Salvatore Ferragamo’s Signorina Fragrance Launch

Posted on March 22, 2012

Darlings, it was Salvatore Ferragamo’s Signorina Fragrance Launch in New York City and of course, everyone showed up wearing Salvatore Ferragamo.

We really hate it when they get cute with the backdrop. We’re sure this looked great in person, but when you put a print dress in front of it and take a picture, it gets a little seizure-inducing.

AnnaSophia Robb

Cute dress. Suits her to a T. In fact, we think it looks better on her than it did on the model. Love the shoe choice.

Bianca Balti

Not really loving this one as much. It looks too much like a bathing suit and sarong to us. Hate the hem and hate that she wore the really matchy runway shoes with it.

Courtney Love

This works for her. She actually looks pretty good here. Or she would if she wasn’t falling out of her shoes.

Emma Roberts

Can’t stand the dropped crotch on the pants but we have to admit, those shoes make an otherwise non-descript outfit look a lot better than it would have without them.

Kate Mara

Again, it looks an awful lot like something you’d wear pool-side. And we hate the shoes.

Piper Perabo

This, we love. Bright and sexy. And the wine-colored shoes were a brilliant choice. It’s sexy-secretary-on-acid.

The prints make me think of Lisa Frank. Maybe I should start using her products in the office. The tigers were my fave.

      • ALBERTA

@Anathema_Device:disqus my nėighbor’s mom ėarned $15279 last ṁonth. she is ṁaking an inćomė on the intėrnėt and bought a $348400 housė. All shė did was gėt lućky and put into work the instrućtions laid out on this wėbsitė

    • Anathema_Device

Drop-crotch aside (boy is that a weird thing to say/write), I really love Emma’s outfit. Actually, I don’t mind the drop-crotch look on her.

I made a wrap skirt in the ’80s out of fabric almost identical to that in Kate’s dress, except mine was cotton and not shiny.

And while I usually don’t care for hankerchief hems, I like Bianca’s look more than you do. The colors and pattern are gorgeous, and it just suits her to a T.

    • Pants_are_a_must

I…don’t like any of those outfits? They all bunch up in weird places and they look like they’re made of sarong fabrics.

      • Nellie Wilson

Thank you. I’m glad I’m not the only one.

    • Rebecca Johnson

Can we please band together and outlaw “dropped crotch” anything?

      • Deitra S.

Right?  As if it isn’t bad enough that the look itself is fugly, but it also sounds like some sort of physical ailment like, “Suzie was born with a dropped crotch, but she manages to lead an almost completely normal life!” Or, “We had to move Nana Pearl into the nursing home after she came down with a raging case of dropped crotch.”  Abysmal!!!

        • AthenaJ

I think we need to have some sort of a fundraiser for dropped crotch awareness, inviting all of the celebrities who have at one time suffered from dropped crotch syndrome. It’ll be fabulous!!

          • Deitra S.

YES!  And each celeb can give a powerful testamonial of how dropped crotch syndrome has impacted their lives, but that they were able to overcome their crotch impairments & persevere.  It can be a whole, branded event with little rubber “We Shall Rise Again” Dropped Crotch Awareness bracelets and maybe a multi-entertainer theme song, kinda like with “We Are the World,” but more like “Crotches Standing as One,” or “Can’t Keep a Good Crotch Down.” I LOVE IT!

            • DCSheehan

I am totally joining this crusade. Will chain myself to something sturdy if need be. Flo Rider perhaps. Or Ving Rhames.

            • AthenaJ

I’ll start making calls and ordering the pins and car magnets – all ribbons shaped like a dropped crotch, of course!

    • Joseph Davidson

I’m confused: Is Bianca Balti also in the runway photo?  Did she model the dress that she’s wearing to the event?

I kind of enjoy the pool-side vibe of some of these looks.  I wouldn’t necessarily wear them to an evening event, but since this is an event for Salvatore Ferragamo, it makes sense.

      • Elizabeth Wiggs Maas

Yesh, she completely copied the runway look, down to her hair style. I just find that weird.

      • kimmeister

Wow, that model does really resemble Bianca, just tanner.

    • Cindi Williams

“Dropped Crotch”. Band name; I called it!

    • Sobaika Mirza

Boo, I like dropped crotches. Much better than a cameltoe.

      • ballerinawithagun

I love a drop crotch as long as it doesn’t veer into M. C. Hammer territory.

    • serenitynow02

I think the background makes them all look cray-cray.

And maybe it’s because she did such a good job on American Horror Story, but Kate Mara always looks to me like she’s about to stab someone.

    • MoHub

The bunched-front skirts look as if she accidentally tucked her skirt into her panties after a ladies’ room visit.

      • Spicytomato1

Yes, I thought the same thing!

    • AC

PIPER, why is it such a problem for you to smile?! You look soo much better when you do!

      • Liz Norris

I think she thinks she’s doing a pout, but in reality, she just looks stoned.

    • Jessica TallGirl Freeman

I love all the print dresses, but that background is seizure inducing without them.

      • Vera

I adore roses, but that background isn’t working for the event.

    • FashionShowAtLunch

Dropped crotches are gross.  They make you look like you took a dump in your pants.

      • kimmeister

Exactly, and then when you wear the pants cropped, it looks like you have weirdly short goat legs.

    • Ms_Flyover

Does Kate Mara ever smile?  I’m beginning to think there is a genetic disorder in Hollywood that may require a telethon.

      • alyce1213

It may be a Mara thing. I’ve seen only one photograph (among recent hundreds) of her sister smiling — on the Japan tour.

    • NurseEllen

LOVING the first dress, especially with the jacket as worn by the model.  Oh, to work someplace where I would get to wear pretty clothes!  As it is, whatever I wear to work gets stuffed in a locker all day as we parade around in green pajama scrubs…..doesn’t give one much incentive to dress up in the morning.

    • Sara__B

Too many sarong-type dresses on one red carpet make me want to watch a Hope & Crosby road movie.

      • alyce1213

LOL.  It makes me feel like I’ve already seen one.

    • dress_up_doll

I think your sexy-secretary-on-acid went out and got herself a promotion. How about sexy-executive assistant-on-acid? This look is the business! Love.It.

    • Brian @ PWYJudges

Bianca Balti is serving up some serious face, which totally makes up for the napkin hem.

      • MilaXX

Nothing makes up for a napkin hem. They are always hiddy.

      • Sara__B

Bianca Balti is styled EXACTLY like the runway model. She might actually BE the runway model.

    • Ruth Gottesman

Who’s the designer of Piper Perabo’s outfit? I definitely agree with you, it’s a fantastic play on sexy secretary.

      • MilaXX

Like the outfit but either her makeup or the fake tanner are too heavy. She look orange and plastic.

    • Leigh Anne Statton

Emma’s drop-crotch pants are just like Jane’s on Happy Endings last night, when Jane came out of her trance, looked at the pants said “OMG I look like a Turkish whoremaster”

      • MilaXX

This would have looked so much better if they were pencil pants. That droppy crotch looks like she just went poo in her pants.

    • Vera

Oh, Courtney. She does need to be graded on a curve, doesn’t she.

    • unbornfawn

Each and every outfit looks worse in front of that backdrop!

    • IAmJ

How on earth does Courtney Love score these types of invites?

      • AthenaJ

Ugh, I don’t know. She looks a mess here, just like every other day.

    • alyce1213

I don’t like anything here at all, except the shoes on Emma Roberts.
A backdrop of roses with these prints? What were they thinking ‽ ‽ ‽

Courtney Love “looks pretty good?” Really? Really?????

    • P M

Oh god – the print against print is making me nauseous. No, seriously, I now have a headache.

    • kimmeister

I think I need a “leopard print” dress just like AnnaSophia’s!

Love both Bianca’s and Piper’s looks, mostly because I am a sucker for a turquoise/blue combo.  I’m even willing to overlook the napkin hem on the former, which I normally hate.

    • Sophie Collier

I like the beachy, sarongy dresses even though it feels a bit too early for them just yet.  Not a fan of the harem pants look, but hopefully that’s just an aberration on the fashion front and not a full-force trend.

    • DCSheehan

Was this a day event or outside in the sun? So many of these dresses look like the women are attending a poolside barbecue party. Even Courtney Love who looks like the scary drunk neighbour who ends up throwing up in the jacuzzi.

    • Dixie Murphy Ross

Does Piper’s head looked PS to anyone else? I mean, seriously bad pose.

      • NoNeinNyet

Piper always does that pose, too. It’s like someone told her it looked really good once so she just kept doing it.

        • Dixie Murphy Ross

          It’s totally hot…

If you dig that whole “your head is discomboblated! CALL A DOCTOR!” thing.

    • ccm800

And Bitch face winner this week: Piper Parabo – in a land slide victory

      • Shawn EH

Beat me to it by far!

    • PeaceBang

Absolutely hate the clothes (the outfit on Piper Perabo is OK, but just okay) – they’re so “Gelb’s anniversary party in Boca.” Everyone looks crappy and Courtney Love is disturbing.
