Stone and Garfield

Posted on March 30, 2012

Well, shit.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield in NYC. Emma Stone wears a Rag & Bone Jacket.

Rag & Bone Hart Tweed Biker Jacket

You ladies can swoon over her jacket all you want. We certainly would if we were you. It’s gorgeous. But right now we’re kind of busy being jealous of Andrew’s entire look, head to toe. No, really. He’s rocking the shit out of those Chuck Taylors and skinny jeans. And that coat is to die.

Let’s just agree to hate them both for looking so good walking down the street in jeans. Assholes. You’re probably not even a real couple.

I would totally wear his outfit. All I need is that coat. And her jacket too, because I can never have too much gorgeous outerwear (though I live in Florida, so I just look at them and sigh for most of the year).

    • siriuslover

I would too. It’s got a nice gender-neutral vibe. I think I like his coat better than her coat.

      • buildmeatower

Ditto. His coat is fabulous and absolutely up my alley. I’ve made it a goal in life to collect all the hip-length-or-longer black coats I can find and wear every single one of them regularly. Up to three so far, one for every year I’ve had an income. ~grins~

    My!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_KLKIE5KG4N2DBAZ4GNAXTSQGXE sepi

His head is very small. Love the jacket, though!

    • rumcg66

And he has a pencil neck. The clothes are rockin’ but above the neck kills it form me.

I do LOVE her look. She’s fab.

      • AudreysMom

You know, his neck does kind of look freakishly long. Distracting, even if his clothes are nice. Her coat though? That is what I want.

        • http://twitter.com/chylde bellalozza

My chihuahua has a small head and a long neck with a skinny body, a bit like Garfield. Wonder if he trembles when Emma takes him out for a walk.

    • Spicytomato1

Maybe that’s why he poufs his hair up so much. Still, he’s a cutie and I love his style.

  • PastryGoddess

I would totally rock either of their outfits.  Loving the skinny jeans and chuck taylor combo.  And Emma’s coat…oh my…how I love that coat.

  • ChaCha_70

She’s so gosh darn adorable, I just can’t stand it.

  • miagain

    His jacket looks lumpy …

  • Rebecca Johnson

They look cute, but he could literally be a pole to hold up beans. Not my cuppa.

    • http://twitter.com/80nine CAMERON

how is he skinnier than she is? by like a lot too

      • formerlyAnon

As I commented below, they are me & my every boyfriend, back when I was young enough to date boys. At least 8″ taller than me and no more than 15 lbs. heavier is about right.

        • rawrgrowlrawr

My ex is 6’8, 170 lbs. I am 5’7, 120 lbs. The guy I am currently interested in is 6’3, 145 lbs. It seems we have the same taste in men.

  • http://twitter.com/angelkutty Rincey

They always seem to have the best jackets ever. I want them ALL.

    • Jill_3

I WANT. HER JACKET. SO MUCH.
Almost as much as I want her hair/boyfriend/life/I’m so creepy.

  • Anathema_Device

They both look great. I do covet her jacket. Immensely and intensely.  It is nice to see them out and about and not playing to the cameras for a change.

    • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

Only $595 and it’s yours!  A bargain, by Hollywood standards.

      • Anathema_Device

I know! But this is one of those items I would buy if I could afford it (other expensive items don’t always seem worth the price). I would wear the crap out of that jacket.

        • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

I’m with you on the love for this jacket.  And it’s almost close enough to a realistic price (for me) that I think, maybe …  What I need is a sister (or a really good friend) my size to share the jacket and its cost, like we did in junior high. :D

        • sweetestsith

Ditto! I would wear that jacket to pieces if I could afford it in the first place… It would go most things I own too. ::sigh:: Alas.

  • http://www.djplaw.com/ Tadiana

So cute, both of them.  Hope they’re having fun pretending to be a couple.

  • http://www.facebook.com/samuel.j.donovan Samuel Joesph Donovan

I hate his outfit–want her jacket like crazy though.

  • ccm800

    very cute. Almost regular.

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

Them two must have a shit-ton of coats. Wow.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mikemoralesLA Mike Morales

Her jacket is great and it’s nice to see a girl with a figure. And yeah, his look is perfect for him but does anyone else think he could stand to eat a sandwich or four?

  • http://twitter.com/lokiincharge Claire Philpott

    Want. Her. Jacket.

  • JasmineAM

He’s cute, but he shares the body type of Topher Grace. Come here and let me buy you a burger Spiderman!

    • 2ndhandchic

He looks smaller then her and I’d imagine she’s pretty small herself. I prefer my men a little meatier. Or at least to weigh more then me.

  • http://twitter.com/starlounging Ann M. Erickson

They are wearing the same pair of sunglasses. WHY?

    • marishka1

They aren’t quite the same. His are rounded and hers are more trapeziod-y

  • UrsNY

She looks great as usual. Love her jacket.

He consistently inspires a “meh”. I can objectively understand how others might like him, but he’s just too bland for me.

  • Pants_are_a_must

I’d love her coat if it didn’t look like it was made from boom mics sown together with leather.

  • CQAussie

Agree agree agree.  I really want that freaking tweed jacket.

  • TheOriginalLulu

They look really cute all casual n shit. I’m digging the matching shades.
I don’t love that jacket of hers, though. I just don’t usually like riffs on the classic motorcycle jacket. They always look silly to my eyes.

  • GenXcellent

I seriously just went to the website to buy that jacket…but alas, I’m guessing their “S” is not made for the 34 C/D crowd and XS and S were the only sizes available.

    • holdmewhileimnaked

i wear a small all the time & i’m way bigger than a c/d. i just dont button the top. if i wore anything bigger, unless i have gained a lot of weight, it wont fit anywhere else.

otoh, wow, if you wanna buy the vintage version i can sell you at least two of them. i had a totally different take on her outfit. which was: takes a lot of money to buy new stuff which makes you look like you bought old stuff. something like that.

  • MilaXX

I almost want to hate them for looking so causally cute.  Although seeing Andres Garfield reminds me we’re a bit over do for a Matt Smith post.

  • jilly_d

You guys can have him, TLo.  I don’t go in for the skinny hipsters so those jeans are doing nothing for me.  She, however, is a fence-jumper for me.  LUV. HUH.

  • Sara__B

Matching sunglasses? That’s a bit much, but they look great and refreshingly normal.

  • crash1212

Wow. What a great looking couple – real or not! I just love her…and the jacket ain’t bad either.

  • siriuslover

Thanks for the laugh! And I love Andrew’s look! I want to steal it for my husband.

  • TonyGo

I have an irrational aversion to his giraffe-like neck.  He bugs.  So sue me.  But, yeah, they both look adorable, dammit.

    • jessieroset

Great, now I can’t stop seeing it.  How have I not noticed it before?  The kid that plays the annoying Declan on Revenge has the same neck and it creeps the shit out of me.

  • giiiirrrr

Ok, Rag and Bone is usually zzzzzz, but that jacket, YUM!  There’s a dude in the picture?

  • http://twitter.com/lenabena_ Elena

Love her jacket. And love his chucks. I have the same ones in grey, and they are my favorite pair of shoes.

  • IAmJ

Meh. Not in love with either piece of outerwear, especially his. It looks lumpy and raggedy. Emma has great legs, though. Wow.

  • PeaceBang

Cute white people in jeans. Not that hard to do with great coats like that. Moving on.

  • ryaddictive

she looks unhappy enough for them to be a real couple.

  • NICHOLAS PASQUALE

He’s got such a long neck, is it weird that I find that attractive? He’s just so fucking cute, argh!

  • sarahofalessergod

I’m not sure which I want more — her jacket, her comic timing, or her boyfriend.  Who am I kidding?  I’ll take the jacket.

  • Judy_J

You’re right…I am swooning over her jacket.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

LMAO.  Love that last line.  ’Nough said.

  • nancylee61

I didn’t recognize her without her smile. She doesn’t look happy to be photographed. Ah, I truly wouldn’t want to be a celebrity for all of the money in the world.

  • eight_of_nine

I love the couples shots of these two!  They’re so cute and always look fantastic.  I think what I really like about them is that they do just look like a pair of normal people who happen to be extremely well-dressed.  There’s no purse-whoring going on, for instance.  They just look normal and cute.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1077090078 Megan Sullivan

I hope they’re a real couple! They’re both so cute separately, but even cuter together. And stylish. I want that jacket!

    • glennethph

They are. Ever since Spiderman (or after).

  • ratgirlagogo

When did people stop calling them Converse Hi-Tops  and start calling them Chuck Taylors? Yes this is an actual question.

    • TheOtherChristina

When I was in fourth grade, in 1985, it was all the rage to wear Converse hi-tops, pink on one foot and turquoise on the other, adorned with friendship pins. We called them Converse and Chucks interchangeably. Nobody ever said hi-tops because it was understood that hi-tops were the only option. A decade later it was the lo-tops but the story was the same.

    • Spicytomato1

Here’s my recollection…We called them Converse in the 70s when we wore them to play basketball. They were the only basketball shoe option until Nikes (white with either a red or turquoise swoosh) came along sometime in the late 70s. I remember that vividly because only a few kids could afford the Nikes (pronounced, incidentally to rhyme with “Mikes.”) while the rest of us forged ahead feeling dumb and poor in our old Converses.

Then sometime in the 80s when people started wearing them more as a hipster fashion statement, they became known more commonly as Chucks.

Funny now I have the exact same pair of Converse/Chucks that I wore for fifth grade basketball. Full circle, I guess.

Whatever you are from nature, keep to it; never
desert your own line of talent. Be what nature intended you for, and you
will succeed; be anything else, and you will be ten thousands times
    worse than nothing.

  • Allison Evans

I’m in love with Emma Stone. In my eyes, she can do no wrong.

  • DCSheehan

I’m swooning over her coat! Male version available? I’m not the biggest man in the world and I’m not above squeezing into women’s sizes if need be!

  • leave_Blake_alone

His coat is totally standard. I know you guys love nice coats (so do I!) but once we’re calling this “to die” we’ve set the bar for fabulous pretty low haven’t we?

  • cam_lo

I think his coat makes him look abnormally long and lanky. Like in a cartoonish way, not in a good, flattering way.

  • http://twitter.com/Eovaai Eovaai

They look awesome. Her coat is to die for.

  • Dan_In_NYC

This just reinforces what my haircut guy said this afternoon after giving me a WHAM bouffant.  “Big 80s hair is back for men.”  I’m up for it again – but the blow drying….. wah wahhh.

  • Rand Ortega

LOL! TLo, you’re probably right, but they’re just so adorbs, & they wear the cutest duds, all I want to do is ooooush them!
They’re like our (US) version of Matt Smith & Karen Gillan if they were a real/fake couple.

    • Rand Ortega

       Haha! Oops! Forgot AG’s British!

  • formerlyAnon

I think she’s outdoing him, probably because I love her jacket.

I have to laugh though – in silhouette they remind me of myself and any of the boys I used to date, when I was of an age to date boys.  I was skinny myself at that time, but I chose my men to be a minimum of 8″ taller and a maximum of 15 pounds heavier. My dad used to roll his eyes.

  • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

    Can’t hate.  Too cute.

  • http://twitter.com/jessicapippin Jessica Pippin

Agreed on all accounts! Hate ‘em for always looking so great. Love Emma’s jacket though. Argh.

  • erinbinek

Love the coat.  Too bad it’s $595.

  • Lisa

I WANT THAT JACKET!!!  I WANT IT NOOOOWWW!!!

I’m not even embarrassed that I’m doing a full-on Veruca Salt over it – it’s that amazing!

  • NCDFan

And they just look like regular people. Regular people with fabulous taste, but regular people.

  • Nonnah

They do look cute, but I was thinking “Aren’t we over the Chuck Taylors yet?”

  • DominoEstella

He’s such a big nerd, but a cute one.  I love her.. and she kind of has that nerdy thing going for her too, like she was the nerdy, smart, goofy red head in high school.. which wouldn’t have been that long ago.

  • bluefish

Andrew Garfield got a rave review in The New Yorker, along with PSH, for his performance in “Death of a Saleman.”  Ah, to be young and talented and acclaimed in NYC.  That boy is living a dream and it shows in his face.  They look both great and real.  Flove her jacket.   (He looks like a good handholder, too — very important.)

  • quiltrx

He’s out-cuted her.  Nice job, Mr. Beautiful Hair.  I do like her coat, though.

(Allow me to plug the Red Riding series here…he was the lead in the 1st one, and quite good.)

    • glennethph

Mr. Beautiful Hair…awesome!  Whenever I think of Andrew Garfield or Eduardo Saverin, I always think of this humongous pompadour.

  • Eileen Mannion

All I can see is the spitting image of Anthony Perkins.

  • Jecca2244

Rag and Bones just GETS how to do a blazer/jacket. gorgeous tailoring.

  • http://twitter.com/chylde bellalozza

Note: Emma is NOT holding an oversized handbag in view of the camera. Great “yacket” as my Norwegian grandma always said.

    • poggi

Yes, she is not ‘vanna whiting’ a borrowed bag. Maybe they are just walking own the street on their way somewhere like regular folks, really good looking and well dressed regular folks.

  • HobbitGirl

Has it become some sort of press junket tactic for people starring in movies together to go out as a couple? Maybe I’m just cynical, but this seems awfully convenient, with the Spiderman movie coming out and all…

  • http://twitter.com/nkk Nikki

Wow, they can share clothes, right down to the pants!

  • sockandaphone

its unfair how fabulous they are together.

  • ri_dic

Love her. They sure look good!

  • GTrain

Cute clothes but they look so fake, posed.

  • http://twitter.com/cornekopia Shawn EH

His proportions look like a drawing of a person. Like there’s no body under that coat from shoulders to knees. Which I guess makes him perfect to play a cartoon character.

  • aristida_girl

hahahahaha….you guys crack me up..and I do really want her jacket

  • mozzer0906

Love.Her.Coat.  He looks adorable, I love his entire look.  They look effortlessly chic.  Brava!

  • http://www.facebook.com/charlotte.horseman Charlotte Horseman

Ugh.. sorry, I find him completely ANTI everything I find good looking in a man.  I didn’t know they were a couple – she looks like she is on a “mercy date” with the class nerd.

  • AMAdams

Is it weird when I first saw the title I thought it read “Simon & Garfunkel?”

    Just me?

  • 909girl601world

She looks good. He looks ridiculous. Maybe a shorter coat would’ve helped his cause, I don’t know.

  • Madeline Small

Wow poofy hair on Andrew’s part, must have taken him a long time.Pr

  • frankystein123

Well, if you got it, then wear that shit-eating grin all you want!
