone.  But that’s not sharon stone…

      • Phyllis Craine

Agree it must be a clone

        • VicD

That appears to be Sharon Stone digitally inserted from Total Recall (1990)

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

She’s practically a teenager thanks to photo shop.   I do love that Gucci dress.

      • ccinnc

Why didn’t they photoshop white teeth into her mouth in the cover photo?

        • Patti Lever

duh, ’cause that would look too fake.

    • FlamingJune1967

Best looking 54 year old I have ever seen!

    • P M

I can’t. even. SERIOUSLY?? She deserves MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.

    • Lochery

I totally thought that was a blonde Kristen Stewart with that second photo. But then again, I’m running a fever, so I might be delirious.

      • 3boysful

At first glance I thought it was Blake Lively.  And I’m not running a fever!

      • foodycatAlicia

I thought Kaley Kuoco. No fever here either!

      • foodycatAlicia

I thought Kaley Kuoco. No fever here either!

      • oohsparkley!

I thought it was Carrie Underwood.

    • Kiltdntiltd

What the HELL?!!!!!  She’s gorgeous.  What on earth do they need to Sci Fi her for?  The clothes are great, and she is a wonderful manikin for clothes. Love the 20s feel of the Gucci, and the Dolce&Gabbana feeds my gay man’s love of bling.

      • janetjb

         Welcome back

        • Kiltdntiltd

Thanks so much, Janet!   My visit to Balenciaga will ALWAYS be remembered, for the incredible graciousness of the premier venduse there.  Too many stories, not enough time.

      • Ginger

Is it ok if I have a gay man’s love of bling, yet am a straight female myself?  I do believe I’ll have to work that phrase into my daily conversation, much like I say that I’m channeling my inner gay man when listening to Erasure.

        • Kiltdntiltd

Of course its okay!  In fact, its an order!

      • eme and azul

oooh, I missed the Kilt. Kept looking for your avatar through the comments…Glad to have the bling-loving-gay-man back!!

        • HomeOfficeGirl

          You were missed!

        • Kiltdntiltd

          Many thanks!

        • WordyDoodles

           me too!

    • Evan Hart

It’s so strange to me. Sharon Stone has some character to her face, but it’s not like she’s some hideous, wrinkly harpy beast who would need the gods of Photoshop to make her look human. She’s gorgeous! If they do this to women like Sharon Stone I’d hate to see what they’d do to us mere mortals.

      • formerlyAnon

Possibly they’d decline to edit our photos, lest they have to cleanse their digital tools in some elaborate ritual to remove the contamination.

    • poggi

Is one of the headlines asking if 50 is the new 30?  If, so the answer is no.  According to Vogue Brazil 50 is the new 10.

    • Leonardo Alves

You know the funniest thing? The headlines say:
Sharon Stone without plastic surgery says: The 50s are the new 30s. “Im incredible, funny and have the best clothes in the world.”

Easy not to appeal to plastic surgeries when photoshop is so much more effective!

      • 3boysful

         And presumably much less painful!

      • crush on you

And way cheaper too… AND she herself doesn’t have to pay for it 😀

        • Helen

not sure if its cheap. years ago TV show “behind the closed doors” revealed the best photoshoppers  got paid for $800-$1,200 per hour,  not sure if the price has gone down, since everyone can do photoshopping

          • Melissa Brogan

Everyone can do a little touch-up, but the kind of “magic” the best retouchers do is still worth quite a bit of money.

      • judith traherne

“The headlines say: Sharon Stone without plastic surgery says: The 50s are the new 30s.”
In *Brazil* Vogue? Two words: Dr. Ivo Pitanguy.

        Okay that was three words.

    • Little_Olive

And posing like she was the next girl to get a gig in a sitcom, too.

    • FlamingJune1967

And I love the way these basically shapeless dresses somehow fit Sharon’s curves like a second skin lol!

      • Bridget Smith

That doesn’t have to be photoshop. That could be a clip in the middle of her back, the way they do on mannequins in stores to make you think the clothes will actually fit well.

        • FlamingJune1967

ah-ha!  so that’s why the clothes never look as good on me :)

          • Bridget Smith

Right? “Oh man, that shirt looks GREAT on the mannequin! Let me try it on! Ohh, shapeless blob. NEVER MIND.”

    • dress_up_doll

When photoshopping SS they must’ve pressed the “within an inch of her life” key. This is just ridiculous.

    • jw_ny

      So…Sharon is now a 21 year old?

I need to be digitally recreated.

I made it to the 2 minute mark of that vid…couldn’t take any more than that, but then, I’m not an 8 year old girl….

    • Allyson Wells

They couldn’t even let her have one little wrinkle? She looks younger than both of those models and she’s probably twice their age.  I love that dolce & gabbana dress…. not sure it needed that big green necklace though.

      • jw_ny

lol…yes, that big green necklace throws that overly bedazzeled and crystaled dress into the ‘too much’ territory…;)

      • crush on you

I can’t tell from the photos here but I’m sure she doesn’t even have wrinkles in her fingers.

    • Laylalola

Christ, if you said that’s Megan Fox photoshopped I’d be more likely to believe you.

    • Clueless_Jock

      She looks like Britney Spears.

      • gsk241

That was my first thought.  Britney Spears or Carrie Underwood. Now, Vogue Brazil, what’s the point of trying to convince us that Sharon Stone who was born in 1958 has the same face as Carrie Underwood who was born in 1983?

    • Eileen Mannion

Check it out … and show it to all the young girls you know!!

    • marilyn

Notonly is is someone else’s body, but I think it is not really Sharon’s face.

However, the body they used to model the dresses in the magazine looked better than the runway models.

    • Alex McGeagh

The photoshop in this is beyond egregious.

    • Erin D. Coffey

I think this installment should be called, “Girl, that is not your face.”

      • Denise Alden

Oooo . . . I want a weekly TLo installment of “Girl, That is Not Your Face”!

    • Lina_bee

I seriously though it was Heather Locklear at first. It looks nothing at all like la Stone.

      • BayTampaBay

Heather Locklear is 50 this year so it might be her in a Sharon Stone Halloween costume and mask.

    • kimmeister

Her coloring in the 2nd shot is no bueno also.  Her skin itself looks gray.

    • sarahofalessergod

I thought it was Elizabeth Banks…

      • alyce1213

Elizabeth Banks actually looks older than this travesty.

    • NurseEllen

All that digital work, plus she’s giving herself an extra face lift on the cover!  I don’t care for the cover dress, one of that flapper-esque collection that has been doing yeoman work all season, but the bejeweled one is pretty fab.

    • BrooklynBomber

How old is she now, 26, 27?

      • Sara__B

      • formerlyAnon

I believe that by next year she’ll be 16.

    • Ted

      isn’t that Natasha Bedingfield?

    • Shawn EH

      Sharon’s a Sim!

    • LuluBI

F —- you Vogue.  It was funny for a while but as an unenhanced over 50 woman, I am getting ready to cancel my subscription

    • janetjb

      I’m speechless.

    • Ass Kicking Adviser

Hilarious is exactly the right word. Love the dresses though.

    • guest2visits

She looks amazing. I wonder when that can of eternal youth becomes available in a store near me. Maybe it’s in Brazil.

    • MilaXX

I like when Raquel smacks the kid in the face because she’d rather see Barbie. Great dresses, I wish we could have seen how Sharon looked in them.

    • Rebecca Johnson

Forget uncanny valley, this is uncanny mountain range.

    • eme and azul

Stupid question TLo, but I have a clip for a Barbie movie as Sharon Stone’s latest movie…

Who is she supposed to play. None of the voices I’ve heard sound like her…Is she for real in a Barbie – Secreto de Las Hadas movie??

…for the record, Spanish is my primary language and I couldn’t find Sharon’s tone in the movie, which I have to admit, I watched… Love me some Barbie and fairies!!!

      • Sara Munoz

        Tis a joke.

        • eme and azul

Sadly, it did not register through my thick skull…and ever sadder I know about this movie since I’m bombarded with commercials for it on DiscoveryKids en Español…

Although I did get the price gem: You two belong together like a mini skirt and tall boots!

Thanks Sara for letting me in on it :) – Sharon did look fabulous, and youthful 😛 (that’s to myself!)

    • unbornfawn

Instead of giving the photographer credit they should started crediting the photoshopper.

    • Aniela Marie Perry

Love those dresses. You guys are hysterical, posting that Barbie movie.

    • howdoilook

    • funkypeanut

She looks like Jenny McCarthy 10 or 15 years ago.

    • Dan_In_NYC

      She looks 22.  Scary.

    • introspective

Sharon looks like she just woke up in 2067 from her post-cryogenic freeze siesta. Girl bye.

    • kingderella

      LOVE the dolce. thats all.

    • AthenaJ

That’s Sharon Stone like I’m Dolly Parton. Nice job, Photoshop.

    • Ann Harste

Look’s like Barbie’s style team had problems finding what they wanted on the accessory wall too.

    • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

there is no photoshop going on.  what happened is, sharon stone got pissed off and sucked the life-force out of jennie mccarthy and reese whitherspoon.  bitch is that fabulous.

    • Pants_are_a_must

That cover just screams “I can’t believe it’s not Photoshop!”

    • Tutlecup

      Brazilians speak Portuguese, not Spanish.

      • alyce1213

True, but the video is in Spanish.  Much bigger Barbie market.
        The magazine is in Portuguese.

      • Tom and Lorenzo

         We know.

    • MzzPants

      Good grief.  She looks twenty.

    • Karen C

Geez, that makes her look like a 22 yr old young starlet.  You know, I wonder though, I don’t think it’s necessarily a given that the star insists on the photoshop treatment though, do you?  She seems like a woman who “owns it” with her age.

      • holdmewhileimnaked

she didnt ask for that. no person would ask for that to be done to herself, especially not one who looks really good no matter how old she is. & she’s both intelligent & savvy enough to understand that age matters a whole lot less now than it did when she actually looked the age she’s made to look here. not only that, i will go out on an extra special limb here & say that she’s both savvy & smart enough to know that less photoshop rather than more would make her stand out quite a bit better than she does here, all dressed up as an absurdity.

    • theblondette

I seriously could not have told who it was without the caption. WTF??

      • formerlyAnon

I still wonder if they made her come in for the shoot, or just used a stand in, edited the photos, and sent her a check for the use of her name and any bits of her actual proportions used.

    • Miss_Magpie

Isn’t that Reese Witherspoon in the role of Sharon Stone?

    • TieDye64

      Oy. Not good.

    • another_laura

      Hilarious is right!

And FWIW, 50 is 50.  Full stop.  So weary of hearing that I’m supposed to feel (and obviously look) like I’m 30.

      • holdmewhileimnaked

i’m almost fifty & i look like i’m thirty. but i dont look like that, above. & neither does sharon stone.

    •!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

Nothing I can say about the unrecognizable photos that hasn’t already been said (but hey! at least the cover is helpfully labeled!) but man I love a jewel-encrusted dress.

    • Bernadette Moke

She looks like Madonna a bit in these shots… that retoucher should be fired.

I would kill for those dresses though.

    • Lola67

Yep, this is why I never buy Vogue. Do you hear me editors?!? I’m sure the real Sharon looks fabulous.

    • holdmewhileimnaked

even i know what she looks like & thats saying a lot.

      thats not her.

    • sekushinonyanko

      Kate Winslet?

    • Karen

At first glance the cover pic looks more like Kaley Cuaco who is about 30 years younger than Sharon Stone.

    • Susan Crawford

If you hadn’t identified her, I would never in a million years realized this was Sharon Stone. Man, they loves them some of that photoshop at Vogue, don’t they?

    • rose88

Sharon Stone’s granddaughter is very pretty!  Oh wait a minute…

    • GTrain

Photoshop is so out of hand it’s offensive.

    • DominoEstella

seriously.  Let the real Sharon shine through.  I bet she looks better than the Digital Sharon we see here.  Enviable even, for her age.

    • formerlyAnon

Your comments re: the alleged Ms. Stone, so true.

The D&G dress is way more appealing than anything that gaudy ought to be.

    • Sue_Asponte

I’ve seen that Barbie movie about four times (perils of having little girls — I now can give a feminist critique, movie-by-movie, of all Barbie and princess movies). Next time it’ll be enhanced by my trying to imagine Sharon Stone as the voice of Barbie. Thanks!

    • siriuslover

ugh. This is horrible. And some poor young women believe these things are reality.

    • Nelliebelle1197

TLo, hate to be rude, but the language of BRASILIA is Portuguese. My work boyfriend is Brazilian and my Spanish is better than his.

      • Tom and Lorenzo

         And we never said otherwise.

        • Nelliebelle1197

Ohh…. I thought the little video was meant to be connected to the Brazil shoot. Must have misunderstood. Was very surprised and figured you knew that, so I am glad to be wrong :)

          • Tom and Lorenzo

No, it was just a joking reference to her plastic-like skin. The first Barbie video we could find was in Spanish and we thought it would be funny to run with it.

    • Raistlinsama

Some hacker needs to invent a virus/worm/whatever that will kill every single copy of Photoshop!

    • How to Faint

Hey! Selena Gomez is in that Sharon Stone movie.

    • boweryboy

At first glance of the thumbnail I tought it was Reese Witherspoon.

    • Snickleboom

She looks younger than she looked when she was young.

    • Tom Markiewicz

she’s still got the batshit crazy eyes though, so you know at SOME stage it was her…

      • sleah_in_norcal

        she’s probably going commando, too.

    • ChristySchiff

Sharon Stone has a daughter in her thirties?  And she named her Sharon?  I never would have known that without  Vogue Brasil.  They really do kind of look alike, don’t they?

    • Sarah Caponigro

      This lady is 20.

    • sashaychante

This is the real Sharon Stone…resurrected from 1992.  Love the dresses.

    • korilian

Sharon Stone couldn’t make it, so she send her grand daughter.

    • sleah_in_norcal

through the miracle of digital animation, sharon stone is seventeen again.

    • Judih1

She looks a bit little like Madonna to me in the first photo.

And they put in pale blonde on Vogue Brazil – where 80% of the population is there is of color. Once again the beauty industry wants people to aspire to be something they never can be. If they don’t convince us that we need to be younger or thinner (by using photoshop) they convince us that there is only one standard of beauty

    • lilazander

What the….? Whatever…. I love me that Gucci dress, oh yes.
