Mila Kunis for Christian Dior

Posted on January 06, 2012

Here’s your Daily Pretty, darlings. Mila Kunis is the new face of Dior, which is kinda funny, because her Black Swan co-star Natalie Portman used to be the face of Dior until Galliano stuck several feet in his mouth. Anyway, here she is looking stunning and wearing really pretty things. Can we ask any more of our celebrities than that?

Mila Kunis appearing in the Christian Dior Spring 2012 ad campaigns, photographed by Mikael Jansson.

“I’m honestly just learning about fashion,” Kunis told WWD exclusively in a telephone interview, confessing she’s more of a “jeans and T-shirt” type. But on the eve of awards season, the Ukraine-born actress is relishing the chance to don Dior’s glamorous gowns.

“In my daily life, I don’t wear the most feminine pieces. But I love to feel feminine when I’m on the red carpet,” Kunis said, adding that Dior’s dresses exalt the figure. “I find that Dior is an incredibly grounded house. I always thought what Dior does is so sophisticated, feminine and beautiful.”

She looks beautiful. Her interview annoys me though- why would you say that you are just learning about fashion but you’ve ALWAYS thought that Dior is sophisticated, etc… It makes it sound more than an insincere soundbite then it would usually.

I disagree. You can know little to nothing about the fashion world and still know what Dior is all about. Five years ago about the only fashion names I was familiar with was Dior, Chanel, and Versace. I would have said I was just learning about fashion, but it didn’t mean I didn’t recognize those names and the essence of their designs.

The shots are beautiful, but I can’t get over how unlike Mila Kunis she looks.. which is disturbing being that she is Mila Kunis.

      • Sobaika Mirza

Thee Photoshop was in full force with this, wasn’t it? Something about her mouth…

        • Cortney Dean

Exactly! It is SO downturned in every photo, I don’t remember her looking that way in real life.

          • Sara__B

Her mouth seems to be naturally down-turned, but if the results of my quick online search are correct, she almost never allows herself to be photographed that way. I could find only a few completely unsmiling pictures of her. Even in “serious face” photos, she pulls the corners of her mouth up slightly.

        • foodycat

Also, in that first picture her cheeks look much fuller than usual – almost like she’s had her wisdom teeth out! She is much more beautiful than these pictures.

You are so right. In some shots, she looks like herself. In others, it looks like her mouth was shrunk in the wash.

It’s interesting–I wasn’t thinking that she didn’t look like herself, but rather that I was seeing the Eastern European/Slavic-ness in her much more here than usual. (I remember when I found out where she was from I was completely surprised. I would have probably guessed anywhere but that region.)

She is so much more beautiful than these pictures make her look, not pleased with the photographer or the stylist. But those shoes are to die for!

        • Jody Lee

I agree, she has an interesting exotic look and this shoot doesn’t capture that at all.  It’s unexciting and she could be any of a half dozen nameless caucasian models.

Love her, love her hair, but that shot of her with the red bag and her foot oh-so-casually lightly resting on the stool is just hilariously awkward.

      • Lorrie

Totally awkward, but the shoes look much better when they don’t have to hold up an actual human being.  That’s probably not a good quality in a shoe, but I love them in spite of it.

        • Anonymous

Definitely a killer pair of shoes. If I owned them I would also lounge around in careful halflight and do my best not to scuff them on my furniture.

          • Anonymous

They are all kinds of awesome, aren’t they?  I’d also be afraid of scuffing my furniture with them!

            • accidental housewife

They’re all kinds of beyond friggin’ awesome. I’d be afraid of breaking my leg or slipping a disc or five. But if I could wear/afford them, I’d buy them in a second.

            • Anonymous

That’s why you want to make sure you’re always seated while wearing them. God knows my ankles would never forgive me if I actually stood up in them. As if I could afford a pair, haha.

Oh – my. Those are what my kinkier friends call “Play Party” shoes, because that’s the only place you would dare wear them.

      • Gaby Ripoll

Whoever photoshopped her made her look like Emma Stone.

    • Anonymous

      She really is quite beautiful

    • Anonymous

Phew. That’s a palate cleanser after Steffi. Her eyes are remarkable.

    • Lee Heffner

She looks gorgeous. I love the snakeskin bag.

    • Anonymous

Mila is gorgeous, these photos of her are not.  The third is especially bad.  Shape up, Dior!

    • Anonymous

This is Mila Kunis doing her best Cotillard. Really, Dior?

    • TigerLaverada

      This girl is uncommonly gorgeous.

    • MilaXX

    • Shannon Stewart

I think she’s a better Face of Dior than Natalie Portman was…

    • Judy S

thanks, very attractive. I love the idea that Dior is “grounded.”

    • Lulu Lafurge

Much to love about this, but, really: Khaki-colored capris? When are we going to lose the capris?

      • Gaby Ripoll

Aw I like capris. What I want to know is when we’re going to know who’s replacing Galliano for good at Dior!

    • Anonymous

The third photo of her looks like Kate Moss.

    • Anonymous

      She’s a stunner!

    • Emily

Wow.  She looks amazing.  When I first read that she was the new face of Dior I couldn’t picture it at all -but she looks fab.

    • Loading…

i love mila and dior together. its perfection. now, who is going to be galliano’s permanent replacement?

    • Anonymous

this is a beautiful spread..I wish I would get dresses from Dior..(and shoes, and bags, etc.)

    • Andrea Lane

Alright, but they way overplayed her eyes. The effect is a little alien…like a very expensive Bratz doll.

    • Anonymous

she does look beautiful, the best I’ve seen her.

    • Psy_Chick

She is making the same exact face that Charlize Theron makes in her J’Adore Dior ads. In some shots here, I thought she looked a lot like Theron.

    • Phyllis Craine

      Good choice

    • Hetha Innis

She’s kind of got a Marion Cotillard vibe going. Love the pics.

    • Maria McGarry

    • Paula Berman

It doesn’t look like Mila Kunis!  What happened?  It’s a different very pretty girl.  Weird.

    • Anonymous

Look at her extra long toenails, esp that pinky nail. ICK

      • Anonymous

        sorry the models nails. gross

      • Heather

In the last pic, w/green polish? Those are the runway model, not Mila. Ick indeed, tho.

    • accidental housewife

She is insanely beautiful and she looks fabulous here. I could stare at her for hours.

    • Anonymous

These are very pretty clothes. That dress is elegance itself and j’adore the bag.

I think she is absolutely STUNNING with a lot of interest.  Those eyes are always amazing, kudos to her for this gig.  It is a perfect fit, IMO.

    • MandyJane

Gah! I keep checking Tom and Lorenzo for new posts. It’s Saturday :)

    • Anonymous

I want the skinny pants in black.
They should have left her face alone. It only half looks like her.

    • Patti Lever

      Painted green toenails?  gag

      • Anonymous

and hanging over the end of the shoe! not sexy at all.

    • Anonymous

Well, they took rather pedestrian clothes and made them look glamorous through styling, model, and lens flare. I really want a designer with a point of view back at Dior.

    • Natasha Fairweather

That’s some gorgeous glare and lens flare. Oh, was there a person in those photos? Was she wearing clothes I was supposed to look at?

    • Anonymous

it might feel more intriguing if she wasn’t looking at the camera in every shot.

    • Dawn Sinclair

A tiny hoo moment for the shoes here!
