WERQ: Michelle Williams in Christian Dior

Posted on February 16, 2012

Miss Michelle? A word.

Michelle Williams attends premiere of “My Week with Marilyn” in Paris in head-to-toe Christian Dior.

Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture Collection/Model: Joan Smalls (IMG)

Two words, actually: Thank you.

You see, we are, at this very moment, wrangling luggage packed with 8 days’ worth of Fashion Week outfits through Penn Station and onto an Amtrak train, which, as you can imagine, is leaving us quite stressed and frazzled. We just don’t have the time or energy at the moment to discuss the ins or outs of your look, dear. So imagine how happy we were to see you in this and realize we have not one critical thing to say. You WERQ that twee-as-fuck shit, girl! Sure, it’s a “Princess Barbie goes to The Oscars” dress, but we don’t care. You look fabulous, darling. Snaps up!

Okay, that was way more than two words.

She does love the “girly-girl”, doesn’t she?

      • Anonymous

Apparently I’m a lot more girly than I thought, because I love this too. It’s so frilly and French, according to what I thought was French when I was eight. But I love it!

    • Greg Yoder

Yeah, she’s princess, but she’s kind of princess-with-an-attitude in those shots.  She looks great.

    • Anonymous

Wow you guys must have loaded up in NY-that is one backhanded WERQ!!
I suppose if you were going for princess barbie it would be a WERQ but can we actually get past the pink elephant in the room?

    • Anonymous

That shoe is too heavy.  Other than that, fabulous!

      • Anonymous

Agree, the shoes are wrong, but she looks adorable, nevertheless.

      • Libby Rhoman

Doesn’t TLo normally deride platforms with gowns? (To say nothing of peeptoe platforms…)

    • Tashina Savage

My fashion icon! She never gets it wrong for me!

    • http://twitter.com/samo_samo Angela Toomer

Pixie cute! She’s definitely making this look work.

    • Anonymous

loathe the silver hooves she paired with it..all aboard gentlemen!

      • Anonymous

Right?  My first thought was, “Oh no, platforms with a gown!”

        • Anonymous

           My thoughts exactly!

        • Anonymous

I think if she didn’t have the extra height, she might be too short for the key aspect of the gown–the shape of the hem and skirt–to work, though. It might just turn into a pink ballgown, without the interest of the “i’m a tulip bulb!” aspects.

    • Sam Corbett

In a word? NO! In two words? GOD, NO!!!

      • Lauren Maier

        I have to agree.

        • Saoirse Lee

Thirded. This is screaming Big Fat Gypsy Wedding to me. All she needs is some LED lights in the bow or something…

          • Lauren Maier

I wasn’t going to go THAT far, but now I’m on the floor laughing like a lunatic and all I can say is, yes, you are totally right.  XD

            • http://www.GiftedCollector.com Nancy Abrams

Is her daughter dressing her? She looked so sharp at the Bafta awards, then she does this?

            • Lauren Maier

Oh my – Maybe that’s it!  Her daughter is picking out her clothes because she thinks her mom is a Hollywood princess!  Except the daughter kept the tiara.

    • Anonymous

Ugh. I just want her to go away. She looks like my barbie birthday cake I had when I turned 6.

    • Scott Isaacs

      Two things:

First, yes: brava! Very well done.
Second, I think this clinches it. I am not a fan of twee. I hereby recuse myself from further judgment of Michelle Williams, and leave it to those who are less allergic to twee-ness.

      • Anonymous

I feel about pretty much everything Michelle Williams wears the way TLo and the kittens feel about Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift & Lea Michele’s choices: “Of course.”

    • Anonymous

I do love a pretty pink gown.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Patrick-Cleary/1201575213 Patrick Cleary

Fantastic actress, real beauty, but why does she make that “I have a half-eaten Gobstopper in my mouth” face whenever she’s on the red carpet? Is that just her face?

      • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Urban Gypsy aka Tess

There’s a hint of the patented Zellwegger sour-puss in these images. I can’t unsee it. And the gown is pretty but so super twee that I can’t get behind it though I kind of like it on the model. It looks more ironic on the model, and that I can go with.

      • Anonymous

in her defense (she can thank me later), the last picture is a close-up of the first shot.  so…yeah that face she is making is tragic but…it may have only been made once…on this particular outing?

does that even count as a defense?  Jesus, i’d make a shitty lawyer.

    • http://twitter.com/sebwfu Shannon Beamer

Why am I alone in disliking this thing?  I don’t mind girly, but good lord, let’s draw the line somewhere.  Bubblegum pink, flowers, AND a bow?  I say no.  And I will vote “OUT” in protest, even if it’s not an in/out post.  Also, those shoes have GOT to go.

      • Anonymous

You are NOT alone, Shannon!!  This is a Pepto pink nightmare and I hate it.  Sorry, TLo, but OUT.

      • http://twitter.com/Moondragonic Charlotte

Don’t worry, you’re definitively not alone. There’s too many overly cute elements and it just looks like she has been disneyfied.

        • Anonymous

           Yes. I agree 100%.

        • Anonymous

I love it! The “disneyfication” of Michelle Williams. Another term for the old TLo dictionary/thesaurus.

      • http://twitter.com/aStudiobytheSea a Studio by the Sea

And she appears to be sucking a lemon, like Stonewall Jackson.

        • Anonymous

Never would I have thought I’d read “Stonewall Jackson” with a reference to “Michelle Williams”.  I think I smell her next artsy “not exactly an impression” biopic!

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HREPOWNBVUBRIVPQCF3ST2IKDM Euphory

The dress is actually nice.  Notice how fierce and almost edgy it looks on the model?  Because the model didn’t style it like a Barbie!

It looks awful on Michelle.  Almost a Regina George’s Sad Mom effect.

        • http://twitter.com/urban_gypsy Urban Gypsy aka Tess

          Yes! Just yes!

    • Lauren Maier

Sorry boys, I have to disagree.  Twee-as-fuck is still twee-as-fuck.  Once upon a time I would have worn this dress, but that was when I was five and playing “Pretty Pretty Princess”.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Agree with other nonlikers! Superstar Barbie with stripper shoes!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/jody.corbett Jody Corbett

OUT. Ew.  That pink looks dirty.

    • Anonymous

That hair color is so great on her, and her skin looks amazing. The dress is a bit frothy for my tastes, but she does look really good in it. It doesn’t overwhelm her at all when it easily could.

    • http://twitter.com/BookcaseHat Emily

I like the red nails & lips with that color pink dress, but this whole look is giving me a toothache. I don’t normally mind how twee she is, but this is a little much.

    • http://twitter.com/DarthJaeda Jaeda Laurez

From the neck up, i love it, but the dress is a bit of a mess, no? It looks like my daughter’s costumes after they get old and start pilling and the embroidery is pulled. The feathers, the lining- it all feels very…heavy.

    • BerlinerNYC

Isn’t she several years too old to be having a Quinceañera?

      • Anonymous

Even though I like the dress, that is just too fab a comment not to like :)

      • Anonymous

Actually laughed out loud here.  Nicely done.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Charlotte-Henßen/708157034 Charlotte Henßen

Twee to the twee tweetastic! Looks great though.

    • Anonymous

This is how Gwyneth P should have looked when she chose pink that year she won the Oscar. Fabulous.

    • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

Wow, this is so totally cheesy…. HATE.

    • http://twitter.com/ElizabethWSVH Elizabeth Wakefield

Ahhh there’s something about her smirk that always bugs me.  Can’t see past that here.

    • Anonymous

I thought you guys didn’t like a heavy platform looking shoe with a ball gown?

      • Anonymous

What about the GINORMOUS bow on her chest? :)

        • Anonymous

          I KNOW.  UGH.

      • http://twitter.com/ILikeShiny Cindi Williams

I think TLo would say even hard and fast rules (like no platforms with ball gowns) can be broken. So much is subjective. That’s why I love these comment threads. :)

    • Anonymous

Agree with your assessment. Now, call the porters to help you with your luggage, then settle in with lap robes, champagne, little sandwiches and cakes for the journey home, you fabulous things, you.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Perfect color and shape for her. HATE the shoes with it.  How many time does it need to be said?  No platforms with long gowns.

    • Anonymous

      Platforms with a gown? Hmmmm.

    • Anonymous

Good enough to eat.  She looks great and I love the dress and kinda of like the red manicure too just for the hell of it.

    • Anonymous

Nope, sorry. Not a WERQ for me. This is just WAY too fairy princess-y for a grown woman. And what’s with the hands-on-hip thing? Did she walk around all night like that? Did she keep her hands on her hips while she was sitting too?

Anyway, safe home, TLo! Come back soon!

      • Anonymous

Except for when she was holding her train.

Michelle and Rooney need to go shopping together one day.

        • Anonymous

           A Michelle-bot?!?  That sounds fabulous!

    • Anonymous

Hooray! I love it, and somehow the red nails and lips de-twee it a bit for me.

    • Anonymous

Don’t love the shoes or the nail polish, but LOVE the lipstick!  That pinky-red shade is really flattering on her and she should deploy it more often!

    • http://twitter.com/democracydiva Democracy Diva

This is silly. TLo, get some sleep and reassess in the morning. ;-)

    • MilaXX

I’m not sure I like it. It’s like that boring gray column Angelina wore the other day. All the parts are nice, but the total package just ends on a flat note. Yes it’s a cute dress and for a change I think the peep toe pump works. The makeup up is great, the more saturated lip keeps it adult looking The tiny diamond necklace is a nice, delicate touch and yes she is wearing that dress like it owes he money and she needs to pay the rent. BUT it’s a Barbie pink dress on someone who already walks a fine line in twee territory. Really it’s not n OUT even though I gave Angelina one. (what tipped the scales for Angelina was she’s also on my celeb hate list), but I’mma need to see some grown up clothes next time.

    • http://twitter.com/MandySCG MandyJane

That is a really pretty dress. Sometimes a girl needs to go out looking like a princess!

    • Sara__B

She’s 31. I’m going into insulin shock. Pink. Bow. Feathers? Silver. Flowers. Train. Matching lips and fingernails. Pursed lips. Good grief!

    • Anonymous

Matilda obviously picks out every outfit.

      • BerlinerNYC

Yes, I just wrote that to my friend today! It would be the perfect outfit for a Mommy & Me Princess Tea Party at home. Here, not so much.

    • Anonymous

Sorry guys. This is so sickly sweet it is making me nauseous.

    • Courtney Hellams

This is the least WERQ-worthy dress I have EVER seen! WERQ means fierce…not twee!

      • Anonymous

I cannot even compare this to some of the Iman WERQs that we’ve seen.  Isn’t she a good benchmark of WERQ?

    • http://mennamachine.livejournal.com/ Mennamachine

Really boys? Because I don’t like a single thing about this ensemble. The shoes are atrocious with this dress, and then there’s the dress… I would have loved this dress when I was 6 years old, because It’s a 6 year old’s dress (at least it would be with straps). I can handle it on the model with the fierce/dramatic hair and makeup, but MW looks like she’s playing dress-up.  Especially with all the hands-on-hips/pursed lips she’s got going on, she looks like she’s playing with the kids she’s babysitting and trying to get them to change and go to bed.

      • Anonymous

You nailed everything I dislike about this look.

    • Anonymous

But what about the platform shoes?

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1248212910 Jessie Melcher Brown

I think its funny that she puts forth this sweet and innocent act, when her look as a teen on Dawson’s Creek was anything but.  Its like she’s going backwards like Benjamin Button.

Dress is pretty, hate the shoes.

    • http://profiles.google.com/misslauraschultz Laura Schultz

It looks like a bad bridesmaid gown. That bow on her chest just looks messy too.

    • Anonymous

Here’s what I love: Seeing a picture of this somewhere else and thinking, “Oh, I can’t wait to see what TLo has to say about this!”

But aren’t you hating the platforms with the gown?  And isn’t the lip/nail color too matchy-matchy?  And doesn’t she look WAY too much like cake?  And couldn’t we all go for some cake right about now? Dibs on the corner piece…

      • Anonymous

I constantly do that while browsing through celebrity/fashion websites :-) WWTLoS? (What Would TLo Say?)
I’m currently waiting for a review of La Blanchette I saw yesterday….

        • Anonymous

Yes, let’s get the La Blanchette review!  I kind of feel like a celebrity hasn’t really worn a dress unless TLo have said something about it…

    • lilibetp

I’m not sure I like the platform shoes.  And I’m not convinced that the red fingernails are the best choice – they kind of distract from the dress, I think.

    • Anonymous

      Yes Tlo yes!
To her haters she is says “F you! I am the Queen of Twee!! Eat it!”Well said Michelle!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506473106 Mori Clark

she needs to stop pursing her lips so tightly together in every shot, especially if shes gonna wear that colour lipstick. it looks like she’s holding on a pair of wax lips. cute dress tho.

    • Anonymous

I really like this look a lot, although it’s not something that’s usually to my taste.  I think the eyeliner is a bit heavy, though.

    • Anonymous

But why is that gown growing hair — only on one side of it’s body?

      • Anonymous

Oh, I see in the below comments that the “hair” is actually “feathers.”

So why is that gown growing wispy, hair-like feathers?

    • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

I’m not crazy about pink, but that is a pretty spectucular dress.  Hate the shoes.

    • Anonymous

      No. WAY too princessy.

    • Anonymous

      She looks wonderful…..

    • Anonymous

Hate the platforms-with-a-gown, but love the red lips and nails with this. Gorgeous.

      • Anonymous

Yes indeedy . . .  (In fact, I’d have leaped on Miss Joan’s runway shoes and then tried to find a complementary gown!)

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1303837450 Lauren Dorsee Dillon

She loves to put her hands on her hips, doesn’t she? A juxtaposition to the twee?

    • Anonymous

That dress needs a different posture to look it’s best but it’s definitely Michelle. “Twee-as-fuck” indeed.

    • Anonymous

Oh, when I was five years old I would have been so thrilled to wear this dress.  But I would have added a tiara and a silver wand.

    • Sarah Thomas

Okay, that dress was made by forest creatures.

      • Anonymous

        Awesome.

      • Anonymous

Leave the sewin’ to the women! You go get some trimmin’!  :D

    • Cathy S

It worked better with the sandals the model was wearing but it’s February so I’ll give her a break. She looks really great.

    • Anonymous

I love it.  I even love these particular platforms with it.  I don’t know why it’s not sending me into insulin shock, but it’s not.

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

There are about sixteen things I don’t like about this look – the shoes, the pink, the bow, the pursed lips – but she’s IN. She looks lovely. Somehow the whole thing is working and working well.

    • Anonymous

You’re overtired.  Couture pedigree notwithstanding, it’s homecoming princess.
(Not one single thing??  I could start with platforms with a long gown.)
I do approve of the simple jewelry.

    • Anonymous

I actually think these particularly pumps are kind of brilliant with this particular dress on this particular girl.  Love the color, and the dark toenail polish helps, too.  The shoes on the model are reminiscent of ballet slippers, which suit the dress in an obvious kind of way, but if Michelle had worn them we’d all be in a sugar-induced coma by now.  I don’t know, I think there is just enough sophistication in the dress to keep it from being unbearably twee.  It is certainly HER dress, completely.  She can retire the damn thing, like a star athlete’s jersey.

    • http://twitter.com/delysia_lafosse Delysia LaFosse

Not my favorite, but she certainly does look pretty and at least there isn’t a Peter Pan collar involved. But Michelle honey? Stand the fuck up straight. Also, her best pictures are always the candid, unposed ones – why does she always purse up her mouth like that for photographers?

    • Anonymous

Arrgh, guys — I first thought “twee, ugh” but then I realized that you’re right and she is working that twee shit. She’s still annoying, but this is as well-played as I’ve seen her, dammit.

    • Anonymous

Shoes are a little aggressively silver for me, but otherwise it’s gotta be a WERQ. Because I ought to dislike that pink, girly, princess dress and I don’t, I think it looks great.

And her skin and/or makeup is just fabulous because her coloring should not be able to stand up to that dress but it does.

      • Pennymac

I agree. Red head + pink is usually unbearable, and puffy, sparkly and feathers with silver shoes sounds like a recipe for disaster. I don’t know why I like this, but I do. I also think her makeup is luminous. Have I entered an alternate universe or something?

    • Matthew Dinda

Girl is clearly letting Glinda the Good Witch (who she’s playing in Sam Raimi’s OZ-set film) in her fashion choices. And I applaud.

    • Anonymous

      love, why not?

    • Anonymous

Personally, I adore the dress and shoes, et al. I think she looks wonderful, but I also think she looks uncomfortable.

      • Sara__B

I honestly can’t recall a photo of her on a red carpet or at a photo opportunity where she looks comfortable. Since she’s an actress, it always surprises me that she can’t just ACT comfortable and play the part.

    • Rebecca Johnson

I’m generally Michelle-neutral, but I think she looks pretty corny in this (though her skin is gawjus!). I have a friend who makes a living attending children’s parties as a princess, and even in full Sleeping Beauty drag she doesn’t look this cutesy. Toothache!

    • Anonymous

I am really hating the hem.  How the lining is sewn to the dress but then the layers balloon out from each other, it just makes me think of a sleeping bag or like after you’ve done your laundry and you’re trying to wrestle your comforter back into the duvet cover.  It’s more apparent in the model shot but, still.  Just… no.  And I usually love Dior.  Mehhh.

    • http://twitter.com/thisiscarlijn Carlijn Kruidhof

Love the dress. Hate the red nails and lips with it.

      safe travels!
and yeah. she looks pretty damn fabulous!

    • Anonymous

It really is a testament to Dior because I saw these pictures on another blog earlier and immediately  recognized (or so I thought) this dress as vintage Dior. I’m not a fashion expert by ANY means, and because I 1. was able to recognize the designer based on the dress (I can usually only do this with obvious garments) and 2. thought it was vintage when it’s from 2011, I think it means they’re doing something right.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=811053804 Stacy Parker Cole

I’m with the dislikers.  This is seriously too twee, and she’s told old for this look. She seriously needs to start dressing her age and not letting her toddler pick out her clothes.

    • Anonymous

In all the luggage-wrangling I fear TLo forgot the possibility of scroll-down fug:  those shoes are pretty hiddy to allow them to skate on the “no platforms with gowns” edict.  Also, awkward hemline.

I don’t really mind her TAFiness (Twee As Fuck), but having trouble seeing this as even IN, let alone WERQ.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=630191954 Adina Miller Holmes

I *hate* that hemline.  Like, a lot.  And the shoes are wretched.  I also can’t help but think it’s a bit too much for a movie premiere.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HREPOWNBVUBRIVPQCF3ST2IKDM Euphory

      NO, JUST NO.

A sad dowdy woman trying too hard to be a teenage girl.  Looks fierce on the model but makes her look like Dakota Fanning’s hypothetical mom trying on her daughter’s clothes.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

I tend to think a gown like this needs drag queen realness, and Michelle isn’t the girl to bring it.  The model is in costume and is rocking the hell out of it.

      Not werq-ing for me.

    • http://profiles.google.com/claudiaberry Claudia Berry

If she’d just stop with the silly pursed lip smile she’d be perfect!

      platforms! gown! ahhh!

    • http://twitter.com/watchinginkdry Dr Skylaser

ZOMG you totally ignored that she’s wearing platforms (they’re very platformy) with a gown (and it’s very gowny).  Also, I don’t love this look nearly as much as you do.  Or possibly at all.

    • Anonymous

The bottom of that dress is a disaster.  What is all that bulk down there?  If this were knee length, it would make a nice summer party dress.

    • Anonymous

michelle is just lucky you’re wrangling luggage while reviewing her look.  those shoes!  looks like she’s about to stumble and fall after stepping on her dress in those clodhoppers. i get the glass slipper reference, but a delicate and beautiful shoe was called for here, esp. since the hemline was designed to spotlight her twee little feet.  true, this dress was made for her, but not with red lipstick and nails!  what was her makeup queen thinking?

    • Anonymous

      JEWELRY. JEWELRY, DAMMIT.

    • Anonymous

The bottom of the dress, even on the model, looks a little like a comforter to me.  Granted, a fabulously embellished comforter, but a comforter none-the-less.

    • Anonymous

I think they awarded the WERQ (and I agree) because she took her twee to the Nth twee-gree. Context counts, and this is the Paris premiere of her Marilyn biopic, she’s nominated for an Oscar, it’s 10 days before the big night, and she’s wearing head-to-toe Christian Dior, that most Parisian of Parisian coutouriers, the godfather of post WW2-Paris’ return to global fashion dominance. And it’s pink and billowy, but not frothy and overpowering. The proportions are great, the silhouette is flattering, her hairnmakeup are perfection.  I think it’s savvy and very, very intentional.

    • Anonymous

Methinks she had some developmental arrest at about age 13, hence all the pastels and frou-frou.  Time to grow up and embrace your womanhood, Michelle.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

That is a beautiful, tho twee, gown.  Don’t care for the shoes, and especially not with that gown.  What I do love is the shade of lipstick she’s wearing.  Gorgeous!

    • http://twitter.com/AShinyOConnor Aisling O’Connor

Oh TLo, I hate to disagree with you. Those red lips and nails are so wrong. In fact the shoes, hair (colour – too dark) and make-up are all at odds with the dress. In her journey away from Mia and toward Marilyn, and the Oscar, she has lost her way. That is SO not her dress.

    • Anonymous

I am not a fan of this

    • Anonymous

I think the model makes it WERQ because of her hair and makeup.  On Michelle?  Twee as fuck.

    • Anonymous

I really dislike this on her a lot.  It is a pretty dress, but I’m not sure who it would suit.  It’s the shade of pink, the bows and all that frufru…so fairy princessy or Cinderella-ish..! Not the look a young woman wants nor a look a middle to mature woman should go for.  Also, I hate her red lipstick…it’s like she thought that would make the outfit and herself look more mature (?).  No on the platform shoes too.  No.

    • Anonymous

it’s just the SHOES. How could you guys give her a pass on pairing Dior Couture with THOSE SHOES?!

Not at all. She had one or both hands on her hips in almost all the photos Google would show me – makes me wonder if the dress didn’t fit right and she had to surreptitiously keep it from heading south.

And I’d call it feminine but not twee.  I think the red lips and nails keep it from being so.  And she looks great in it.
BTW–hope you enjoyed your Amtrak train trip.  Was it on time?  (Are they ever?)

      No.  Just no.

Actually, before I saw the full length pictures I imagined it as not a full length gown and really loved it. Full length, it is still lovely but I think it rather overwhelms her–Princess Barbie goes to (your choice–the prom, the Oscars, etc) true.

I know this kind of look is her thing, but seriously, the only thing that comes in my mind every time with this girl is “So, are you trying to look twelve?”

These looks are cute, but she needs a new thing, now.

tsk tsk! Did you miss the platforms with a gown? You must be really worn out!

    • Anonymous

      She looks wonderful.

    • Anonymous

i wish she would smile with her teeth sometime.

    • Anonymous

Have a safe trip home, boys.

    • Anonymous

I like the dress, but this is not her dress.

    • Claire Benedict

Are you kidding me? She looks like one of those people who gets married at Disney World. I don’t care how cute she is, she’s too old to play princess dress-ups. That’s a dress for a 3 yo.

    • Anonymous

Oh god, enough already. I got six cavities just looking at her. She’d look great plumped on a whorehouse bed for Valentine’s Day but other than that… eeccch. And the silver clodhoppers? Wrong.

      • Anonymous

100% totally agree…but in my case I’m going into a diabetic sugar shock and need insulin STAT!!

    • Anonymous

I thought you guys lived in Manhattan???  Anyway, she looks fabulous.

    • Susan Crawford

What with the Oscars coming up and all, I’d like to make a request: nominees, stars, starlets and stylists, if your dress matches the color of a La Duree macaron . . . nix it! Unless, of course you are consciously going for the look of a Capodimonte shepherdess, that is. Beautiful gown, but on Michelle it is yet one more example of excruciatingly twee. (Somewhere in the background, I’ll bet her mother is lurking with a lovely extra-large damask bib in case Michelle’s ice cream starts dripping.)

I’m not wild about those shoes. They seem a little clunky for the dress.

      “twee-as-fuck shit ” is right.

    • http://twitter.com/chylde bellalozza

“twee as fuck shit” LOL!!! Yeah, I think Tom and Lorenzo must have ODed at Fashion Week if they think Pink Princess Dolly
      WERQs

Platforms with a gown and a boobie bow? Have you lost your minds?

      • Lisa

Oh, I know – it’s bad.  I think our boys may be exhausted!  ;-)

You know when she just WERQ’d and knocked it the fuck outta the park?  When “Brokeback” was up for all the awards at the Oscars.  That gorgeous yellow gown, the bright red lip, and that soft low chignon with the little wisps around her face – she looked spectacular.

    • Toto Maya

Hell no. I hate it and think she looks ridiculous.

    • Allison Woods

You uncles sure broke a lot of your own rules to do a Werk! here. Just sayin’.

    • Anonymous

I think you guys need some rest cause seriously I’m not quite sure what is WERQing about this. Maybe you’re totally drunk on NYFW and when you wake up tomorrow at home hung over from all the fashion fabulosity that you encountered you may experience “werq regret”. If you do just know, we still ♥ you.

    • Anonymous

Oh dear. Kindly uncles have clearly gone mad.

    • Anonymous

I loathe her, but have to agree with you guys. She looks amazing and so happy.

    • Anonymous

This dress is actually pretty fabulous…I love it.

I’ve decided what REALLY is Twee as Fuck about her is that pursed-lip shitty look she always has on her face.  She better be glad she’s a good actress, or she might end up on my bad list.

    • Anonymous

The dress is Cinderella pretty, but with the way she’s jammed her hands on the waist and her tight mouth, she looks like she hates it, that or she’s tired.

    • Anonymous

I can’t even with her anymore.

    • http://twitter.com/wednesdaydreams Natalie

I love this. It’s not twee, it’s princessy!

    • Anonymous

Wow, if this is a premier, then what’s she going to wear to the Oscars? Reckon she’s go even further over the top or reign it in to super muji style minimalist?

    • Anonymous

I guess Princess Barbie is a step up from twee.  I guess.

    • Anonymous

No. It’s certainly princessey, but is that the look she should be going for?

    • Anonymous

I wish she would lean back a bit to accentuate the shape more. She looks slightly hunchy and I can’t help feeling it’s not helping the dress shine.

    • k op

Can’t stand her.  It really is the perfect shade of pink for a confectiony gown.  But on Michelle, it looks like Toddlers and Tiaras.

    • http://www.facebook.com/martha.dollery Martha Dollery

I saw this in the paper at work today and fully expected you guys to hate it… How wrong I was!

    • http://profile.yahoo.com/44K44LLXFTJL3NMVTYUTR5T7CU Vy T

Have to disagree with you boys.

It’s a quinceanera dress, fer cryin’ out loud!

    • http://profiles.google.com/phyllis.craine Phyllis Craine

FAIL on the shoes.  love her nails

    • ccm800

I just cannot warm up to this girl. She does look perdie – insipid but pretty.

    • Tatiana Luján

no, no, no, she looks like a giant cupcake.
