Lady Gaga in Atelier Versace

Posted on April 23, 2012

Is the next style phase for Steffi going to be “superhero?” Because we are SO EXCITED if that’s the case.

Lady Gaga arriving in Seoul.

Atelier Versace Spring 2011 Collection

Only you, Steffi; only you.

Hot Ginger Handler looks a little tired. Perhaps you should give him a day off. Send him to us. We’ll send him back looking refreshed and relaxed.

  • If Greek mythology were a Marvel comic…

Hot Ginger Handler *does* look like he could use a little T Love.

  • Her boobs make me feel sad.

    Love the pearl headdress thing!

  • andcoh

    She looks insanely fabulous.

  • Paigealicious

I actually like the hair quite a bit.

  • TonyGo

What was Princess Puffy Sleeve’s name he suggested for his super hero alter-ego?  Ferosha Couture?

  • AthenaJ

Love the dress, Gaga goes Goddess.

She has a body to die for, too. Me = jealous!

  • JDreesen

makes sense to wear your most comfortable Versace i suppose.  good lord.

    • tsid2012

My first thought too.  Really? AT THE AIRPORT?!?!  LOL!  I guess if you can….

  • Jasmaree

Love the hair and mask. Not so much the dress.

  • I was just thinking this blog was missing some Gaga action!

  • muzan-e

Hot Ginger Handler looks a little tired. Tasty Korean Suit, however, looks a little tasty.

    Carry on.

    • momato

I would never have noticed her body guards if it weren’t for the Bitter Kittens.  LOL, carry on.

      • h0n0rb

True for me too, and now I really only look at Gaga posts for the HGH. If she’s a superhero, will he get a sidekick costume?

        • JosephLamour

Omigod I hope so. Codpiece ahoy.

        • formerlyAnon

If so, I anticipate with joy the completely unchanged “handler focus” on his face contrasting with the flair of the costume.

    • formerlyAnon

It is the duty of a sem-deity to surround herself with beauty.

  • jw_ny

Was she thinking nobody would recognize her with that mask?  😉

    • guest2visits

Sometimes I get the impression she is always hiding behind a mask. For real.
This was kind of nice on her; except for the obvious thong.

      • 3boysful

She really needs Spanx and some boob support.

  • I’m so glad there is someone out there living my fantasies of dressing completely according to  imagination and whim. It makes my daily compromises for comfort and convention more tolerable.

  • Call me Bee

It amazes me that she can sit around on a plane with that (or any of her odd get-ups.)  It must just be exhausting to be her.

    • andcoh

I feel like the thrill of doing it would overcome the exhaustion.

      • lonepear

I’m with you. Or at least I would enjoy finding out.

    • 3boysful

       Exhausting=my thought exactly!

  • Terence Ng

Oh, look, she’s back in the news again…

Great dress. Bod is rocking it, too. The mask is silly. Hair is interesting.

  • IMNAngryLiberal

VPL and droopy boobs — someone needs to give Steffi a copy of “Undergarments for Dummies”.

  • Baditude

Love the shape of the hair, but the front piece is a totally different shade than the rest. Maybe that was on purpose? But it sets off my OCD.

  • Beth G

Why does she always want to cover her face?

    • Makes it easier to use doubles. That’s why I’d do it, anyway, if I were in her position. The real answer is probably more prosaic; something like “I want to deflect criticism of my nose” or “I like masks.”

  • What an unflattering look on her.

  • JasmineAM

I love that dress and would wear it in an instant.

  • StelledelMare

It’s eye catching, gorgeous, and completely her without being way too over the top. Well done.

  • Judy_J

I do believe the Lady has given the world a new accessory for those who have undergone a facelift but must appear in public.

  • really digging the hair (and everything else)

  • EditKitten

It’s all too fucking fabulous. Love!

  • BeeBeauNYC

Lordy Hot Ginger Handler is looking rough – at least send him out for a facial, Steffi! (Pun not intended.)

  • marilyn

I assume that the Japanese fashion sense would love this, being very costume-y on several levels.  Very shrewd, Lady GG.  At least it is not as smelly as the meat dress.  She is into creating a shock when she makes an entrance.  Thank God she can actually sing.  However, no one is ever going to accuse her of having good taste, and I assume she does not care.

  • MilaXX

Which I could get a good look at that hair. I kinda like it.

  • JMansm

I really really really love it. She looks like a gorgeous and strange statue but then take away the headdress and the styling, it’s a classically beautiful gown.

  • GorgeousThings

I have to say, I LOVE this on her. Who else could make an evening gown and a pearl bandito mask work coming through customs?

  • SignLadyB

I am so tired of her! Really don’t need that much bosom, and uh oh, panty line tee hee. Hot Ginger, however, hmmmmm.

  • Dan_In_NYC

There is some serious VPL happening from the back view.

  • Hetha Innis

I’m ALWAYS looking for Hot Ginger Handler when I see pics of her now!

    • mmc

      Me too!  Hilarious!

  • Visible foundation garments: something a superhero would never have.  Indeed, I have often imagined that superheros wear no foundation garments at all, but that perhaps is a post for a different kind of blog.

    • indigospade

I dunno, you can clearly see the underwear of batman, superman, and wonderwoman. Mainly because that’s all WW wears and the other two wear theirs outside their suit.

  • nannypoo

On her, without the mask, I could really like this.

  • alyce1213

When a dress makes your boobs look flat n’ floppy when you’re 26 years old, it is not the dress for you.
    VPL??   WTF!
    Epic Fail.

    • formerlyAnon

I’d agree if this were a normal celebrity whose #1 aim was to present herself as close to ideally as possible. I don’t think that’s Gaga’s #1 aim (though I’m sure it’s on the short list.)

One reason I like the dress is that she looks like a womanly body in it. The VPL is not very “Gaga,” I admit. The visible sag in the boobs I find endearing. If you are going to swan about dressed in clothing that leaves very little to the imagination, I’m all for occasionally allowing a little body reality, rather than an optimally flattering vision, to peep through.  She’s 26, she’s got a great body and guess what? He boobs, apparently, do not defy gravity.

(edited for Disqus’ endearing way with line breaks & again, for grammar)

  • BazoDee

I could do without seeing her lace thong!!

  • Sara__B

I can only imagine the sort of like where I’d look like this AFTER an international flight. Sigh.

  • I think she’s losing it. She’s normally (er, wrong word when it comes to her) pretty immaculate with her costumes, but that pearl mask looks home made and I can see her thong underwear through her dress in that last pic.

    • Derek_anny

It was home made.  She shared on her facebook that she glued pearls to a mask on the plane ride over.  I’m inordinately excited that I know this.

    • The thong underwear seriously surprises me given how often she’s happily skipped the underwear entirely to prevent VPL.

  • ccm800

Man I love that dress on the model so much more. The shoulder pads missing reduce it’s impact. So unGaga

    • poggi

I agree.  The shoulder pads and the way its almost falling off the model really make the dress for me.  It’s pretty and sexy but makes less of an impact on Gaga.

  • PantherontheRunway

It looks so nice on the LEAN model! very chic! On Gaga, with more curves, it looks like she’s spilling out!

    • Curious emphasis on lean there, especially since Gaga’s generally rather lean herself. Gaga’s dress is constructed differently than the model’s, with different draping in the front, no shoulder pads, and cut in the back to purposefully hug the butt. I think all of those changes were a mistake because it the rare elegant Versace dress look just as cheap and tacky as the average Versace.

  • granddelusion

    But–VPL? NG!

  • BickieLou

Why is everyone bitching on about her boobs? Are we so accustomed to seeing celebs with implants that people have forgotten what the real thing looks like? Real boobs get squashed under pressure, saline filled balloons stay perky. I think she looks completely FABULOUS.

    • I know! It’s so refreshing to see real boobs. The sad things isn’t her boobs as many people are commenting (IMHO) but the fact that we’re so surprised by them…

(But we need to do something about the VPL)

  • quiltrx

She looks totally killa.  The only thing…I might do away with the gloves.  They look like the really thin, cheap gloves they give the volunteers for handling the quilts at quilt shows.

And poor ginger looks like he needs a nap and a good meal.

  • JaneDC

Sad boobs and a VTL (visible thong line).

  • Love Gaga posts.  She looks fabulous!  I think she makes the dress look so MUCH better than the model.

  • PeaceBang

I love it on the model. Gaga, not so much, for the reasons everyone else has mentioned: messy panty line and bad boob situation. I love her hair, though.

  • Lina_bee

The whole thing is a giant boob frame, with mammaries echoed by pearls. Boring.

  • ArrEssJay

I hope her superpower is making herself disappear.

  • where did her boobs come from? those were not there before!

  • kingderella

    ginger handler: frank
    gaga: victoria or emily?

  • Judy_S

    She’s just amazing.

  • M Carlson

    That’s a really beautiful dress.

  • ChaquitaPhilly

She forgot to wear the shoulder pads!

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

VPL and a tired Ginger Handler.  The whole team is clearly jet lagged.

  • It definitely looks better on the model! Her boobies are droopy and sad…but her butt looks fantastic.

  • Spanx alert.  I see panty lines!  It ruins what could have been wall-to-wall fabulousness.

  • MarissaLG

    Perfect Gaga

  • megalomania79

I love it.  I also love that that is what she arrives to the airport in.

  • Annabelle Archer

Am I the only one who is in love with her breasts?

    • formerlyAnon

Ha. I wouldn’t put it like that, but I do love that she doesn’t feel as though she has to always pretend that her boobs defy gravity.

  • formerlyAnon

The more I look at it the more I love it. This is the kind of artifice I love.

    Exactly my thoughts on HGH.

  • TLo, now would be the time to use the phrase, “Bow down, bitches.”

  • bluefish

Super Barbara Stanwyck on the scene.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Fabulous and fierce, as usual.  Love.huh.

  • CatherineRhodes

That dress is doing her figure no favors. In fact, she looks downright saggy.

  • What’s her superpower? Goddess of … I got nothin’, but I like that dress!

  • Sophie Collier

I freaking LOVE that dress!  Oh Gaga, you GO, girl!

  • KathKo

look at her : so casual, arriving at an airport like anybody…

  • OneTwoThreeFashion

    she needs spanx

  • frankystein123

  • all the haters will take anything and make it into an excuse to hate her
    she looks great
