BET Honors 2012

Posted on January 17, 2012

We’re Golden Globe’d out (even though we have at least one more after-party to get to). Let’s head on over to the BET Honors red carpet and annoy those people for a while!

Beverly Kearney

This dress could go wrong in a lot of ways, but we think it looks pretty amazing on her. The hair, makeup and very low-key jewelry are all well-chosen.

B. Smith

Oh, SWEETIE.

Your dress is pretty nice but we don’t think white sheer hose was a good idea at ALL. Not with red open-toed shoes, not on a female over the age of 16 and definitely not on a woman of color. Your legs look ashy, and we doubt very much that was the goal.

Common

Gorgeous. Just look at that perfect hem.

Could’ve tailored the jacket a little, though.

Cuba Gooding Jr.

Gentlemen, we don’t like hands in pockets or open jackets on the RC or whenever you’re getting your picture taken; we think we’ve established that by now. But perhaps we haven’t established how very much worse the pose looks when you’re wearing a vest looking to pop its buttons and take out a couple of eyes in the room. Also, take your scarf off.

Gabrielle Union in Emilio Pucci

Honey. THOSE shoes?  Really? You look so nice otherwise!

Glenda Hatchett

Serving up drag fierceness, but to be as kind as possible, she needs to invest in a dressing mirror or rely on friends who don’t have a problem saying “Honey, no” to her.

Jill Scott

There’s a part of us that loves it for being so old school diva, but a lady sporting that much boobage really doesn’t need a fur jacket adding more bulk to her.

Amazing fit on the dress, though. Love the hair.

Kat Graham

Too much texture, not enough color. Hate the top knot.

Kelly Rowland

Gotta say, girl BROUGHT IT.

Luke James

A for effort. We don’t love white jackets but that’s just us. The pants are too long and we don’t think that was the right bow tie for that shirt.

Mariah Carey in Vintage Zuhair Murad

It’s not an awful dress, but there’s a lot going on and it’s (of course) typically Mimi-tight, which is to say, like a sausage casing. If we could remove one element, it would be the halter straps and neckline. A simple strapless bustline would tone this dress down considerable. Either way, we don’t think it’s really her dress.

Michelle Williams

That’s a pretty great dress, but she looks about 20 years older than her age. That hair is terrible for her.

Willow Smith in vintage

Adorable. We can’t stand the way she dresses most of the time, but she looks really sweet and chic here.
