Jennifer Hudson Gets Her Princess On at the Disney Christmas Parade

Posted on December 05, 2011

Who wants to work today? Absolutely no one reading this right now, we’re willing to bet. So instead of working, why not ease into your week by indulging in some mega-potent princess fantasies? Jennifer Hudson thinks you should.

Because when it comes to indulging in princess fantasies…

Jennifer Hudson performs for the “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” TV special at the Magic Kingdom park in Florida.

Girl does NOT fool around.

Brava, sweetie. Should’ve worn a tiara.

      When I’m a princess, that’s the dress I’ll wear.

    • Diana Martinez

      Love!

Thank you TLo, I’ve had a really hard morning (already!) and I needed a dose of pretty princess fantasy this morning.

      • Anonymous

Same here!  Just took my car in because of a burning smell under the hood.  :(  Plus, it’s raining.  :(  Plus, it’s Monday.  :(

Thanks, TLo, for the little trip to the happiest place on earth!  LOVE that dress!  A black princess dress–perfect! :)

        • Anonymous

yep, it’s a little ray o sunshine — crappy, rain here,  too!

    • Anonymous

That is an exceptional princess dress. Jennifer looks great.

Also, it’s nice to see her in something other than the super-tight clothes she’s been favoring since she lost weight.

      • BerlinerNYC

Yes, you took the words out of my mouth. She looks beautiful, and it fits. She does not look like she was in a fight to the death with a dress one size too small. Brava indeed.

    • Anonymous

Aw, she’s pretty. The fact that the gown is black keeps  it from being too sickly sweet, while keeping the style firmly in “pretty princess” category. And if you can’t be a pretty princess at Disneyworld, where can you be.

    • http://chocoholiccynic.blogspot.com Ina Partosa

      That’s a purdy dress! LIKE!

    • http://twitter.com/FlaviaGPantoja Flavia Pantoja

Ok, I know the dress is fabulous but haven’t we seen it before? I mean, this has been made, seen, photographed, discussed over and over again. I’m sure there is another princess dress somewhere out there that she could have worn!

      • scottyf

Wow, we have Princesses AND Evil Queens this morning! :-)

        • http://profiles.google.com/eszubert Elizabeth Szubert

Only proves you can’t have one without the other.  :)

      • http://twitter.com/thelilerin erin l.

I completely agree. Shame, Jennifer, trying to steal someone else’s dress. It can only take my breath away once…

    • Anonymous

      She’s lovely!

    • Erika Swain

you know…she would make an excellent Disney Princess.

      • Anonymous

Though, I have to confess I’d like for there to be a chubby Disney Princess at least once.

    • Mary McClelland

      Oooohhhhh… now that’s a princess dress. Fun.

    • Anonymous

Pretty Indeed!  But why does the last photo look like her and Mickey’s formal engagement portrait?

      • Anonymous

Oh, wow – it really does!

      • scottyf

Jennifer better be careful. Minnie has been known to cut a bitch for looking too hard at her man…um…mouse.

        • http://twitter.com/ILikeShiny Cindi Williams

There’s a penis joke in there somewhere. I’m just too lazy to find it today.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1325734955 Robin K. Osterberg

so do you think the person in the Mickey Mouse head is sporting a cheesy picture pose smile inside that costume? I think Yes….

      • http://twitter.com/Deac82 Mike M.

I had a few friends from college who were our mascots.  They said that they always found themselves smiling (or making a deliberately funny face) inside the head.  Its a reflex!

GORGEOUS ON ALL LEVELS. LOVE JHUD!!!

    • Anonymous

Didn’t Olivia Wilde wear this dress (or at least one that looked remarkably like this one) for the last Golden Globes? In any case, Jennifer looks absolutely gorgeous and it’s so perfect for a picture with Mickey Mouse :)

    • http://joyouslifesf.wordpress.com Kiltdntiltd

I have never seen her look so fabulous before.  Jennifer, you should wear that shape more often.

    • Anonymous

Wow, there must be a TON of crinoline under that skirt to keep it so perfectly bell-shaped!  But she looks pretty and, as others have said, for once the dress fits properly and not snugly.  Well done.

    • Jenna Kuhmann

I loooooove it!  I’ve been a princess the last two years in a row for Halloween.  :-D

    • Anonymous

That dress is a showstopper. It’s as fabulous on Hudson as it was on Olivia Wilde.

    • http://twitter.com/1carmelita 1carmelita

Perfect dress, no tiara needed to make that princess statement.

    • Anonymous

      Perfection. Brava, indeed.

    • https://profiles.google.com/104791269167429064986 Judy S

      She looks so gorgeous!

    • Anonymous

Maybe it’s the angles, but in these photos, and that first one in particular, she looks like she’s on stilts or a pedestal or something. The skirt to bodice ratio seems unusual.

      • http://profiles.google.com/sara.e.munoz Sara Munoz

That’s got to be the point. Larger than life. :)

    • Jessica O’Connell

      Whoa, crinoline!

    • bookish

That’s pretty much the well-made version of a lot of girls’ dream prom dress. Except the prom dress would be pink. I don’t mean that in a bad way at all… she looks beautiful!

    • MilaXX

I like it. It suits the occasion and still looks glam. BTW, Didn’t Olivia WIlde wear a version of this to an awards show?

    • Anonymous

I absolutely love that dress. It is pure fantasy, perfectly deployed! Brava indeed!

    • Anonymous

      beautiful!!

    • CQAussie

Stunning!  And yes, a tiara was sorely needed!

Hey – if I wore a freaking tiara (ok fine, a mini one but a tiara it was still!) on my wedding day then a magnificent princess gown like this definitely calls for one!

    • Anonymous

Like a beautiful Disney version of Mother Ginger from the Nutcracker. Just waiting for the wee ones to come running out from under her skirt.

    • Anonymous

Definitely needs more tiara. I wear a tiara whenever I go to Disney and I am never dressed anywhere near as fabulously.

    • Judy_J

Yes, a tiara would have been the crowning touch (pun intended).

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1043171034 Tadiana Walton Jones

Princess wearing a galaxy (or maybe a star cluster) – This combines all my favorite fairy tale and science fiction fantasies. Love.

    • Anonymous

Jennifer looks fabulous, but Mickey’s face has had waaaay too much work done. His chin and snout are so sharply rat-like now. Why did they mess with the sweetly round-faced rodent I loved?

      • Anonymous

        Ha! Good one.

    • Anonymous

Wow. Perfect on her and perfect for the setting.

    • Sara__B

I love princess dresses for grown-ups! (Big and sparkly, but no pink, purple, feathers, or bows allowed.) Tiaras welcome.

    • Now I am The Bee

Absolutely stunning.  She looks fab–Minnie better watch out–Jen will lure away that mouse of hers…

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_3AJ237ND3GAHDQJZ4TLCO4WLRA Emily

      So gorgeous!  Love it!

    • Anonymous

She looks incredible, even Mickey looks dapper. Definitely missing the tiara, though.

    • Anonymous

That is “throw down PRINCESS” wear!  Day-um girl, fantastic!!

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=506473106 Mori Clark

      Fierce as hell.

    • Anonymous

      Pretty effing awesome, in context.

    • Anonymous

      WOW!

    • http://twitter.com/amndad amanda lynn

…it’s like she’s going to prom.  blech.

    • http://blue-again.myopenid.com/ blue

Wow! Love the black princess dress. Very striking.

    • Anonymous

Mickey is all, screw Minnie, I’m with THIS girl.

    • Anonymous

Isn’t this the Marchesa dress that Olivia Wilde wore to the 2011 Golden Globes?

    • Anonymous

I adore the dress, and the big, zhuz’d up hair was a perfect choice.

It’s been raining here for THREE days of my four-day weekend.  Sigh.  It’s nice to see others looking cheerful!

    • Anonymous

Best look she has worn in awhile. Since she lost weight everything she has worn is short and tight do she can show off her new figure. This is much more flattering and she still looks great (and slender)

    • Anonymous

      LOVE!!!!!

    • Anonymous

      She does Diva Princess well.

    • Anonymous

Is she wearing stilts under that thing?

    • Ebony Dawkins

That dress is gorgeous. That wig is disastrous.

    • http://twitter.com/anacedillo Ana Cedillo

hahaha i love your commentary on this, at least she committed to the role.

    • Anonymous

something Star Jones rising up in Jenifer since the weight loss. There I said it.

      Hot!
