WERQ: Kelly Rowland in Badgley Mischka

Posted on February 14, 2012

Oooooooh, Miss Lady.

Kelly Rowland attends the Clive Davis and the Recording Academy’s 2012 Pre-GRAMMY Gala and Salute to Industry Icons Honoring Richard Branson in Badgley Mischka.

Since the original seems incapable of doing so anymore, you WERQ that Diana Ross shit, girl!

All hail the new queen, bitches!

    Just… WOW.  Gorgeous.

      I second the motion!

  • Judy_J

Wow.  She looks amazing!  Love that dress!

  • lilibetp

I’ll bet the dress weighs almost as much as she does!

    • Anonymous

And her eyelashes weigh as much as her hair :)

The dress is great, but the hair is even better.

    • Anonymous

She needs to keep the hair like that. It’s diva-tastic.

  • Anonymous

    Sirena!

Thank you for showing us the famed booty in a picture. :)  I think this girl is 17 kinds of lovely and she is really developing into herself.

  • Anonymous

That is some fierce Diana realness, y’all.

My first thought when I saw that pic was Diana Ross, but you beat me to it. She looks AMAZING.

  • Anonymous

She looks great. Love the hair.

    Sublime.

That is some serious diva glam!  She does look fabulous!  :)

  • Anonymous

Love it all but the shoes can’t quite figure what would be better but not loving the black patent pumps.

    • Anonymous

Maybe black silk or satin. Patent seems too day or cocktail.

      • Anonymous

Patent never seems day to me, but the texture definitely competes with the sequins. I think plain old matte leather or satin would have looked better.

Even her eyes are sparkling! Divine.

That is one bodacious booty. FAB.

WERQ it indeed!  Add to it that she is working a beautiful COLOR!

The idea of Diana Ross not being the Queen anymore kinda sadden me..

    • http://www.GiftedCollector.com Nancy Abrams

Diana is now the Queen Mother. Give her a break, folks. She’s almost 70. She came on the scene 50 years ago! Diana, trim the hair. Really, we’d still recognize you.

  • Anonymous

she better WERQ!!!!  snaps.  she looks fierce.

  • http://twitter.com/GaraStJames Gara St. James

    Two snaps! She looks fantastic!

  • Anonymous

    Oh hell yes.

  • Anonymous

BWAhahaha, that pic of Ms. Ross!!  Oh my….

Ms. Rowland looks utterly gorgeous, great color for her, love the hair.  WERQ that disco queen s**t!!

  • Anonymous

    wow!

  • Anonymous

She looks fabulous, and I agree with the WERQ, but there’s more to being queen than looks.  When Ms. Rowland has made a bigger contribution to music and style than Miss Diana has, then she can be the queen.  But not until.

    • Anonymous

Agreed - Mahogany versus insipid comments on a fashion reality show.

  • MilaXX

It seems her time in the UK did Kelly a whole lot of good. She’s got a hit cd and has been WERQing the RC lately

    • Anonymous

agree. she seems to have won the hearts of the brits, too.

    Nice…

Hate the hair.  Seen that dress a million times.  Yawn.

I agree that we’ve seen the dress a million times, but when it looks this damn good, why not revisit it?

  • http://twitter.com/TheRedZavodnik Ginger

    Stunning. Full stop.

I have just one thing to say about this look.

    Spectacular.

  • Anonymous

Diana is still the queen, but KELLY! Her hair. is. amazing. And she was born to wear that dress.

  • Annabelle Archer

Love it, though I do wish the back had dropped down a wee lower.  Not into trampsville, just a touch more sexy.

  • butter nut

Supremes REALNESS! i am snapping all over this <3

i think this just might be my fave look of her

I know! I wish my curls could look half as good as hers do.

      • Anonymous

Me too!  When mine are big, they’re frizzy.  Where is our army of hairdressers when we need them?

        • Anonymous

Tell me about it. The only reason I would ever want to be famous is so I can hand my hair over to a professional.

Haha, Diana Ross was the very first thing I thought. I wish the back was a little lower, she’s still quite a fit young thing, but it’s a gorgeous dress and I love her eye makeup and hair.

    • Anonymous

      The eyeshadow is striking indeed!

  • http://twitter.com/LOfficielEbony TheVeryLivingEND

Yaaaasss…. when I saw her, I immediately said, “She is giving me Miss Dianna Ross, the Boss.” I love this whole look. Werq that Boss sh*t, girl.

I wonder what Whitney was going to wear to this red carpet…

  • http://www.wordydoodles.com WordyDoodles

Love how the color graduates from blue-green at the top to a deep deep blue at the hem. With the blue eyeliner, I think the whole look makes a strong case for how well this color can work on brown skin. (Or maybe I’m still rebelling against the Estee Lauder makeup lady who told me at age 13 that a bright orange-red was my best color.)

    • http://twitter.com/foodycatAlicia foodycatAlicia

Go on and rebel – the Estee Lauder makeup lady tried to sell me on coral and jade tones at about the same age. That blue green looks AMAZING on brown skin! And I am always jealous of how my sisters of colour can wear a blue eyeshadow that just pops, whereas on me it fades away.

      • Lisa

It’s okay, ladies – rebel away.  I used to work for Estee Lauder – they generally don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about!

  • Anonymous

She looks beautiful, but you don’t dethrone the Queen so easily. Long live the real Queen; this one’s just a lady in waiting.

  • Anonymous

    Outstanding!

  • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

Bingo! Diana indeed. She really does look great.

  • Susan Crawford

This is the best I have ever seen Kelly look. Fabulous dress, great color, hair is perfection and she is WERQing it every inch of the way.

  • Anonymous

Please excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor and mop up the drool.

  • http://twitter.com/chylde bellalozza

That’s just ripping of Diana Ross from 1977. Nothing original there.

  • Anonymous

Isn’t this the same dress that Carrie Underwood wore to the Grammys but in a different color?

  • Anonymous

She looks gorgeous, but I never like the “here is my ass” pose, no matter how fabulous that ass is.

  • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

    DAYMN.

  • http://twitter.com/mirrormirrorxx Paola Thomas

She really is impeccable.  And that is THE most amazing colour…

    WERQ is right!

  • http://tigergray.blogspot.com/ Tiger Gray

You work that bigass hair, girl.

  • Anonymous

I love that she’s chosen to live curly. I wish black women didn’t feel compelled to straighten their hair or resort to wigs.

  • Anonymous

Divaliscious and bootytastic. She has been rocking the RC lately.

  • Anonymous

Very Diana Ross, I love the hair on her.  Big improvement.  I’d prefer silver strappy stilettos rather than the black patent pumps but overall she looks smashing.

  • Anonymous

She’s looking pretty great lately, so much netter than her usual outfits of dubious taste.

  • Anonymous

    Sheer fabulosity.  You go, girl!

  • Toto Maya

She has looked so amazing lately. I gasped when I saw her outfit for the Grammys. She’s just gorgeous as hell.

  • http://karensbooksandchocolate.blogspot.com/ Karenlibrarian

Stunning!  Love the ombre effect of the beading.  It’s got to be heavy as heck, but it’s sexy and tasteful.  And I love the hair.  Wow.

  • Lisa

Nope.   Just because she *can* do Diana Ross doesn’t mean she *should* do Diana Ross – because this wasn’t a good look for Diana Ross either.  It’s just overly sparkly crazy lady circa 1980.

  • Anonymous

    Beyonce who?

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jane-Morris/1076502799 Jane Morris

wow. She doesn’t even have to the “I gotta pee” legs in this dress.

HEY! Oprah’s skinny again!  Oh wait…

  • http://twitter.com/eugy_alliegro Eugenia Alliegro

Totally off topic, but I thought her beauty mark was a spot on my monitor and tried scraping it off with my nail for like 20 seconds lol … took me a while to realize it was there to stay … other than that, I absolutely ADORE Badgley Mischka <3 Amazing.

    Stunning!
