Royal Watch: Cathy Cambridge is Feeling Slinky

Posted on December 20, 2011

You guys, Cathy must have snapped and said “FUCK all this protocol! I’ma hit the town looking hot as SHIT! Ya with me, Bill?”

William, Duke of Cambridge, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry attend The Sun Military Awards at Imperial War Museum in London.

Hot, right? But still appropriate. It straddles a nice line. And the jewels are well-chosen, which, come to think of it probably shouldn’t be seen as too much of a compliment when you’ve got access to the kinds of rocks she has. Still, she looks amazing. It’s not an earth-shattering dress or anything, but she looks spectacular in it.

Again with the double-breasted tuxedo, Bill? Stop using your father’s tailor. He’s old; you’re not.

      She is sublime.

      • Anonymous

        Utterly.

And I’d like to throw a WOOF in Harry’s direction… that rapscallion. Can HE wear a suit of what. And I do believe HIS is single-breasted.

        • Sobaika Mirza

          Woof indeed!

        • Anonymous

Sorry, I saw photos elsewhere — his suit is double-breasted, too.  Maybe, as big a tightwad as the senior royals are, Chuck got a discount on tuxes, 3 for the price of 2?

          • http://twitter.com/leslielies Leslie S

the fact that he has his unbuttoned is what is making all the difference! so hot ………

        • Anonymous

I was going to comment that I was too busy ogling Harry to even pay attention to anything else. Yum.

Wonder if she’s got her nude hose on under there.

You’ll learn more than you thought possible about the royal jewel boxes of all those princesses!!
Who knew the Crown Princess of Norway was such a cutie!!
After you two, this is my favorite blog!!

OMG. Thank you (maybe) for that link. I can see inordinate amounts of time spend ogling the jewels over there. Wow.

      • Anonymous

WOW. Thanks for the link. I will have to go through this website when I have more time, but on first glance–wow. Did you see the The Grand Duchess Vladimr Tiara? I would wear that EVERY DAY if I were the Queen. And those emeralds. Sigh.

        • Anonymous

Oh sweetie… that’s just the tip of the iceberg!!  Right now, she’s discussing the top 20 tiaras!!  It’s an early Christmas present!!!
Who knew I would know the difference between the Swedish Steel Cut and the British Poltimore tiara..chuckle chuckle!!
And now I know who the Crown Princess of Denmark is, as opposed the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg!!

When I was a kid, I lived in Belgium and I was always bugging my parents to take me to London so I could visit the crown jewels. :)

Cancelling tonight’s dinner plans to spend the evening on above linked site.  Can never get enough of the royals, any royals.

I’m going to check that out when I’m not at work! There is also dianasjewels.net that chronicles all the jewelry Diana wore. They’ve also started documenting Kate’s.

I adore royal jewels so much I sat there last night and watched a 2-hour documentary that was primarily in Danish about royal jewels. (Fortunately, they did a lot of interviews which were in English, but some were also in French so I had to dust off my French since the Danish subtitles didn’t help a whole lot.)  Crown Princess Mary of Denmark talked at length about the incredible, amazing, gorgeous, STUNNING diamond and ruby set she was given as a wedding present that was her grandmother-in-law’s favorite jewels — it was apparently worn at Napoleon’s coronation, even.  Can you imagine wearing jewels with a provenance like that?  I weep for what was lost in Russia, though — the Bolsheviks prized out all the huge rocks and sold them to raise money; nobody knows what they did with the “small” (i.e. under 5 carats or so) diamonds.  So sad!

        • Anonymous

I watched the very same show… and how odd that all the interviews were in English.

I’m sorry, was there a girl in there with the photo of Harry? HARRY!

      • Anonymous

Yeah – can we talk about Harry for a minute here? Bill should take lessons from his younger bro.

My thoughts exactly!  Harry, Harry, Harry.  Yowsa that dude is cute.

I was thinking Cathy C. looks like she is with Harry instead of Bill.  And it fits!

Harry FTW!  William was SO hot in his younger days but Harry is aging much better.  And I’ve always had a soft spot for red-haired guys.  (Don’t tell my blond hubby)

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_2CNDPMVO4W23R5TVC2QMTJ5BZE Heather

Poor Bill. He seems to lose hair on a daily basis.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_HREPOWNBVUBRIVPQCF3ST2IKDM Euphory

Kinda sad when actually he still is a quite handsome young man, but just has so little hair.

Maybe he should just shave it all off and be “fuck you I’m bold so what?!”  I bet he would look fine that way too.

        • Anonymous

I find many guys become suddenly much more attractive when they do this. Probably not allowed in royalland, sigh.

    • Anonymous

Wow.  I don’t think she has missed the mark yet.  So beautiful.

    • Anonymous

I covet her hair. That is all.

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=523566011 Dawn Grimes Stough

i think she must sleep in sponge rollers… with long, thick hair like hers, i can’t imagine the amount of heat/products that would be required to achieve that look.  i covet her hair too :) and spend waaayy too much time thinking about it!  lol…

        • Anonymous

Not necessarily. I have a daughter-in-law with hair exactly like Kate’s. I’ve seen her come out of the shower, let it dry mostly naturally, then touch it up with a little hair dryer…and it looks fabulous. Some women with long, thick, lustrous tresses are genetically blessed.

        • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

See, I would assume that she DOESN’T use curlers, because her hair is very similar in texture to mine, and I NEVER use curlers because it gives me too tight curls.  It really depends on how well her hair takes curl.

          • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=523566011 Dawn Grimes Stough

whatever she does, i’m totally jealous :)  my hair is the same length and is very very thick… my hair loves heat and products but it’s impossible for me to get that same look and it drives me crazy!!  lol…

            • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I get pretty close and here’s what I do, when possible:

L’Oreal EverStrong Overnight Treatment nightly (leaves it so much softer).  Wash and condition VERY WELL.  Spray with leave-in/detangler, and a bit of silicon product worked it.  Airdry (Blow dryers make my hair frizz without A TON of work) and then I use a 1″ or 1 1/2″ curling iron, switching the orientation of the barrel with each curl (forward vertical, under horizontal, backward vertical, outward horizontal) and mist after each curl with Redken w8less hairspray.  After doing that, I separate the crown and top of my head into sections and spray lightly with hairspray, then clamp the iron as close to the root as possible, with the barrel toward the back of your head and the clip at the front.  Don’t actually curl it, just leave the iron there for 30 sec. or so.  Stick a roller under it until it cools (just a minute is fine.) Then shake it gently and finger comb into place.

            • Anonymous

Jesus God, woman. I realize you probably can knock that out faster than I can visualize doing it, but I guess there’s a reason glamor has never been my strong suit.  Even assuming I managed to leave enough time in the routine to do that, I can’t see having the patience.  I salute you and all my other sisters willing to put in the effort.

            • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I don’t do it daily, believe me!  It does take less than it sounds like, but it’s still a hassle.  I have thankfully learned to do all the curling by feel, so I can sit on my bed and prop my arm up with pillows:)  Otherwise, my hand goes numb.

        • http://twitter.com/NC_Meg Megan

According to her hairdresser, he blows it dry with a paddle brush and then puts velcro rollers in it. There is a pap photo of her getting her hair done like that and Richard Ward posted a step-by-step video tutorial somewhere (can’t remember where now.)

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Not recommended for non-professionals — if you take thick, mildly coarse hair and put in on Velcro rollers without A LOT of experience, it gets painful.

            • http://twitter.com/NC_Meg Megan

I have fine, relatively thin hair and I can attest: it was painful. I now blow it out on cool with a round brush and smooth over areas that need it with the round brush and the blowdryer on hot (sometimes a flat iron. Trying to get away from the flat iron.)

            • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I’m a huge fan of my flat iron.  But I’m pretty sure I’ve tried EVERYTHING  one can do to one’s own hair… including some incidents that are routinely met by giggles.  Hell, I even had one of the old-school blow dryers with the hat at one point — I used to regularly scour garage sales for that kind of thing.  Velcro rollers hold a special place of terror in my heart.  Took me 3 weeks to finally toss the damn things and admit they were beyond me.

    • Lexie

      Gorgeous.

And oooof, Harry is so hot. I never go for guys with that coloring, but daaaamn.

    • Anonymous

Shut it down! I’m so sick of the other dreck she’s been wearing. She looks as beautiful as she did before she got married. This is the way she should dress for evening – even though I’m not normally a fan of the long, long hair, I have to say it looks absolutely gorgeous here.

And I don’t think this should count as ‘shoulder-baring’ as her hair is covering the majority of her shoulders. Tee-hee.  The Royals need to get over themselves.

    • foodycat

Beautiful! I don’t really like a mermaid silhouette but this is a good’un.

    • Anonymous

gorgeous. But could we have gotten her hair swept back so we could actually see the neckline?! Just once? Too much to ask?!

      • http://twitter.com/MissAmynae Amy Putnam Ellinger

Completely agree! I mean, come on, it’s McQueen!! and she has such pretty shoulders, at least put it behind ONE shoulder…

    • http://profiles.google.com/rosatcollege Ros Clarke

      WERQ.

    • MilaXX

eh, I know royals can’t get really wild and crazy, but I would have preferred this in a color. Nothing real out there, but  navy would have been an improvement over boring black. If this was battle of the royals, I’d say Princess Charlene wins this round.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

The necklace has some color to it if you look at it up close — there are red stones (I would assume rubies, but I could be wrong) at the tips of the points on the necklace and set into the bracelet.

        • MilaXX

yeah I noticed that. I’m just not impressed with a black dress.

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

See, I love black when done correctly, by someone who looks good in the stark blacks.  Too often it’s just the fallback color instead of being done for impact.

            • MilaXX

I don’t think she looks bad, just not a wow for me.

Not to anyone who knows pregnancy well — which does appear to leave out the tabloids (not eating peanuts is not a sign of pregnancy, it’s a sign of not wanting any freaking peanuts!  Also, fainting while pregnant does not require a trip to the ER, nor indicate that there’s serious trouble.  It indicates that you’re pregnant.).

Pregnancy doesn’t show up even while naked for up to the first few months, and with a first child it can take even longer.  With my first, I was 5 months pregnant before I would have shown a bump in that dress.  Now with my second, it would have appeared around week 3…

        • Anonymous

oh i showed mighty fast with my first, and it wasn’t with a bump so your correct there, it was a chest that suddenly appeared where little had existed before…..

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Mine started big enough you couldn’t tell, but I had a friend who had that happen with all 5 pregnancies:)

Dear Santa; for christmas I want Cathy cambridge’s life. Failing that, I would just like to know how she gets her hair so shiny!

      • Jenna Kuhmann

        Ditto.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Not for all the diamonds in England would I take that life.  My princess fantasies ended when I saw Fergie on Oprah when I was in jr. high, talking about not being able to open windows at the palace unless ALL the windows are open and even then they had to be set to a certain level.

Though I still wonder… what would they have done if she’d blown that rule off?

        • Anonymous

I agree.  Maybe being a princess in the 1400′s or something would be great.  Now, though?  No thanks.

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

No, being anything in the 1400′s would suck.  I’ll take the money and that’d be quite enough.  You can keep the fame and the power.  I’m good with just being ridiculously loaded thanks:)

            • foodycat

You aren’t drawn to poor dental hygiene and an early death in childbirth?

            • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

It’s more the lack of indoor plumbing.  Most importantly, toilets.  I’m sorry, I require a toilet in my life.

            • Anonymous

Well, yea, but if I had to live in the 1400s, I’d rather be a princess with money to buy fresh food and furs to keep my ass warm.

I agree with you on the money vs. fame/power.  I’ll live my rich hermit life, thank you.

            • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

I’d totally start putting bizarre rumors out there to make me seem more like Howard Hughes at that point, too.  Just for the entertainment.

            • Anonymous

This has always been my attitude. Just give me the money and keep all the other trappings of fame. All the rest of it seems massively inconvenient/uncomfortable/really kind of awful.

    • http://www.facebook.com/julie.z.sardo Julie Zetterberg Sardo

I can’t help but think of the infamous black taffeta strapless Emanuel gown worn by newly-engaged Princess Diana.

      • Anonymous

That is what I thought too.

      • foodycat

I thought of that too – and I wondered if she was deliberately courting Diana comparison.

        • Anonymous

I didn’t get that vibe at all. Diana’s black taffeta number was more of an hourglass shape, and frankly she had more up top than Kate. I love this on her and she looks stunning, but my god, and I know I keep saying this, but the girl is too thin.

      • Anonymous

It is extremely reminiscent of Diana’s dress and very lovely too.

      • Anonymous

I immediately thought that as well!

    • Anonymous

Can I swoon over how flat and perfect his shirt is? No one does it like the Brits.

She looks amazing and really pulled off the intense black, which is not as easy as it looks IMO; although I would have loved it if she were a teeny bit less tanned -she has beautiful skin- and changed her ‘do.

      How foxy is Harry?

    • Rachel Moss

Oh Wills. Honey, my boyfriend has a receding hairline like yours (and he’s about your age). I know it’s super depressing to lose your hair before you’re 30. But you have to accept the reality – and give your hair a nice close crop. You don’t need to go Kojak yet! But the long sides just show it up more on top. Trust me!

Kate looks great. What a beautiful silhouette.

    • Anonymous

For once, I would like to see her in a fabulous updo (imagine the hair jewelry she has access to!). But she looks lovely, as always. Her best asset is her happy face–she always looks so glad to be wherever she is. It’s very refreshing.

    • http://twitter.com/starrika Ali

The jewelry was a wedding present to her. The up close photos of the necklace are stunning and make me wonder if it might be a convertible tiara. I hope so – fun!

I love the black velvet on her, too. Very, very nice.

I just wish she hadn’t chosen a black velvet clutch to go with the black velvet dress.

      • http://twitter.com/MissAmynae Amy Putnam Ellinger

great googily moogily, I adore the fact that she wears McQueen. It’s too bad her position doesn’t really allow her to wear some of his more avant-garde looks!

    • http://asskickingadviser.com/ Ass Kicking Adviser

I like the dress but I can’t really see the front since those damn ‘I just took the hot rollers out’ curls are in the way. I wish she had worn her hair back. Not up – just back. She looks pretty though and tres sexy.

      • Anonymous

LOL. I just posted the same thing. I should have read comments first then posted an “Amen sister!” to you comment.

The hair-in-front look bugged the crap out of me throughout the most recent season of Project Runway. So often, the designers had a good potion of the top of their designs completely obscured by middle-school girl hair!

    • Anonymous

She looks fabulous! I’m getting a little tired of the hair, though. Would an updo kill ya?

    • Anonymous

gorge, I swear she ALWAYS looks stunning and radient. Snow White has major competition for the fairest of them all.

I never realized until I saw them side by side on your site, but Katie Holmes and Kate Middleton could be twins.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

No, Middleton is far more attractive.

    • Warmheartedgirl Seattle

But Harry looks as gorge as usual.  Love the dress on Kate – it is a perfect holidays-type dress, a darker color, a heavier weight, looking opulent and sexy at the same time.  Hair is fabulous, as usual, but the makeup seems a bit heavy handed.  The jewels are to die for.  I want to spend 24 hours some day just touching all the jewels owned by the British crown.

    • Anonymous

i heard this was custom made. are custom made gowns custom in the royal family? or is she just the 21st century princess?

      • Anonymous

The Queen has a personal dresser, Angela Kelly, who designs many of her outfits.
The Duchess is wearing a McQueen gown that was modified for her due to a sheer skirt.

        • Anonymous

          ah! interesting. Thanks!

    • Anonymous

She looks hotter every day as does Harry. Poor William just didn’t get the “aging well” genes.

    • Judy_J

She looks lovely.  The royal life suits her.

    • Diana Martinez

If I looked like her, I’d wear that dress every.single.day.   Wow.

    • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

She looks fantastic.  Absolutely gorgeous and yet completely appropriate.  Most impressed, Duchess.

And I disagree re: the jewels.  I think it’s probably quite a challenge to pick the correct jewels when you have access to the royal collection.  Imagine what the jewel room looks like — going through and finding the right piece for a particular outfit and making sure you don’t go overboard would be difficult.

      • http://twitter.com/starrika Ali

The jewelry is actually Kate’s, and not part of the royal collection. It was a wedding present, per Clarence House. I want friends who give me jewels like that for my wedding!

        https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=204083489680524&set=a.158912377530969.42450.132426196846254&type=1&theater

Thanks Ali. I got no such wedding presents, either.

          • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

Marry a Chinese man.  Mine were nowhere near as elaborate these, but I got some VERY nice pieces for our wedding — my favorite was a jade pendant 2.5 to 3 inches long and elaborately carved with different designs on each side.  It’s fabulous.  There was also a gold cuff bracelet with a very detailed dragon and phoenix motif — which even fit me, shockingly enough, since cuffs are usually way too big for my wrists:)

      • Anonymous

I agree about the difficulty of choosing jewelry when such an amazing selection is available. I think that is aptly called an embarrassment of riches.

Although, I wouldn’t be surprised if there were guidelines.

        • http://twitter.com/starrika Ali

Oh, I bet. “Shoot, I can’t wear the blah-blah-blah ensemble, because it was given by the Duke of Blah, who’s currently feuding with the Countess of Whatever, who’s hosting the event. Oh, and it must be over 10 carats after 5 PM.”

        • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

There are actually.  For one thing, a lot of the jewels are off limits to her at this point.  She has a MUCH smaller collection of pieces she can borrow than the full range, and certain pieces are earmarked for other royals.

          • http://twitter.com/starrika Ali

That’s why it was a big deal the Queen lent her the Queen Mum’s tiara, right?

Sort of.  It was more that she allowed Kate to use an item of great personal significance for her.  I don’t know that there is any formal protocol for who is allowed what and when.

Sometimes people read too much into it as well.  Diana often wore the Spencer tiara, for instance, and many speculated that it was a sign of ill will between she and the Queen.  In fact, it was really just that the royal tiara the Queen had earmarked for her wasn’t as comfortable for her head.

Absolutely stunning.  Knocked it out of the park.

Gorgeous, but it screamed for an up-do.

    • Anonymous

Take a look at the thumbnail pictures of Katherine and Katie on TLo’s home page. Is there a certain resemblance? Or am I just reading into the fact that they are two slender brunettes.

    • Anonymous

Oooooooohhhhhhh Harry!!!!!!! Wait, what were we talking about???

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1326120071 Gaby Ripoll

I like the double-breasted tuxedo on Billy, and this one at least seems to fit.

But Prince Harry is looking especially fanciable there.

    • Anonymous

      She looks gorgeous.
Yeah, Bill depresses me with the fuddy duddy suits. Come on, Billy. You may be the Future King of England and all, but you’re still young and cute and your wife is hot. Step it up!

      shoes?

      • Anonymous

Reports are that she wore Prada satin pumps.

I do not get her at all. I feel like it’s the same one note approach to hair, makeup and clothing.

      • Anonymous

But isn’t that how most of us dress?  We find a style that works for us (hopefully) and make only minor variations.  I think that maybe because on blogs like this we are mainly looking at actresses, who regularly change it up significantly as part of their jobs, it’s easy to forget that that’s unusual behavior for most human beings, famous or not.

        • Anonymous

I just find her boring, that’s all. I’ve just never really gotten the fascination with her. That’s my opinion, which is the fun of commenting in a forum such as this; it’s not about being right or accurate, for me. I think she’s a moderately attractive woman who has access to a lot of fancy clothes, accessories and good makeup. But I don’t really think she’s a head-turner.

    • Anonymous

I want to know who she’s giving the finger to.

      • Anonymous

Yes, a subtle royally proper finger.

      • http://twitter.com/starrika Ali

I’ve heard the Queen actually likes her, so I’m curious too.

Can we just mention how hot Ginger Handler–I mean Prince Harry–is looking here?

    • marilyn

      Gorgeous!

She’s great.  But let’s talk about Harry.  Hello, there.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jessica-TallGirl-Freeman/1043623567 Jessica TallGirl Freeman

Bill is in the shot…sorry, I only see Harry when available.  She always looks stunning, bravo ol girl.

I adore Cathy Cambridge. And both princes look fantastic.

    • Anonymous

      haha! I noticed that, too!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=167100010 Meghan Young

Actually, I was just gonna say Will’s looking better in a suit than he has in a long time. Did they finally take in the waist a bit?

    • http://twitter.com/lois_abigail Lois Cameron

I think an updo would have been a bit much with this dress – strapless dresses are still relatively risque in Royal terms, so wearing a strapless dress without her shoulders being covered by her hair may well just have been a step too far.

I think she looks absolutely fab – she has a real knack for dressing beautifully without ever looking like the clothes are wearing her. And those jewels! Oh my goodness me. I can’t wait til she starts going to more tiara events. Cannot. Wait.

      • Anonymous

Yip thats totally what I thought. Having her hair down prevents her from baring too much skin.

And yes, I demand more tiaras!

    • Anonymous

Damn, no baby bump. This dress has ruined my life. Her hair has also ruined my life. God.

      I’m not eating today.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

The people pointing to the lack of bump are just not as creative as they should be!  It could just as easily be spun as she went for something slinky and form-fitting because she just found out she’s preggers and it’s her last chance for awhile.  :D

    • http://twitter.com/LianaBrooks Liana Brooks

      Love that dress!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Randall-Bennett/100000068949428 Randall Bennett

Talk about old fogies, JLo, you’ve arrived!  Will’s double-breasted tux flatters his broad shoulders for you to cry your hearts out on whilst emphasizing his trim waistline for you to wrap you arms around.  Lucky girl, that Cathy!  On his shoulders double-breasted does not shout out “old hat,” it bespeaks “classic vintage.”

      • Anonymous

Hear hear!!!..I completely agree!…and impeccably tailored!

    • Anonymous

Love the way she has balanced understated sexiness here. The jewels are gorgeous. I wish her hair weren’t covering up the front of the dress and necklace so much though. Not that she needs an updo, but she would have looked even better if she hadn’t used her hair as curtains.

    • Anonymous

This may be my favorite thing she’s ever worn. You know, I think Harry might have been a better accessory for her. Nothing against Will, but….

      • Anonymous

and you KNOW they would have a LOT more fun.

        • Anonymous

You know it. The spare always has more fun than the heir.

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

No, Harry’s too into the party thing for Kate — she’s always been fairly staid.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Stevie-Lo/923283 Stevie Lo

      she looks incredible…
… and lets mention that Harry is looking pretty hot hanging out in the corner over there

    • Anonymous

How can anyone tell from these photos what the dress looks like?  It completely merges with the background, and no detail is visible at all.

    • Sara__B

All three of them look fabulous, although William would look more fabulous in a different tux jacket. Not only are they good-looking people, but they look happy with their lives. I enjoy seeing photos of them. Thanks, T Lo!

      • http://profiles.google.com/shannonlstewart Shannon Stewart

ITA.  And they not only seem happy but realistic — they know what they can and can’t have or do.  Like they are taking the chance now for a little bit of privacy, because they both know that they’ll lose even that small amount someday when he takes the throne.

They seem like two people who went into this with their eyes wide open about exactly the life they were choosing and at peace with it.  More like Queen Elizabeth herself than Diana.

    • Anonymous

She is stunning and the guys look classy too.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1046681022 Paula Berman

Does this dress kick the “Kate’s preggo” rumors right in the ass or what?

    • marilyn

Okay, I realize LOTS of people are going to be mad at me, but although I think Cathy is gorgeous: She and Pippa should stop hitting the (faux) tanning so hard.  Pippa was practically orange at the wedding.  Gorgeous but orange.  Cathy looks great here, but should really back off on the tanning.  If it is real, it is bad for her skin, and if it is faux, she’s using one shade too much.  There, I said it.  Other than that, she is PERFECT.

    • Anonymous

It’s so hard to see the details of a black dress. I can’t even tell what fabric it is – velvet? Beautiful cut, though.

I think she looks great. I want her jewels (lol).

    • http://twitter.com/MFeatherstone Mary Featherstone

Love her. As soon as I saw the photos of her yesterday I couldn’t wait to see what you two would say. She is flawless, timeless and so elegant.

    • http://twitter.com/#!/Space_Kitty Space Kitty

      DAMN, GIRLFRIEND!

    • iCouture

Prince Hot Ginge just looks rambunctious and naughty, and I love it!!!

      Oh yeah, Cathy looks beautiful!!

    • http://twitter.com/starrika Ali

I get on people’s case when they rag on her for being too skinny, but I agree about the tanning. I think it’s mostly fake tan, given the sometimes orangeish hue, with the added issue of sometimes applying too much bronzer. When she’s not wearing it, or even dials it back a notch, it’s so much better.

    • Anonymous

Both brothers were wearing the double breasted tuxedos. They must get a family discount at the tailors.

There’s a shot floating around the intertubez of Cathy from the back that proves the rather spectacular MIddleton bum isn’t confined to Pippa.

    • http://profiles.google.com/laurenjeanstm Lauren St Martin

God, Harry is a hot ginger. Seriously, where do I go to start stalking him?

    • http://cheekypinky.wordpress.com/ Rebecca

      WERQ that velvet gown, chickie!

    • Anonymous

Oh Harry, you carrot-topped James Bond!  Looking HOT…we just had NO idea when you were a little one, did we?

    • Anonymous

Good lord, when Harry was a little redheaded boy, could anyone have imagined he’d turn out like this???

Oh, yeah, and Kate looks stunning. William is continuing to look way better since he got married.

    • Anonymous

Anyone else like that Bill is checking Cathy’s ass out in the first picture?

    • Cheryl Stone

wow i can comment here..well here is my 2cents on dk’s dress..she rocks it! the gown is plain but  the whole package looks stunning

    • Anonymous

She looks beautiful, but I would like to see what she looks like with a different hairstyle!

    • Anonymous

Elegant and lovely and always done with class.

    • Anonymous

      WOW! She looks spectacular!!!

    • Anonymous

Boring and HOT at the same time.  How does she do that?

    • Anonymous

Harry was slated when younger because some commented that Wills had the looks, not him. Even then I thought, wait till they both hit their twenties… Wills will age fast. Harry will get hotter as he gets older.

    • http://twitter.com/megelizah Megan Howard

I think she looks absolutely stunning. Like you said, the dress isn’t really EARTH shattering, which probably wouldn’t be totally appropriate for Mrs Future King of England but compared to her normal duds this is smokin’. Definitely a little more Diana-esque than Granny Betty.

    • Anonymous

Gorge. She looks fabulous. Love the necklace. Wanted to reach into the screen and move the damn hair back.

I know they do it on purpose, to make sure the hair shows in the photos and frames the face etc. In this case, maybe even to obscure some of the [scandalously!] bare upper chest.  But I want to see the damn dress. And I can’t help but thinking how inelegant all those bare necks look from the back as the ladies carefully pull all their hair forward over their shoulders.

Give up on the double-breasted suit. He doesn’t need to think about how good he *could* look. He will someday be the Crown Prince of England and already married way up in the looks department.

      • http://profiles.google.com/eszubert Elizabeth Szubert

I’m hoping less Prince and more King.  I do believe the Queen is making sure she lives to see that happens, but that could just be me.

    • http://twitter.com/anacedillo Ana Cedillo

she is sooo beautiful, i wish she would have done something to her hair though

    • Anonymous

Great dress, she looks fab!  I am going out on a limb alone and stating I really like William in his double breasted jackets.  He is tall enough and thin enough to wear them and it does set him apart from all the other guys.  It’s a statement and dashing, in my opinion.  As a shorter and wider guy, I envy his ability to wear them.

      • http://profiles.google.com/eszubert Elizabeth Szubert

I completely agree with everything you just said, save for the guy parts.  :D

    • Anonymous

      She has tremendous poise.

    • Susan Crawford

      Absolutely gorgeous, Cathy!

    • Lisa

She looks FABULOUS!  (Oh, and I loved “Ya with me, Bill?”  Ha!)

Bill needs to knock off the double breasted tuxes already!  Geeze, dude – why not just hitch your pants up around your armpits?

Oh, Harry, you HOT thing you!

    • bloodshothalfblind

i always have such a hard time finding fault with this girl.  she’s pretty fabulous overall & this look is a real stunner.
