Blumarine Fall 2012 Accessories

Posted on March 07, 2012

Darlings, let’s talk accessories, because we know you love to.

The look for Blumarine’s Fall 2012 accessories is bold, bright and bling-y. Consider:

We don’t think we can fully support metallic bags that spell out “CHIC” and “WOW” with rhinestones punctuating them on anyone over the age of … oh, let’s be generous this time and say … nine. The shoes are kind of fun, though. We’re not loving the big sneaker-style closures at the ankle, but we’d have to see them paired up with an outfit to see how they work. We’re thinking they’d look pretty incredible with jeans or skinny pants. So our question to all you Bobs and Bettys out there in the audience is this:

Blumarine’s Bling-y Fall 2012 Accessories: YEA or NAY?

Yea…they’re fun.  Must only be worn with the right outfit though…lord knows most won’t.

  • Jasmine Moten

    I really love the shoes.

  • Like the unusual grip/strap on the little silver clutch, but otherwise, OH GOD NO.

  • clatie

They’re fun to look at but if I saw someone wearing them, I’d think fashion victim.

    • where did you see somewhere wearing them?? i would kill for this shoes 🙂

  • They look cheap to me.  If I’m going to wear something that looks that cheap, I’m gonna buy it for cheap, too.

    •  That’s what I was thinking! It looks like stuff you buy at that corner of the flea market.

  • MilaXX

YEA Except for the 2 bags with words on them I kinda love these. My favs are the clutch and the pewter(?) boots.

  • demidaemon

    Tacky. NAY.

  • Ditto what you said.  Cute shoes, but a big NO for purses with words.  Just.  No. (but take off the words, and they’d be pretty cute in their own right.)

  • The shoes – IN.  Very fun.
    The bags with words… out.

  • Eddy Monsoon.

  • giiiirrrr

LOVE the shoes with the sneaker closures – so much cooler than just sparkly booties!  The bags are awful.  They look like knockoffs of knockoffs.

  • No. Nononononono. These just scream “tacky” to me.

  • understateddiva

The shoes are sick!  Very glam-rap.

  • hughman

Ew. It’s like what the Mean Girls at Moon Base High School would wear.

  • love the shoes. hate the bags. funny how one comes off slick and futuristic, and the other is all gaudy gradeschool action.

  • Nay. Bulky ankle trappings only work on pin legs. And, not great on them. “Chic”? Do tell. “Wow”? Surprised not in Comic Sans font.

  • In the words of a fluffy little Easter chick, “cheep, cheep, cheep.”

  • NasserShaheen

Yep, shoes in, bags out. *grumbles that women get all the cool stuff*

    • And they run up debt* paying for all the trendy crap too. So, don’t feel too left out. 🙂

(*note- not me, I avoid fashion victimy stuff, but you know it happens)

  • Kelly Ridings

With the exception of (possibly) that hobo bag, I hate all of those.  Those shoes just seem to me like what you would wear if you were planning on going as a “Sexy Basketball Player” for Halloween.  I just can’t support that.

  • With you on the shoes: they’d be fantastic with skinny pants, and I’d definitely try them. (Not sure I can pull off shoes THAT shiny, though.) HATE the bags.

  • BazoDee

YEA – Love the shoes worn right -but there is tons of potential for them to go very very wrong. Words on bags have to go.

  • Sally Brownson

I love the shoes. I would wear the blue ones with my white skinny jeans. I am 20 though, so I think they’re definitely a more youthful style 😛

  • I don’t know when and where would I wear them, but I want all the shoes right now.

  • The “Chic” bag looks like schwag for that 70s disco group.

  • DeborahLipp

    I’m in favor of fun.

  • sockandaphone

love the shows, but the purses are kinda…tacky?

  • ChelseaNH

Overall, it’s an OUT.  Too juvenile and magpie (“Ooh, sparkly!”), and the velcro closures at the ankle are clunky.

  • sweet_potato

3,6, and 7 are cute, everything else is fug. Let’s see which ones end up on Nicki Minaj.

  • Snailstsichr

The shoes look like they are designed to hide an ankle monitor. Nay, unless you are under house arrest.

  • Holy Space-age Disco Queen, Batman!  Not for me but I’m sure some people could rock those shoes.

    • Whever

The old Adam West Batman was exactly what I thought of when I saw the word bags- to be honest, it kinda makes me like them. I almost thought the WOW bag was spelled out POW, and I was prepared to be really excited.

  • Vickiefantastico

What the…? Sorry, I had to pull myself out of that stupor. Did I just see snakeskin blue high top sneaker high heels? Um, yeah, NAY.

  • Judy_J

I’ve never been a fan of metallic anything.  OUT.

  • Synnamin

Pretty sure I wore something similar by LA Gear, while in Junior High. NAY

    • Andrea Rossillon

DUDE I know, right? How is everyone else missing the fact that these are puffy Reebok high tops, circa 1988? Christ.

    • Mine were pink. I think I wished they had heels on them.

  • I have a really weird obsession with loving and rocking some extraordinarily hideous shoes…so obviously I NEED those chrome atrocities.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Bags = Nay.  Boots = with the exception of the shiny silver ones, big YEAH.  LOVE the silvery turquoise ones and the other two animal skin ones also.

  • Lilithcat

It all looks cheap, and the shoes are ugly.

  • DesertDweller79

Nay.  Hate the metallic, faux-sneaker shoes.

  • There is something gutsy about a bag that says “CHIC” right on it in big metallic letters, but … no.

  • I’m old enough that it just seem all too disco.  How much metallic do you need?
    Don’t like them.

  • Last train to Tackytown, now boarding!  Everyone strap on your metallic shoes and grab your ludicrous bags.

    • This is knock off street vendor heaven right here.  I can see it now.

      •  you are Sooooo right.  Plus lots of really cheapified variations at the Walmarts across the land.

  • Scarlet39

  • BrooklynBomber

oh, let’s be generous this time and say … nine.

Thank you. I can see some redeeming qualities in the solid (non reptile) shoes, but that’s it (and it’s not saying much).

  • I feel like I just fell into Contempo Casual circa Clueless. Only you know, WAYYYY adjusted for inflation.

  • formerlyAnon

Yea, in theory. Young girls in jeans, yes. A single shiny metallic accessory, yes.

The ladies who lunch, or shiny shoes AND purse, I’m voting no.

  • Married to the Mobwear

  • Nay way. I can’t hang with shoes that combine all the style of sneakers and all the comfort of heels.

  • shoes are so YEA i’m massaging my feet in expectation.

  • ccm800

  • butterflysunita

  • Maluca

    Umm, NO.

  • another_laura

I’m just almost never a bling fan, I always think “10th Avenue streetwalker.”

    Therefore, NAY

  • Hiddy

  • kim i

    jeans only, but yeah.

  • afabulous50

    crack whore meets high end?

  • LesYeuxHiboux

The bags are awful, but I love the shoes (despite the fact that they are completely unwearable for me).

  • PeaceBang

I think Gwen Stefani needs the boots, and I’d love to see them on her. The bags are an atrocity.

  • Want, want, WANT the shoes. Not the snakeskin-looking ones so much, but those glossy finish ones (what is that, anyway, just patent leather reflecting light weirdly?) are making me want to spend hideous amounts of money in the quest for their acquisition.

  • AuntieAnonny

Love the shoes, everything else looks like crap they sell on the Wildwood boardwalk.

  • Sneaker heels have been done and done. Pass on the whole line…

  • Leslie Kim

i like the shoes in abstract (i won’t even touch the purses…. i sort of hate words of any sort, even logos, on most clothes/accessories),even the sparkly reptiles (which i would ordinarily loathe) but i think it would take a heart-breakingly fashionably chic and amazingly special person to wear them (i.e., not me, or most of of the population, for that matter).
so basically, i think, like most of the people here it seems, that the shoes are IN, and the purses are tacky and OUT.

  • Aly Light

Yummy shoes. I couldn’t care less about bags, but the fish scale boot at the top is calling to me…

  • Thanks for helping me find one place I won’t be shopping this spring.  Tacky, tacky, tacky.

  • meh. they’ll look dated next week.

  • Ms_Flyover

Kardashian OUT.  (That’s out with a large dose of tacky.)

  • holdmewhileimnaked

i loved the thumbnail to death. then i opened up the post & there are those stoopid socks & the letters spelling…..things…..things, terrible things out totally unnecessarily & then i saw the sneaker bands & it’s just like too too much of lots of overblown & overburdened nothing shoving out the something underneath.d

    edited to add:
i hadnt even seen the oyster cracker sized rhinestones yet.

  • CatherineRhodes

  • S. Jenna Lutz

If you got rid of the ankle wrap, the shoes could be kinda cute with the right outfit. But as they are? out out out OUT. With a side of the worst comment “Could have been good, but completely missed instead”.

  • VioletFem

YEAH. Especially the sleek non-textured ones. Certainly won’t work for everyone but the right person wearing the right outfit could totally rock these shoes.

  • aristida_girl

Yea! Ghetto-Fab! (I am a sucker for the shiny)

  • Ugh.  I don’t like the idea of mixing high heels with every other type of shoe (high heeled hiking boots!  High heeled converse! ick), so this is a big NAY for me.  Although I am counting the seconds until I see the IN or OUT post with Fergie wearing a pair.

As far as the bags, I’d feel like I was walking around in a old school batman episode.  Can I get one that says “POW!”?

  • TheOtherChristina

Hork. I have not gained enough distance from the tragedy of Manolo Tims to be able to endure this crap.

  • NAY. The way the materials are used makes the bags look cheap and the shoes look clunky. Not flattering.

  • CDarcey

If RPDR does a show with a workout theme, I think they would be great!  Otherwise, not so much!  I say Nay.

  • Haley Buchanan

Crazy fun, and they have a great sense of humor!  YEA!

  • NAY. The shoes look almost identical to something a friend wore for her “Slutty Astronaut” Halloween costume.

I like the hobo bag, though, but it’s just not enough for me to forgive the rest of it.

  • mjude

    do not like.

  • This just reads Forever 21 or Ross Dress for Less to me.

  • AthenaJ

Edina Monsoon would (literally) fall ALL OVER these!!

  • gsk241

Can the python trend please be over?  Why would anyone want their shoes/bag/dress/etc. to look like a dead snake?  Ew.  That just ruined the whole thing for me, so I say NAY.

  • Fun but impractical.

  • meowing

Nay.  We’ve morphed from cloven-hoof shoes to plowing-the-back-40-acre shoes.  Can’t we have something pretty, wearable and yet trendy?

  • Nay. Tacky bags and fugly shoes. Not liking this at all.

  • prettybigkitty

    Nay.  Cankles.

  • Ennovi_R

    nay. :/

  • kimmeister

Gonna have to go with NAY on these.

  • saanrio

    EW.  NAY.

  • gabbilevy

Nay! These are crappy mall accessories!

  • Isy

Nay! Sneaker pumps have been done to death, and this is just a tackier version of something that’s already ridiculously tacky. And I say this as someone who owned boots that looked exactly like this less than a decade ago. No no no.

  • unexpected Yea.

    • Lisa

      I know.  Who knew?

  • Sara__B

I can see young women with the right attitude wearing this stuff for a night on the town. Everyone else will look cheap and/or desperate.

  • poketom

  • aimee_parrott

A qualified YEA.  I hate the bags, especially the CHIC and WOW bags.  Good grief.  And I hate the super-shiny shoes in the middle.  But the more snake-skin looking ones I think are pretty cool, and could be great.  I think with skinny jeans only.

  • Joyce VG

YEA for the shoes. I flashbacked to junior high when I saw those ankle sneaker enclosures! Ahh the 80’s. Gotta love it.

  • Elias Pineda

  • buildmeatower

The only accessories I care about are shoes, but I want all of them delivered to my closet asap. I’ll find something appropriate to wear them with, promise.

  • BigWhiteGrannyPanties

I am not loving them.  They look like something made of plastic you could get at PayLess Shoes.  And they have a high abuse potential if worn with something even slightly wrong.  And if this style makes it to the masses, oh horrors.  I can see women perched on top of these shiny tennis shoe stilettos with leopard sweat pants and a snuggie.  No no no no.  Send them away.

  • michelle shields

  • Cankle boots.

  • RedRaven617

    Nope. Looks cheap.

  • bitterk

    Tacky as shit

  • Lauren Bradshaw

The shoes, yea. The bags, nay.

  • YourBaloneyDontGotNoSecondName

In a shrill Michael Kors voice: “Fergie! Fergie! Fergie!”

  • drdirection

    You are effing kidding me

  • marywv

    NAY. ewy

  • sleah_in_norcal

nope.  can’t get excited.  maybe if there was some more color involved.  i am so tired of neutrals…

  • Fordzo

It all looks like the sort of stuff Lindsay Lohan would wear.

  • ooopsnevermind

LOVE these shoes! Would totally rock them with dark skinny jeans.

  • My first reaction was “GAH!” so, no. They look cheap.

  • NAY

  • Those shoes could definitely be fabulous with the right outfit and person. The bags with text on them are, of course, ridiculous.

  • fashionablylate

The bags are hideous, but the shoes rock!

  • Melvis Velour

TOTAL NAY (making goat noises)!  So this is where Kanye came up for the design of his hideous $6K beaded boots…

  • miwome

Shoes with skinny pants, YEA. (Heidi! Make these your “fuck you, Seal” shoes!) And we have to pretend the first sneakery pair–the just supershiny silver ones–never happened. The rest, NAY.

    • Ooh! Maybe that will be her next design for New Balance! I can’t wait till she makes the next Project Runway contestants design a look to wear with them!!!

  • Yeah for the shoes, because they made something pretty with mixing sport shoez with disco with crocodile like…
Nay for the bags. If they really were great, they woudn’t need it written all over them.

  • MissAnnieRN

Nay.  I can’t get behind sequin, stiletto high-tops.

  • N-A-Y

  • newtonGOTbeaned

  • I love the boots… I think they would be fierce as hell with a low otherwise low key skinny jean and sweater look. The purses on the other hand… no. just no. So a ya-no?

  • Fabulous (minus the wow and chic)
but wear these outside of NYC or LA (in the US respectively) and people will attempt to perform a lobotomy on you…

  • Nancy Lehet

Oooohhh, you could wear the ‘wow’ bag upside down and it would say ‘mom’…. how sweet 😉

  • Louise Bryan

Like the shoes.  In general, hate the bags.  Especially the bowling bag…..

  • I like the bag that says Chic, but then they killed it with the Chic on it! Durh, that bag actually has a nice shape and good hardware and could be a fun vacation purse!

  • howdoilook

Oooooh, it all looks so scaley! Love it.

  • where can i buy this??? im in love!
