New York Fashion Week Front Row Day 2

Posted on February 11, 2012

Celebrity-watching is ever so much more fun than bird-watching, don’t you find?

General Idea Fall 2012 Show
Kellan Lutz

We have a story.

Unless you’re sitting directly across from them, it’s sometimes hard to see which celebrities are attending a show because the tent is dark and there are millions of little firefly photographers swarming around them. We ran out of this show to make it to another one when Tom bumped smack into Kellan, who was rushing in the opposite direction. He didn’t have time to look at the face, so he didn’t realize who it was. He did, however, have time to notice that he smacked into a really built guy and turned around to get the view from behind as he dashed out the door. Later, as Lorenzo was compiling the pictures for this post, he said, “Kellan Lutz was at General Idea. Too bad we didn’t see him.”

“Is he wearing a really tight grey turtleneck in the pictures?”

“How did you know that?”

“I bumped into him on the way out.”

Fashion Week. When grown gay men act like 12-year-old girls. And yes, he looked hot. But not nearly as huge as he does in pictures.

Kimberly Ovitz Fall 2012 Show
Ivanka Trump

We have no story for Ivanka, but that’s a cute top.

Nicole Miller Fall 2012 Show
Louise Roe

It’s February.

Meredith Ostrom

It’s still February.

Robbie Myers and Joe Zee

You can always spot Robbie from far away in a tent because she totally has that glow thing that really beautiful famous women have.  Oh course we love Joe. We keep snatching 5-minute convos either before or after a show. We even ran into him in our hotel lobby, because, like a lot of hotels in the area, FW events were being hosted there. “What event are you guys going to here?” he asked. “Our room!” we replied.

Peter Som Fall 2012 Show
Amanda Hearst

Jennifer Nettles

Love the shoes, honey.

Krysten Ritter

 Love the whole look, honey.

Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2012 Show
Olivia Palermo

FINALLY. A fashionista who understands IT’S FEBRUARY.

Abigail Breslin

Love this look.

Kristin Chenoweth

Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald

Rebecca Taylor Fall 2012 Show
Louise Roe and Olivia Palermo

Zoe Kraviz, Olivia Palermo, and Louise Roe

Are they in mid-song or something? Why are they all leaning to their left?

Tommy Hilfiger Fall 2012 Show
Bradley Cooper

We’ll take that coat, Bradley. Just hand it over and there won’t be any trouble.

  • Seems like you two are having one heck of a good time at FW, and we all really appreciate you taking us along for the ride!

  • seeing all the women in sleeveless dresses and short skirts without hose, I’m curious.  Are the fashion week tents and other venues as overheated as the rest of the places in NYC?  Because I have to admit that’s always been my issue when visiting there during the winter:  since I live in the South, I’m excited to have the chance to wear my winter things, but while it’s so cold outside that I have to bundle up in a thick coat and scarf, the interiors are so hot that even a lightweight sweater has me boiling within minutes.

    • Good question! I am in NYC now and having the same issues. Esp since I walk everywhere, I’m always well-bundled… then you walk inside and it’s 90 degrees. Not an issue when there’s a coat check but otherwise it’s a pain in the butt.

Not that these girls are walking anywhere, except from the cab/limo to the door.

I was wondering the same thing the other day when looking at pictures with so people still wearing overcoats during the show.

My assumption is that some are much warmer than others.

      • Anonymous

My thoughts also. It may be FEBRUARY but this hasn’t really been much of a winter. And I’m bitter cause I love my winter clothes and my snow boots 🙁

  • Anonymous

Why is Olivia Palermo wearing Chewbacca?

  • Who cares about how Kellan Lutz LOOKED – you got to FEEL!

  • Anonymous

Kellan Lutz…I don’t get it. He does nothing for me.

  • Anonymous

“What event are you guys going to here?” he asked. “Our room!” we replied.

There’s some very funny social commentary about NYC in that scentence, fashion week or not, you will hear that at least once while you’re in the city.

  • ‘Becca’lise Deveaux

Gahhh I love Krysten Ritter, I think she’s gorgeous.

  • Anonymous

Love you two forever for the “it’s February” theme.

Amanda Hearst – is orange really THAT fashionable? Cause otherwise she looks an awful lot like some of the deluded 10th graders I see, confusing music vids & reality teevee with fashion guidance.

    Bradley Cooper – nice.

  • Anonymous

You take the coat. I’ll take Bradley.

    • Anonymous

You have have the top half and I’ll take the bottom half.

    • Anonymous

Could you shave off his moustache, please?

  • Judy_J

Glad to see y’all are having so much fun!  Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

  • Anonymous

I love that Jennifer Nettles is like the fashion ambassador to the country music world. Jen honey, go with God, and spread those little seeds of fashion sense. If just one country music artist sees the error of their ways, you will have been a success!!

  • Anonymous

Is Kellan Lutz bulking up to play a cold war era Eastern European henchman? Will Stalone also be starring? And what’s with the thermal roll neck?  So creepy. He looks like a human trampoline.

    • Anonymous

The way he’s cracking his knuckles, I can just hear him saying “I veel brreak you!” in his best Russian accent.

    • Anonymous

      I’d bounce on that.

  • Anonymous

Isn’t that always the case with celeb sightings? They’re always smaller than you think they are.

  • Who is sitting next to Kristin Chenoweth and why on earth is she wearing a blue dress, blue shoes, and sheer black hose with giant polka dots on them?

    • Minnie Mouse?

    • terekirkland

Whoever it is, she bears a striking resemblance to Kate Goslin’s new face. *shudders*

  • You can take the coat. I’ll take the Bradley under it.   Props to you both for toughing it out through all this madness.

    • Anonymous

I do not get his appeal.  Not even a little bit.

  • Terence Ng

Abigail, and Cheno were nice…then I saw Cooper and wet myself a little. UGH. SO HOT.

  • Bradley Cooper is my boyfriend. True story.

  • Lisa

I love “It’s February.  It’s still February.”  Haha!

Paul McDonald looks like he’d rather be at a dentist appointment.

  • Anonymous

I don’t know who Krysten Ritter is but I love her look, especially that the shoes and the belt are complementary but not matching.  What a good eye!  Also, I don’t know who is with little Miss Chenoweth but I do have a weak spot for those polka dot hose.  Hate Kristen’s shoes, though.

Thanks for letting us kittens hitchhike on your ride through Fashion Week.  Loving your comments!  Keep having fun!

    • Anonymous

I have those polka dot hose (or rather a very cheap imitation of them). They are fabulous. I highly recommend you buy yourself a pair and stare lovingly at yourself whenever you pass a mirror or a reflective store window or a shiny car.

I am the queen of funky tights and proud of it.

  • Emu does Tommy Middlefinger!

    The clothes are wearing him.

  • Anonymous

oh Tom…why no pictures of Kellan from behind, as he dashed out the door…why?   🙁

I’d have stalked him if I were you  (oops…12 yr old girl coming out in me 😉 )

  • akprincess72

    Open toed booties must DIE.

    • Anonymous

      Yes. agreed.  and soon.

    • Anonymous

I know.  Besides the disconnect of exposing toes in the winter, unlike sandals or simply open-toed shoes, the boots just really emphasize the toes, odd body parts to kind of frame out and say “look at these!”  But I have to laugh every time I see the poster for RuPaul’s Drag Race that has been plastered on just about every city bus lately, with Ru wearing gold stiletto open-toed boots.  It takes one confident queen to so prominently showcase her man-toes!  (Or somebody forgot about the bus-sized blow-up factor…)

      • akprincess72

Hmmm, glad to be in small town USA… I don’t want to see ANYBODY’S toes larger than life before breakfast!!!  Lol! I’m sure toe fetishists love them, but I just think they’re silly.

      • akprincess72

I just noticed your picture, hello to a fellow beagle lover!  =)   Ours is Rosie, she’s just 4 months & rotten!

        • Anonymous

But endlessly entertaining, right?  They earn their keep by keeping you laughing, which given their hard-headedness is a very good thing for them.  Just check the locks on your gates now, fill in all the holes under the fence, and train everyone to keep the front door closed because, man, when Hillary said of Bill, “He’s a hard hound to keep on the porch,” beagles were just the hounds she had in mind.  NOTORIOUS roamers!

Anyway, mine is Jimi.  He’s 12, an I love him to pieces.

          • akprincess72

Very much so!   As she was doing something goofy & incredibly cute yesterday, I asked my husband what we ever did without her…   Unfortunately the poor pup thinks she was born on Hoth, this spring once the snow melts will be a big revelation to her!   We have a lot of wildlife to consider here & I know we are going to have to be on high alert at all times.   Last month there was a moose in the yard, she watched it through the window & REALLY wanted to go play.   We know the moose won’t find her as charming so she’ll be stuck on leash.   She’ll be fine, she’ll just sulk & pout & then we’ll give her a treat & all will be forgiven.  SUCH personality in these little hounds!!!   Give Jimi a pet for us, we definitely ‘get’ the love!  <3

  • MilaXX

LOVE Krysten Ritter’s entire look. Glad to see Abigail Breslin looking cute and age appropriate. I swear whoever picks her dresses for the RC thinks she’s a 40 year old instead of a teenager. Glad to see Bradley wearing a really nice coat. I’ve noticed there are a lot of really nice men’s coats being made lately. Nice to see it trickle to celebs., especially since menswear can be a little boring.

  • Anonymous

I feel bad for Kristin Chenoweth’s toes.

  • Anonymous

Holy hell.  I have no idea who Kellan Lutz is or why he’s famous, but I WANT TO KNOW!

    • Anonymous

He is in the Twilight movies, I think that is what he is best known for.

      • Anonymous

Ah.  Now I’m sorry I asked!  LOL.

  • Anonymous

I just love Ivanka. She’s always well dressed, understated, quietly elegant. Hard to believe she was spawned by that ridiculous blowhard.

Krysten Ritter’s dress is lovely on her, but her choice of accessories really make it.
Kristen Chenoweth’s booties (?) with toes make me gag, as did the blue Minnie Mouse hoof shoes on her left. It’s one thing to keep your coat on if you’re chilly, but Paul McDonald needs take his damn hat off inside. Is he that cold or that rude?It astounds me that celebrities show up for Fashion Week dressed so tackily.

  • oh Krysten. Absolutely beautiful.

  • Anonymous

I’d like to bump into Bradley Cooper.

    • Maria Rosenfire

       …With my ladyparts.

      • Anonymous

“I’d like to bump into you with my ladyparts” may have to be my new pickup line.

  • irielle

Kristin Chenoweth is going to freeze her toes!!!

  • kimberlini

Listening to Bradley Cooper speak French is my idea of great porn….sigh…

Any guy who’s thinking of marrying Olivia Palermo should check out the photo of her with Louise Roe ’cause that’s what she’s going to look like all the time in 20 years.  Not pretty.

  • Anonymous

Abigail is growing up into a really gorgeous woman.  Like the outfit here too

  • Head over heels for Abigail Breslin’s coat!

  • Anonymous

    Robbie Myers .  .  .
totally has that glow thing that really beautiful famous women have.

Famous?  I never heard of her.  Who is she?

    Jennifer Nettles
    Love the shoes, honey.

I had electric blue suede pumps a decade ago.

    It’s February.

These people live in a different world than we mere mortals.  Apparently a different climate as well.

    Kristin Chenoweth

Is she the one with the (soon to be) frost-bitten toes, or the one with the plague spots on her legs?

    • Anonymous

Frost-bite. No idea who Plague Spots is.

    • Anonymous

I have a pair of polka dot tights that I adore, but I am totally stealing “plague spots” from you. I’d love to make disease fashionable.

    • Anonymous

My theory is that February is why God made pantyhose, and I will go to my old-fashioned grave still trying to revive the pantyhose business.  Hell, maybe I’ll be buried in pantyhose.

      • Anonymous

You and me both.  I can’t fathom the “no hosiery” dictate.  Aside from weather issues, one’s feet get all sweaty and blistered without them.

  • Anonymous

Paul McDonald looks cute. He sure fell into a pot of jam.

  • You can have Bradley’s coat if I can have the rest of him…

    • Anonymous

Seriously.  You take the front, I’ll take the back.

  • Anonymous

Louise Roe’s legs and Joe Zee’s face are so matchy matchy.

  • What is it about Bradley Cooper that always makes my skin crawl?

  • Anonymous

Thanks for keeping all of your minions updated on FW! I love seeing what the celebs are wearing just as much as seeing the runway looks.

  • Kellan Lutz it just scary, yo.

  • Anonymous

Kellan Lutz loks like he can only grunt two syllable words but he does have some…um…how can I say this?…uh….male member engulfing lips.

Sorry.  I couldn’t resist.  Who is he anyway?

    • Anonymous

       He’s a twi-pire, unfortunately. 🙁

      • Anonymous

Well that explains it.  The only twi-pire know of by sight is that guy with the big nose.  I forget his name.

  • Anonymous

Wow, I know who a total of 5 people in these pictures are.  Fuck, I’m getting old.

  • Anonymous

I need Krysten Ritter’s clothes. Now. Holy fuck I’m in love.

Also, insanely jealous on the Kellan Lutz front.

  • Anonymous

hahahahahahaha!!  OK breathe.  Bradley Cooper’s mustache….  I hope it’s for a role.   If not, hahahahahhahaha!!!  The jacket is super cool.  And Lil Spitta would be proud to have the fashionable girls lean to the left.

  • Anonymous

Isn’t FW when everyone should be rocking their best looks?  Most of these women look like fashion victims, as if they’re trying too hard but with no sense of style whatsoever.  Granted that most of these women are not style icons (even in the loose sense of the word), but still.

And you better be careful around Kellan Lutz.  In that photo, he looks like a villain who plans to blow up the planet with that detonator in his hands.

  • Anonymous

These are the ultimate man on the street posts.  (Men in a tent?) God, Zoe looks exactly like her mother.  Cheno is clearly proud of her clutch, and Abigail is growing up beautifully. She seems to have Duchess Cathy’s affection for strong liner under the eye.

  • Call me Bee

I hope when you had your 5 minute talks with Joe Z,  you gave him big hugs and xxs from all of your loyal unborn fawns and bitter kittens!!

  • I’d like to think if I bumped into Kellan, he’d stop and notice me. If only because I would press my big tits tightly against his big tits.
