Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 Ad Campaign

Posted on January 20, 2012

Darlings, here’s your Daily Pretty, the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 ad campaign featuring everfab Karlie Kloss, modeling The Master’s wares to perfection. We love that shot in the sunglasses. Let’s all pretend we’re going to a party tonight full of people dressed like this. Who knows? Maybe some of you already are. You lucky bitches.

    Karlie is serving it.

  • Stefanos Mantyla

First I noticed that that second to last shot of her legs looks entirely computer-generated (not just photoshopped). Then I noticed many of the others look computer-generated, too. Looks nice, otherwise, though.

    • Anonymous

Right? These look more like digital renderings than like photographs.

Many times close ups of products like shoes are shot with a completely different model.. a “parts” model who they hire only for their legs and feet.

I’m in love with Karlie Kloss. Perrrrod.

  • Anonymous

Fabulous! I’m not going to that party, but I want to.

    • Anonymous

sure we are, meet you there in 10!

      • P M

I’m joining the party crashers too!

  • Hannah Ingalls

I want a house with that floor in it.

    • Anonymous

I do… my kitchen.  3M makes a fantastic new primer/prep product now that works wonders on a floor and then you paint the pattern over that and seal it.  Time consuming, very time consuming but FAB results.

      • Anonymous

do you have a link to the product, or the name of it?

Love it all with the exception of the lace belly top with the crimson ballgown skirt.  That is a little matronly for my tastes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Catherine Zeta Jones wore it.  I want the fringe dress.  I’d be the girl wearing it to the completely wrong event and then thinking, “I don’t care, I love this dress and I would wear it to bed if it didn’t cost more than my TempurPedic!”

  • Anonymous

That’s some stunning shit, TLo. I love all the accessories and I’ll be crying myself to sleep tonight thinking about the white dress with the powder pink belt.

  • Anonymous

I love, love, love that this is an ad campaign that is NOT just fierce, NOT just stylish, but also shows the clothes.

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

Word, my dear,…word.  I get really frustrated at the number of supposed editorials and campaigns for clothes that are so damned atmospheric they forget that as a customer you just might be interested is SEEING the the merchandise.

  • Anonymous

Oooh, I want to go to the party in that dress in the 5th photo. The red skirt with white top. Since we’re pretending, I’ll also make believe I’m much taller than I am.

  • Anonymous

The green shoes, while being a sort of bootie, almost looks dainty.

    • Anonymous

Isn’t that wonderful???  No more cinder blocks!

      • Anonymous

        Or hooves!

    • Anonymous

YES! Nary a platform to be found!  Please let that trend go away, fashion godesses!

      • Anonymous

        And a hearty AMEN!

  • MilaXX

Ooh pretty! and can I say how happy I am that wedges are back in style? Cute and comfortable.

    • Anonymous

      Me too.

This is how I’m dressing for my pottery class tonight.

Will your minions be molding the clay for you, while you nod listlessly in approval?

Because every person who dresses as beautifully as this needs, no REQUIRES minions to do the heavy lifting.

    Love all the colors!

    Love the pretty shoes!

    Love the gorgeous clothes!

Love an ad with a model modeling the clothes instead of some overexposed celeb!

    Bravo, Oscar!

  • Anonymous

    Damn, I love those shoes.

  • Anonymous

    Green Shoes. Want. Now.

Great pictures- shows the clothes (as some have already said), and by golly, makes me WANT the clothes. To quote Liz Lemon “I want to go to there.”

  • Anonymous

    Love.  Beautiful clothes, beautiful photos.

  • Judy_J

I aspire to be that woman in the white linen/lace blouse and green capri pants.  I want that floor, too.

  • Anonymous

Lea Michele WILL wear the aqua feathered dress. I’m calling it now.

  • Anonymous

Love everything except for her mouth being open in the second one. IDK when that caught on as a modeling trend or whatever, but it looks dumb, and you can relax your face without having your mouth open.

    • Anonymous

At least she’s not doing it in every single shot. I hear you, though.

      • James Cerne

i agree, its ok sometimes. sometimes people open their mouths. models can too.

  • Anonymous

I would wear all of this.  Might get some strange looks at the grocery store, but oh well.  I’d be fabulous.

  • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

    Why… hellloooo red dress.

Not sure I love the fringe dress or the poncho shirt, but send the red dress right on over. :o)

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

You’re going to have to fight me for it, Liana!  :)

  • Ceur –

She just rubs me the wrong way. I’ve seen worse faces on her, though.

  • Anonymous

I guess I’ll be the first to express my dislike of the shoes.  The colors are great, to be sure, but waaaay too many straps for my taste.  Just makes the feet look too long.

My favorite outfit is the one with pants.

  • P M

My God, to have the figure and the money to wear this.

  • Anonymous

These are China Chow’s clothes.  Just wait.

  • Anonymous

Adore the pretty dresses, separates, accessories. Those shoes were made for me — Size 7, one of each style in every color, please.

Sadly, all I can afford is the sunglasses, but I’d look like a Damselfly.

  • Anonymous

Very pretty, all of it. I especially love that yellow purse.

That white and red dress is gasp-worthy GORGEOUS.

  • Anonymous

I want everything here… even the room they are in.  Can’t help it, I love that floor.

  • R. L.

Gorgeous.  I like everything except the shoes.  I tried on some platform Mary Jane’s today and I just decided I don’t like them.  Each to his/her own.

  • Lisa

Oh, god, I LOVE everything!  And I rarely say that.  And I must have those shades!

  • Anonymous

J’ADORE!  Wish I had the bod (and the age range, not to mention the wallet) to sport that pale blue fringe number.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1043171034 Tadiana Walton Jones

I’m wearing that red dress tonight, while I’m cooking a spaghetti dinner for the kids.

  • Anonymous

I want that first dress and the floor too and the house to go with it.   I really like this–all of it.  Even the stuff I am not predisposed to like looks good here.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bethany-Roullett/100000413803142 Bethany Roullett

I’ll take those shoes in every color.  Please o please.

  • J Dreesen

when i first saw the photo of the glasses in your teaser, i thought it was Austin Scarlett.

  • Anonymous

That’s a whole lot of awesome!

  • Anonymous

Thought I was getting tired of the boot-shoes, but those are a beautiful iteration.

  • Anonymous

A real model, smartly styled, with beautiful shots AND you see the actual clothes.
More of this, please! WERQ it Karlie.

  • Anonymous

Woefully not one of the lucky bitches attending a party in anything close to these outfits.  Tomorrow’s another day, though!!

  • Anonymous

One of the few times in life I wish I were a girl–because those are some gorg clothes!  I would wear any- and everything (okay, except maybe the tablecloth blouse in pic 3, but I was trying to avoid being bitchy, besides which the pants and shoes more than make up for it).
Great model + great clothes = great photos!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1046681022 Paula Berman

If I had the bod and the $$$, would totally bedeck myself in this.

  • Anonymous

That is some great modeling and photography (and Photoshop). I want those lime green wedges even though 1. they don’t work with my lifestyle and 2. they would probably not look as cute on me.

But they way they’re presented, there’s a lot of energy in the calf, giving the impression the wearer is happier because she’s wearing them (and not tortured or blistered, the way you see so many celebrity feet in borrowed red carpet shoes).

Are they green capri pants? Please tell me it’s just how she’s been styled/the way she’s lying!

  • Anonymous

Does his name actually get printed on top of every picture?  Looks like iStock Photo rights

  • http://ymwlt.blogspot.com/ Dawn Sinclair

As much as I love Sr De La Renta some of this stuff looks a teeny but like table cloths – sorry. And I’m not loving the plasticy quality of the photographs. And yes, actually, plasticy IS the technical term for this effect 😉

  • http://twitter.com/kellyfrancess Kelly Johnston

    Karlie is a classic beauty

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1264609232 Samantha Ritchie

    the SHOES! LOVE.

  • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

Love love love those shoes, and I can’t stand wedges normally.  Beautiful clothes, beautiful model.  Wish they didn’t feel the need to photoshop everything to death!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jane-Lister-Korwan-Doherty/1332309111 Jane Lister-Korwan Doherty

I love the photos, but too much photoshop on the skin, this girl is gorgeous with naturally beautiful skin she doesn’t need the extra photoshop.

Dang, i want those green shoes

  • Susan Crawford

The flowy white lawn and lace shirt over those slim pants with the amazing green shoes – yes, beeyotches, I will cut you into slivers for that look! And that red silk skirt with the white lacy top? The cutabitch knife is still sharp. Gotta hand it to Oscar – the man knows his pretty-pretty, and this is a fabulous collection. SO elegant and springy and beautifully modelled by Ms. Kloss.

The flowy white lawn and lace shirt over those slim pants

      That’s MINE!!

      • Susan Crawford

Let’s meet on the steps of the Met Museum and duke it out! (Or else we can share it???) Because one way or another, that design must be worn by those who truly appreciate the genius of it. amirite? :-)

        • Anonymous

          Sigh . . . I suppose I can share if I have to. 😉

  • Anonymous

I love that blue fringy dress.  I’m going to buy one and sashay around my house in it, and the neighbors can just think what they like.

  • Anonymous

Beautiful frocks aside, I want that floor!

  • http://phantomminuet.blogspot.com/ MinAgain

    Love that green and white.

Oscar de la R. has come a long way from “Bright Lights, Big City”

  • Anonymous

Oh man, those green shoes are one thing my daughter and I agree upon!  (Fashion transcends generations…)   Seriously, I want them.  I may not be able to totter around on those heels, but I’d look damn fine reclining on the Laz-Y-Boy…

    • Anonymous

you’ve got an idea there.  i could wear them if i didn’t have to stand up and walk. good for when i’m doing some medical cannabis since i can’t stand up or walk then either.

  • Melvis Velour

I’ll probably get hissed at for saying this but when I did a quick look at the main page of the photo of Karlie in the glasses, I thought “..is that Victoria Beckham?”  Just sayin’ fellow Bitter Kittens…

  • http://twitter.com/Nancer Nancer

I want those green shoes. I really, really want them. I have no place to wear them, can’t afford them, but still…. WANT them!

    • Anonymous

i want to just put them up on a pedestal and admire them.  and sign me up for the total look with the pea green pants and the tablecloth lace blouse.

  • Anonymous

Wow, I love all the clothes. Can do without the shoes and sunglasses.

  • Anonymous

That floor is giving me flashbacks to the movie Suspiria – yikes!
