In or Out: Viola Davis in Hervé L. Leroux

Posted on February 20, 2012

Objectively speaking, Viola looks fierce as shit here. We have charts and everything to prove it.

Viola Davis poses with the award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for ‘The Help’ at the 43rd NAACP Image Awards in an Hervé L. Leroux dress paired with Bochic earrings.

We’re gonna need a ruling on those babyheads.

Vote Now!

IN! Who cares if her balloons are squealing? Everything else looks PERFECT!

OUT! Baby heads ruin EVERYTHING! And her eyeshadow matches her dress!

The kittens were torn on Mia Wasikowska’s precious little Miu Miu dress, but ultimately decided it was OUT. Leighton Meester’s tit-tastic Snow White costume was not so widely debated and got a pretty unanimous OUT.

I LOVE this color and cut on her for the most part, but you really could put an eye out. AND the girls look like they are askew to boot. I am torn. IN but…. barely.

    • Anonymous

Yes, I would agree. Color is wonderful, but this is a marginal IN

  • First of all, that looks PAINFUL. I’m sorry, but no. OUT.

    • angryparsnip

I don’t understand, so many women get their boobs done (don’t know if she has) but then them smash them into way too small tops that make them look awful and like you said so painful !
      yuck !

      •  Yes exactly. TLo are notorious for demanding perfect fit in men – the same should go for women! If the dress didn’t fit, add some material. Don’t take it out on your boobs. Good color doth not make an IN. (Yes, I just said doth.)

        • Yep, boob smashing will always be an out.  If I feel uncomfortable and possibly in pain just looking at you, there’s a problem.

  • Anonymous

OUT!  The boobs ruin the look.

    • EveEve

O.U.T.  Those girls deserve better treatment than that.  Just sayin’.

    • tired_mommy

      Agreed! Out.

  • I’m OK with the subtly orange eyeshadow, but my girls are screaming just looking at that.

  • Vaniljekjeks

Oh honey no.  Out.  You need a bra that fits and a wig that doesn’t suck.  Trust me, I know.  It’s not easy, but it’s not that hard either.

    • Judih1

      Well said!

  • She might as well walk around, yelling like a peanut vendor at the ballpark, TITS!  GET YOUR TITS HERE!  TITS!   I have big boobs and I like showing them off when appropriate, but Dammmmmmmmmmmn.  One small patch of fabric would make this perfect.  She looks amazing otherwise, but I can’t see anything but babyheads.  I’m going to have to give her an OUT.

    • Pennymac

I sooo agree. Just the smallest of adjustments to that decolatage and this would have been a resounding in. As it is, it screams “LOOK AT MY TITS!”       O.U.T.

    • enchanted216

“TITS!  GET YOUR TITS HERE!  TITS!”    Lol!!! ROTFL!

    • XD … you know, if you look at the picture for this post on the homepage it is cut as the cleavage should be. It’s the underboob that’s killing the look.

  • Cannot stop looking at the squished one. Out. So distracted.

    • And concerned.

      • introspective

and the squished one is also the askew one. so troubling- both in terms of the outfit and the anatomy.

and again, after the revelation that is your natural hair, all your wigs look like shabby seconds to me.

love you viola, but sadly this is an OUT

        • I spent a lot of summers working as a lifeguard and witnessed THOUSANDS of good AND bad boob jobs; and if that’s not some serious encapsulation scarring going on with that squished/askew one, I’ll eat my old bathing suit. Which, I might add, is the same fabulous shade of orange as this dress.  Sadly, she’s out because she chose not to keep the babyheads in.

Viola, girl, you know what’s great? A little mystery. We want to wonder what you look like out of the dress, not have you leave nothing to the imagination.

          • Good point about scarring– hopefully her doctor would notice and check that out even if no one else who works for her may have said anything yet.

  • Anonymous

Sorry, that neckline ruins what could have been a home run.  This umpire rules: no base on balls for her!  OUT.

  • iCouture

Damn girl, thatta lotta boob!!!  She looks sooo fierce though!!!   Hmmm….  despite the boobage, I will give an IN

  • I’m seeing M&Ms in various sizes.

  • OUT!  Poor babyheads…that looks painful.  How is she smiling?

  • I have to say OUT.  All I can see are those poor boobs.  I mean, I’m sure they’re spectacular, but they need to be presented better.  If you’re going to present them, make them appealing.  The second fabulous bitchy bloggers call them babyheads, babyheads cannot be unseen.

  • Kyle Crawford

Is this the way it is supposed to fit???

    • MilaXX

Sadly other than the fact that the boobs are a bit askew, yes designers are intentionally making dresses that give women babyheads. JHud has worn several dresses like this as well.

      • formerlyAnon

And yet . . . just because the designers make them, doesn’t mean that well-off women have to wear them, yes?  I realize that industries might crumble and strong men cry, but if your stylist can’t come up with any good-looking loaners which fit, it’d be better to wear something one owns than to look like you don’t own any  mirrors. IMO. And I’m sure it’s not really that simple when you’re living it.

        • MilaXX

Oh I agree, but like ombre hair, it’s a “thing” right now.

  • Saoirse Lee

I’m going to say IN, because with a little judicious tucking and a few metres of tit tape, those babyheads could be subdued and maybe they’d quit squealing for attention. Then we could see how fan-fucking-tastic this dress looks on Viola, and not just be staring at her bewbs like we never seen no bewbs before.

  • Anonymous

Oh no. Little out because she looks great except for the boobs. Why, Viola? Why?

  • Anonymous

If not for the the girls, this would be a total IN.  But the eye is involuntarily drawn to the wonkiness, and I hurt for her.  OUT.  Treat them with kindness, Viola.

  • Love the color on her, of course, but that is way to much going on in the girls department.  Cover it up, sister.

  • Anonymous

I don’t care about the eye shadow, but the babyheads are positively grotesque. They look like goiters. Out!!!!!

  • Anonymous

I’m so torn on this.  The color is GORGEOUS and I don’t mind the eye shadow.  But whenever she was on screen during the awards, those breasts were pretty distracting.  They looked  fake … and squished.  She’s too pretty for that kind of fit.

    Sadly, she’s an OUT.

  • Melanie Harrison

I am sad, beause I want to give her an ‘in’, but to be fair, we’ve given an out to Christina Hendricks for her “baby heads”, so I’m going to have to give an OUT to Viola, as much as I love the color of this dress on her.

  • Anonymous

No, no, no, no, no.  OUT.  THey are so out there, that you can’t look past them.

    • TAGinMO

Hell, you can barely SEE past them.

  • Anonymous

Getting it so close to right and failing is more of an OUT to me than getting it all wrong. Poor, poor boobies! I feel their pain. If that neckline were 4 to 6 inches higher it would have been an unquestionable IN.

Oh Viola, you’ve let us all down.

    • It makes me lose a little respect for her. It’s hard to take someone seriously when they present themselves like this.

  • Anonymous

Honey, this is an award show, not a bagel shop. OUT

  • Seems the right one is more of an attention seeking whore than the left one.

  • Anonymous

    Those look store-bought to me.

    • If they were store=bought, they would be symmetrical, and not as propped-up.

      • Gayer_Than_Thou

Maybe — but I’ve seen some store-bought boobs that were anything but symmetrical.  ‘Course, the asymmetry could simply be because she’s holding her award in that hand.

    • Alisa Rivera

You may have something there. I don’t remember her having this level of rackage in the past. Maybe they’re new and she doesn’t know how to dress them?

  • Anonymous

Oh Viola! ***sigh*** I love her (seriously LOVE HUH) and love this color and don’t even mind the eyeshadow. But fit matters. Out.

  • Oh lord! The baby heads look freaking miserable. And odd. They completely distract from the dress. I’d say OUT!

  • R. L.

No for the babyheads.  With the double distraction being so prominently displayed I can’t seem to notice what she is wearing or where she is.

  • Anonymous

IN. It’s borderline, but it’s kind of an interesting take on cleavage…and not unflattering. Also good hair and color contrast of dress and skin. So, a somewhat conflicted IN.

  • Anonymous

That looks…painful. The color is gorgeous on her, but the treatment of the girls gets this an OUT.

    • Anonymous

      Completely agree. Out.

  • Anonymous

    OUCH. No. Out.

  • L.

OUT!  I think I see nipple.

  • We’re just not used to seeing REAL boobs. On a woman this age. In a dress like this. This is how they look. Real boobs don’t always face the same way, and are often not the same size.
It’s an unfortunate moment. I would be surprised if she looked this way the entire evening. BUT she looks uncommonly beautiful here and that color is amazing. I am going with IN.

  • leah besson

    out.  gross.

  • Jennifer Coleman

Personally, I object to the powers that be in the fashion world’s edict that mid to large size female breasts are vulgar and if you have them, they should be minimized, ignored and/or hidden. Since Viola is not particularly big up top, this dress is a good example of a dress designed strictly for a flat chest. If there had been even a little more fabric allowed for a true female form, her decolletage would have been shown to perfect effect. As it is, those twins are more fraternal than identical, due to the smushing.
IN for Viola: beautiful color but I could live without the nude lip.OUT for Herve L. Leroux for denying the existence of boobs.

    • ASK26

Maybe – “OUT for Herve L. Leroux for denying the existence of boobs.”   BUT  as a large breasted woman – I can curse the designers (in general)  but that doesn’t mean that I then buy the dress and try to prove how ridiculous it looks by trying to wear it.

    • BrooklynBomber

“more fraternal than identical” — haha.  Honestly, all that smushing is not doing her (or them) any favors.

  • OUT. The babyheads are terrifying. The dress is spectacular.

  • Wow, this is the kind of mistake that I didn’t expect from Miss Viola. I want to give her an IN because it’s a hot color and basically she looks awesome, but her titties are distracting. Are they new? Did she just buy them? Maybe that’s why she’s showing them off… OUT. Her husband or somebody should’ve told her that that’s what bikinis are for, take the family to the South of France and frolic there (that’s what Halle would do)…

  • I think it’s even WORSE when you are so right but then get something like the boob sitch SO wrong (okay, and the eyeshadow). I have to go OUT even though it’s mostly in.

  • Had the neckline been more of a closed V, this would have been SPECTACULAR. I’m still going to say IN even though the tits are quite the eye-sore here.

  • Beth Golden

OUT. Is it just me or does she also look awkwardly asymmetrical? If not for the crazy boob action, she’s look fierce as hell.

  • I love/hate her for being able to get away so beautifully with that amazing shade of orange.  It makes the insane lovely of her skin tone even better.  But the BOOBIES!  A trifle too far on the rack display for me., mostly cause that’s where your focus goes right away. And nothing should detract from her glorious face.  A very small case in.

  • OUT  ew. Sadly, her cleavage would have been a great sight if they just weren’t so tortured. Her smile looks so fixed the thought going through her head must be “smile through the pain, you got this”

  • Out. The babyheads are distracting me from the awesomeness of everything else.  that color is to die for on her.

  • homespunner

    What eyeshadow?

    • calimon

LOL (literally). My neighbors must think I’m losing it here.

  • lizajane1776

Great color on her, but the fake boob look is horrid.
She would have been judged less harshly before her gorgeous natural spread, but now every time she’s in a wig, I deduct points, more for this particular wig.

  • I love her, but the squashed boobs ruin it.  A very regretful OUT.

  • PastryGoddess

    She is Viola Freaking Davis

    • ASK26

Gosh this sounds like an all too typical attitude.  YOu know you can admire/like a person but that honestly should not excuse /blind one to everything they do/wear/say

Sorry but this attitude is a pet peeve – like the reverse.

  • StrandedFashionista

BOOOOOBS! That’s what this outfit screams. Once you look past them, however, the entire look is actually quite stylish and she  looks lovely. If her girls had more room to breathe, I’d give it a more complete of an IN than I’m giving it on principle.

  • tsid2012

Oh…..!  Such a pretty dress on a beautiful woman but those “girls” look like they are trying to escape some sort of torture chamber.  That is really too bad, it was such a great look until that hit me in the face.

  • Glynis Fediuk

In, barely. The same can be said of her boobs.

  • SewingSiren

The color is perfect for her , as is the silhouette. But the opening at the neckline is just too wide. If only it had been draped so the two bodice/shoulder straps met at the cf neckline. It would have still had a daring neckline but it would have been so much more flattering.

    • BrooklynBomber

I already posted this, but like this: , right?

  • twocee

Out.  Color is gorgeous, but it just looks like it doesn’t fit right.

  • Viola hon, surely you don’t need this kind of exposure, do you?

  • Chuckle_Cake

Love the dress. Love the color. Love the fit. Love her body. Love it that she wears wigs and changes them up all the time, LOL.

    However: Babyheads.

    Still in, though.

  • Kelly Ridings

Ugh!  My eyes!  It is wrong to ruin a beautiful dress like that with such wonky and distracting cleavage!  OUT!

  • Candigirl1968

Sadly, out.  Bad fit, bad eye shadow. Great boobs, though.

  • Those are some unfortunate boobs. I can’t quite get past them and its annoying me because I want to give her a slamming IN for everything else. OUT though.

  • kaycem

oh my word…  well, first, the babyheads are a tragedy of epic proportions.  second, she looks great in orange, but usually in oranges that contain more red, rather than this which is a truer orange.  it makes her look washed out, but that could also be the lack of makeup.  overall, the concept of this look is good, but it’s enough off in several aspects of its execution:  OUT.

  • LongTall_Sally

I’m sure if it wasn’t for the babyheads she’d look wonderful, but its so hard to tell because babyheads are all that I can see.  OUT!

  • “We’re gonna need a ruling on those babyheads.”  Yeah, I was thinking as I was scrolling down, “That is some weird-ass cleavage.”  For those of you who don’t have breasts and don’t regularly handle them: they do not do that in nature.  She looks fierce enough otherwise to keep the IN, but girl, find another lingerie professional.

  • Judy_J

Sorry, babyheads do ruin everything. OUT.

  • StelledelMare

The color is fantastic but her boobs look just too tortured. Out.

  • vanjar

So close. Gorgeous colour, great length, but the boobs are ruining it. OUT.

  • Lilithcat

    I ache for her boobs.

  • simply here

out – the boobs ruin the look completely

  • shopgirl716

Out. Babyheads ruin it.  She’s killing me – I want to love everything she wears!

  • Diego!

Too much tit on display. But on the other hand, orange makes a wonderful contrast on her skin. A very weak IN because the girls are ruining the look

  • msdamselfly

Out  Very pretty but those boobs look weird

  • GorgeousThings

The babyheads are way too distracting. Shame – the color looks great on her. OUT

  • Cathy S

I just can’t. The baby heads are killing it for me. It makes her look trashy and Miss Viola is not trashy.

  • Out. Let those poor babyheads BREATHE!

  • ASK26

  • Out. Great color on her and everything, but her boobs look absolutely ridiculous.

  • tylka5

The girls look really painfully situated.  But I gotta say, this is a great color and she looks amazing!

  • annrr

That dress would have been perfection except that your eyes goes right to her wonky boobs. Maybe it is how she is standing, it is a shame to take the focus off her great figure.

  • enchanted216

OUT!!!  The dress is beautiful, but the boobs………bleh.  That looks absolutely HORRIBLE!  Not sexy or attractive in any way, shape or form!

  • velomango

Out. She’s a beautiful woman and the color is great, but the babyheads take all the attention.

  • Out.  You can’t look at her and not just stare at her boobs.

  • Lauren Maier

I must not be feeling very forgiving today, because I’m declaring this an OUT on babyheads alone.  *sigh* And it’s a beautiful dress!  She looks fantastic!  But…babyheads….so…painful…

  • littlemac8

Yikes!  Viola can’t be an in when all you can see is woefully manipulated boobage!  Perfect otherwise, but the alarm over the unnatural breast wrangling can’t be overcome!!!  OUT

  • nancymae

I’m going to blame the family. She was probably running late and asked her husband what he thought and of course he fell into a tit trance and gave her a thumbs up. Then she asked her daughter who loved the color and she said “yes mommy!”. And with that she was out the door. IN.

  • Jessica Goldstein

Oh dear. I love everything about this except the wig, which isn’t bad—I just like her real hair so much better—and the crazy cleavage. It’s not just too much, it’s squished into not being symmetrical! A very painful OUT.

  • saanrio

    OUT.  That looks painful.

  • Brad and Anne White

Boobs. Boobs. I can’t stop staring. And I’m not even a man. Sorry honey, you look fab, but WTH? OUT.

  • BrooklynBomber

One of those, “I gasped, and not in a good way” moments. I really like the dress, and that color’s gorgeous on her. But this is WAY too much of a good thing. Or, I guess, two good things.

  • blixtme

    Ew. OUT

  • finnishmaria

Nooooooo!!!! Her boobs looked squashed! Out. (Well, I need more information. Did they look like that all night? Or was it how she is standing? That would change everything.)

  • Kristin Glad

    out, they are scary

  • G

The sad thing is that it makes her (probably real) boobs look like implants.  OUT, Viola… and you’ve been on such a good run lately!

  • BrooklynBomber

Memo to Hervé L. Leroux: this is how you do that kind of bodice:

  • Joanna Schuth

OUT. I am in pain just looking at it.

  • CatherineRhodes

  • Pupioso

It’s a shame. It could have been a nice dress but that cut on the top is terrible. OUT>

  • Laylalola

OUT. That’s the first thing the eye goes to, and not in a good way.

  • Mariah J

I’m fine with cleavage but those babies can’t breathe. OUT

  • jennmarie19

OUT. The ladies are just too distracting. More so because she looks so lovely otherwise.

  • Aly Light

  • schadenfreudelicious

oh Viola, its just too much heavage to be anything but massively distracting…OUT

  • OUT!!! You can do better girl!

  • Stephen Bornstein

  • bailey debruynkops

    babyheads, out!

  • kelsita421

    Death by baby heads. OUT.

  • Brenna McClellan

She looks gorgeous. And then really, really awkward. Like I’m uncomfortable even looking at her. OUT.

  • my boobs just winced. OUT.

  • sarahofalessergod

I hate voting Viola out, but damn.  My breasts need oxygen tanks just looking at that.  OUT.

  • I’m so sad!  Love that color and love Ms. Davis, but OUT.  Babyheads are always OUT!

  • greyhoundgirl

OUT.  The boobs are Too Much.  Too bad–the rest is perfect.

  • slightlybitterkitten

OUT.  Things that make it so:  The girls, the wig, and the eyeshadow.  Though, I do like that shade of orange on her…. as a garment.

  • SheWhoMustBeObeyed

Looking at just the thumbnail I thought, “That’s a WERQ!” But the enlargement (pun intended) really changed my mind. Everything else is perfect, but the boobage makes it an OUT.

  • GTrain

God no. M boobs hurt just looking at that. OUT

  • Wendy Wetzel

    Way too much duct tape…..

  • howdoilook

They’re too distracting, those baby heads. I can’t see anything else. Also: ditch the wigs! So pretty, and so much more youthful, without them. OUT.

  • Susan Crawford

This is a wonderful color for Ms. Davis – it definitely complements the richness of her complexion magnificently. If ONLY the neckline wasn’t so plunging and squeezy! No reason not to give the girls a night out, and admittedly hers are pretty spectacular, but to compress them like this just looks desperate. I actually liked the eyeshadow – again, that incredible complexion makes it possible. But because of the boobage abuse, I must say: OUT.

  • OUT. Though the smile distracts somewhat…

  • reddhouston

I love every part of it except how insane her boobs look.  They look smooshed and uneven, it just doesn’t come off classy like she normally does.

  • vmcdanie

IN. Ok, I am not a fan of tits or lady bits near to popping out but otherwise, she looks perfect. The color is beautiful on her and her body is slamming. I don’t care what you say, I’m a fan of orange eye shadow (and thus, my vote probably just got chucked out.)

  • OUT, can’t get past the squished boobs.

  • OUT for askew inflated baby heads. Plus the orange eyeshadow which I could have let go but when coupled with painful boobage display, I cannot.

  • MissMariRose

OUT. Those mangled boobs ruin the look.

  • fiestyfashionfem

Love the color and the dress – but those baby heads are scaring me.  So I’m going with OUT.

  • janetjb

    Lovely color on her.

Makeup & fit are a disaster.

  • nannypoo

Beautiful, except for the very obvious problem. It seems tackier on her than on many other celebrities because she usually demonstrates taste and elegance and here she just demonstrates boobs.

  • BazoDee

I’m so torn!! Great color, flattering waist and the dress has a nice flow -buy GAWD all you see are her lopsided boobs. It is so distracting I have to go with OUT.

  • sweetlilvoice

I think although she looks super hot, a little help is needed to support her girls. In because it’s a beautiful color and she is smiling too.

  • Out!  She looks gorgeous otherwise but sheesh, no one will see that as they focus on her boobiliciousness!

  • cluecat

IN.  I believe there is a double standard here.  So many times we see these cuts of flat chested endowed women.  While, that’s fine, but I’ve looked at probably miles of boney clavicle on the red carpet.  Nobody bats an eye.  But if someone with beautiful chi-chis dares wear a similar cut, somehow it’s obscene and in poor taste.  They’re BOOBS ffs!  Celebrate them!  It’s not like she’s walking around a flashing LED display of hard core porn in her decolletage.

Even though lefty looks like it could use an adjustment, I say IN IN IN .

And, bright colors on dark skin = classic, chic, beautiful.

    • BrooklynBomber

I think the issue most people have is not that her breasts are showing, but they they look flattened, squished, bound, and pushed around.

    •  It’s not a double standard to say that dresses work better on certain bodies than on others. It’s just common sense.

  • lalahartma

    Just say ‘no’ to babyheads!

  • MzzPants

I am launching a campaign against baby heads.  Looking at them takes me right back to my last mammogram.  OOOOUUUUT.

  • rumcg66

Baby heads ruin everything. Which is truly a shame because that dress is fabulous. OUT.

  • ChristySchiff

I’m going to have to call this an OUT.  Even though I guess it’s really useful to be able to wear your own mammogram machine…

  • JanieS

  • I can’t stop staring at her boobs. I’m not sure if that’s the effect she wanted.

  • Supremes-era Diana Ross meets Pamela Anderson. Like silicone and water, these do not mix. OUT.

  • OUT.  Too boobalicious.

  • Nope, sorry, she’s out.  The matchy eyeshadow and the boob disparity are an OUT for me!

  • Bozhi

I can’t even look at the dress or the eye makeup.  That look is OUT.  When you take what is probably a nice dress and wear it like that, you are out.

  • MoreShoes

OUT. She looks like a pornstar.

    • judybrowni

A porn star would make sure her screaming boobs matched, at least.

  • OUT! too much boob. its so distracting.

  • snich11

OUCH!! Boob abuse…NOT attractive! Does she not own a mirror?

    • poggi

Maybe she wrangled them into the dress successfully when she tried it on.  I have a bra like that.  It’s fine for about an hour after I have adjusted it, but then inevitably I end up with 4 boobs.   I want to give her the benefit of the doubt because I like her.  I am going to chalk it up to wardrobe malfunction and assume she is just that good of an actress that she is smiling and pretending it’s not happening.

  • Out. It is rather unfortunate, but seriously they are shining like gumballs.

  • You guys crack me up – “babyheads” indeed! Sorry, but that just looks tacky and nasty. OUT! But I love you, Viola!

  • Whimsique

If all I can see is BOOBSBOOBSBOOBS, it’s an out.

Seriously, I could probably give her an in if they weren’t distractingly differently shaped. If you’re going to smush your tits, they should be smushed symmetrically.

  • Gail Kwak

I’m going to give her an IN because I think the good outweighs the bad here.  Baby heads notwithstanding.

  • CQAussie

GAH!!!!!!  I’m being assaulted by Fierce Boobs on a Rampage.  Good grief.  I love her, I think this dress is fantastic but holy cow those tits are terrifying.  OUT.

  • Ms_Flyover

She’s one inch of material away from being a WERQ.

As gorgeous as I think she is (and how great that color is on her), I have to go with OUT.

  • RedRaven617

As much as I love the color and cut of the gown, I have to say OUT. Those boobs are just too distracting.

  • judybrowni

OUT. I was thinking how pretty she looked — hair, orange dress — before I got a shot of that painful and  mismatched boobage.

    Ouch, makes my breasts ache.

  • NasserShaheen

  • AgingWell

Out. The dress does flatter her very fit shoulders & arms, though.

  • Markatha

This is probably the worst Boob View ever.  OUT.

  • LesYeuxHiboux

Her poor boobies! I can’t see anything else. The worst part is that they are squished into different, non-symmetrical shapes. Very unflattering. I love you Viola, you gorgeous dame, but you’re OUT.

  • AlexisPayne

I love everything, but THAT is really distracting. Out, you’re fabulous, but the ladies are a little too buxom for that neckline.

  • MilaXX

She doen’t deploy the baby heads often & she’s fab. IN

  • poggi

The color is fantastic, the cut is flattering through the midsection, and the halter neckline highlights her great shoulders and arms, but, BUT when a  dress does that to your breasts, you just have to walk away.  OUT.

  • OUT!!!! The baby heads ruin an otherwise beautiful dress.

  • giiiirrrr

OUT.  If you are small-breasted, you can wear a plunging neckline and it only looks a bit risque.  When you’re blessed with an awesome rack like Ms. Davis’, your chest becomes the focal point, and not in a good way.

  • AngelaGreen

OUT.  Love her, but those boobies and their unevenness are terribly distracting.

  • Too much boob. OUT.

  • Jessi03

I hate the babyheads.  No no no.  Great color for her, though!

  • Pants_are_a_must

Oh dear lord. What is she DOING to her boobs. OUT.

  • JaneDC

Perfect, except for the boobs. What happened there? And why didn’t someone tell her? I’d like to think it started out right and then she moved or twisted or did a jump shot and things went awry. Again, why didn’t someone tell her? This is such an egregious error, I abstain from voting.

  • Such a shame about the boobage.  Other than that, the color and style of this dress is smokin’ and Viola looks fabulous…but the eye goes right to her chest (and not in a good way…) so I have to say OUT.  Sorry–still love ya, gal…

  • Snailstsichr

Love the eyeshadow, but hate the babyheads. Out.

  • Mentos.  The Fresh Maker.

    OUT on the boobies.

  • carpediva

Ewwww, no. Mentos-boobage takes this quite swiftly and definitely to OUT.

  • sherrietee

She needs to hold that award differently when wearing that dress.  I think that’s what’s causing the migratory tit.  So, conditional IN.

  • john v

i was so distracted by the puppies (actually may be full grown dogs) that i didn’t even notice how beautiful the dress was. OUT

  • Sara__B

Out. Those baby heads aren’t even a matched set, and ruin an otherwise fabulous look.

  • Pterodactyl111

OUT, but barely. It’s the matching eyeshadow that really did in in for me.

  • jjfg

How lovely!  She has breasts!  Who knew?

  • Out. Love the colour but I just can’t get over the boobs.

  • BuffaloBarbara

The babyheads are uneven and scary.  OUT.  I’m not even that crazy about the dress, not that I can look at it without looking at the tilted girls.

  • lolaleen

Ugh. OUT. Babyheads are vulgar and completely distracting.

  • Viola, darling, I love you and think you’re amazing beautiful, but it looks as though you’re smuggling bagels in your bodice!

  • miwome

Jesus. No. Any dress that is making me think, “Did Viola freaking Davis, of all people, get a shitty bolted-on boob job?” is not only a crime against her gorgeousness but also detrimental to her brand. While I agree the color is great, IMO someone should get fired for this. No multiple-nominated/winning Best Actress should be reminding me of Katie Price, ESPECIALLY when Oscar campaign season is still on.

    (Great wig, though.)

  • Nope. Can’t do it. OUT.

  • StillGary

Beautiful color on her, but she is out on a pop fly! Don’t even run to first Viola! Not only are those babies “not twins” they don’t even have the same daddies! Sorry!

  • j_anson

Those aren’t just baby heads, those are what. the. HELL? I gotta go OUT because you just can’t see anything else. Though it’s a lovely color, if I could just… focus on it.

  • Toto Maya

WHY THE BOOBS? THE BOOBS. Sorry, they are far too distracting.

  • Rrroza

Tortured=Out. Too bad, color is great!

  • That had to hurt afterward.

  • judybrowni

Several comments have summed these up as “porn star boobs.”
Ah, but porn stars would make sure their boobs matched, at least.

  • OUT! Should have been a WERQ! If the top section was ….. well… anything but this maybe it would have been. Plus she was nominated, you know you’re going to be photographed – why do this to yourself? *sigh* so disappointing given she’s been excellent on red carpets this season.

  • I wish your polls worked in Chrome. 🙁 But yeah, the boob smoosh ruins it for me. She would have looked amazing, but those puppies are whimpering.

    • It’s not a poll. There’s no button to push. You just add a comment.

  • Liz

My boobs are experiencing empathy pain.

  • ew, no.  OUT, because my breasts actually hurt in empathy.

  • MsKitty

Seeing this pic makes me relive the trauma of my annual mammograms. OUT.

  • Color is fantabulous. The girls ruin it. Out.

  • Hilary Sain

    Gross.. OUT

  • aimee_parrott

    ouch.  OUT.

  • Terry Weyna

No, no, a thousand times no.  And yes, as with many other women posting here, my girls hurt just looking at that picture.

  • Hate to do this because she is gorgeous, but OUT based solely on the babyheads.

  • Out! They don’t even look like boobs but a pair of buns.

  • lrhoff

No way is she “in” here, unless she’s blind and has absolutely no friends in the world to prevent her from this travesty.  Good grief, it could be the greatest dress in the world (and it is striking), but with those loose cannons bobbling about, one doesn’t even notice the actual garment.

  • So close, yet so, so far. Out.

  • OUT. If it was a v-neck, that would be better but… no, just no.

  • occbitch

No, no, no! The funbags totally spoil an otherwise great look.

  • mayah1806

    no words. out.

  • Sophie Collier

Aw come on.  What’s the fun of having cleavage if you don’t get to rock it once in a while?  I think the lopsidedness is due to the heaviness of the award she’s holding.  Her pecs are making her boobs move.  Maybe the halter is a ~bit~ tight, but I still give his an IN.

Here are two other pics of the same outfit.

    • JaneDC

She/they look better in those shots. And her hubby is very handsome!

  • DeborahLipp

She’s been fierce and fierce and fierce on the RC, but dude, those tits are CRYING. Out.

  • boweryboy

OUT.  If you’re going to rock the cleavage make sure the babyheads are symetrical.

     So close Viola…so close.

  • Ellie Rowe

OUT! The boobies are lopsided. and there ain’t nobody who likes lopsided baby headed twins at an award show.

  • ChaquitaPhilly

No, I’m sorry. She has to be OUT!

  • OUT.  Are you kidding me?  That looks frickin ridiculous.

  • siriuslover

I was getting my car serviced this morning when I tried to vote on this, but the link was blocked because of the company’s wifi policies.  It’s a FASHION BLOG!!!! Jeez, you’d think I was trying to access porn or something.

Anyway, the dress is almost there. I love that color, and I love that color on her. However, I’m overly distracted by the babyheads, especially the one that looks oddly squashed. I just can’t give it an In.

    out, but just barely.

  • hgtnteach82

Oy, the boobies are ridonkulous here.  How is this attractive?  Beautiful woman with badly arranged breasts.

  • OUT, but maybe this would have been better for a “Girl this is not your dress” entry.  It’s really a great dress, just not on her.

  • veronkimo

OUT! Those babyheads ruin the look. You need to have a smaller cup to gracefully pull of that neckline.

  • Haley Buchanan

  • No, no, no baby heads, no. Ew. They give me an icky feeling. I don’t like it. I love the way the dress drapes and the color. If it had a different top I would have given it an in.

  • emily mcginnis

out! the boobs ruin the entire look.

  • Anathema_Device

Out, babyheads ruin it. Sorry Viola.  I don’t mind low cut dresses with boobs highlighted, but her breasts are so squished and distractingly odd looking here. And she has been on such a run!

  • marciekr

OUT!  Be kind to the girls!

  • LuisaNL

that is a great dress and a great color on her but it just looks painful and unnatural. OUT.

  • Dagney

  • The boobs are creeping me out. Wish they were a bit more covered up and this would be perfect. OUT.

  • Patti Lever

Her chesticles look like they are in pain and lopsided. Ouch!

  • formerlyAnon

Just barely OUT because of the squishy balloon/baby head effect from which I can barely pull my eyes. Pity, because the dress is otherwise PERFECT on her.

  • I just can’t on the baby heads. I just can’t. OUT.

  • elleg929

Love her but I just can’t.  OUT

  • PeaceBang

She looks horrible. Ridiculous. The dry, bad hair, the Attack of the Lopsided Boobs and did she use a Sharpie around her eyes? I can’t believe a woman this beautiful can look this bad. OUT.

  • Daenyx

I… I can’t with the babyheads.  I blame fashion for sucking at providing tasteful options to cover large-ish ones, but this has gotta be an out.

  • Samantha Irene

OUT – all you see is boobs. That’s not what you want in such a nice dress

  • sadly, the boobs make this an OUT for me – because dammit this dress should be about showing off her insanely sexy shoulders!

  • butterflysunita

Oh, no.  This would have been a WERQ with a higher neckline.  She looks gorgeous–color is lovely and on her and cut is flattering.  But….no, no.  OUT.

  • TSkot

Out.  I’m actually a little embarrassed for her.

  • Worse than baby heads – squealing balloons. She might as well have gone topless. OUT.

  • OUT for the squished boobies.

  • Lexie

“OUT! Baby heads ruin EVERYTHING! And her eyeshadow matches her dress!” Word.

  • KathKo

    Out. Just… Out.
How could you do that to your baby, Viola darling ?
They look like they’re trapped and trying to escape !

  • Granny Panty

OUT.  She should have her dresser shot for allowing her breasts to look this way.  It completely detracts from her poise and beauty. OUT – but I’m sorry about it.

    • alyce1213

Exactly — no one told her ?!?  And I feel bad about it, too.

  • Kirsten Kirsten

Oh I want to say In- she looks this close to perfect. But that cleavage… just no. Out.

  • oh my they look all kinds of squished and unhappy.  too distracting.  out.

  • demidaemon

IN. She looks smoking, despite the babyheads.

  • Monabel

    Oh, dear. Ouch. No.

  • LindafromChicago

I don’t think you need to see boobs ready to burst out.  She can save that for her husband or lover.  It’s too bad but I will have to say OUT, though the color is fantastic on her.

  • altalinda

Wow, hard to see anything else but those breastballs.  Out.

  • chitowndg

out: the baby heads look ridiculous.

  • benjamin478

Gonna have to say IN…but of course as a breast-less individual, i don’t feel right to pass judgement on how ladies should handle their mammaries. for me, in this case, hers don’t ruin the look.

  • So very OUT.  Cringe-worthy, even.

  • greatscoutm

    Baby heads + eyeshadow=OUT

  • margaret meyers

A bib would have improved this look.  I have no complaints EXCEPT for the tortured boobs.  OUT!

  • Out.  Sorry Viola.  Love everything about the look except the baby heads.  A shame really.

  • Out – Babyheads ruined the look. Sorry.

  • I love Viola, but this dress just looks tacky. Out.

  • unbornfawn

    OUT. The boobs look tormented.

  • sagecreek

Love Viola, but oh no, did she not look in the mirror?

  • sagecreek

Love Viola, but oh no, did she not look in the mirror?

  • Sorry-the babyheads tit, I mean TIP, the scales into streetwalker territory.  Love the color on her though.

  • holdmewhileimnaked

stupid cleavage, stupid wig, what the hell, why.

  • Ezmartin

In. She looks stunning. Let her show off what God gave here every once in a while 😉

    • unbornfawn

Cleavage is fine. We love cleavage here. It is just that this dress is shoving her girls in all kinds of weird directions and look painful.

  • Lisa

Is it just me, or do you guys suddenly feel like playing volleyball?

  • AudreysMom

Love her. Love the color. Hate the hair and the dress and the babyheads.

  • butter nut

IN, but those tits!  girl…  she looks so amazing, there was no need for all that boobage.

  • SatelliteAlice

Out.  It looks too trashy and the eyeshadow REALLY bugs me.

  • alyce1213

Sorry, but the babies look awkward and wrong; bad enough to ruin an otherwise perfectly good dress. Someone should have told her that you need a small bosom to wear it.
    So OUT.
Also, when is this gorgeous woman going to lose the bad wigs?

  • I love the color of the dress and her hair and make up look fresh and flattering, but the girls are too distracting and not in a sexy way.  OUT.

  • It’s a fantastic color on her, but … no. Wow, I’m in sympathy pain. How much tape is holding those things up, Viola? Damn, girl. OUT.

  • OUT. I can’t even look at her outfit, those babyheads are hypnotizing me.

  • faux heads

  • xmixiex

    boobs look ridic.

  • ThaliaMenninger

Everything else is perfect. Wahhhhh. I love her. But those babyheads… No. Just no. OUT.

  • LittleKarnak

Out for the baby heads…hopefully she got this out of her system before the Oscars!!!

  • OUT. Just like the babyheads.

  • IN, fierce

  • tallgirl1204

Not a good look for anyone, even someone as fabulous as she.  Out.

  • CPK1

she looks tacky. something I thought I would never say about Viola.

  • Yeesh. Gorgeous colour on her, potentially gorgeous dress but WTF is up with the boobs? They look like they’re hard plastic, they’re in an odd position and are the sole focus of the whole look. If you had to spend half an hour with her you’d spend it constantly wondering if they were going to pop out or explode or deflate or something – not quite the intended impression I’m sure.

  • elzatelzabelz

OUT- The babyheads push this into TACKY territory.

  • elzatelzabelz

OUT- The babyheads push this into TACKY territory.

  • TheDivineMissAnn

I am embarrassed for her.  The girls look bad…bad…bad.

Which is a shame because the dress is fab.

  • Rokesmiths

Out. The baby heads are embarrassing.

  • Peeve

Out. Love her, love the color and most of the dress, but it’s impossible to see anything but squished boobs and a titscrepancy to boot.

  • No one is going to be looking at anything BUT those awful lopsided babyheads, so it really doesn’t matter that it’s a gorgeous colour and cut. No one is looking at the gorgeous colour and cut. Out.

  • I’m sorry, but OUT. The tit window makes this tacky as shit.

  • This is such a great color for her, and I am in no way against showing a little cleavage, but dear god these pictures are making my tits hurt in empathy. OUT, but SO CLOSE.

  • OUT. I didn’t even notice the wonderful cut and style of the dress- all I wondered was…”how bad must that hurt???”

  • oh her eye shadow is fine, and the color is beautiful but those boobs, no, i can handle it OUT

  • Vickiefantastico

She looks so darned gorgeous that I hate to give her an OUT, but those boobs, especially the underboob, are extremely distracting. Sorry, Viola.

  • quiltrx

That’s just too much tit…AND a titscrepancy to boot.  It kills a great look…pains me to say, but OUT.

  • Linderella

This makes my tits hurt–and I don’t even have tits.

  • TieDye64

OUT OUT OUT! Baby heads kill it dead.

    • Christine

       Wow, now there’s a slogan T.Lo need to put on a t-shirt!

  • samo_samo

EVERYTHING works for me…the color of the dress, the hair, the makeup- on those factors alone I’d say in, but doggone it the excessive cleavage just spoiled it for me. I really hurts me to say out 🙁

  • ccm800

OUT for boob torture and shadow.

  • Patsye Peebles

Gosh, I can’t see anything BUT the boobs!  It makes me hurt!  OUT, OUT, OUT!!

  • Truly_Outrageous

Its a shame. The dress itself is beautiful and she looks great. But the boobs. The stylist (or anyone in the room for that matter) should’ve helped her adjust the girls. I really wanna give her an IN but Im gonna meekly say OUT. Im so sorry Viola.

  • texashistorian

Oh, my nipples have shriveled in pain just by looking at her mammaries. A very uncomfortable out.

  • DesertDweller79

OUT!  All I can see are her squashed boobs.  It looks painful.  And they look crooked, even.  No.  Just no.

  • Celandine1

OUT OUT OUT! So unfortunate because if it wasn’t for the horrible boob smushing this outfit would be a total WERQ for me. Every time I see something like that all I can say is WTF was she thinking and did she look in a mirror when she tried on the dress?

  • fashionablylate

I’m not even close to being a prude, but this looks tacky as HELL. OUTTTTTT.

  • Qitkat

Those conjoined twins need surgery. STAT.

  • clubgoingseel

    nononononoooo…. sorry Ms Davis… OUT

  • BayTampaBay

    OUT.  The babies look lopsided.

  • nancylee61

Nope, OUT. Too much boobage AND titscrepancy to boot. Who dressed her?? The only good thing is the color.

  • nancylee61

Nope, OUT. Too much boobage AND titscrepancy to boot. Who dressed her?? The only good thing is the color.

  • jw_ny

Smashed and contorted baby heads are definitely too distracting!  Too bad too because that dress is beautiful, aside from the cut and fit at the cleavage, and is a super color.

  • Since the rest of the look would rate a WERQ from me, I’m going to have to say “in”, but know that it is DESPITE the boob issues. I cannot condone such mistreatment.

  • amywinns

    Ugh. Undignified. Tragic. Out.

  • The uneven baby-heads are too distracting for an In.  OUT.

  • sid123

No for the ridiculous boobage, fuck no for knowingly putting them out there like that. Please have a little self respect, you can act just fine, no need to revert to the lowest denominator.

  • PhillipWilde

    Babyheads are inexcusable. OUT.

  • They’re crooked.  There’s an app for that.

  • Out. Viola, girl, you are up for an Oscar! You don’t need shove your tits in our faces for attention!

    I love that color though.

  • Beardslee

    out.  ouch.

  • Love the dress (the color is AMAZING) but those baby heads. No. Out.

Out.  Unfortunate Out.  All of the stunningness is obliterated by the escaping babyheads!  I mean, how do you not see this as a problem when you look in the mirror??  And they look wonky…  Too bad because it could have been perfection.

  • TheOriginalLulu

No. Just say no to the babyheads.

  • PrunellaV

No. No. And ever since I’ve seen her real hair, I can’t stand the wigs.

  •  Out, she’s better than this! The boob situation screams ‘attention whore’.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

OUT.  I can’t stand babyhead boobs.  Or orange eye shadow.

  • ChristinaRi

    No. No. No.

Someone call the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Boobies immediately!!

Gorgeous color on her —   But squished boobies are to pleasant to feel or to view.

  • Why do celeb women do that to themselves? No matter how fab the outfit, how classy, how great the color, having your tits shoved into weird formations and bared to the world is going to look hoochie.

  • calimon

    Eww! OUT.

  • YolandaHawkins

OUT!  I love the color on her, but I’m so distracted by the boobage, that I cannot.

  • Oh, man.  Out, but with regrets.

  • OUT. Everytime I see boobs squished to the point where they look like balloons, I have the urge to pop them with a pin.

  • Well, we are all allowed to make mistakes. And this almost was an IN. I can’t forget that Viola Davis brings so much thoughtful, brilliant analysis to her work and to interviews. And she’s just so lovely– we all saw that LA Times magazine feature.

Anyway, almost IN but I do think the boobs were distracting enough to make this particular outfit an OUT. So sad– everything else was fabulous.

  • Gayer_Than_Thou

Looking at this again, I have to ask: is there a time when underboob isn’t vulgar on the red carpet/at an awards show?  Private sexy times — a whole ‘nuther story.

  • out the dress doesn’t look comfortable or that it fits her up top.
